  • Current waveform control of pulse MAG welding power source is studied so that welding of thin plates may obtain high speed and improved performance. In this paper, waveform control method is proposed, digital controller using DSP is able to control the current waveform precisely. High speed welding of thin plates using pulse MAG welding method is made possible. Performance test for 1.2mm thin plates is carried out, output waveform and welding performance is analyzed.

단락파형제어형 SMAW용 용접전원 개발 및 특성평가 (Short Circuit Waveform Control Type SMAW Welding Power Source Development and Characteristic Evaluation)

  • The digital controlled SMA welding power source having the hot start current and short circuit waveform control was developed. The inverter power controller was used an analog circuit and the short circuit waveform controller was developed using a 8-bit MCU. For the evaluation of the developed SMA welding power source it were compared with a domestic welding power sources. Using the high titanium oxide type and low hydrogen type electrodes, the characteristics of hot start and short circuit was evaluated. Developed SMA welding power source shows good start performance. Also, arc stability and low current weldability were improved by the short circuit waveform control.

High-efficiency Operation of Switched Reluctance Generator based on Current Waveform Control

  • The main aim of this paper is to expound high-efficiency operation of Switched Reluctance Generator (SRG) based on the current waveform. For this purpose, theoretical analysis of the copper loss and iron loss of the system is done first. Then, necessary simulation is done to find the variation trend of the copper loss and iron loss with the variation of the current waveform at the same output power. Finally, the best current waveform which can make the system operate with high efficiency is obtained by considering the influence of these two kinds of loss. In order to verity the simulation results, the experimental platform of DC motor-SRG is built and the modified angle position control (APC) method which can specify the current shape optionally is presented. By comparing the system efficiency at the three kinds of typical current waveform, the correctness and feasibility of the theory is verified. The proposed method is simple, reliable, and easy to achieve.

대전류 $CO_2$ 용접에서 스패터 저감을 위한 파형제어 기법 개발 (Development of Waveform Control for Suppressing the Spatter Generation)

  • A new waveform control technique has been developed for suppressing the spatter generation in the repelled transfer mode of high current $CO_2$ welding. Based on the spatters in repelled transfer, a waveform concept of concept was established in a way to drop the welding current to lower level right before the pendant weld drop detatchment so that the explosion force associating with drop detatchment was decreased. There were several variables to be controlled such as the moment of current drop, the base current and the time of retention at the base current. Either at lower base current or at longer retention time, the more instantaneous shot circuits were int개duced and thus the spatter generation rates were increased. With optimizing the control variables, the amount of spatter generated was decreased by about 30%.

SST를 이용한 전기강판의 2차원 자기특성 측정을 위한 새로운 자속밀도 파형 제어법 (A New Algorithm of B-waveform Control for the Measurement of Two-dimensional Magnetic Properties of Electrical Steel Sheets using Single Sheet Tester)

  • The measurement of two-dimensional magnetic properties of electrical steel sheet using single sheet tester (SST) requires to control the B-waveform as sinusoidal. The SST electric circuit, in general, has inductance, and this makes the phase lag in electric current. For this reason, the induced voltages of H- or B-coil may have phase difference from the exciting voltage. In this paper, a new algorithm is developed to compensate the phase difference and makes the B-waveform control efficient. The developed algorithm experimentally calculates the phase difference based on the measured waveform of the induced voltage for the magnetic field intensity along transverse direction. By using the proposed algorithm, the two-dimensional magnetic properties of grain-orientated electrical steel sheet (30PG110) is measured up to 2T. By comparing the measured B- and H-waveforms, the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is proven.

전류 파형 제어를 적용한 마그네슘 합금의 저항 점 용접 특성 (Resistance Spot Welding Characteristics of Mg Alloy Applying Current Waveform Control)

  • In automotive industry, applying of Mg alloy to autobody has been issued recently as a light metal. But poor resistance spot weldability of Mg alloy is blocking commercialization. So studies on improving resistance spot weldability of Mg alloy is increasing continuously. For reduce loss of heat input during welding, inverter DC power source is considered because of short rise time to target welding current. But rapid rising of welding current can increase temperature rapidly in nugget and oxide film between electrode and base metal, and that causes generating expulsion on low welding current range. In this study, for increase optimum welding current range and prevent generating expulsion, applicate various types of welding current waveform controls during resistance spot welding. For analysis effects of each current waveform control, acceptable welding current regions according to electrode force and welding time is determined and lobe diagram is derived. In result, pre heat is proposed as optimum type of welding current waveform control.

Improvement of Maneuvering Feeling of Human-Mechanical Cooperative System and Its Application to Electric Power Steering System

  • In human-mechanical cooperative systems, a significant issue is to improve the control performance and the maneuvering feeling of human operation. However, since it is not easy to evaluate the feeling of operators numerically, control engineers design controllers only through experience. Thus, in this paper, a new evaluation method for control performance of human-mechanical cooperative system is proposed based on the reserge waveform. Various distortions of waveform represent deteriorations of control performance and maneuvering feeling. In some cases, since there is a tradeoff between the control performance and the maneuvering feeling, it is difficult to compensate for both of them by usual feedback controllers. To overcome this situation, the two degrees of freedom control system is applied to human-mechanical cooperative system. Some numerical simulation results for an electric power steering system are shown to confirm the effectiveness of proposed control design method.

  • This paper investigates the EEG waveform distortions caused by the transient responses of various types of signal conditioning filters, which are generally introduced for automated analysis of EEG. This study explicitly simulates the filter responses to the typical EEG waveform models, and compares the distortions. The filter distortion effects are also illustrated with the experiments on real EEG signals.

  • 본 논문은 전동기의 저속 영역 운전의 센서리스 기법으로 적합한 고조파 주입 센서리스 제어기법에서 사인파, 삼각파 및 사각파를 주입하여 인가 전압 파형에 따른 센서리스 성능을 비교한다. 본 연구는 영구자석 전동기의 센서리스 기법에 관한 것이다. 1kHz 주파수를 갖는 여러 모양의 파형을 주입하여, 각 파형에 대한 추정된 각도의 오차량을 비교 분석한다. 실험은 HILS(hardware in the loop simulation) 시스템을 이용하였으며, Hardware는 제어보드이며 실시간 시뮬레이터에는 Simulik로 구현된 인버터와 전동기의 모델이 위치한다. 제어 알고리즘은 FPGA 제어보드로 구현하였으며, 이는 10kHz 주파수의 PWM 인터럽트 서비스 루틴, 고조파 주입 및 위치 검출 센서리스 알고리즘 등을 포함한다. HILS 실험을 통해 사인파, 삼각파 및 사각파 고조파 주입시 센서리스 제어 성능을 비교한다.

가솔린엔진의 전자제어 센서파형 측정을 통한 점화2차 파형 분석에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Secondary Waveform Analysis according to Measure of Electronic Control Waveform)

  • The test was done on cars travelling at speeds of 20km/h, 60km/h and 100km/h, the performance testing mode for chassis dynamometer. In this test, the secondary waveform were measured, including those using faulty MAP sensors, oxygen sensors and spark plugs. The results from these measurements and their analysis of secondary waveform can be summarized as follows: 1) The secondary waveform measured from the faulty oxygen sensor showed a lot of noise around peak voltage and in the rising and falling sections during spark line which means that the air fuel mixture was non-homogeneous. 2) The secondary waveform from the faulty MAP sensor showed the worst shape compared to other sensors, including variation of spark line, state of air-fuel mixture and velocity of flame front. 3) The spark line time of secondary waveform using a faulty spark plug displayed the shortest and smallest energy spark line, which means that a misfire occurred.
