Millimeter-wave (mmWave) and Non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) are expected to be the major techniques that lead to the next generation wireless communication. NOMA provides a high spectrum efficiency by sharing of spatial resources among users in the same frequency band. Meanwhile, millimeter-wave gives a huge underutilized bandwidth at extremely high frequency band (EHF) which covers 30GHz to 300GHz. These techniques have been proven in several recent literatures to achieve high data rates. The combination of NOMA and millimeter-wave techniques further improves average sum capacities, as well as reduces the interference compared to conventional wireless communication systems. In this paper, we focus on hybrid NOMA system working in millimeter-wave frequency. We propose a clustering algorithm used for a hybrid NOMA scheme to optimize the usage of wireless resources. The proposed clustering algorithm adds several conditions in grouping users and defining clusters to increase the probability of the successful superposition decoding process. The performance of the proposed clustering algorithm is investigated in hybrid NOMA system and compared with the conventional orthogonal multiple access (OMA) scheme.
The performance of a wave energy converter (WEC) that uses the rolling motion of a partially submerged pendulum plate in front of a quay wall was analyzed. The wave exciting moment and hydrodynamic moment were obtained using a matched eigenfunction expansion method (MEEM) based on the linear potential theory, and then the roll motion response of a pendulum plate, time averaged extracted power, and efficiency were investigated. The optimal PTO damping coefficient was suggested to give the optimal extracted power. The peak value of the optimal extracted power occurs at the resonant frequency. The resonant peak and its width increase as the submergence depth of the pendulum plate decreases and thickness of the pendulum plate increases. An increase in the wave incidence angle reduces the efficiency of the wave energy converter. In addition, the WEC using a rolling pendulum plate contributes not only to the extraction of the wave energy, but also to a reduction in the waves reflected from the quay wall, which helps to stabilize ships going near the quay wall.

Oscillating water column (OWC) type wave power generator system is a power generation system that uses wave energy, a sustainable and renewable energy source. Irregular cycles and wave heights act as factors that make it difficult to secure generation efficiency of the wave power generator system. Recently, research for improving power generation efficiency is being conducted by applying digital twin technology to OWC type wave energy converter system. However, digital twin using sensor data can predict erroneous performance due to uncertainty in the sensor data. Therefore, this study proposes an uncertainty analysis method for sensor data which is used in digital twin to secure the reliability of digital twin prediction results. Uncertainty quantification considering sensor data characteristics and future uncertainty information according to uncertainty propagation were derived mathematically, and confidence interval estimation was performed based on the proposed method.

To improve the limit of efficiency of squeezing oil in a conventional method, which seeds are compressed simply, the adoptability of the additional energy by the ultrasonic wave was investigated experimentally. As the results, using the ultrasonic vibration from the Langevin-type transducer, the efficiency was increased up to 25 %, whereas the conventional method has 15% efficiency. To investigate the additional pressure by the ultrasonic wave, the acoustic impedance of the sample and the vibration velocity of the transducer were measured. Although the amplitude of the ultrasonic is about 2.8 % of the compression pressure, the efficiency is increased a lot as mentioned above because the pressure is changed according to ultrasonic period.

This paper deals with the design and aerodynamic analysis of a special-type impulse turbine, with an end plate for wave energy conversion. Numerical analysis was performed using a CFD code, FLUENT. The main idea of the proposed end plate was to minimize the adverse effect of tip clearance of turbine blade, and was borrowed from ducted propeller, with so-called penetrating end plate for special purpose marine vehicles. Results show that efficiency increases up to $5\%$, depending on the flow coefficient; a higher flow coefficient yields increased efficiency. Decrease of input coefficient CAwith an end plate is the main reason for higher efficiency. Performance of end plate at various design parameters, as well as flow conditions, was investigated; the advantages and disadvantages of the presentimpulse turbine were also discussed.

In this thesis, We observed the characteristic of the diffraction efficiency according to the wave length of the chalcogenide thin films. The used an $Ag(200{\AA})/As_{40}Ge_{10}Se_{15}S_{35}$ thin film. We made grating formation by each wave length 325nm, 442nm, 632.8nm. After measure diffraction efficiency of the time. We expressed the maxium saturation value at fast time as were the short wavelength and stable characteristic. On the other hand we appeard to the by a maxium diffraction efficiency the 1.7% in 325nm, 0.8% in 442nm, 0.27% in 632.8nm. The maximum diffraction efficiency expressed high value as were the long wavelength.
For the efficient management of the diagnostic x-ray equipment, a nation-wide inspection of hospitals was performed by an inspection institute in Taejon in the first half of 1997. Among those hospitals inspected, 28 equipments(machines) which were over 500 mA were randomly selected according to their characteristics : 7 condenser type x-ray equipments, 7 three control phase of full wave rectification of type remote control x-ray equipments, 7 single phase of full wave rectification type for general radiography equipments, and 7 single phase of full wave rectification type of R/F equipments. We obtained the following results by conducting the experiment based on the efficiency of the equipments mentioned above. 1) When the equipments are analyzed, 2 out of 7 single phase of full wave rectification type of general radiography equipments(28.6%), 3 out of 7 single phase of full wave rectification type of R/F equipments(42.9%), 5 out of 7 three phase of full wave rectification type remote of control x-ray equipments(71.4%), and 4 out of 7 condenser type of x-ray equipments(57.1%) showed suitability. It proves the superiority of the three phase of full wave rectification type of remote control x-ray equipments. 2) From the overall analysis, only about 50% of the equipments(suitability of 14 out of 28) maintain the efficient management. Therefore, maintenance management of equipments is more necessary. If the efficiency of the x-ray equipment is uniformly maintained and managed to prevent the breakdown(trouble) beforehand especially through the continuous inspection of tube voltage, tube current, exposure time, and collimator, the financial loss and exposure dose to the patient, as well as the workers engaged in radiation, can be reduced for better medical service.
A compact array system of small buoys is used for wave energy extraction. To evaluate the performance of this system, hydrodynamic analysis is carried out in regular waves using the higher order boundary element method. The motion response of each buoy is calculated considering hydrodynamic interactions caused by other buoys. The effect of energy extraction device is modeled as a linear damping load. The efficiencies of energy conversion are compared using the various sizes and arrangements of the array system and the damping coefficients for energy extraction. The increase in size or the packing ratio of the system gives better efficiency. However, the wave condition and the cost for the system should be considered to optimize performance from the perspective of engineering and economics. The proposed nondimensionalized damping coefficient for energy extraction is 0.1~0.5.
There are many difficulties to supply constant power to marine facilities which operate in the sea. Especially, there is a limit to stand alone power supply systems due to the influence of weather conditions. That's why a hybrid power supply system is required to overcome these problems. This paper will describe an Electronic Anti-Fouling System (EAFS) to maximise the power efficiency for a solar - wave hybrid power generation system. A main factor reducing the efficiency of a Wave Energy Converter (WEC) is due to the attachment of aquatic life forms. Therefore the aim of this research is to develop a simulation programme to enable the design of more efficient EAFS for hybrid power generation systems and to provide valuable data for production of more efficient EAFS.
