한강 수계에서의 다차원 시변화 수리.수온 모델 연구 (Multidimensional Hydrodynamic and Water Temperature Modeling of Han River System)

  • Han River is a complex water system consisting of many lakes. The water quality of Lake Paldang is significantly affected by incoming flows, which are the South and North branches of the Han River, and the Kyungan Stream. In order to manage the water quality of the Lake Paldang, we should consider the entire water body where the incoming flows are included. The objectives of this study are to develop an integrated river and lake modeling system for Han River system using a multidimensional dynamic model and evaluate the model's performance against field measurement data. The integrated model was calibrated and verified using field measurement data obtained in 2007 and 2008. The model showed satisfactory performance in predicting temporal variations of water level, flow rate and temperature. The Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) for water temperature simulation were $0.88{\sim}2.13^{\circ}C$ (calibration period) and $1.05{\sim}2.00^{\circ}C$ (verification period) respectively. And Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) for water temperature simulation were 1089~0.98 (calibration period) and 0.90~0.98 (verification period). Utilizing the validated model, we analyzed the spatial and temporal distributions of temperature within Han River system. The variations of temperature along the river reaches and vertical thermal profiles for each lakes were effectively simulated with developed model. The suggested modeling system can be effectively used for integrated water quality management of water system consisting of many rivers and lakes.

GIS를 활용한 공장폐수 위탁관리시스템 구축 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Construction of Industrial Waste Water Trust Management System Using GIS)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 공단지역의 환경개선과 폐수위탁관리체계의 투명성을 확보하기 위해 GIS를 활용한 공장폐수 위탁관리 시스템의 구축방안에 대하여 연구하는데 있다. 공장폐수 위탁 및 수탁처리 전산관리 시스템은 공장폐수 위탁 및 수탁관련 정보 입력과 위탁확인서 출력을 위한 위탁 및 수탁 관리 시스템, 관리자가 기간별, 업종별, 폐수종류별, 업체별 위탁량을 통계분석 할 수 있는 통계분석 시스템, 위탁 업체 및 수탁업체의 공간정보와 공장폐수 위탁량 및 수탁량 분포도를 시민들에게 제공하는 WebGIS 시스템으로 구성하였다. 구축된 공장폐수 위탁관리시스템은 폐수의 발생 시점에서부터 완전 처리까지의 전 과정에서의 정확하고 확실하게 파악할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 업무의 전산화로 업무처리 시 발생되는 시간적, 경제적 손실을 저감할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. 또한 공장폐수에 대한 정확한 발생량을 관리함으로써 인천지역에서 발생되는 수질오염사고를 사전에 예방하고 오염사고 발생 시 신속한 대처방안을 도출 할 수 있을 것으로 판단된다. WebGIS를 이용`한 공장폐수의 위탁량 및 수탁량 분포를 관리함으로써 시민들의 환경오염에 대한 생각을 고취시키고 지속적인 관리가 가능 할 것으로 판단된다.

정수장내 염소요구량 자동결정시스템 개발 (Development of Automatic Decision System for Chlorination Demand in Water Treatment Plant)

  • Chlorination dosage in water treatment plant of field is determined by chlorination demand experiment through two or three hours after raw water was sampled in inflow. It is impossible to continuously control for real time because the sampled water is adapted chlorination dosage after water treatment process had been proceeded. Therefore in this study, we will design informal chlorination demand system, this designed system will be experimented as to water quality and accuracy of control in various conditions. Throughout these experimental results, we will revise the system and the revised system is enable to optimal control of chlorination dosage. Finally, we have developed chlorination demand system, which can automatically determination of chlorination dosage to be determined according to variety of raw water quality inflow in water treatment plant.

건축설비용 워터햄머흡수기의 동특성에 관한 수치 연구 (A Numerical Study on the Dynamic Characteristics of Water Hammer Arresters for Building Service Applications)

  • Dynamic characteristics of water hammer arresters installed in a building water supply system have been investigated numerically by utilizing a commercial rode that employs the method of characteristics. Some preliminary results with those arresters produced in this study agree well with the previously reported. Then, the arresters have been incorporated into a water supply pipe system of a $59m^2$ apartment unit constructed by a leading construction company, and their dynamic characteristics, especially on the reduction in the water hammer pressure, are investigated. It is found that the setting of the arresters in the pipe system, which is recommended by the company, may not be proper for reducing the pressure to less than 1082.0 kPa when buick-closure valves in the pipe system are closed within 30 ms at the static pressure of 542.6 kPa. More arresters in the system may be required to meet a pressure criteria.

  • Recently, we often encounter water shortage problem due to drought during dry season. Although we have built dams and expanded our tap water system greatly to meet the increasing demand of water, this approach has its inherent limitation including environmental destruction in the course of the dam construction. Therefore, this paper is aimed to analyze the water recycling models developed in other countries and modify them to fit into our system. Also the water recycling system in Busan municipal area was analyzed to propose an alternative method for reusing the recycled water from wastewater treatment area.

System Development for the estimation of Pollutant Loads on Reservoir

  • An integrated system of GIS and water quality model was suggested including the pollutant loads from the watershed. The developed system consits of two parts. First part is the information on landuse and several surface factors concerning the overland flow processes of water and pollutants. Second part is the modeling modules which include storm event pollutant load model(SEPLM), non-storm event pollutant load model(NSPLM), and river water quality simulation model(RWQSM). Models can calculate the pollutant load from the study area. The databases and models are linked through the interface modules resided in the overall system, which incorporate the graphical display modules and the operating scheme for the optimal use of the system. The developed system was applied to the Chungju multi-purpose reservoir to estimate the pollutant load during the four selected rainfall events between 1991 and 1993, based upon monthly basis and seasonal basis in drought flow, low flow, normal flow and wet flow.

  • In 2000 FFIA , FIA, RDC are united into new corporation. This corporation will manage rural water with TM/TC(Tele-Monitoring/Tele-Control) system. Most systems which were adopted in TM/TC system were Closed Control System which use exclusive network and protocol . Closed Control System can not support new corporation's requirement in water management system. Therefore, new corporation should adopt Open Control System as standard rural water management system. Open Control System support Fieldbus technology, TCP/IP various protocols, programming model, OPC which is essential to the water management program, and so on.

낙동강 수질관리 방안-하수분리 무방류시스템의 개념적 고찰 (A Conceptual Zero-Discharge System for Water Quality Management of the Nak-Dong River)

  • From water management point of view, the industrialization that we have achieved in the last decades brought out two major changes: water shortage and water quality deterioration. They are getting the big obstacles we must overcome to continuously pursue industrialization for further development in the next century. Many plans using dams and advanced treatment methods have been developed for control of quantity and quality, respectively. In this paper, an alternative is conceptually reviewed which is much different from the plans in regard that the alternative looks at system itself. It is based on an interceptor system coupling with a concept of zero-discharge. This system allows no discharge of wastewaters from point-sources to waterbodies which are very sensitive in terms of water quality. In addition reuse of treated effluents is emphasized to a maximum extent. The application of the system to the Nak-Dong river basin indicated that an interceptor system will need from the middle reaches of the basin where industrialization gets heavier. Since wastewaters are not directly discharged to the river, water quality of the down stream will improve. Treated effluents will be able to be reused at a number of industrial complex which currently get water from the Nak-Dong river. This reuse will help alleviate water shortage. The biggest problem anticipated is cost for building and operating such system. A cost-sharing plan among the beneficiaries is considered. Further research is suggested focusing on detailed engineering and technical matters for potential implementation.

Layered System의 아웃도어 의류에의 적용 - 수분전달 특성을 중심으로 - (Application of Layered System to the Outdoor Clothing - Through Water Vapor Permeability -)

  • The aim of this study is to find out comfortable combinations of layered system for outdoor activities through water vapor permeability. Layering fabrics is an effective way of controlling water transport properties in fabric systems for outdoor activities and analysis of these systems may be useful for designing comfortable clothing. Seven fabrics were chosen for the experiments: two fabrics for base layer, two for the middle layer and three for the shell layer. A total of 12 different layered systems, which are all possible combinations were established using selected fabrics. The water vapor permeability was measured using JIS L1099 under isothermal and non-isothermal conditions. It was found that layered system was working together as a whole having influence on each layer, though every layer offers varying degree of water vapor permeability. Furthermore, it was also found that an optimal combination of the three layered system does exist although the combination may differ according to the ways. The shell layer is the greatest effect of water vapor permeability under isothermal and non-isothermal conditions within layered system.
