A Study on the Seismic Performance Design of Waterproofing Materials Applied Single-side Walls on Underground Structures (지하 구조물 외벽에 적용되는 방수재료의 구조체 거동 및 진동 대응 성능 설계 제안 연구)

  • In this study, the possibility of seismic performance design was proposed and the quality verification test method was reviewed as part of the design of waterproof performance in underground walls under accelerated environment conditions for waterproofing materials, which are barrier and finishing material that can prevent ingress or overflowing water from inside and outside of a building by attaching all of the construction materials used in construction structures. Considering the current state of earthquake-resistant design of construction materials in Korea and abroad, seismic product groups are rare and mostly dependent on construction methods because there are no regulations on materials, although there are still regulations on earthquake-resistant design in the building process under the current law. Overseas, it was possible to confirm that various building materials that gave seismic performance to non-structural materials, such as Japan, Canada, and Germany, are being developed. If it is possible to have a complementary response to earthquakes in the advanced external waterproofing materials, it can be expected to be applicable as leak prevention and prevention technology along with the seismic designed structure.

EVA Sheet and Butyl Rubber based Waterproofing·Anti-Corrosion Sheet for Corrosion Maintenance and Repairing in the Interior Side of the Large Steel Pipes in Water Treatment Facilities (상수도용 대구경 녹 발생 강관 내부의 보수 및 성능 유지를 위한 EVA 시트와 부틸고무를 합지한 자착식 방수방식 시트의 부착성능 평가)

  • This study discusses the applicability of environmental friendly EVA based butyl rubber self-adhesive waterproof sheet designed to prevent corrosion of large scale pipes used in the water treatment facilities during th water treatment process. The experiments conducted tested the waterproofing sheet's adhesion strength on the steel surface of the pipes and checked for whether the material has the proper response properties against the various environmental conditions. In addition, it the sheet adhered to the steel pipe was to see if the adhesion hold against the water pressure due to the ingress of inflow water. Finally, the waterproofing sheet's adhesion strength was tested on a rusted steel surface to confirm whether the material has the necessary properties to secure stable adhesion strength and prevent corrosion of steel pipes at the same time during the process of installation or maintenance. As a result, the self-adhesive waterproof sheets showed that all attachments in the untreated, long term pressuring, immersion in chemical substance (hydrochloric acid, hypochlorous acid, sodium hydroxide), low temperature ($-20^{\circ}C$) conditions showed a adhesion performance of higher than 1.5N/mm, which is the performance standard of KS F 4934. Also, in the testing to check for the adhesion property against inverse water pressure, it was observed that the adhesion failure did not occur even up to $3.0N/mm^2$ pressure. Also, in the process of assessing the adhesion performance on rusted steel surface, specimens after 12 hours of corrosion treatment was shown to have 2.1N/mm, and specimens after 168 hours of corrosion treatment was shown to have 2.0N/mm adhesion strength performance.

  • This study is to examine adhesion the characteristics of self adhesive asphalt to minimize of the construction periods and the environmental problems through the performance estimation of materials to reduce waterproof problem and the long durability maintenance of building structures. This study tested the estimation items of self rubberized adhesive asphalt to examine the sheet discovered the most important problem in the construction site and the connection stability in the sheet joint. Besides, this study examined the material characteristics such as tension property, tear property, temperature dependence, heat resistance, adhesion stability and so on. Test results of the separative items satisfied in the reference figure of connection stability and adhesion stability which could confirm adhesion performances and other items also satisfied in the reference.

  • In these days, repair materials for leakage cannot help but being taken in temporary way without any noticeable countermeasure. This kind of repair is socially criticized many times that is defective construction even if tills costs a lot. It was not arrange the standard for performance evaluation test method and quality maintenance for materials, even it has been used various injection repairing agent. In conclusion, We suggest that the test method for repair materials for leakage to establish the leakage repairing technology as increase of structure demand, so that the necessity of the establishment of the quality control standard and the performance testing way on the relevant water-proof seal is increasing a lot to regulate the water-proof technology and the leakage repair technology.

  • Silicone rubber wire seals are widely used in automotive connector systems for waterproofing and so on. The purpose of this paper is to predict and evaluate the sealing performance of wire seals using finite element analysis. The material properties of the rubber seals were determined by the curve fitting of uniaxial tensile test and equibiaxial tensile test data. The response surface method was used to determine the optimum shape of the wire seal. In order to verify the accuracy and reliability of the simulations on the deformation prediction of wire seals, experiments were also carried out.

  • When we use the strain gauge in the high temperature water, lowering of insulation resistance between test material and gauge is the matter. The lowering makes the measurement unstable and is the primary factor of an error. This study devises the waterproofing method in empirically that has the best insulating property in the hot water($100^{\circ}C$), In this way, we can reach the conclusion that on the condition of a few hours we can measure precisely in the high temperature like normal temperature.

  • In recently, polishing tile(porcelain homogeneous polished tile) was used in the construction field as a finishing material. But, there happened some problems such as tile exfoliation by construction condition in early ages. Also, in the dry wall system which used to lightweight wall, for use of polishing tile on dry wall, the examination of adhesive stability of polishing tile is needed. In this Paper, adhesive strength of Polishing tile was investigated by tile bond types on gypsum board and non asbestos board coated by tar-urethane and polymer modified cementitious waterproofing membrane(Series I). Then, the effect of heat stress and vibration was estimated on gypsum and non asbestos board(Series II).

  • Due to various kind of waterproof materials and methods, which is difficult to select the most appropriate to waterworks. The materials used to prevent the deterioration of the service life is short, because of the chemical erosion. So, in the 2010 Office of Waterworks Seoul Metropolitan Government has set new standards. Recently, SMC panel is a trend that is being applied to water treatment facilities. However, SMC panel has not yet implemented a performance evaluation. Therefore, this study to confirm that satisfaction for the Office of Waterworks Seoul Metropolitan Government of the performance requirements, when the applied the SMC panel to water treatment structure.

  • Repair and strengthening is necessary to extend the service life of existing buildings. Polymer-modified cement mortar (PCM) has been extensively used as a high performance material particularly for finishing and repairing works in concrete building because of itsexcellent adhesion, waterproofing, resistance to chemical attack, and workability. As PCM contains organic polymer, it is necessary to clarify its properties at high temperature under fire, on which sufficient data are not available. This paper evaluated the burn-up characteristics of polymer-modified cement mortar with cone calorimeter test, non-combustibility test and flammability test with experimental parameters such as the types of polymer, unit-polymer content, polymer-cement ratio and thickness of the specimen.

  • In the construction industry, a variety of Root-Resistance Waterproofing Sheets ar being developed and studied. However, defects still occur in the sheet. In this study, the performance of the navigation is studied by Root-Resistance. As a result of the test, no piercing or penetration marks were found by root in all the specimens.
