돼지 도축공정 중의 미생물 증감 추이 (Incidence of Microorganisms during Slaughtering Process of Pig)

  • 본 연구는 돼지 도축 규모 및 계절별로 도축단계에 따른 미생물 오염도와 변화를 조사하기 위하여 수행하였다. 도축 5단계 즉, 내장적출 전, 내장적출 후, 최종세척 전, 최종세척 후 그리고 냉장실에서 돼지 도체 복부 표면에 대한 미생물 오염도를 조사하기 위하여 가로 세로 10×10 cm의 면적에 대하여 swab 방법으로 시료를 채취하였다. 그 결과 가을철 시료의 경우 소규모 도축장의 일반세균수는 모든 도축공정에서 10⁴∼10/sup 5/ CFU/㎠로서 10²∼10³ CFU/㎠의 균수를 보인 대규모 도축장에 비하여 높은 경향을 보였고, 냉장실 시료의 경우 대규모 도축장에 있어서 일반세균수가 10² CFU/㎠ 수준으로 10⁴ CFU/㎠ 수준값을 보여준 소규모 도축장과 일반세균수의 값에 있어서 큰 차이를 보였다. 겨울철 시료와 봄시료에 있어서도 가을 시료와 마찬가지로 대규모 도축장은 모든 도축공정에서 중소규모 도축장에 비하여 적은 미생물수준을 보였으나, 봄 시료의 경우 최종세척 전(10⁴ CFU/㎠)과 냉장실(10³ CFU/㎠)의 미생물수에 있어서는 도축장 규모에 따른 차이를 보여주지 않았다. 최종 세척 공정의 시료 채취 부위에 따른 세척 효과를 보기 위한 실험에서 둔부 및 복부 부위에서는 세척 효과를 보였지만, 턱 부위에서는 오히려 세척 후 미생물 수가 최종세척 전 단계보다 증가하는 경향을 보였다.

쌀의 취반 중 Phenthoate 농약 잔류분의 제거 (Elimination of Phenthoate Residues in the Washing and Cooking of Polished Rice)

  • 인위적으로 phenthoate 농약성분을 부착시킨 쌀의 취반(炊飯), 즉 수세 및 가열조리시 농약잔류분의 제거율을 실험한 결과는 다음과 같다. 가정에서의 세척방법에 준하여 3회 반복 수세한 쌀에서 phenthoate는 49%가 잔존하였으므로 수세에 의해 51%가 제거되었다. 수세과정에서는 첫 번째 세척액(뜨물)에서 37.3% (여과액 7.8, 잔사 29.5%), 두 번째 세척액에서 14.3% (여과액 6.2%, 잔사 8.1), 세 번째 세척액에서 8.9% (여과액 5.8. 잔사 3.1%)가 제거되었다. 세척액 중 phenthoate 잔류분은 뜨물 여과액보다 뜨물 잔사에서 더 많이 발견되었다. 전기밥솥에서 가열조리한 쌀밥에서 phenthoate 잔존율은 41%이었으므로 수세 및 가열조리에 의해 오염된 phenthoate의 595가 제거되었다. Phenthoate 성분은 열에 안정해 취반시에도 분리되지 않는 것으로 생각된다. 결론적으로 쌀 중에 잔류하는 phenthoate 성분은 취반과정시 주로 수세과정에 의하여 제거되므로 가열조리전 수세과정을 반드시 3회 이상 거치는 것이 바람직하다. 본 연구결과는 쌀 중 phenthoate의 잔류 허용기준 설정시 감소계수(0.4)로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

굴 세척액을 이용한 인스턴트 분말 수프의 제조 및 특성 (Preparation of Instant Powdered Soup Using Oyster Wash Water and Its Characteristics)

  • 굴통조림 가공부산물인 세척수를 효율적으로 이용하기 위하여 굴세척액을 이용한 인스턴트 분말수프의 제조를 시도하였다. 대조구인 굴 열수추출물 분말 수프는 열수추출물 분말에 식염, 분말크림, 유대체 분말, 밀가루, 대두분말, 전분, 글루코스, 양파가루의 일정량씩을 각각 혼합하여 제조하였다. 굴세척액 분말수프는 열수추출물 분말 대신에 세척액 분말을 첨가하고, 기타 첨가물의 경우 굴 열수추출물 분말 수프와 같은 비율로 첨가하여 제조하였다. 굴통조림 가공부산물 유래 분말 수프인 세척수 분말 수프는 탄수화물이 71.1%로 거의 대부분을 차지하였고, 다음으로 조단백질(10.8%), 조회분(8.1%) 및 조지방(3.5%)의 순이었으며, 대조구인 열수추출물 분말 수프와 차이가 없었다. 굴세척액 분말 수프는 휘발성염기질소, 생균수, 대장균군 및 수분활성이 각각 29.4 mg/100g, $4.6{\times}10^4\;CFU/g$, <18 MPN/100 g 및 0.246으로 위생적으로 안전한 인스턴트 식품이었다. 굴통조림 가공부산물 유래 분말수프의 주요 지방산은 16 : 0(31.5%), 18 : 0(10.4%) 및 18 : 1n-9(27.4%) 등이었고, 단백질의 화학가는 59.4%이었으며, 주요 무기질은 철이었다. 관능평가 결과 대조구인 열수추출물 분말 수프에 대하여 세척수 분말 수프의 경우 점도, 색조, 향 및 맛과 같은 모든 항목에서 차이가 없었다. 이상의 이화학적 및 관능적 검사 결과로 미루어 보아 굴통조림 가공부산물인 세척수는 분말화하여 배합농도를 적절히 조절하면 우수한 인스턴트 분말 수프의 소재로 이용 가능하다는 결론을 얻었다.

  • Purpose : This study sought to evaluate the dimensional stability of the SITT (Silicone Index Tooth Tray) impression system and to determine whether providing space for wash impression material in SITT is a necessary step in obtaining accurate prostheses. Materials and methods : After mounting metal dies with shoulder and chamfer margins arbitrarily, SITT was fabricated using Blu-mousse$^{(R)}$. To test the dimensional stability of the SITT system for margin design, the shoulder margin and chamfer margin were evaluated. Furthermore, to test the effect of space for wash impression material, 0.5mm space in SITT and zero space in SITT were statistically compared. Results : 1. There was no significant difference between the group with shoulder margin and that with chamfer margin. 2. There was no significant difference between the group with 0.5mm space and that with zero space for wash impression material. Conclusions : Considering the limitations of this study, the dimensional stability of the SITT system did not interfere with the margin design. Space for the wash impression material was also unnecessary.

반복 세척시 형광증백제에 의한 증백효과와 색상변화 (The Effect of Fluorescent Whitening Agents on the Whiteness and the Shade of Fabrics in Repeated Washings)

  • Influence of the fluorescent whitening agent(FWA)'s adsorption on the whiteness of cotton and on the color change of the dyed fabrics was investigated by repeating wash cycles. Cotton 100% and cotton60/polyester40 blended fabrics were dyed pink, blue and yellow, and cyanuric chloride diamino stilbene(CC/DAS) and distyryl bisphenyl(DSBP) were used for the FWA with laundry detergents. Fabrics were washed at $20^\circ{C}$ with Terg-o-tometer. The FWA adsorption amount was measured by the absorption intensity for the pyridine-water extracted solution. The FWA adsorption increased on the cotton fabric with the wash cycles. Though adsorption of CC/DAS continuously increased up to the 20th cycle, that of DSBP increased sharply before the 10th cycle and reached an equilibrium. The whiteness of the fabrics dried in the shade was greater than that dried under the sunlight through window glass. The color change of dyed fabrics was increased by the number of wash cycles. Pink changed more greatly than blue, yellow or grey cloth. The color change(\Delta{E)}$ of dyed fabric washed repeatedly up to the 20th cycle with the detergent without FWA was less than 1. It is recommended to wash pale colored fabric with the detergent free of FWA.

Comparative Analysis of Two Selective Bleaching Methods on Alpaca Fibers

  • Dark brown Alpaca fiber was reduced in shade via selective bleaching with peroxide. Two selective oxidative bleaching methods were tested on alpaca top to assess their effectiveness for color removal and fiber quality properties. Color change, bundle strength, weight loss, fiber diameter, surface modification, dye-ability and dye wash fastness were assessed for both methods and compared with the original brown top. Bleach method 1 (BL-I) showed little surface modification, 5.8% weight loss and 2.4% strength loss. D1925 yellowness index was reduced to 74.3 from 83.1 and provided a good base for the dyeing of medium to deep shades. Bleach method 2 (BL-II) displayed considerable surface modification, 7.8% weight loss and 18% strength loss. BL-II also resulted in a mean diameter reduction of 1.9 micron during bleaching. Yellowness was reduced to 64.5 from 83.1 and provided a very good base for the dyeing of medium to deep shades. BL-I showed better exhaustion of the premetallised dye Lanaset Violet B than BL-II. Wash fastness for BL-II was 1 grey scale unit poorer than BL-I. BL-II showed far better color clarity at pale depths however the wash fastness of the finished product was not good enough to maintain the depth or clarity of the color. BL-I showed poorer clarity of color but exhibited better wash fastness results.

Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced MRI of the Prostate: Can Auto-Generated Wash-in Color Map Be Useful in Detecting Focal Lesion Enhancement?

  • Purpose: To evaluate the usefulness of wash-in color map in detecting early enhancement of prostate focal lesion compared to whole dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI (DEC MRI) images. Materials and Methods: This study engaged 50 prostate cancer patients who underwent multiparametric MRI and radical prostatectomy as subjects. An expert [R1] and a trainee [R2] independently evaluated early enhancement and recorded the time needed to review 1) a wash-in color map and 2) whole DCE MRI images. Results: The review of whole DCE images by R1 showed fair agreement with color map by R1, whole images by R2, and color map by R2 (weighted kappa values = 0.59, 0.44, and 0.58, respectively). Both readers took a significantly shorter time to review the color maps as compared to whole images (P < 0.001). Conclusion: A trainee could achieve better agreement with an expert when using wash-in color maps than when using whole DCE MRI images. Also, color maps took a significantly shorter evaluation time than whole images.

출토 직물의 세탁 방법에 따른 물성 변화 (Physical Property Change of Old Fabrics Depending on Cleaning Method)

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the efficiency of four different cleaning method of silk and to fabrics, which were excavated from the sixteenth century tombs. The four cleaning methods were hand washing in water and hand washing in solvent, washing in ultrasonic cleaner, and using of ultrasonic gun after washing in ultrasonic cleaner. The following is the result of the experiment: ㆍBoth silk and jute fabrics shrank the most after hand-wash in water. This cleaning method decreased their thickness the most but changed their strength the least. However, the color of the fabric changed the most after had-wash in water. This washing method might discolor the dyed fabric, so one must check the condition of the fabric thoroughly before washing it. ㆍThe weight and the thickness of the fabric changed little after ultrasonic cleaning. This cleaning method, therefore. is less efficient than hand-water-wash. The use of ultrasonic gun after ultrasonic wash for partial cleansing enhanced the efficiency a little. Nevertheless, this method left stain around the area where the gun was used, and the injected water could damage the fabric. ㆍThe excavated fabric became softer in the cleaning process as the dirt was washed away. In both cases of silk and jute fabrics cleaning, solvent made the fabric softer than water. Washed in solvent, the fabric did not swell. But water penetrated to the fiber during the cleaning process and made the fabric swell. When the water evaporates, the swollen fiber structure collapses and the fabric become stiff. Ultrasonic wash did not cause much change in the flexibility of the fabric, for this method does not remove the dirt as effectively as the other method.

  • Assessing soil removal is of interest to the washing machine industry because of government-mandated energy savings and changes in detergent formulation and consumer laundry practices. We designed this study to examine the laundry process from a holistic perspective by integrating factors perceived to be of importance. Our purpose was to assess the impact of selected variables (fabric and soil type, wash temperature and time. detergent amount, and degree of agitation) on soil removal using accelerated laundry conditions. We used the Taguchi method to develop the research design and ANOVA to analyze the data. Although soil removal was affected by fabric type, soil type, type and amount of detergent, degree of agitation, wash time and temperature, and water hardness and volume, wash temperature was the most significant variable.
