만성질환 유무별 노인의 사회활동 참여가 주관적 건강만족도에 미치는 영향 비교 (The Effect of Participation in Social Activities on the Subjective Health Satisfaction of the Older Adults with and without Chronic Illnesses)

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of participation in social activities on the subjective health satisfaction of the elderly in groups with and without chronic diseases. Methods : Data were used from the "2014 the Korean Elderly Survey" and the subjects were 10,451 persons aged 65 years or older. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 18.0 statistical package. Results : The results of this study were as follows. In the case of the elderly without chronic diseases, only the employment status (${\beta}=.135$, p<.01) had a significant effect on the health of the elderly. In the case of elderly people with chronic illness, participation in lifelong education (${\beta}=.183$, p<.001), participation in social group (${\beta}=.277$, p<.001), volunteer work experience (${\beta}=.060$, p<.05), and employment status (${\beta}=.342$, p<.001) had a significant effect on health. Conclusions : Policies and systems are needed to actively encourage and support the social activities of the elderly. Additionly, care and attention are needed to provide social jobs for the elderly and build a sustainable network.

Corporate Social Responsibility and its Relationship with Increasing Company Value

  • Purpose: The advantages of corporate social responsibility (CSR) include stronger recognition and reputation, which lead to a company's good public image, increased customer loyalty, operational cost saving, and employee retention. The purpose of the present research is to take a close look at the association between CSR and organization's value. Research design, data and methodology: The authors tried to obtain the high-quality textual data from mostly peer-reviewed journals using a PRISMA ((Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses). The authors was to figure out adequate solutions from limited range of the current literature (only peer-reviewed research) regarding CSR and corporate value. Results: Our investigation indicates that CSR is essential to all businesses as it ensures they keep in touch with society, retaining top personnel, and achieving top financial success. Companies and organizations can engage in four corporate social responsibility initiatives to increase value, including environmental projects, charitable work, honest labor practices, and volunteer activity. Conclusions: An organizations should be involved in the community and consider how its actions affect the environment and society. Small or large businesses are expected to lead in developing a progressive CSR program that benefits people and the environment and continuously changes depending on the social and economic environment.

  • 이 연구는 도서관 자원봉사 활성화를 위한 기초 현황 조사로서 국내 자원봉사자, 18만 여명을 대상으로 활동 현황을 조사 분석하였다. 조사대상 도서관은 대부분의 자원봉사자가 활동하고 있는 공공도서관과 학교도서관으로 하였으며, 이 조사는 도서관 자원봉사를 대상으로 망라적인 조사를 하였다는 점에서 의미를 두고 있다. 조사 내용은 자원봉사자 참여 측면, 자원봉사자 담당 업무 측면, 자원봉사자 관리 및 운영 측면(교육, 모집), 문화프로그램 봉사자 측면으로 나누어 제시하였다.

한국과 미국 고등학생의 생활시간에 대한 비교 연구 (A Comparative Study of Time Use Differences between Korean and American High School Students)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the differences in time use between Korean and American high school students. The data sources were the '2009 Time Use Survey' conducted by Korea National Statistical Office and the '2009 ATUS (American Time Use Survey)' conducted by Labor Statistics Division in the U.S.. 1,734 Korean diaries (1,311 on weekdays and 423 on Sundays) and 321 American diaries (208 on weekdays and 113 on Sundays) from high school students of 15 to 18 years of age were analyzed. Descriptive statistics and t-test were used for the statistical analysis. The time use patterns of Korean students on weekdays and Sundays were different than those of their American counterparts. On weekdays and Sundays, the sleeping time of Korean students was 2 hours less than the time of their American counterparts. Koreans studied more, nearly double the time of their American counterparts on weekdays and five times more on Sundays. The study-oriented time allocation of Korean students resulted in less leisure time than the American students. Korean students spent their leisure time of more than 30 minutes participating in social activities, media, and hobbies, and their time allocation to volunteer work and religious activities were nil. On Sundays, the time for studying by Korean students was more than five times longer than that spending by their American counterparts. Koreans used their leisure time of 6 hours and 47 minutes mainly for media, hobbies and social activities. The participation rate of volunteering by Korean students was only 0.5%, though it was 31.0% for the Americans. For a study-life balance for Korean students, it was recommended that trends toward time management and social policy should increase the time allocation to sleeping, housework, work, sports, and volunteering and decrease the time use in studying and hobbies.

태평양전쟁 말기의 수인(囚人) 동원 연구(1943~1945) -형무소 보국대를 중심으로- (A Study on the Mobilization of Prisoners in the Late Wartime Period (1943~1945) -with a focus on the National Protection Corps of Prisoners-)

  • This article aims to shed light on the wartime labor mobilization of prisoners on a large scale in/across colonial Korea and beyond during the late wartime period. More specifically, this article reveals the logic and mode of mobilization, and sorts out nationwide mobilization cases in colonial Korea. To this end, this article draws on documents and magazines published by the criminal administration of the Japanese Government-General of Korea, as well as the memoirs of prisoners and prison staff including prison administrators and prison chaplains. With the onset of the wartime system, the labor work in prisons centered on the production of military supplies. In 1943, the labor mobilization began to organize the National Protection Corps and dispatch them to remote workplaces. For example, at the requests of the military, prisoners were selected and sent to Hainan Island, while others were sent to military factories and mining fields in the northern part of the country. The authorities specified and adjusted the criteria for imprisonment based on education, physical strength, and other physical and mental conditions. Unconverted ideological offenders were excluded from the mobilization, and instead put under separate control. In preparation for mobilization, the prisoners trained in military drills, received Japanese language education, and underwent assimilation as imperial subjects through the preaching in prison. In order to induce prisoners to volunteer, a legislation system based on the shortening of the prison terms, including the parole system, was also promoted under the wartime system. As a result, prisoners were forced to work harder and faster even under the lowest of wages, poor food and poor housing conditions, and they also filled vacancies in managerial positions by serving as supervisory assistants. The reward system for them, however, did not function properly towards the end of the war, and the number of escapes and infectious outbreaks, as well as mortality rates rapidly increased under the harsh conditions.

사회적기업의 지역사회 자원연계 활성화를 위한 사례연구 -광주광역시·제주특별자치도를 중심으로- (Activating Local Society Resource Network of Social Business : Focusing on Kwangju and Jejudo)

  • 본 연구에서는 광주광역시와 제주특별자치도에 소재하고 있는 (예비)사회적기업의 네트워크구축 활동에 관한 사례연구를 실시하여, 현재 사회적기업의 지역 네트워크 실태와 미래 자원연계 방향에 대한 수요파악, 전략적 협력적인 네트워크구축 활성화 방안을 모색해보고자 하였다. 양 지역의 사회적기업이 맺고 싶은 지역자원은 기업과 공공기관, 지역언론사가 가장 많고, 다음으로 전문가 등의 프로보노, 민간단체, 자원봉사단체로 나타났다. 희망하는 연계내용으로는 제품구매, 인건비 및 재정지원, 홍보, 서비스구매, 마케팅, 공동사업 순으로 나타났다. 연계를 위해서 관련행사 참여, 정부기관의 도움, 관련단체 가입, 기관장의 역할 순으로 노력을 수행하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 연구결과 사회적기업의 지역자원연계 활성화를 위해서는 지역사회내 영리기업과 대학 등과 1사 1사회적기업 협력체계를 추진하거나, 지역사회내 자원봉사자 활동을 발굴할 필요가 있으며, 윤리적이고 대안적인 소비자운동의 촉발과 연대, 사회적기업의 신뢰형성 등이 중요한 활성화 방안으로 도출되었다.

프로세스 이노베이션을 활용한 공공도서관 업무 프로세스 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Public Library Workflow Using Process Innovation)

  • 본 연구는 비즈니스 혁신의 하나인 프로세스 이노베이션에 대한 공공도서관으로의 적용가능성을 탐구한 것이다. 이를 위하여 문헌연구를 통해서 프로세스 이노베이션에 대한 개념을 정의하고 나아가 공공도서관의 사서들을 대상으로 서면 질문조사와 포커스그룹 인터뷰를 병행하여 도서관 업무를 수서 및 정리, 자료실 운영, 이용자 관리, 이용자 서비스, 프로그램, 자원봉사자 관리, 도서관 홍보, 도서관전산화 시스템, 시설 및 비품 관리, 서무와 통계 관리로 대분하고 각 업무별 세부업무를 확인한 다음, 공통분모를 도출하였다. 이어서 구글 행아웃을 통한 공공도서관 사서들과의 다자간 대면 인터뷰를 통하여 수서와 정리, 이용자 관리 업무에 있어서 프로세스 개선의 필요성 및 가능성을 확인하고 프로세스 이노베이션을 적용한 개선방안과 함께 새로운 적용 모델을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과, 도서계약 및 희망도서 관련 업무의 절차를 개선하여 보다 신속하게 이용자의 요구를 충족할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 이용자 관리 부분에서는 미국의 30개 공공도서관에 대한 웹 사이트 조사를 통하여 회원가입 시 요구 사항과 가입 절차를 분석하고 나아가 기존 공공도서관의 회원가입 절차에 대한 프로세스 분석을 통하여 개선된 프로세스를 제공함으로써 이용자의 만족도 향상과 함께 도서관 업무 프로세스의 개선에도 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

지역교회간호(Parish Nursing) - 일차건강간호를 위한 새로운 도약 (Parish Nursing : A New Challenge for Primary Health Care)

  • ursing as a profession is characterized by its holistic, mind-body-spirit approach to the patient. Also, nurses have historically been the leaders in health education and promotion. Parish nursing has a great potential for providing primary preventive health care. services as well as assisting people to access the health care system. While working in the community, parish nurses see the church as the new arena for delivering health care services. The parish nurse program was introduced by Granger Westberg in 1984. The concept of parish nursing is based on several beliefs; health is multidimensional and affects all aspects of an individual-physical, psychological, social, and spiritaul being. Parish nursing is one model in which churches can cooperatively work with health care institutions to address the needs of their parishioners. The role of the parish nurse is emphasized in four basic area: a) health education, b) health counseling, c) referal services, and d) facilitation and organization of support groups within the congregation. The parish nurse programs work chiefly in congregation or commuity where a certain language of faith is ready at hand. This means that the parish nurse works in an ecology of meanings and care which encourages the drawing on the message of God's grace, the practices and habits it encourages. The parish nurse may be involved in the church's health ministries and may work on either paid or volunteer basis; however, one of the most important qualification of the parish nurse is to have the nursing knowledge and skills to practice within the standards of Nursing Practice Act. The completion of standards of practice for professional nurses practicing as parish nurses had been identified as a priority by the HMA Executive Board (1996, HMA). In conclusion, parish nursing promotes health and healing by empowering the faith community, family, or individual to incorporate health and healing practices. There are several preconditions that should proceed to establish the foundation for successful development of the parish nursing program in Korea. First, reciprocal relationship with home health nursing should be considered. Second, correct terms and concepts of parish nursing should be studied and understood. Third, systematic study and investigation should be followed for further development of parish nursing. Fourth, strengths and weaknesses of different models should be studied to develop proper model of parish nursing for Korean situation. Finally, consensus of standardized education program and corporation with various religious communities as well as health institutions should be established. When these preconditions are met, the role of parish nursing as a new program for the promotion of holistic health will be established.

중장년층의 사회복지 전공 선택 동기 요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Motivating Factors Affecting the Middle-Aged People in Choosing Major in Social Welfare)

  • 본 연구는 사이버대학교 사회복지학과 학생들의 전공 선택 이유를 살펴보고, 사회복지전공교육의 효과적인 환경을 구성하는데 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다. 연구를 위해 사이버대학교 사회복지학과에 재학 중인 학부생 41명을 대상으로 전공 선택에 관한 동기요인에 대해 질적 조사를 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 영리적 목적으로 자격증 취득을 위해 사회복지 전공을 선택한다는 응답이 가장 많았다. 둘째, 타인에게 인정받기 위한 수단 및 개인의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 전공을 선택하였다. 셋째 사회복지실천을 바탕으로 한 전문가로서 사회적 기여에 의한 전공 선택 동기요인이다. 마지막으로, 개인의 가정환경 경험에 의한 동기요인이다. 사회복지전공교육의 학습효과를 높이는 학습전략 방안이다. 첫째, 자격증 취득을 위한 학습자를 위해 목적지향형 학습이 필요하다. 사회복지실천현장에서 실제 적용이 가능한 실천기술과 전문지식을 익힐 수 있는 교육과정의 배치가 필요하다. 둘째, 타인에게 인정받기 위한 수단 및 개인의 삶의 질 향상을 위해 사회복지 전공을 선택한 학습자를 위한 교육은 자신의 인생을 되돌아보고 새로운 삶의 의미를 발견하는 세대통합교육이 필요하다. 셋째, 사회복지실천을 바탕으로 한 사회적 기여를 위해 전공을 선택한 학생의 교육은 사회복지전문가로서 지역사회에서 전문 자원봉사자로 활동 할 수 있도록 자원봉사에 대한 교육이 구성되어야 하겠다. 넷째, 개인적 경험과 가정환경에 의한 동기를 위해 사회복지전공을 선택한 학습자를 위해 소외되고 도움을 필요로 하는 지역사회 사례관리 대상자를 발굴하고 그들이 학습한 사회복지전공이 가시적인 성과를 이룰수 있도록 사례관리에 대한 전문적인 교육이 필요하겠다.

전자간호기록 시스템의 사용성 수준 및 관련 요인 분석: Time-motion 방법 적용을 통한 다기관 접근 (Identifying Usability Level and Factors Affecting Electronic Nursing Record Systems: A Multi-institutional Time-motion Approach)

  • Purpose: The usability, user satisfaction, and impact of electronic nursing record (ENR) systems were investigated. Methods: This mixed-method research was performed as a time-motion (TM) study and a survey which were carried out at six hospitals between August and November 2013. The TM study involved 108 nurses from medical, surgical, and intensive care units at each hospital, plus an additional 48 nurses who served as nonparticipating observers. In the survey, 1879 volunteer nurses completed the Impact of ENR Systems Scale, the System Usability Scale, and a global satisfaction scale. Qualitative and quantitative analyses were performed. Results: The mean scores for the ENR impact, system usability, and satisfaction were 4.28 (out of 6), 58.62 (out of 100), and 74.31 (out of 100), respectively, and they differed significantly between hospitals (F=43.43, p<.001, F=53.08 and p<.001, and F=29.13 and p<.001, respectively). A workflow fragmentation assessment revealed different patterns of ENR system use among the included hospitals. Three user characteristics-educational background, practice period, and experience of using paper records-significantly affected the system usability and satisfaction scores. Conclusion: The system quality varied widely among the ENR systems. The generally low-to-moderate levels of system usability and user satisfaction suggest many opportunities for improvement.
