An Empirical Analysis on the Service Quality and the User Satisfaction in e-Trade Portal Sites (전자무역 포탈사이트의 서비스품질과 이용자만족도에 관한 실증적 연구)

  • This paper examines the major determinants affecting the user satisfaction on e-Trade portal sites in small and medium-sized exporters. The development of our research model is based on the empirical studies on the service quality of information system, web sites or Internet shopping mall, and on the factors influencing the user satisfaction. With the help of a regression analysis and factor analysis, five hypotheses are derived and tested. The results from regression analysis suggest that the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is affected by information characteristics and ease of use of e-Trade portal sites. In addition, the user satisfaction of e-Trade portal sites is enhanced by support for international trade. Our findings will be useful, especially for those who are planning to build user-oriented e-Trade portal sites.

  • Many organizations have developed their own information systems not only for internal efficiency but also for effectiveness of external customer services. One of the most effective service tools for their customers is the use of information technology. The web technology is rapidly becoming one of the most effective tools for online customer services. In order to gain competitive edge, organizations must have effective web site planning methods for their customer service. A study on traditional information systems planning methodologies has been conducted and they are compared with web site planning techniques. Cases of web sites in order to Improve customer relationship are analyzed. finally, a new conceptual framework for web site planning strategy for e-CRM is proposed in this paper. In order to support effective web site planning, online customer contact points and online service activities are defined and classified as several stages. And, web site strategies corresponding to each customer service activities are developed and proposed, With this framework, organizations can build competitive web strategies for improving their online customer relationships, thereby increasing customer satisfaction.

This paper, as a basic research, deals with Web indexing(Website indexing). Embedded indexing providing basics of Web indexing is examined, and essential META tags used in Web indexing are reviewed in brief. Finally, all the important issues of Web indexing are investigated in detail.

The Effects of Web Site Architecture, Web Site Content Quantity and User Task Complexity on Usability (웹사이트의 구조와 정보량 및 사용자 과업 복잡도가 사용성에 미치는 영향)

  • In this paper, we present an experiment conducted to examine how the web site's architecture, content quantity and the user task complexity affect its usability. The experiment was performed in two phases on college students to visit existing web sites which are readily accessible via the Internet. The results of experiment show that the web site's architecture significantly affects the efficiency and the effectiveness interactively with its content quantity and the user task's complexity. On the other hand, none of the above three factors show significant effects on the satisfaction and the learnability. In particular, the web site's content quantity does not have any statistically significant effects on the satisfaction and the learnability. It implies that the factors affecting the satisfaction and the learnability are different from those affecting the efficiency and the effectiveness. The analysis reassures that it is essential to consider the context of use in designing a web site.

  • According to the statistics of SecurityFocus in 2008, client-side attacks through the Microsoft Internet Explorer have increased by more than 50%. In this paper, we have implemented a behavior-based malicious web page detection system and a blacklist-based malicious web page filtering system. To do this, we first efficiently collected the target URLs by constructing a crawling system. The malicious URL detection system, run on a specific server, visits and renders actively the collected web pages under virtual machine environment. To detect whether each web page is malicious or not, the system state changes of the virtual machine are checked after rendering the page. If abnormal state changes are detected, we conclude the rendered web page is malicious, and insert it into the blacklist of malicious web pages. The malicious URL filtering system, run on the web client machine, filters malicious web pages based on the blacklist when a user visits web sites. We have enhanced system performance by automatically handling message boxes at the time of ULR analysis on the detection system. Experimental results show that the game sites contain up to three times more malicious pages than the other sites, and many attacks incur a file creation and a registry key modification.

  • With the advent of the so-called Web 2.0 age, the interconnections of various contents on the web, as well as the user-participatory services from blogs, web-based communities, picture sharing sites, and social networking sites, to the sites for collective knowledge productions, have been further vitalized. As the User Generated Contents(UGCs) are flourishing on the web, they have channeled users' desires for self-expression and social acknowledgement, and yet have created the new kinds of invasion of privacy. This study attempts to look at how the networked individuals' everyday perceptions of privacy have been reconstructed in the age of Web 2.0. By investigating how users have used the UGCs for their sociality on the web and how they have set the boundaries of the private and the public in these public or semi-public disclosures of self-expressions, it has traced the changing perceptions of privacy in everyday communication practices. For this study, it has interviewed Korean youngsters in their 10s and 20s who have grown up with the Internet and have received self-expressions and social communication on the web as everyday activities. Based on their interviews, it inquires into the concurrent notion of privacy and discuss its cultural implications.

There are several portal sites managed by each industrial types or associations/organizations for the purpose or strengthening the competitiveness or small and medium-sized enterprises And currently, tremendous manpower and expenses are put into the selection and quality improvement or information to satisfy the needs toward the high qualify information by the specialized users in their fields collection and updating or the information is partially available manually during He period or budget allocation by the government it becomes problematic, however, to continue this service when the project expires. This report presents the system for the information collection, analysis and classification of portal sites operated for the special purposes and automatic upload to the proper sites. In addition. expression or web robots and application of robots and several information types are suggested which will eventually accomplish currency or information and automatic updates and addition or documents with the least expenses or maintenance.

Web Site Evaluation with Community Criteria (커뮤니티 요소를 고려하는 웹사이트 평가)

  • Design of web site must include community considerations alongside technical design aspects. The main purposes of this study are to identify the community criteria for evaluating web site and to examine how business web sites include the community factors. To identify the evaluation criteria, the author reviewed recent literatures and made a table showing a summary result(see Table 1). appendix shows a sample form NASDAQ(n=82) and KOSDAQ(n=59) which were evaluated. Using the evaluation from with 189 items(Table 3), all sites were visited and review between August 28, 2000 and September 6, 2000. The auther’s evaluations were done from the perspective of community building in business sector. Table 4, summary data on the results of the study, shows that the level of application of the community concept is very low. Among the listed 18 items, only a few items are utilized at more than 50% level. Less than 10% items are Member Profile, Group Segmentation, Backstory, Forum, Chat, Fact-to-face Meeting, and Collaborative Design. the unbalanced utilization due to the lack of community concept in businesses are found. Korea firms are superior to NASDAQ firms in terms of Bulletin Board and FAQ; But Korean firms are inferior and remain at very low level in terms of Member Login, Education Materials, Backstory, Forum, and Integrating Off-line Activities which are core factors of community building.

A Study on Comparison Analysis of the System Quality Factors between Korea and China Shopping mall Websites

  • This paper mainly focuses on the system quality factors of a website targeted at shopping mall websites in China and Korea. We categorized six system quality factors and formulated hypotheses regarding how those six factors are different. We also conducted an empirical study to verify hypotheses. Statistical data for an empirical study targeted at undergraduate students in Korea and China, having filled in a questionnaire. Reliability of the collected data was measured, and a T-test of the established hypotheses was carried out. The following describes the results that were found. While the shopping mall websites of two countries showed a difference in terms of quick transition of the web pages or images, ease of use, reliability, and accessibility, they did not show the difference in term of accuracy and the short cut function. We analyzed the causes of the verified results and suggested a strategy to implement the effective shopping mall web sites.

  • Currently, there are little evaluated model for each industry and systematic analysis for each item about current business web sites. And the approach way to improve it all depends on individual. This research is about two different points of view on I-Evaluation development as an approach method to provide analysis, evaluation, and guideline on business web sites. The one is about developing a working step and a site evaluation model that are necessary to improve the quality of site. The other is about a framework development to apply a feedback on site most rapidly and site optimization. The former is from the methodological point of view for I-Evaluation, and the latter is from the point of view for I-Evaluation Framework. In terms of methodology, developing site evaluation model and defining a working step belong to it. Site evaluation model means customizing each customers web site, using each evaluated scoring model which can be a standard for each industry to analyze a similar business web site. Defining a working step means defining input and output parameters for composed elements, working processes, and results analysis on an evaluated model. And also it includes building a working environments to automatic steps mentioned the above by clarifying them.
