The survey was conducted so as to search the problems of full body harness currently used by workers in heavy and construction industry. The survey questionnaire was given to 565 workers wearing full body harness in heavy and construction industry. The results of study showed that the development of new full body harness considering body size of korean was needed. The impotent factors for developing of new full body harness were the size and the weight of the full body harness. The full body harness taking into account body size was judged to contribute to more comfortable work, work efficiency and safety. The result of this study can be utilized as useful data in the development of new full body harness considering the body size of korean workers.

The sample consisted of 693 university students who had visited(Ed- in this case 'visit' means to enter an internet site; note also that the past perfect tense already conveys the meaning of 'experience') internet fashion shopping malls or purchased clothing through internet. Data were analyzed by factor analysis, frequency, t-test, and ANOVA(LSD) using SPSSWIN. The results were as follows: 1) The evaluative criteria of internet fashion shopping malls could be categorized by 4 factors: product presentation method, design, product information, sales promotion & additional service; the first of which was found to be the most important. These criteria showed significant differences according to the period and time of access. Furthermore, the degree of consideration for these criteria was high, whereas the degree of satisfaction was low. 2) The evaluative criteria of clothing could be categorized by 6 factors: general characteristics of products, wearing comfort & ease of management, popularity & status symbolism, service, aesthetics, and textiles materials; the first of which was found to be the most important. These criteria were significantly different according to the periods, time, and purposes of access, and purchase experiences.

  • This study investigates the perception of different fabrics by consumers when provided with a video clip with rustling sounds of the fabric. We utilized sportswear products that are currently on the market and evaluated the emotional response of internet shoppers by measuring the physiological and psychological responses. Three kinds of vapor-permeable water-repellent fabric were selected to generate video clips each containing the fabric rustling sound and images of exercise activities wearing the sportswear made of the respective fabric. The new experimental website contained the video clips and was compared with the original website which served as a control. 30 subjects, who had experience to buy clothing online, took part in the physiological and psychological response to the video clip. Electroen-cephalography (EEG) was used to measure the physiological response while the psychological response consisted of evaluating accurate perception of the fabric, satisfaction, and consumer interest. When we offered video clips with fabric's rustling sound on the website, subjects answered they could get more accurate and rapid information to decide to purchase the products than otherwise they do the shopping without such information. However, such rustling sounds somewhat annoy customers, as proved psychological and physiological response. Our study is a critical step in evaluating the consumer's emotional response to sportswear fabric which will promote selling frequency, reduce the return rate and aid development of new sportswear fabric further evolution of the industry.

  • The domestic fashion industry of the middle and late 20th century emphasized the importance of a standardized design process; however, the values of differentiated brand individuality have become increasingly important with the qualitative·quantitative growth of designer brands. Therefore, paying attention to designer individuality (or a differentiated element of a designer brand growing up in the domestic fashion industry) this study reestablished factors of the designer brand individuality. An in-depth interview was conducted with 13 designers and consumers for empirical analysis. In order to identify concepts of designer individuality based on the theory of the brand personality by Aaker along with precedent studies, the study devised a theoretical frame to explain a conceptual structure of designer brand individuality as well as reestablish its factors as the designer individuality, design and non-design factors through empirical research. Empirical research derived the designer individuality factors as an external designer image, designer taste, design philosophy and designer personality. Design factors were derived as concept, working process and method, style and formativeness. Non-design factors were also extracted as wearing experience, wearer image, lookbook image, fashion shows and exhibitions. It is meaningful that little empirical research has been conducted on domestic fashion designers who actually run designer brands and that this study helped understand designer brands through a new approach called designer individuality.

  • To develop functional workwear for fishing, this study investigated the working conditions, inconveniences and problems associated with workwear, and functions required for workwear. A questionnaire was used for the study, and SPSS 26.0 was used for the analysis. In total, 124 fishermen participated in this survey (ages: 53.2 ± 11.9), consisting of 84.7% males and 15.3% females. The number of participants whose work experience was more than 10 years and less than 20 years was 46, accounting for 37.1%. Most fishing industry was in danger of getting hit by machinery or clothes. Fishermen preferred two-piece style workwear, and a waterproof fabric was the most important factor considered while purchasing the workwear. Their discomfort while moving in their workwear was attributed to the stretching of their hips, thighs, crotch, and knees when lifting their legs or squatting. Preferences depended on the type of fishery and the age of fishermen. Protection was emphasized for aquaculture fishing, while the activity was emphasized for capture fishing. People in their 50s emphasized the protection provided by the workwear, while others emphasized the activity. In the future, substantial research is necessary to develop workwear that reflects fishermen's requirements.

  • The fashion system has been criticized for relying on a linear economy to reduce short-term costs and increase profits. Meanwhile, the circular economy strives to expand the value chain through a closed loop for companies, society, and the environment by separating consumption from resources. This study aims to elucidate the strategic characteristics of the technological measures that fashion companies and brands are trying to innovate into a sustainable fashion system on the basis of the circular economy concept. Thus, we conducted case studies by dividing the value chain of the fashion system into design, production, and consumption to identify the technological development of the circular fashion system from a technologization perspective that incorporates technological values. First, design appeared to strengthen emotional durability, design and process with circulation in mind, and fashion product digitalization. Second, production manifested itself as material development for the new fiber economy, improvement of non-environmental processes, and customization of demand-driven, responsive production. Third, consumption was the spread of the environmental consumption culture through the sharing economy platform, the realization of a virtual wearing experience to prevent rapid disposal, and the provision of information on sustainable consumption.
