화학공정용 전동기에 사용된 3D 프린팅 플라스틱 볼베어링의 내화학성 평가 및 현장적용 연구 (Chemical Resistance and Field Trial of 3D-Printed Plastic Ball Bearing Used in Electric Motors for Chemical Processes)

  • Fluid pumps in chemical processes are typically driven by electric motors. Even if the motor is separated from the pump with seals, wear resulting from friction and misalignment can lead to leakage of chemical fluid, causing corrosion in the bearing supporting the motor, and, eventually, failure of the motor. It is thus a standard procedure to replace bearings at regular intervals. In this article, we propose 3D-printed plastic ball bearings for use as an alternative to commercial stainless-steel ball bearings. The plastic bearings are easy to manufacture, require less time to replace, and are chemically resistant. To validate the applicability of the plastic bearings, we first conducted chemical resistance tests. Bearings were immersed in 30 caustic acid and 30 nitric acid for 30 min and 24 h, respectively. The test results showed no corrosive damage to the bearings. A test rig was set up to compare the performance of the plastic bearings with that of the commercially equivalent deep-groove ball bearings. Loading test results showed that the plastic bearings performed as well as the commercial bearing in terms of vibration level and load-handling capability. Finally, a plastic bearing was subjected to a clean-in-place process for three months. It actually outperformed the commercial bearing in terms of chemical resistance. Thus, 3D-printed plastic bearings are a viable alternative to stainless-steel ball bearings.

차선재료의 내구성 향상을 위한 내마모성 시험 적용 연구 (Abrasion-Resistant Road Markings for Improved Durability Lane to Wear Simulators Test)

  • 도로표지용 도료의 품질기준은 KS M 6080의 품질기준을 만족하는 제품들의 경우에도 시공 후 일정기간이 경과한 후에는 도료 자체의 부착력 문제로 교통량 증가에 따른 자동차 차륜에 의한 도료 자체의 마모 손실에 의하여 재귀반사 기능을 부여하는 유리알의 마모 및 탈리로 시인성이 급격히 저하되고 있다. 이에 따른 야간 교통 사고율 증가와 동시에 추가 교통 안전을 위한 부가 보완시공으로 안전시설 제비용이 직접비용으로 유발되고 있으며, 직접비용보다 추가공사로 인한 교통체증으로 사회간접 비용이 증가되고 있다. 특히, 차선의 품질 규격이 KS M 6080 제품에 만족한다 하더라도 빗물의 수막(水膜)에 의한 유리알의 굴절율 차로 재귀반사기능을 하는 차선 도료용 유리알의 기능을 발휘하지 못하여 운전자의 시인성은 열악함을 알 수 있다. 따라서, 국외에서 많이 사용되고 있는 마모성이 우수한 수용성 차선도료, 고성능 융착식 도료, 상온경화형 도료를 도입하여 성능을 비교 검토하였다. 본 연구에서는 차선재료의 내구성 향상을 위해 EN 1436규격에 의한 내마모성 시험을 수용성, 융착식, 상온경화형 도료에 실시하여, 재귀반사도 성능이 우수한 차선재료의 적용 가능성을 확인하였다.

DLC 표면 처리에 따른 임플랜트 지대주 나사의 풀림 현상에 관한 연구 (THE STUDY ON THE REMOVAL TORQUE OF THE DIAMOND LIKE CARBON COATED TITANIUM ABUTMENT SCREWS)

  • Statement of problem : Implant screw loosening remains a problem in implant prosthodontics. Some abutment screws with treated surfaces were introduced to prevent screw loosening and to increase preload. DLC(Diamond Like Carbon) film has similar properties on hardness, wear resistance, chemical stability, biocompatibility as real diamond materials. Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of lubricant layer on abutment screw and to discriminate more effective method between soft lubricant and hard lubricant to prevent screw loosening. Material and method : In this study, $1{\mu}m$ thickness DLC was used as protective, lubricating layer of titanium screws and 3 times removal torque was measured on the abutment screws to investigate the difference in 10 coated and 10 non-coated abutment screws. Results : The results indicated that the implants with DLC coating group were not more resistant to the applied force in screw loosening. At 32Ncm, the 3 times removal torque in DLC group were $27.75{\pm}2.89,\;25.85{\pm}2.35$ and $26.2{\pm}2.57$. The removal torque in no-coated abutment screws were $27.85{\pm}4.23,\;27.35{\pm}2.81$ and $27.9{\pm}2.31$, respectively. Conclusion : The lubricant layer used in this study was Diamond Like Carbon(DLC) and it have a properties of hard and stable layer. The DLC coating layer was hard enough to prevent distortion of screws in the repeated unscrewing procedure in clinical situation. The reduced friction coefficient in hard DLC layer was not effective to prevent screw loosening.
