농업시설 난방을 위한 축산폐기물의 고형 연료화 연구 (Study on the Development of Solid Fuel of Animal Wastes for Heating of Agricultural Facilities)

  • This study was carried out to obtain the basic data for the development of the solid fuel with investigating the characteristics of mixtures of animal wastes and wasted coal and supply it as an energy resource to agricultural farms for heating of agricultural facilities. It was investigated for the characteristics of animal wastes (swine waste, swine waste with sawdust, cattle waste), wasted coal, the mixtures of animal wastes and wasted coal with or without mixing seawater. The characteristics of solid fuel according to the mixture ratio of animal wastes and wasted coal were analyzed. The effects of seawater affecting on calorific value and thermal pyrolysis of solid fuels were investigated. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The calorific value was improved with mixing seawater into wasted coal due to chemical reaction. 2) The diverse solid fuels of various calorific values can be made with adjusting the ratio of animal wastes and wasted coal. 3) Animal wastes and wasted coal had each different reaction temperature of thermal pyrolysis and the decreasing rate of weight. 4) The mixture of animal wastes and wasted coal would be ignited easily. Therefore, the solid fuel could be ignited more conveniently when seawater is mixed with it.

A Study on the Thermal and Chemical Characteristics of Wasted Coal for the Development of Low Cost Fuel

  • The seawater involving diverse chemical elements was mixed with wasted coals to improve the quality. The thermal and chemical characteristics of these seawater-mixed coals were investigated and compared with those of original coals. The contents of MgO, $Na_2O$, and $K_2O$ were increased by mixing seawater in wasted coals. The content of $Na_2O$ in these coal samples was greatly increased due to the sodium, which was the main component of seawater. Thus, it was expected that fusion temperatures of these coal samples were decreased. Coal samples mixed with seawater showed that the rapid weight loss was started at the lower temperature than those of original coal samples. In these coal samples, the temperatures of maximum heat emission were lowered by average $61^{\circ}C.$. Thus, it is suggested that some chemical constituents of the seawater act an important role on lowering the ignition temperature of wasted coal. By mixing seawater into wasted coals, the calorific values were increased. Especially, calorific values were greatly increased in the coal samples of lower quality as Baksan A and B with the improvement of 15~20%.

석유화학폐수슬러지와 유기성 폐기물 혼합에 의한 연소특성 및 고형연료 폐기물화 재활용에 관한 연구 (A Study on Combustion Characteristics and Evaluating of RDFs(Refused Derived Fuels) from Mixture of Petrochemical Wastewater Sludge and Organic Matters)

  • This objectives of research are to figure out combustion characteristics with increasing temperature with petrochemical sludge by adding wasted organic matters which are waste electric wire, anthracite coal and sawdust, and to exam heating value and ignition temperature for using refused derived fuels(RDFs). After analyzing TGA/DTG, petrochemical sludge shows a rapid weight reduction by vaporing of inner moisture after $170^{\circ}C$. Gross weight reduction rate, ignition temperature and combustion rates represent 68.6%, $221.9^{\circ}C$ and 54.1%, respectively. In order to assess the validity of the RDFs, the petrochemical sludge by adding wasted organic matters which are waste electric wire, anthracite coal and waste sawdust. The materials are mixed with 7:3(petrochemical sludge : organic matters)(wt%), and it analyzes after below 10% of moisture content. The ignition temperatures and combustion rates of the waste electric wire, anthracite coal and waste sawdust are $410.6^{\circ}C$, $596.1^{\circ}C$ and $284.1^{\circ}C$, and 85.6%, 30.7% and 88.8% respectively. In heating values, petrochemical sludge is 3,600 kcal/kg. And the heating values of mixed sludge (adding 30% of the waste electric wire, anthracite coal and waste sawdust) each increase up to 4,600 kcal/kg, 4,100 kcal/kg and 4,300 kcal/kg. It improves the ignition temperatures and combustion rates by mixing petrochemical sludge and organic matters. It is considered that the production of RDFs is sufficiently possible by using of petrochemical sludge by mixing wasted organic matters.

석탄화력발전소에서 폐플라스틱고형연료(RPF)의 혼소 연구 (Co-combustion of RPF in the Coal Power plant)

  • The co-combustion of coal and RPF(Refuse Plastic Fuel) mixture has been experimented in a commercially operating CFB coal boiler and the emissions such as SOx, NOx, TSP and dioxine were measured at the stack. The experimented RPF was supplied by domestic RPF company that is commercially producing RPF pellet from the wasted plastics. Up to 15% of total coal was substituted to RPF and no trouble was happened during normal boiler operation. SOx and NOx concentration was reduced about $15{\sim}20$% and TSP(Total Suspended Particle) was drastically reduced about 30% during co-combustion. Dioxine concentration at mixing ratio of 7.5% was $0.0487ng{\sim}TEQ/Sm^3$ ($O_2$, 12%) that satisfied governmental emission regulation.

  • Recycling of coal combustion by-product(Ash) are becoming more important in the utilization business as a result of the increased use of NOx reduction technologies at coal-fired power plants. current disposal methods of these by-products create not only a loss of profit for the power industry, but also environmental concerns that breed negative public opinion. Since inherent characteristics make these by-product suitable for building materials, several types of artificial aggregates and construction bricks are manufactured and tested to verify the engineering properties.

플라이애시 품질이 시멘트 페이스트 레올로지 특성에 미치는 영향 (Influence of Fly Ash Quality on Rheological Properties of Cement Paste)

  • 플라이애시는 시멘트 계열 재료의 혼화재료로서 널리 사용되고 있는 재료이다. 다만, 플라이애시는 화력발전소의 석탄재를 포집하여 정제과정을 거친 재료로서 정제과정의 에너지 소모 및 유통과정에서의 품질 확보가 중요하다. 이에 본 연구에서는 플라이애시 생산과정 중 발생하는 세 가지 종류의 다른 품질의 석탄재를 대상으로 각각의 입자조건과 시멘트 페이스트 상태에서 레올로지 거동을 평가하였다. 실험결과 리젝트 애시는 작은 석탄재 입자가 응집되어 굳어진 다공질의 큰 입자로 구성되어 있었고, 그러한 이유로 시멘트 페이스트에 포함될 경우 공기량이 높게 측정되는 경향이 나타났다. 유동성 측면에서는 석탄재가 치환되는 경우 유동성이 증진되는 양상을 보였으며 특히 점도 측면에서는 입자조건에 따라 점도를 조정할 수도 있었다.

  • 본 연구에서는 순간 고온식 tubing-bomb reactor를 사용하여 41$0^{\circ}C$에서 Aaska산 아역청탄, 페타이어, 폴리프로필렌 혼합물의 공동액화 시 반응기구 및 상승효과를 규명하고, 37$0^{\circ}C$~45$0^{\circ}C$의 온도범위에서 실험을 통하여 공동액화모델의 유효성을 실증하였다. 이 때 공동액화반응은 non-linear parameter estimation method에 의해 모사되었으며 실험값과 계산값의 상관계수는 0.99로서 부합도가 높았다. 또한 무촉매 반응에서는 tetralin의 첨가량을 증가시키면 폴리프로필렌의 액화가 저하되어 액화율이 감소되는 경향을 보였으나, Mo, Co와 Fe의 naphthenate계 촉매가 첨가된 반응에서는 3가지 촉매의 경우 모두 tetralin의 첨가량이 증가함에도 폴리프로필렌의 액화가 증진되면서 공동액화율이 상승하는 경향을 나타내었으며, 특히 Co-naphthenate의 경우 21~23%의 높은 상승효과를 보였다.

  • The radiative heat transfer analysis in the fluidized particles layer has important application in many technological areas such as combustion chambers at high pressure and temperature, plasma generators for nuclear fusion, MHD generator using pulverized coal and the liquid droplet radiator used to reject wasted heat from a power plant operating in space. To accurately model the radiation properties of the fluidized particles layer, it is necessary to know the radiation interchange factors of particles in each layer. But the solutions are usually not possible for the equations of radiative heat transfer because it has an inherent difficulty in treating the governing intergo- differential equations, which are derived from the remote effects of radiative heat transfer. In this study, the analysis uses the Monte Carlo simulation method with optical depth model to calculate the radiation interchange factors of particles in each layer with wall and with each other.

  • The world is facing a serious energy problem which destroying the environment. In addition, fossil fuel such as oil and coal that caused global warming and the environmental problems due to acid rain had been gradually exhausted. To solve this problem that has crisis of energy, it is necessary time and effort for research and development of renewable energy in the future. As alternative energy, small hydropower generation which has output of less or equal to 100kW is attracting considerable attention. This is because of its small, simple, renewable, and large amount of energy resources. By using a small hydropower generator of which main concept is based on using the different water pressure levels in pipe lines, energy which was initially wasted by use reducing of a valve at the end of the pipeline, is collected by turbine in the small hydropower generator. In this study, we investigated the influence of the number of runner vanes on the characteristics of tubular-type hydroturbine.

  • 산업부산물 중 석탄회는 전체배출량의 약 30%가 재활용되지 못하고 매립되고 있으며, 매립에 따른 비용 등의 문제가 심각하다. 국내 석탄회 중에서 비회는 건설재료로서 재활용되나, 매립회는 대부분 재활용되지 못하고 매립되고 있다. 본 연구에서 석탄회를 활용하여 개발한 경량기포유동화재는 기존의 유동화재에 기포를 더하여 단위중량을 낮추었으며, 교대 및 옹벽 등의 뒷채움에 적용가능한 경량성과 유동성을 지닌 재료이다. 또한, 단위중량, 일축압축강도, 플로우 시험 등과 같은 실내시험을 통해 적용성을 검토하였다. 시험결과 매립회와 비회의 혼합비 70:30~50:50에서, 기포량 각각 2~3%, 함수량 26.5~29.5% 범위에서 단위중량기준 $12{\sim}15kN/m^3$, 일축압축강도기준 0.8~1.2MPa, 플로우기준 20cm 이상을 만족하는 것으로 나타났다.
