  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore and describe the experiences of career decision making by Korean nursing students. Methods: The participants were 18 nursing students from one nursing college. Data were collected through in-depth individual interviews, and the main question was, "Could you describe your experience of making a career decision?" Data from the field and transcribed notes were analyzed using Strauss and Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Results: Core category of nursing students' experiences in making career decisions was 'trying to find the way of being a nurse'. Action/interaction strategies were 'becoming one's own self', 'actively exploring the way of being a nurse', and 'experiencing one's own achievement as a future nurse'. Consequences were 'deciding on the career on one's own' and 'career indecision on one's own'. Conclusion: The findings indicate that nursing students tried to know themselves, explore careers and experience their achievements, and that their efforts were influenced by real situations and support systems. Therefore, nurse educators should develop systems and programs to help students in nursing make career decisions.

  • This paper presents the application of fuzzy set theory in multi criteria decision making (MCDM). FAHP (Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process) method was used to rank alternatives to find the most reasonable and efficient way of agricultural reservoir water resources assessment. 6 criteria and 10 subcriteria had been identified and compared to secure agricultural water resources. Fuzzy numbers and linguistic variables were presented to address inherently uncertain or imprecise data. Comparison analysis of decision making method was also carried out to find a way of suitable decision making and validity of FAHP was discussed.

  • The consequences of rapid industrial advancement, diversified types of business and unexpected industrial accidents have caused a lot of damage to many unspecified persons both in a human way and a material way Although various previous studies have been analyzed to prevent industrial accidents, these studies only provide managerial and educational policies using frequency analysis and comparative analysis based on data from past industrial accidents. The main objective of this study is to find an optimal algorithm for data analysis of industrial accidents and this paper provides a comparative analysis of 4 kinds of algorithms including CHAID, CART, C4.5, and QUEST. Decision tree algorithm is utilized to predict results using objective and quantified data as a typical technique of data mining. Enterprise Miner of SAS and AnswerTree of SPSS will be used to evaluate the validity of the results of the four algorithms. The sample for this work chosen from 19,574 data related to construction industries during three years ($2002\sim2004$) in Korea.

  • This study focus on oriental way for Win-win leadership of modern time using systems thinking approach. We constructed concept, 'Modesty Leadership' from oriental bible- Tao Te Ching, Change Ching, the Analects of Confucius. This work described in the paper based on case collected from 2011 Seoul city mayor election in the Korea. There are three initial aims : to confirm what feedback loop affected approval rating, to determine how these feedback interacted and to establish the significance of cognitive mapping. The use of system thinking to model cognitive mapping of political election untraditional approach in study of oriental bible. This approach is valuable in that it can be to understand management strategies and their effect on decision making.

  • This paper's aim is to do a global evaluation (considering four dimensions: technical-economic, environmental, social and political) in the ways of natural gas transportation (gas pipelines, GNL and GTL) and electric transmission, in order to supply the energy demands of Mato Grosso do Sul, a brazilian state. The transport ways had been compared between itself using a software of decision taking (Decision Lens Suite), which determined a better way for transporting natural gas in this case. In a generalized manner the gas pipeline is the best way of transporting natural gas, therefore it takes advantage in the majority of the analyzed dimensions.

  • The objective of this study is to propose a new procedure to synthesize the multi-experts priorities in AHP. If multi-experts with different expertise are involved in a AHP decision, we need some way to aggregate their opinions. AHP model used to do numerical aggregation by taking only the geometric mean or the weighting geometric mean in past. To aggregate the multi-experts priorities, In this paper. we suggest a way which Decision Maker can exclude outlier matrix from group using the concept of the Compatibility and we Introduce Delphi method to use Compatibility in AHP. A numerical example is shown to illustrate the procedure.

  • This paper considers a reverse supply chain with simultaneous recovery of used products and manufacturing of brand-new ones. Recovered products are downgraded and have to be sold in a market different from that of brand-new products at a different price. In case of a shortage of recovered product inventory, a brand-new item, if available, can be offered at the price of a recovered product. In other words, one-way demand substitution is allowed. We address the joint decision of when to manufacture brand-new product, when to recover returned product, and how to control demand substitution to maximize the hybrid production system's profits. To this end, we propose a Markov decision Process model and investigate the structure of the optimal policy. Performance comparison is numerically implemented between the models with and without downward demand substitution option under different operating conditions of the system parameters.

  • The uncertainty or imprecision associated with vague parameters and weighting sets, reduces the ability to decide what alternative is better for a particular location. To efficiently reduce the effect of imprecision frequently arising in available information, fuzzy theory has been used to improve consideration of imprecision in a Multi-Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA) problem. Fuzzy logic offers a way to represent and handle imprecision present in continuous real world applications. A GIS implementing fuzzy set theory, (referred to in this paper as the "Spatial Fuzzy Approach") enables decision makers to express imprecise concepts associated with geographic data and provides decision makers the ability to have even more definition and discrimination in terms of the best alternatives for a particular spatial location. This study is focused on addressing questions pertaining to the methodology of floodplain analysis using GIS and Spatial Fuzzy MCDA to evaluate flood damage reduction alternatives. The issues will be examined in a case study of the Suyoung River Basin in Pusan, Korea.

  • In this paper, we propose a behavior decision model for a robot, which is based on artificial emotion, various motivations and dynamic personality. Our goal is making a robot which can express its emotion human-like way. To achieve this goal, we applied several emotion and personality theories in psychology. Especially, we introduced the concept of dynamic personality model for a robot. Drawing on this concept, we could make a behavior decision model so that the emotion expression of the robot has adaptability to various environments through interactions between human and the robot.
