In this study, we try to find ways to recognize face recognition more stably and to improve the effectiveness and reliability of face recognition. In order to improve the face recognition rate, a lot of data must be used, but that does not necessarily mean that the recognition rate is improved. Another criterion for improving the recognition rate can be seen that the top/bottom of the recognition rate is determined depending on how accurately or precisely the degree of classification of the data to be used is made. There are various methods for classification analysis, but in this study, classification analysis is performed using a support vector machine (SVM). In this study, feature information is extracted using a normalized image with rotation information, and then projected onto the eigenspace to investigate the relationship between the feature values through the classification analysis of SVM. Verification through classification analysis can improve the effectiveness and reliability of various recognition fields such as object recognition as well as face recognition, and will be of great help in improving recognition rates.

Automation and robotic technology (ART) has been successfully applied in the manufacturing and allied industries to achieve on-time delivery of quality products at increasingly reduced costs. Meeting time, quality and cost targets still remains a big challenge in the global construction industry with prevalence of time and cost overruns. Application of ART in the construction industry could contribute to significant improvement in the efficient and effective delivery of projects to meet and exceed client expectations. However, the uptake of ART is still low in the construction industry. This study investigates the various ways in which ART could be applied to improve construction project delivery, potential areas of applications, and constraints to the uptake of the technology in the construction industry. Recommendations are made for improving the uptake of ART in the construction industry.

This paper designed and developed internet based competency developing system for small IT (Information & Technology) companies. The purpose of this system was to provide career development opportunities to small IT business workers for their longstanding employment and self-improvement job skills. This study analyzed job competencies based on job descriptions from two IT companies. The survey was conducted to analyze employees' self-assessed current job competency level and effective ways of improving their current level of competencies. From the results of survey, most of subjects indicated their job competencies were in between mid-level to low level, and they required the need of training programs to improve their job knowledge and experience. Based on the interview from field experts about job competency development, this study designed and developed the internet based competency development system to provide effective and efficient way of improving job competencies and needed training programs for small IT business employees.

The benefits of pesticides in improving the food quantity and quality requirements for an increasing world population are significant, and they can be described in agronomic, economic and social terms. The risks are assessed from the hazards which are likely to occur in practice ; the hazards are defined by the toxicity of the pesticide to non-target organisms at various exposure levels. There are ways of reducing the risks (mainly by reducing exposure in practice) and improving the benefits of pesticides ; these are known as risk management and benefit management respectively. The overall risk-benefit assessment is facilitated if each component can be expressed in financial terms, but it must be made nationally or locally on a sound technical basis against the prevailing agronomic, socio-economic and political circumstances. Paraquat is used to illustrate the risk-benefit assessment process in general terms, and the conclusion is that the benefits greatly outweigh the risks. It is important to keep the risks of pesticides in perspective with those associated with other naturally occurring chemicals in our diet and with other everyday aspects of life. In an overall context, the pesticide risk is small.

Purpose: Nursing communication has become more important than ever before because quality of nursing services largely depends on the quality of communication in a very competitive health care environment. This article was to introduce ways to improve nursing communication using conversation analysis. Methods: This was a review study on conversation analysis, critically examining previous studies in nursing communication and interpersonal relationships. Results: This study provided theoretical backgrounds and basic assumptions of conversation analysis which was influenced by ethnomethodology, phenomenology, and sociolinguistic. In addition, the characteristics and analysis methods of conversation analysis were illustrated in detail. Lastly, how conversation analysis could help improve communication was shown, by examining researches using conversation analysis not only for ordinary conversations but also for extraordinary or difficult conversations such as conversations between patients with dementia and their professional nurses. Conclusion: Conversation analysis can help in improving nursing communication by providing various structures and patterns as well as prototypes of conversation, and by suggesting specific problems and problem-solving strategies in communication.

Reinforcing bar coupling method has a variety of ways including lap-splice method. However, there are problems that need to be improved in terms of constructability, economics analysis. We should be improved about the problems of the existing methods. Accordingly, this study were developed a new type of staggered grip type reinforcing bar coupling. The proposed method show the following effects than existing methods. First, this method can be reduce time through improved workability. Second, increasing safety through the slip removal. Third, improving economic efficiency by reduce the manufacturing costs.

Electrical or electronic products have been becoming smaller and high integrated recently, with printed circuit boards(PCB's) being the key components for these products. The introduction of new technology of surface mounted devices(SMD) opens new ways towards high integration on the PCB. Many plants in eletronical industry which produce high variety of PCB's to meet the demands of customer orders require flexibility in PCB's production lines. This survey paper describes the related optimization problems and solution methods to the automated surface mount technology(SMT) assembly lines, and provides with the research direction for improving flexibility.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the preconceptions Korean EFL learners have about team teaching in the field of English education at a secondary level. Team teaching is a method of teaching where a Korean English teacher works in co-junction with a native English speaker. Generally speaking, when we discuss teaching methods for a foreign language, the most important objective is to improve our communication skills. The purpose of this study is to examine the effect on communication skills when team teaching is employed, and to find ways to maximize the benefit when team teaching. The underlying issues are; firstly, what are the precedent conditions for team teaching? Secondly, what are the best teaching methods and preparations for teaching materials for improving the effectiveness of team teaching? Third, how do the programs for team teaching with native teachers assist in improving the student's communication skills? Ideally, this study will assist in overcoming the fear that foreign language learners have when communicating with real native speakers.

This study was focused on finding an effective way for improving English listening ability of students. who are majoring in Office Automation at Dong Seoul College, In order to achieve the best method, the study was to investigate the theories and the teaching techniques of listening comprehension approach. In this regard, Toeic tests were conducted. and the results were analized. This study suggests that various listening experiences should be given to the students to achieve the ultimate goal of listening comprehension for communication.

This paper examines transcription of sounds from a phonological perspective. It has found that most of transcriptions have been done on a segmental basis alone, without consideration of the whole phonological systems and levels, and without a full understanding of the nature of the linguistic and phonetic alphabets. In a word, sound transcriptions have not been done on the basis of the phonology of the language and the alphabet. This study shows a phonological model for transcribing foreign and native sounds, suggesting ways of improving some of the current transcription systems such as the Hangeul transcription of loan words and the romanization of Hangeul, as well as the phonetic transcription of English and other foreign languages.
