  • The two-phase locking protocol(2PL) is the most widely-used concurrency control mechanism for guaranteeing logical consistency of data in a database environment where a number of transactions perform concurrently. The problem inherent in the 2PL protocol is a deadlock, where a set of transactions holding some locks indefinitely wait an additional lock that is already held by other transactions in the set. The deadlock detector is a DBMS sub-component that examines periodically whether a system is in a deadlock state based on lock waiting information of transactions. The deadlock detector and transactions execute concurrently in a DBMS and read and/or write the lock waiting information simultaneously. Since the lock waiting information is a shared one, we need an efficient method guaranteeing its physical consistency by using mutual exclusion. The efficiency of the mutual exclusion method is crucial especially in a main memory DBMS with high performance since it seriously affects the performance of an entire system. In this paper, we propose a new method that effectively guarantees physical consistency of lock waiting information. Two primary goals of our method are to minimize the processing overhead and to maximize system concurrency.

  • The most pivotal approach to improve subway indoor air quality (IAQ) is to examine the emission sources and particulate behavior. Therefore, the main objective of this study is to investigate the particulate behavior in the subway. In order to examine IAQ in the subway, a sampling and measurement campaign was carried out for 35 sites during the summer and winter seasons from May, 2005 to February, 2006. In case of 24 hour measurement, the mean concentrations ($PM_{10}$-24 hr) of platform and waiting room were $156.18{\pm}53.79{\mu}g/m^3$ and $111.00{\pm}53.31{\mu}g/ m^3$. Besides, as a result of 20 hour measurement, the mean concentrations ($PM_{10}$-20 hr) of platform and waiting room were $146.09{\pm}53.71{\mu}g/m^3$ and $99.08{\pm}42.77{\mu}g/m^3$, respectively. In general, $PM_{10}$-24 hr was higher than $PM_{10}$-20 hr, and both PM concentrations showed a high correlation coefficient (r=0.803). It was found that the $PM_{2.5}$ concentration ($l09.56{\pm}28.24{\mu}g/m^3$) in winter was higher than that ($83.66{\pm}57.82{\mu}g/m^3$) in summer.

  • Recently, the Korean medical system changed with diversification & specialization and the field of medical service is also specialized in these days. And healing environment is proposed as a general concept in the hospital architecture. There is a trend that a establishment of women's hospital is increasing as specialized type. In difference from general hospital, they are providing specialized and integrated services in response to the women's disease and demand. Particularly, Outpatient department space in women's hospital has been changed in terms of area, shape and program. However, there used to be not enough research efforts of responding these changes. This study includes the Outpatient department of s women's hospital in the form of small and medium sized building over a certain level in Korea. And the methods of the study adopted the theoric examination based concept and features of women's hospital, the abstraction of distinctions in the Outpatient department through the analysis of the drawing, and the analysis of distinctions in the Outpatient department of women's hospital with the structural space classified and the analysis of space relation. Therefore, the purpose of this is to study investigates and analyzes the spatial characteristics of the Outpatient department space in women's hospital through a analysis of case study. To conclude, the space composition can be classified into the entry space, the clinic space for patients, the support space of patients' check-up, the reception and waiting space, the rest and convenience space, and the link space in the Outpatient department of women's hospital. The level space can account for the waiting space type, the clinic office type, the type based on the relation between the waiting room and the clinic office with its features. As a result, the results will be applied for the planning & design for the future women's hospital.

  • The purpose of study is provide the basic data for set up proper illuminance of examination room that put purpose of an empirical study basic data about examination environment setting of the ultrasonic examination on design the examination environment of a new ultrasonic examination. As a method, to investigate the ultrasonic environment related to illumination to take a survey on the ultrasonic examination about test object to 48 parts of six units of general hospital in Busan. As a result, All Door + Curtain showed high scores in analyzing the gender, age, examination part in the case of ultrasonic examination room shielding and LED and light source control is required in the case of kind of light source. In the ultrasonic examination environment survey, the illuminance brightness is average 10 Lux which is included illuminance brightness range recommended the WHO and CEC and illuminance brightness of ultrasonic examination waiting room(ultrasonic examination waiting room, corridor) indicate average 300~800 Lux and it satisfied hospital illumination environment more than 300 Lux recommended by KSA 3011. In conclusion, Basic data suggested that improved future ultrasonic examination environment or designed new examination room on the basis of analysis result of general background and ultrasonic examination related to environment factor.

  • The contemporary society needs complex space for multiple function. Interior space plan should suggest the solution of the narrow site and process for multiple function through showing the examples of other functional spaces. The purpose of this study is choosing an express station which has wide site and cultural exchange function, while it is not used for specific function and then the waiting room of station adapted for cultural and multiple functional space.

  • Ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) is a technique that enables active metabolism of the lung by creating an environment similar to that inside the body, even though the explanted lungs are outside the body. The EVLP system enables the use of lung grafts that do not satisfy the acceptance criteria for lung transplantation (LTx) by making it possible to evaluate the function of the lung grafts and repair lungs in poor condition, thereby reducing the waiting time of patients requiring LTx and consequently mortality.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest a scheme to provide children safer and more comfortable walking circumstances by survey current walking circumstances of schoolzone ways. A scheme suggested in this study was based on the analysis of survey to elementary school in 3 Newtowns(Dongtan, Dongbaek and Gumdan City) and actually surveyed data on school zone, the scheme can be summed up as follows; First, to avoid pedestrian roads being interrupted and to expend waiting space near schoolzone ways, several measures are needed including fixing roads and building additional gateway. Second, pedestrian crossings in front of school gate should be located at least 30m away from the left side of the gate. Third, to secure pedestrians' safety in school zone ways should be planed and established more security concepts und facilities.

  • A concurrent computation model Doorae and its description language DL are developed to model problems of parallel and distributed systems. Doorae model has simple and uniform concepts of object and message passing for problem modeling and computation. A method for detecting parallelism implicitly. with no exact description of parallelism in program. is proposed. Furthermore, the method assures the maximum parallelism in dynamic environment by creating concurrent objects. Also a concept of Waiting Variable to insure maximum computation efficiency of objects is proposed.

  • The main purpose of this project is to improve the funeral and grave culture which has brought about many social problems, and to fix the crematory culture as the future funeral ceremony in our country. In this study, we first investigated the actual condition of cremation culture. Second, we survey three representative crematorium as an object of study and investigated similar sample buildings in Japan, we analyzed the problem of existing crematorium. Finally, we arranged the basics to approach the space program and design criteria of this project. 1. The entrance of vehicles has been commonly concentrated to the opening time of crematorium. therefore, Peak time has come out as circulation of cremation and waiting time is increasing, also it is difficult to manage the congestion normally. 2. The whole problem of crematorium is poor environment, inferior buildings, noise, unsatisfactory ventilation and privacy, insufficient convenience facilities. 3. The user demand on the crematorium facilities is a private family room for waiting area, a farewell room for family members in a direct line, an outdoor rest area, and the various service facilities, and so on. 4. For improvement of the funeral and grave culture, it is necessary that crematorium is not a hatred facilities, as the conversion of consciousness, and to new shape of charnel as it wore family tomb.
