시유의 2차오염과 저장가능기간을 결정하기 위한 Resazurin 환원시간검사 (Resazurin Reduction Time Test to Determine Post-pasteurization Contamination and Shelf Life of Market Milk)

  • NPC agar, DHL agar, MacConkey agar와 Cetrimide desoxycholate agar의 선택성을 조사 하였다". Cetrimide desoxycholate agarz 가 다른 선택성 배지에 비해 그람양성 세균을 억제하고 Pseudomonas를 비롯한 내냉성 그람음성 세균의 선택적 배양에 더 좋은 한천배지이었다. Resazurin 환원시간 검시에서 Cetrimide desoxycholate broth를 시유와 혼합하여 $21^{\circ}C$ 에 서 18 시간 배양한 후 resazurin을 첨가하여 변색되는 시간으로 2차오염 을 결정하는 방법으로서 조사하였다. Resazurin 환원시간 검사와 저장성 검사간에 81%의 관련성이 있었다. 저장성 검사의 우유에서 Pseudomonas가 가장 먼도 높게 분리되었으며 다음으로 Acinetobacter와 Aeromonas가 검출되었다 Resazurin 환원시간 검사에는 Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, Enterobacter의 순서의 빈도로 검출되었다.

콘크리트 슬래브 건조수축 응력 감소에 관한 초기연구 (A Preliminary Study on Reduction of Shrinkage Stress in Concrete Slabs)

  • 콘크리트 슬래브는 타설 후 온도와 수분 변화를 통해 체적이 변화한다. 수분증발에 의하여 발생한 건조수축은 슬래브의 자중이나 하부층과의 마찰 등에 의하여 구속되어 슬래브 내부에 응력이 유발된다. 선행 연구에 의하면 건조수축에 의하여 발생된 실제 인장응력은 이론적으로 예측된 값보다 작은 것으로 보고되었다. 이는 부분적으로 구속된 슬래브에서 발생하는 초기 재령 콘크리트의 점탄성에 기인한 응력감소 현상이다. 본 연구에서는 재령에 따른 콘크리트의 응력감소 현상을 조사하기 위하여 구속된 원주형, 구속되지 않은 자유건조 원주형, 그리고 자유건조 각주형 콘크리트 시편의 변형률을 측정하였다. 재령 1, 3, 7, 14, 28일에 콘크리트의 탄성계수를 측정하였으며 관입저항 실험을 실시하였다. 실험결과를 기존 연구자들이 제안한 이론식에 대입하여 구속된 원주형 콘크리트 시편의 응력감소를 계산할 수 있었다. 향후 본 연구의 결과를 바탕으로 구속된 콘크리트 시편의 응력감소 현상을 콘크리트 포장의 설계에 적용할 예정이다.

팔라디움과 인디움을 담지한 Al 층간가교 몬모릴로나이트 촉매의 수중 질산성질소 환원 특성 (The Reduction Properties of Nitrate in Water with Palladium and Indium on Aluminum Pillared Montmorillonite Catalyst)

  • In this study, catalyst was made through incipient wetness method using palladium (Pd) as noble metal, indium (In) as secondary metal, and montmorillonite (MK10) and Al pillared montmorillonite (Al-MK10) as supporters. The nitrate reduction rate of the catalysts was measured by batch experiments where H2 gas was used as reducing agent and formic acid as pH controller. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) equipped with energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) were all used to determine the elemental distribution of Pd, In, Al, and Si on catalysts. It was observed that Al pillaring increased the Al/Si elemental composition ratio and point of zero charge of MK10, but decreased its BET specific surface area and pore volume. The nitrate reduction rate of Al-MK10 Pd/In was 2.0 ~ 2.5 times higher than that of MK10 Pd/In using artificial groundwater (GW) in ambient temperature and pressure. Nitrate reduction rates in GW were 1.2 ~ 1.7 times lower than those in distilled deionized water (DDW). Nitrate reduction rates in acidic conditions were higher than those in neutral condition in both GW and DDW. The amount of produced NH3-N over degraded NO3- at acid conditions was lower than that of neutral condition. Even though the leaching of Pd after reaction was measured in DDW it was not detected when both Al-MK10 Pd/In and MK10 Pd/In were used in GW. The modification of montmorillonite as a supporter significantly increased the reductive catalytic activities of nitrates. However, the ratio of producing ammonia by-products to degraded nitrates in ambient temperature and pressure was similar.

중구경 화포용 소음기 개발을 위한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Development of Silencer for the Medium Caliber Gun)

  • The silencer for the medium caliber gun was studied to reduce the propagation of gun-generated noise from the firing test range to the community. Three types of silencer were made to compare the reduction of sound pressure level and the effect of chamber volume and the exit angle to the reduction of sound pressure was considered. The structural analysis and measurement of pressure in the silencer showed that the structure is safe in terms of strength. The increase of recoil force to buffer must be considered in the development of silencer. The hypothesis test on the muzzle velocity for the existence of silencer showed that there are no difference at the significance level of 0.05.

  • Pitch drive system in wind turbine is composed by the planetary gear system to satisfied its required performance such as long life and light weight for gear train. When the planetary gear system can reduce its volume and weight, the power consumption of the wind turbine can be reduced. In this study, the planetary gear system of the pitch drive system in medium-sized wind turbine is obtained for weight reduction by shape optimization method. And the planetary gear system is verified for their strength by the structural analysis.

BHT-C의 허혈성 뇌졸중 동물에서의 뇌부종 억제효과 (Effect of BHT-C extract on the infarction in cerebral ischemic rats)

  • Objectives : BHT has been commonly used to treatment of brain disorders in Oriental clinic in Korea. The purpose of this study was to determine the inhibitory effect of modified BHT-C extract on the transient forcal cerebral ischemia in rats. Method : We prepared ischemic rats by the transient middle cerebral artery occlution(MCAO; 90 min occlusion and 144 h reperfusion) in rat brains. BHT-C extract (100 and 200 mg/kg, i.p.) was administered every day after the onset of MCAO until 6 day. Result : BHT-C extract increased survival rate of ischemic rats compared with vehicle-treated rats. BHT-C extract treated rats (100 and 200 mg/kg) were shown a significant reduction in infarct volume compared with vehicle-treated rats. Conclusions : These results suggest that BHT-C extract may contribute to its protective effects in brain ischemia through the reduction of brain infarction.

Ceramic veneers without tooth reduction: A clinical report

  • This clinical report presents conservative and esthetic ceramic veneer treatments without tooth reduction. Patients' benefit from avoiding invasive procedure is discussed in terms of biologic price. The margin is placed not only at the cervical area, but also at any place on the tooth where additive volume increase is required. Techniques to camouflage the margin is described where contact lens effect is difficult to achieve. Proper case selection would be imperative to avoid periodontally hazardous restoration.

  • This paper deals with an evaluation of the residual stress due to shot peening induced in a car¬burized gear tooth and its application to the fatigue crack propagation problem. The residual stress is estimated based on the assumption that the main cause of residual stress is the volume difference between the case and core due to martensitic transformation in cooling, and the influ¬ence of both the reduction of retained austenite and the strain in the surface layer induced by shot peening are considered. The reliability of the method is examined by comparison with stresses measured by the X-ray diffraction method. The stresses intensity factors are computed by the influence function method and the reduction of the factor due to the residual stress is demonstrat¬ed and discussed based on the fracture mechanics.

엔진오일의 저점도화가 차량 연비에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Effects of Low Viscosity Engine Oils on Fuel Economy)

  • The purpose of this paper is to study the fuel economy improvement experimentally when the viscosity of engine oil is lowered. The emissions are measured for CVS-75 mode with SAE viscosity grades. The test results indicate that a close correlation has been found between the engine oil viscosity and the fuel economy. The lowering of engine oil viscosity causes the reduction of friction loss which has a very close relation with the fuel economy. These results as the lowering of engine oil viscosity will be a important factor for improvement of the fuel economy and reduction of the $CO_2$ emission.

아세틸화처리 낙엽송(Larix kaempferi) 소형 각재의 치수안정성 조사 (Investigation on the Dimensional Stability of Acetylated Larch (Larix kaempferi) Small Square)

  • It has been known that acetylation improves the dimensional stability of wood. Liquid phase acetylation is more popular than gas-phase acetylation for the effectiveness of weight gain of wood. In this study the specimens of domestic red and Korean pines are acetylated in liquid phase and their physical properties, such as density, bending strength, anti-hygroscopicity etc., are analyzed. Acetylation increases the average weights and volume of larch specimens by 11.4% and 3.4%, respectively, and their average oven-dry densities are increased by $0.03g/cm^3$. Acetylation does not influence on Modulus of Rupture (MOR) and Modulus of Elasticity (MOE). The average Percentage Reduction in Hygroscopicity (PRH) and average Percentage Reduction in Water soaking (PRW) of larch specimens are respectively 20.2% and 20.8%. Thus it can be concluded that acetylation improves the dimensional stability of larch specimens.
