Vision 검사의 정확도 향상을 위한 영역 분할 히스토그램 지정 기법 (Area Separation Histogram Specification Method for Accuracy Improvement of Vision Inspection)

  • The goal of this paper is improvement of vision inspection accuracy by using histogram specification operation. The histogram is composed of horizontal axis of image intensity value and vertical axis of pixel number in image. In appearance vision inspection, the histogram of reference image and input image are different because of minutely lighting distinction. The minutely lighting distinction is main reason of vision inspection error in many cases. Therefore we made an effort for elevation of vision inspection accuracy by making the identical histogram of reference image and input image. As a result of this area separation histogram specification algorithm, we could increase the exactness of vision inspection and prevent system error from physical and spirit condition of human. Also this system has been developed only using PC, CCD Camera and Visual C++ for universal workplace.

  • In acquiring the surface information of a part, two types of measuring machines have been used: contact type and non-contact type. Since each measuring device has the pres and cons, an integrated measuring system is proposed to acquire the optimal point data. In order to implement the integrated measuring system, the relationship of coordinate systems between each measuring device should be established. In this paper, a new datum fixture and a calibration method for the multiple-sensor measuring system are proposed. The datum fixture is designed to interface two machines, a CMM and a laser scanner. The position of the datum fixture is calibrated by the axis information off motorized rotation stage which is used for a part setup.

  • Driving the need for machine vision system is growing consumer demand for quality and defect-free products. Especially it is the most important in tarpaulin's manufacturing process achieves automatically by machine vision instead of by man vision. In this paper pinholes detection is performed by using morphology algorithms. Top hat transform is one of morphology applications. This transform take high performance of defect detection in the case that unexpected changes occur in some non-uniform background. For pinholes defect, automatic visual inspection system has been developed, which was composed by a line-scan camera, illumination, a frame grabber, a motor driver and control units. This system has excellent capacity to defect pinholes to the 0.1 mm by 0.5 mm in size and to work in moving objects by maximum 20 m/min in speed.

자치구 포장상태평가등급 기준 개선 및 포장상태 예측지수 개발 (Development of Borough Road Pavement Condition Evaluation Criteria and Prediction Index)

  • OBJECTIVES : This study develops an evaluation method, which is useful to inspect pavement condition of specific boroughs. This is because pavement condition is broadly divided into five grades via visual inspection, which does not consider the types of deteriorations, and is decided by an investigator having a subjective viewpoint. This visual inspection method is not a satisfactory method for accurate maintenance when various deteriorations occur. METHODS : The performance model considers several factors such as crack, rutting, and IRI. This method is also modified from borough SPI based on SPI (Seoul Pavement Index). Considering limited budget of borough, PI (prediction index) is suggested, which is related to the grade of pavement condition evaluation and type of materials. Practical correlation review is also conducted with statistical verification by using the Monte Carlo simulation. RESULTS : The results of the study show that modified criteria are reasonable. First, the comparison between the visual inspection result and the SPI result indicates that the R-square value is sufficiently high. Second, through the common section, each evaluation method could be compared, and the result shows considerable similarity, which increases when the range is modified. Finally, PI for predicting remaining life and the random number SPI have common parts, which means that each indicator would be adequate to be used as an evaluation method. CONCLUSIONS : Comparison and analysis results show that the developed evaluation method is reasonable for specific boroughs where financial support is inadequate for the evaluation process by using the newer equipment. Moreover, for more accurate evaluation method, previous visual inspection data should be utilized, and the database of inspection equipment have to be collected.

Development of a Mobile Robot System for Visual Inspection under Hot Environment

  • A mobile robot system is developed to inspect the condition of industrial facilities under hot environment. The mobile robot is equipped with internal and external heat insulating material, an internal cooling mechanism, two CCD cameras, wireless communication devices for both the control and image signals, and an embedded controller. The portable controller is equipped with two joysticks for both the mobile robot and the inspection CCD camera, an LCD monitor, and several buttons. The developed mobile robot travels on the internal floor in hot furnaces by operators' joystick operation, captures the images of facilities in the furnaces using a zoom CCD camera, and sends the images to the portable controller through wireless communication. The mobile robot can be operated without any problem under hot environment less than 400$^{\circ}C$ in 30 minutes. This kind of automatic inspection mobile robot can be helpful to prevent significant troubles of industrial facilities without danger of human beings under harmful environment.

  • 전자내시경을 이용하여 양극처리된 알루미늄 실린더튜브 내면의 결함을 자동으로 검사하는 시스템을 개발하였다. 이 시스템은 크게 자동 결함검사 소프트웨어, 전자내시경 및 이송장치 등으로 구성되어 있다. 실험을 통하여 자동 결함검사의 최적검출 조건을 도출하여 실린더튜브 내면의 결함 검사에 적용한 결과 주요 결함 요소인 스크래치, 산화물, 라인, 웰드라인의 인식률을 99%로서 만족하였다. 자동 결함검사 시스템을 생산현장에 적용하면 기존의 육안 검사 시 작업자가 가지는 육체적인 피로도 줄여 작업효율을 증가시키며, 결함검출 자료를 바탕으로 제품의 품질을 향상시킬 수 있다.

  • The more integrated and smaller SMD are needed, new solder joints packaging technologies are developed in these days such as BGA(Ball Grid Array), Flip Chip, J-lead etc. But, it's unable to inspect solder joints in those devices by visual inspection methods, because they are hided by it's packages. To inspect those new SMD packages, an X-ray system for acquiring a cross-sectional image of a arbitrary plane is necessary. In this paper, an analysis for designing X-ray cross sectional imaging system is presented including the way for correcting the distortion of image intensifier. And we show computer simulation of that system with a simple PCB model to show it's usefulness in applying PCB solder joint inspection.

  • In this paper, we described an approach to design of precision optical system for visual inspection of solder joint defects of SMC(surface mount components) on PCBs(Printed Circuit Board). The illumination system, consisting of three tiered LED lamps and one main camera and four side view camera, is implemented to generated iso-contour on the solder joint according to gradient of the soldered surface. We analyze LED design parameter such as incident angle, diameter of LED ring, and so on to acquire uniform illumination.

  • This paper present an efficient techniques for visual inspection of taped electronic parts, suitable for real time implementation. The main environments of developed system are IBM-compatible personal computer, frame grabber, digital input-output board. It is connected to the programmable logic controller unit of the taping machine in real time. Using a queuing structure, operator or extractor machine can remove easily the defect one from production line. Also, we design a new illumination system for sacquring shape and subface features of object. Therefore, it redue pre-processing step and processing time.

  • Using the real-time image processing technique, we have developed an automatic visual inspection system which detects the defects of the surface muonted components in PCB( missing components, mislocation, mismounts, and reverse polarity, etc ) and collects the quality control and production management data. An image processing system based on a commercial parallel processor, TRANSPUTER by which the image processing time can be largely reduced was designed. Analyzing the collected data, the proposed inspection system contributes to the productivity improvement throughthe reduction of defective rate.
