Testing The Healing Environment Conditions for Nurses with two Independent Variables: Visibility Enhancement along with Shortening the Walking Distance of the Nurses to Patient - Focused on LogWare stop sequence and space syntax for U-Shape, L- Shape and I-Shape NS-

  • Purpose: Maximizing human comfort in design of medical environments depends immensely on specialized architects particularly critical care design; the study proposes Evidence-Based Design as an apparent analog to Evidence-Based Medicine. Healthcare facility designs are substantially based on the findings of study in an effort to design environments that augment care by improving patient safety and being therapeutic. On SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) t-test is applied to simulate two independent variables of PDR (Pre Design-Research) and POE (Post- Occupancy Evaluation). PDR is conducted on relatively new hospital Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital to analyse visibility from researchers' point of view, here the ICU is arranged in I-Shape. POE is applied on Dongguk University Ilsan Hospital to simulate walking on LogWare where two NS are designed based on L- Shape and Seoul St. Mary's Hospital, The Catholic University of Korea where five NS are functional for ICU Intensive Care Unit, Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), Critical Care Unit (CCU), Korean Oriental Medical Care Unit which are mostly arranged in U-Shape, and walking pattern is recognized to be in a zigzag path. Method: T-Test is applied on two dependent communication variables: walkability and visibility, with confidence interval of 95%. This study systematically analyses the Nurse Station (NS) typo-morphology, and simulates nurse horizontal circulation, by computing round route visits to patient's bed, then estimating minimum round route on LogWare stop sequence software. The visual connectivity is measured on depth map graphs. Hence the aim is to reduce staff stress and fatigue for better patients care by minimizing staff horizontal travel time and to facilitate nurse walk path and support space distribution by increasing effectiveness in delivering care. Result: Applying visibility graph and isovist field on space syntax on I- Shape, L- Shape and U- Shape ICU (SICU, MICU and CCU) configuration, I-shape facilitated 20% more patients in linear view as they stir to rise from their beds from nurse station compared to U-shape. In conclusion, it was proved that U-Shape supply minimum walking and maximum visibility; and L shape provides just visibility as the nurse is at pivot. I shape provides panoramic view from the Nurse Station but very rigorous walking.

화상인식을 이용한 시각장애인용 보행보조장치 (Ambulatory Aid Device for the Visually Handicapped Person Using Image Recognition)

  • This paper presents the device of recognizing image of the studded paving blocks, transmitting, the information by vibration to a visually handicapped person. Usually the blind uses the walking stick to recognize the studded paving block. This research uses a PCA (Principal Component Analysis) based image processing approach for recognizing the paving blocks. We classify the studded paving blocks into 5 classes, that is, vertical line block, right-declined line block, left-declined line block, dotted block and flat block. The 8 images for each of 5 classes are captured for each block by 112*120 pixels, then the eigenvectors are obtained in magnitude order of eigenvectors by using principal component analysis. The principal components for images can be calculated using projection of transformation matrix composed of eigenvectors. The classification has been executed using Euclidean's distance, so the block having minimum distance with a image is chosen as matched one. The result of classification is transmitted to the blind by electric vibration signals with different magnitudes and frequencies.

뇌경색 환자에게 실행한 한방음악치료 전후(前後)의 Ink foot print analysis 1례 (The Effectiveness of Ink Foot Print Analysis by Using Pre-post Oriental Medicine Music Therapy on Patient One Case with Cerebral Infarction)

  • Objectives : Oriental Medicine Music Therapy is a new way of treating and preventing various diseases and promoting health by means of music specially picked and designed to produce Qi(氣) fitting to an individual person in the areas of the structure of human body, physiological function, pathological change, diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, it can facilitate the efficiency of the treatment much better and faster than only with herb or acupuncture. Equilibrium between body and mind is its originality. Methods : A 38-year old man came to hospital suffering from left side weakness, dysarthria because of cerebral infarction. After one week's medication in the part of neurology, he was sent to the oriental medicine music therapy center, and he took ten times' medical treatments once a day. Before and after the treatments, implementing 'Ink foot print analysis', as for the movement capacity and walking of left side weakness, these results are acquired. Results and Conclusions : 1. Before the oriental medicine music therapy, except the acceleration and deceleration section, within three meters, a right foot's step was measured 30.55 cm and a left foot was measured 15.2 cm, and the step distance was 15.2 cm. After the 10 times treatments, the right foot's step was 112.6 cm, the left foot's step was 113 cm, and the step distance improved to 51.8 cm. 2. The normal person's average step is about 38 cm, and it could be decreased owing to a decreptitude, pain, fatigue, and the weakness of the legs. In spite of all, from the increased 50 cm step measurement with the patient's body condition, it means that his movement capacity is recovered. 3. In the measurement of walking time, before 10 times treatments, it took 46.35 seconds within 6M, but after the treatments, it increased to 7.47 seconds as same as a normal person's walking speed. 4. In insomnia, and the abnormality of a facial muscle, it shows lots of improvement, and even the accuracy of a pronunciation, but despite of the 10 times treatments, the 'ㄹ(r)' sound placed under a vowel is unclear. 5. Before the 10 times' treatments, he can move the left side shoulder with pain and cannot move below the left elbow. After the treatments, the pain was disappeared, and he was able to move over 60 cm without pain. And improving of the movement of fingers, he can beat over 8 times with a drumstick.

The Urban Parks and Rivers Contribute to the Citizen Satisfaction and Utilization in Uijeongbu City

  • This research aimed at measuring Park and Green Satisfaction (PGS) using subjective indicators of 'surface, line and spot' green evaluated by citizens. Also frequency of visits to park and green measured using objective indicators (number of visits) to find the relationship with PGS. A conceptual model of PGS was developed to relate evaluation to satisfaction and finally to utilization of open spaces. A sample of 500 questionnaire survey was employed for Uijeongbu City in Korea. A Structual Equation Modeling (AMOS) techniques was used to test the hypothesized relationship among factors (construct). As a result, first, PGS was explained by three latent factors of 'urban park' (${\gamma}=0.54$), 'linear facilities' (${\gamma}=0.25$), and 'surface green' (${\gamma}=0.15$) respectively. These three exogenous construct was found very useful classification system for open spaces of cities. Second, PGS (${\gamma}=0.34$) was found as a mediating variable to utilization of open spaces and also PGS was closely related to citizens Environmental Quality Satisfaction (EQS), such concept as, 'livability' and 'aesthetic quality'. The more satisfied with park and green the more people use the space. The PGS was an important QOL indicator together with the subjective indicator of 'livability'. Third, jogging and walking trails and bike ways along the river corridor was the most important green facilities contribute to the PGS and EQS. The near the distance (within 500m) the more number of visit to river corridor (green way). The river corridor promote accessibility to nature and other parks.

근린공원 환경의 만족도가 신체활동과 건강에 미치는 영향 - 창원시 성산구와 의창구를 대상으로 - (Effect of Satisfaction in Neighborhood Park Environments on Physical Activity and Health - The Case of Seongsan-gu and Uichang-gu in Changwon City -)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 경상남도 창원시를 대상으로 근린공원 환경에 대한 만족도가 신체활동과 건강증진 목적의 공원이용횟수와 체질량지수(BMI)에 의한 건강수준에 미치는 영향을 분석하는 것이다. 설문조사는 창원시 성산구와 의창구 도심지역에 분포하는 8개 근린공원의 이용자와 그 주변에 거주하는 429명의 주민들을 대상으로 실시하였고, 설문분석은 근린공원 환경에 대한 만족도가 신체활동과 건강에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 일대일대응 선형회귀분석을 활용하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면, 공원을 이용하지 않는 주된 이유는 시간적 여유의 부족, 공원까지의 이동거리와 소요시간, 공원 내 이용시설의 부족 등이고, 공원을 이용하는 주된 이유는 공원까지의 접근성, 걷기 또는 산책, 휴식시설, 수목이나 그늘, 운동공간의 다양성 등으로 나타났다. 공원 이용자의 경우, 공원에서 걷기나 산책을 가장 많이 하고, 주 2회 이상 평균 10분 정도 걸어가서 1시간 정도 운동을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 공원과 그 주변의 물리적 환경 중에서 집에서 공원까지의 거리와 이동하는 가로 환경에 대한 만족도가 높았고, 공원 내 수공간이나 볼거리 등에 대한 만족도가 낮게 나타났다. 다음으로, 운동목적의 공원이용 여부, 공원이용시간, 공원이용의 만족도와 건강증진 효과, 공원까지의 거리, 따른 건강증진 효과만이 유의수준 10% 이내에서 상호관련성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 향후에도 공원의 신체활동과 건강 증진 효과에 대한 실증적 사례노약자들의 공원이용 편이성 등이 유의수준 5% 이내에서 신체활동과 건강증진 목적의 공원이용횟수에 긍정적인 영향을 보였고, 체질량지수와는 공원이용에 를 지속적으로 축적해 나갈 필요가 있으며, 이를 통해서 각종 개발용도로 전환되거나 그 면적이 축소되고 있는 도시지역의 공원 및 녹지공간을 보전 확대시켜 나가고, 신체활동 및 건강증진 장소로서의 기능을 제고하기 위한 공원계획 설계 요소를 도출하는데 근거 자료를 제공하는 것이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

직물의 마찰음에 대한 감성 평가 및 예측 시스템 개발 (Development of an Affective Quality Evaluation and Estimation System for Fabric Frictional Sound)

  • Research has been conducted to examine the effects of mechanical and sound characteristics of fabrics on affective quality. The present study developed the Affective Quality Evaluation and Estimation System for Textiles (AQEEST) with distinguished features that can be effectively used in the affective research of fabric frictional sound. The AQEEST consists of three subsystems (affective quality evaluation, affective quality estimation, and audible distance estimation subsystems) and each subsystem consists of three to four modules (e.g., evaluation condition setup, evaluation experimentation, and textile database management modules) depending on its functional requirements. The affective quality evaluation subsystem was designed to help administer an experiment in a systematic manner and present acoustic and visual stimuli simultaneously in various gait conditions (walking, jogging, and running) to mimic a more realistic situation of textile frictional sound production. Next, the affective quality estimation subsystem was designed to estimate the sound characteristics, affective qualities, overall psychological satisfaction, and reference cluster of a textile using its mechanical and/or sound characteristic information. Lastly, the audible distance estimation subsystem was designed to estimate the just noticeable sound pressure levels and audible distances of a textile for various gait conditions using its mechanical characteristic information. The AQEEST can be upgraded by accommodating more affective quality study results for various textiles.

실외환경에서의 이동 목표 추종용 로봇의 개발 (Development of The Moving Target Tracking Robot in Outdoor Environment)

  • In a park or street, we can see many people jogging or walking with their dogs tracking their masters. In this study, an entertainment robot that imitates a dog's behavior is created. The robot's task is tracking a moving target that is recognized as the master. In order to design the robot, the ecological approach. in which the robot's goals and surroundings heavily influence its design, is used. A three-wheel type locomotion system is designed as the robot's physical structure which can follow a human jogging in outdoor space like a park. A sensor system which can detect the position of a master for the robot in the outdoor space, is developed. This sensor system consists of a signal transmitter which is at the hand of a master and some sensors which are mounted on the robot. The transmitter emits RF(radio frequency) and ultrasonic signals and the sensors detect the direction and distance from the robot to the transmitter by using the received signals. For the control architecture of the robot, a purely reactive behavior-based method is used in order to increase speed of response. The developed robot is evaluated through experiments conducted in indoor and outdoor environments.

  • In a park or street, we can see many people jogging or walking with their dogs that are chasing their masters. In this study, a pet robot that imitates dog's behavior is developed. The task of robot is to chase a person who is recognized as the master. The physical structure and the sensor system are designed for the task and environment. A three-wheel type locomotion system is designed as the robot's physical structure which can follow a person who is jogging in outdoor environment like a park. A sensor system, which can detect relative position of the master to the robot in highly dynamic and hazardous worlds, is developed. This sensor system consists of a signal transmitter which is held by the master and ultrasonic sensor array which are mounted on the robot. The transmitter emits RF (radio frequency) and ultrasonic signals simultaneously. The ultrasonic sensor array detects the signals and calculates direction and distance between the robot and the transmitter. The developed RF-ultrasonic sensor is evaluated through experiments. A purely reactive behavior-based control architecture is used for the robot. The behavior control performance of the robot is assessed in outdoor and indoor tests.

  • 본 논문은 슬관절 손상 환자의 하지근력 강화 재활훈련 장치에서 다리를 끌어주는 견인모터의 속도 프로파일을 휴머노이드 로봇 시뮬레이션을 통해 계산하는 방법을 새롭게 제안한다. 먼저 인체의 구조를 본 딴 휴머노이드 로봇의 3차원 전신 모델을 새롭게 구축하고, 표준 관절각도 데이터를 이 모델에 적용하여 자연스러운 보행을 시뮬레이션 했다. 그리고 하지의 대퇴부에 부착되어 있는 벨트와 견인모터와의 거리를 매 샘플링 타임에서 계산하여 이로부터 속도 프로파일을 도출하는 방식으로 보행 중 속도 파형을 생성한다. 휴머노이드 로봇의 기구학적 방법으로는 직진 보행에서 계산량이 적은 투영법을 사용했으며, 유각기의 관절 각도 프로파일은 Winter의 표준보행 데이터를 참조했다. 본 논문에서 제안한 방법으로 계산된 인체 특정부위 속도 프로파일은 제작 중인 트레드밀 재활훈련 장치에 적용될 예정이다.

보행접근성 분석에 기반한 근린공원의 공원서비스 평가 - 성남시 분당구를 대상으로 - (Evaluation of Park Service in Neighborhood Parks based on the Analysis of Walking Accessibility - Focused on Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si -)

  • 도시화가 진행되면서 공원녹지에 대한 수요는 증가하고 있다. 공원녹지는 도시 내에서 사람들이 자유롭게 옥외활동을 할 수 있는 공간으로 인식되고 있어 중요한 공간이다. 공원서비스 권역은 거리를 기반으로 어느 범위까지 서비스를 제공하고 있는지를 보여주는 척도이다. 이 과정에서 접근성이라는 개념은 중요하게 작용하며 특히 보행은 사람의 가장 기본적인 이동수단으로서 공원 이용에 많은 영향을 미치고 있다. 하지만 현재 공원서비스 권역 분석은 소외지역을 발견하는 것에 중점을 두고 있어 수혜지역에 대한 세부적인 평가는 미비한 상황이다. 본 연구에서는 보행네트워크의 보행접근성을 바탕으로 공원서비스 권역을 평가하고자 한다. 공원서비스는 이용자가 직접 공원을 방문함으로써 발생하는 서비스로서 접근성이 이용 가능성으로 나타날 것으로 판단된다. 보행네트워크의 정량화를 위하여 본 연구에서는 공간구문론을 활용하여 통합도 값을 바탕으로 보행접근성 분석을 진행하였다. 통합도 값은 보행네트워크의 접근성 정도를 수치화하여 보여주는 지표로서 본 연구에서는 통합도 값이 높을수록 공원 이용 가능성이 높다고 해석하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 분당구의 공원서비스 권역은 43%를 차지하고 있으며, 보행접근성이 높은 구간이 대부분 포함되어 있지만 일부 보행접근성이 좋은 구간은 제외되어 있다. 이는 도시계획 과정에서 주거지역과 상업 및 업무 지역이 우선적으로 지정되고 그 후에 공원녹지 지역이 선정되는 과정에서 나타나는 현상으로 볼 수 있다. 둘째, 분당구를 기준으로 공원서비스 권역 및 공원서비스 권역 내 보행접근성을 법정동별로 분류하였다. 개별 법정동 별로 차이가 나타나며, 이에 따른 공원에 대한 이용 가능성이 다르게 나타날 것으로 예상된다. 또한, 같은 도시계획 과정에서 만들어진 지역이라도 보행접근성에 따른 공원서비스 권역의 평가는 차이가 나타났다. 이를 활용하여 생활권 계획에 반영될 수 있는 개별 동 단위의 평가가 가능하며 추후 이를 반영한 공원녹지 정책에서 유용한 지표로 활용될 수 있다.
