  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the hydrological impact due to temporal land cover change urbanization of Anseong-cheon watershed $(585.09km^2)$. WMS (Watershed Modeling System) HEC-1 was adopted, and burned DEM with $200{\times}200m$ resolution and soil map reclassified by hydrologic soil groups were prepared. Land cover for 1985, 1990, 1995 and 2000 were classified by maximum likelihood method, using Landsat MSS and TM imageries. Calibration and verification of HEC-1 were conducted using 4 storm events. Peak flow at Pyeong taek station increased $25.9m^3/sec$ during the past 15 years due to paddy and forest decrease. Streamflow impact by just paddy area decrease and forest area decrease were also analysed keeping watershed CN values unchanged of the given year, respectively.

  • 최근들어 수자원 분야에서 GIS(Geographic Information System)의 활용에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다.

  • In this study, Miho stream basin(Seokhwa water level gauging station) In Geum river, Flood control main station of Geum River Flood Control Office, is selected. Hydrologic topographical informations are calculated using WMS which is hydrologic analysis software coupled with GIS Method, and flood analysis is accomplished by HEC-1 included In WMS. To calculate the effective rainfall CN values of SCS are used. Clark, Snyder and SCS methods are selected respectively to derive unit hydrograph. This study shows the applicability of GIS techniques to runoff simulation in ungauged basin by comparing with actual measured flood hydrograph. As a results, Snyder(Tulsa) method and Clark (Herby) method is suitable to Miho stream basin. But Snyder(Tulsa) method is suitable more than Clark(Herby) method. And according to the degree of urbanization, the peak discharge has increased and the peak time has tended to decrease.

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the hydrological impact due to temporal land cover change by gradual urbanization of upstream watershed of Pyeongtaek gauging station of Anseong -cheon. WMS HEC-1 was adopted, and DEM with 200$\times$200m resolution and hydrologic soil group from 1:50,000 soil map were prepared. Land covers of 1986, 1990, 1994 and 1999 Landsat TM images were classified by maximum likelihood method. The watershed showed a trend that forest & paddy areas decreased and urban/residential area gradually increased for the period of 14 years. The model was calibrated at 2 locations (Pyeongtaek and Gongdo) by comparing observed with simulated discharge results for 5 summer storm events from 1998 to 2001. The watershed average CN values varied from 61.7 to 62.3 for the 4 selected years. To identify the impact of streamflow by temporal area change of a target land use, a simple evaluation method that the CN values of areas except the target land use are unified as one representative CN value was suggested. By applying the method, watershed average CN value was affected in the order of paddy, forest and urban/residential, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the hydrological impact on a watershed from long-term land cover changes. Gyeongan-cheon watershed($558.2km^2$) was selected and WMS(watershed modeling system) HEC-1 model was adopted as an evaluation tool. To identify land cover changes, five Landsat images(1980/2/15, 1986/4/15, 1990/4/26, 1996/4/26, 2000/5/17) were selected and analyzed using maximum likelihood method. As a result, urban areas have increased by 5.6% and forest areas have decreased by 6.1% between 1980 and 2000. SCS curve number increased by 9.8. To determine model parameters and evaluate HEC-1 model, five storm events(1998/5/2, 1998/8/23, 1998/9/30, 1999/5/3, 2000/7/29) were used. The simulated stream flow agreed well with the observed one with relative errors ranging from 9% to 36%. For 254 mm daily rainfall of 30 years frequency, due to the increase of urban areas peak flow increased by $455m^3/sec$ and the time of peak flow reduced about four hours for 20 years land cover changes.

  • Many researches have been conducting on extracting geometry data and hydrologic parameters by using GIS technique. However, there is no clear standard on those methods yet. This study examines the changing pattern of runoff responses characteristics with applying lumped model on divided watershed. WMS is used in order to divide watershed and calculate hydrologic geometry data and parameters by GIS technique. HEC-1 is adopted as a hydrologic model to establish runoff responses. The basin is divided into small watersheds, which are approximately same size. This research conducted runoff response simulation of Pyoungchang River and Wichon River Basin. Especially, research was focused on what is the most appropriate level as a divined sub-basin, and tested the effect of size of sub-basin for the runoff response simulation. The results showed the size of sub-basin was not an important factor for the simulation results after a certain size. The results of this study can be applied as an appropriate guidance to select optimal simulation size of watershed for the lumped model in a specific watershed.
