In recent year, it has been investigated on the reduction of mass of structures for the purpose of the larger space and the economy with the industry developing very fast and qualitatively. So the purpose of this study is to investigate the manufacture of light weight concrete panel using the artificial light-weight aggregate as a part of the substitution of foamed styrene and polyurethane because of narrow allocable temperature zone in use. The compressive strength, flexural strength, unit weight, absorption test and thermal conductivity were practised at 3, 7 and 28 days after manufacturing the light-weight concrete lot the panel core: the filling ratio of continuous void was defied as 40%, 50%, and 60% and water-cement rate was 35, 40 and 45%. As a result of this, it was revealed that the mixture derived from filling ration of void of 50% and water-cement ratio 40% were developing the best properties of the others.
Densification and grain growth behavior of bimodal size distributed alumina powder mixtures were investigated as a function of amount of coarse alumina powder. The specimens which contained coarse alumina powder for 60to 80wt% showed the highest green density. The amount of shrinkage of sintered specimen lineraly decreased with the increase of coarse alumina powder up to the content that showed the highest green density and then further addition of coarse alumina powder led to drastic decrease of shrinkage of specimen. Especially crack-like void were concurrently revealed in the sintered body with addition of coarse alumina powder above 60wt% When the sintering temperature increased up to 1650$^{\circ}C$ the amount of shrinkage of specimen linearly decreased and the grain growth were also retarded with increase of coarse lauminia powder.
For soils with high void ratios, the inverse method of utilizing results obtained from centrifuge model test was used to find the constitutive relation of effective stress - void ratio - permeability whereas conventional oedometer test and constant rate of strain consolidation(CRS) test about settlement of interface and pore pressure and distribution with time were compared with numerically estimated values to confirm such a constitutive relation as obtained from the inverse method. As results of numerical method, the volumetric ratio and reclamation velocity were obtained for the reclamation condition.

This study determines the best composite grade to minimize the void of aggregate mixture based on the maximum density theory in an attempt to suggest a mix proportion method design for asphalt mixtures. Study results show that the grading curve with the maximum mass per unit capacity of each aggregate mixture satisfied the KS standards and the optimum AP content to meet the optimal asphalt mixture void rate of 4$\%$ was 5.7$\%$, less than the optimum AP content of 6.5$\%$ suggested in the Marshal mix proportion method design. At the same time, the asphalt mixture produced based upon the suggested mix proportion method had a flow value 17$\%$ lower than that of asphalt mixture produced according to the Marshal method, while its density was greater by 0.06$\~$0.09. This suggests that the introduced mix proportion method design helps to improve the shape flexibility and crack-resistance of asphalt concrete.
Application of reduced web beam section (RWBS) as a sacrificial fuse element has become a popular research field in recent years. Weakening of beam web in these connections may cause local web buckling around the opening area which can affect cyclic behavior of connection including: maximum load carrying capacity, strength degradation rate, dissipated energy, rotation capacity, etc. In this research, effect of local web buckling on the cyclic behavior of RWBS connections is investigated using finite element modeling (FEM). For this purpose, a T-shaped moment connection which has been tested under cyclic loading by another author is used as the reference model. Fracture initiation in models is simulated using Cyclic Void Growth Model (CVGM) which is based on micro-void growth and coalescence. Included in the results are: effect of opening corner radii, opening dimensions, beam web thickness and opening reinforcement. Based on the results, local web buckling around the opening area plays a significant role on the cyclic behavior of connection and hence any parameter affecting the local web buckling will affect entire connection behavior.

As an effective means to convey crushed materials from seabed to on board ship and to raise hazardous or abrasive liquids air-lift pump provides a reliable mechanism due to its simple config-uration and easy-to-operate principle. The present study is focused on fundamental investigation of related performance by the analysis program based on the gas-liquid two-phase flow in circular pipes. The program covers pump operating in isothermal and vertical two-phase flow with Newto-nian liquids. it is summarized as important result that an optimum air mass flow rate exists for the maximum lifted liquid mass flow rate in terms of a given submergence rates and furthermore attachment of downcomer gives little effects on riser performance the conveyed liquid flow rate increases with larger submergence rate.

The shield TBM method is widely adopted for tunneling works in urban area because it has more beneficial ways to control settlement at ground surface than conventional mined tunneling. In the shield tunneling, backfill grouting at tail void is crucial because it is supposed not only to restraint ground deformation around tail void during excavation but also to compensate precedent ground settlement by pushing up the ground with highly pressurized grout. However, the tail void grouting has been found to be ineffective for settlement compensation particularly in sandy ground, which might be caused by complicate interaction between ground and tail void grouting. In this paper, the effects of tail void grouting on behavior of ground in shield TBM tunneling were investigated based on 3-dimensional finite element analyses. The results of numerical analyses indicated that backfill grouting actually reduces settlement by degrading settlement increasing rate in excavation, which means decrease of volume loss. Meanwhile, the grouting could not contribute to compensate the precedent settlement, because reduction of volume loss by grouting was found to be counterbalanced by volume change of ground.

In general, as a method to confirm a urinary tract infection (UTI) in a medical institutions, urine culture including a urinalysis and an antimicrobial susceptibility test is performed. It is important to disinfect the area around the urethra and perineum before collecting urine samples, and it is important to collect it intermediate urine, not the first-void urine. We invented a patent urine cup (Patent No. 10-1732843) that can automatically and easily separate first-void urine and midstream urine and using this, the patent cup and the general cup were compared and evaluated using this. Nitrite (P<0.001), WBC (P=0.005), Bacterial colony count (P=0.001), colony positivity rate (P=0.004) in first-void urine (N=24), midstream urine (N=24) separated by patent cup to obtain a significantly higher value. This can be seen from the fact that the first-void urine and midstream urine separated using the patent cup were well separated. Also, the number of Bacterial colonies was statistically significantly higher in the midstream urine isolated using a patent cup (N=24) than in the midstream urine collected using a general cup (N=24) (average 7.9 vs. 4.0 on average, P= 0.002). Which means that the midstream urine separated using the patent cup is more sensitive to the UTI test than the midstream urine collected using a general cup.

This study is analyzed mechanical properties and durability of permeability porous concrete to mix polymer and steel fiber for the enhance of performance and durability of porous concrete. It proves that void ratio and permeability are tallied with internal and external standard of paving porous concrete. A property of strength is increased according as the mixing rate of polymer and steel fiber increase, but it showed the tendency to be reduced on the contrary when mixed upwards of 20% of polymer mixing rate and 0.9vol.% of steel fiber mixing rate. As a result, it is possible to make an enhanced which increased 16% of compressive strength and 30% of flexural strength steel fiber reinforced polymer porous concrete at the mixing rate of 10vol.% of polymer and 0.6% of steel fiber.
The Soysauce wastewater removal characteristics of submerged biofilters filled with two filter media respectively were experimentally examined with constant temperature, pH value and variable BOD loading and recirculation ratio. The decreasing order of BOD removal is Netring(random plastic media), cubic wire meshes(plastic module). This is mainly due to the media characteristics such as void ratio, specific surface area and media shapes. The BOD removal ratio decreases with increasing $BOD_5$/ volumetric loading rate, and the loading rate for the BOD removal over 85% is lower than 1.5kg$BOD_5$ 5/$m^3$d for the plastic media of Netring and cubic wire meshes. The $BOD_5$ removal rate increases with the recirculation ratio, but the rate of increase become smaller as the recirculation ratio increases over 20. When $BOD_5$ volumetric loading is 1.5kg$BOD_5$/$m^3$d, the required recirculation ratio to obtain 85% BOD$_{5}$ removal is about 20 for Netring and it was about 30 for cubic wire meshes.s.
