  • Users of World Wide Web (Web) experience difficulties in the retrieval of pertinent information due to the increased information provided by Web sites and the complex structure of Web documents that are continuously created, deleted, restructured, and updated. Web providers' efforts to maintain their sites are tend to be less than that of site creation due to the expenses required for maintenance. If information of relationship among Web documents and their validity is provided to Web managers as well as Web developers, they can better serve users. In order to grasp the whole structure of a Web site and to verify the validity of hyperlinks, traversal and analysis of hyperlinks in a Web document are required to provide information for effective and efficient creation and maintenance of the Web. In this paper, we introduce a Web Editor specialized for Web maintenance. We emphasized on two aspects: first, the analysis of HTML Tags to extract hyperlink information and second, establishment of the relationship among hyperlinked documents, and verification of the validity of them.

  • Many companies are using EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for the electronic transmission of documents and information to and from other companies. The appearance of Internet can enhance existing EDI systems. Existing EDI systems have several problems such as poor system interoperability and high expense of VAN. This paper prognoses a new EDI system utilizing Internet to provide open communication environment by using XML (extensible Markup language) and this applies it to the EDI service for Hospital Demand. XML is a mark-up language extending HTML which is a standard language for the expression of WWW (World-Wide Web) pages. XML is more structural than HTML, thus it is more suitable for the repetitive tasks of EDI and for the maintenance of databases. XML can transmit EDI documents in the open communication environment of Internet and users can easily access the documents with web browsers. Therefore we can provide EDI services within more open environment and we can build an EDI system with lower expense.

  • Ontology maintenance is a time consuming and costly process which requires special skill and knowledge. It requires joint effort of both ontology engineer and domain specialist to properly maintain ontology and update knowledge in it. This is specially true for medical domain which is highly specialized domain. This paper proposes a novel approach for maintenance and update of existing ontologies in a medical domain. The proposed approach is based on modified Ontology Maturing Process which was originally developed for web domain. The proposed approach provides way to populate medical ontology with new knowledge obtained from medical documents. This is achieved through use of natural language processing techniques and highly specialized medical knowledge bases such as Unified Medical Language System.

  • In this paper, I propose a metric model for measuring complexity of Web documentations which are wrote by HTML and XML. The complexity of Web documentation has effect on documentation understandability which is an important metric in maintenance and reusing of Web documentation. The understandable documents have more effect on WEI. The proposed metric uses the entropy to represent the degree of information flows between Web documentations. The proposed documentation complexity measures the information flows in a Web document based on the information passing relationship between Web document files. I evaluate the proposed metric by using the complexity properties proposed by Weyuker, and measure the document complexity. I show effectiveness of analyzing the correlation between the number of document file and document complexity.

  • The Web site which many people manage and maintenance much HTML page is so difficult to solve broken link like as dangling reference and inaccurate contents reference. That is, in the case we update or delete connections structure between HTML documents, it is difficult to guarantee referential integrity of Web Pages. In this chapter, we surveyed and defined integrity constraints condition between the parent page and child page, and studied about method to express by extension UML. WWW, Constraints, UML

  • A Web-based design automation system for concrete slab bridge has been developed to manage the resultant documents as well as to speed up the repetitive design process. Manipulation of engineering drawings in the Web page is one of the critical functions needed for Web-based design automation. Active Server Pages (ASP) is used to that collects design parameters in the database, and eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and XML-based vector graphics are expected to facilitate the representation of engineering drawings in the Web page. In this paper, we present how we used XML and Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) to compose engineering drawings and represent them in the Web page. XML Data Island we designed to define drawing components turned out effective in manipulating the engineering drawings in the Web page.

  • An XML labeling scheme is an efficient encoding method to determine the ancestor-descendant relationships of elements and the orders of siblings. Recently, many dynamic XML documents have appeared in the Web Services and the AXML(the Active XML), so we need to manage them with a dynamic XML labeling scheme. The prime number labeling scheme is a representative scheme which supports dynamic XML documents. It determines the ancestor-descendant relationships between two elements with the feature of prime numbers. When a new element is inserted into the XML document using this scheme, it has an advantage that an assigning the label of new element don't change the label values of existing nodes. But it has to have additional expensive operations and data structure for maintaining the orders of siblings. In this paper, we suggest the order number sharing method and algorithms categorized by the insertion positions of new nodes. They greatly minimize the existing method's sibling order maintenance cost.

  • While the impact or internet on our everyday life keeps increasing, the internet users are turning toward the value added information only that suits their purpose instead of just wandering over a sea (pool) or information. Although it is easy to locate the information using various search engines. we still finds it time and cost consuming to update the existing information or to add similar Information. There are several portal sites managed by each industrial types or associations/organizations for the purpose or strengthening the competitiveness or small and medium-sized enterprises And currently, tremendous manpower and expenses are put into the selection and quality improvement or information to satisfy the needs toward the high qualify information by the specialized users in their fields collection and updating or the information is partially available manually during He period or budget allocation by the government it becomes problematic, however, to continue this service when the project expires. This report presents the system for the information collection, analysis and classification of portal sites operated for the special purposes and automatic upload to the proper sites. In addition. expression or web robots and application of robots and several information types are suggested which will eventually accomplish currency or information and automatic updates and addition or documents with the least expenses or maintenance.

  • The ontology was proposed to construct the logical basis of semantic web. Ontology represents domain knowledge in the formal form and it enables that machine understand domain knowledge and provide appropriate intelligent service for user request. However, the construction and the maintenance of ontology requires large amount of cost and human efforts. This paper proposes an automatic ontology construction method for defining relation between concepts in the documents. The Proposed method works as following steps. First we find concept pairs which compose association rule based on the concepts in domain specific documents. Next, we find pattern that describes the relation between concepts by clustering the context between two concepts composing association rule. Last, find generalized pattern name by clustering the clustered patterns. To verify the proposed method, we extract relation between concepts and evaluate the result using documents set provide by TREC(Text Retrieval Conference). The result shows that proposed method cant provide useful information that describes relation between concepts.

  • With the development of IT technologies, IT environment is making great change over life whole and is displacing business and business achievement systems of industry at the fast speed. The system which is proposed in this paper, supports environments to share codes, execution files and objects between project teams to maximize productivity and efficiency in web environments. Through impact assessment which is achieved at correction and development of existing programming codes by maintenance requirements, it minimizes obstacle occurrence factors and supports tracing obstacle sources. Through conversion the correction and development histories of existing sources and executable files between project teams to XML documents suitable to share in web, it stores them to relational database. In this paper, through impact assessment and change management for the correction and development of applications in the existing system development environments, we support efficient IT developments.
