외상 후 안혼(眼昏) 환자 1례 보고 (A Case of Visual disturbance by Blunt Ocular Trauma)

  • Ocular injury is one of the commonest causes of eye diseases, but its patterns and incidences are variable according to the environment. Blunt Ocular Trauma is one of causes of ocular injury. Visual disturbance by Blunt Ocular Trauma is rarely reported and we do not know the exact convalescence and healing method of that. We treated a patient suffered from visual disturbance by blunt ocular trauma with herbal medicine, acupuncture, cupping treatment. We diagnosed as Blood stasis and noxious water disease. We report a case of visual disturbance by blunt ocular trauma after treatments, we observed the improvement. Based on this study, it is considered that oriental medical treatment can be applied to the management of visual disturbance.

외란 관측기를 이용한 시각구동 방법의 구현 (Experiments on a Visual Servoing Approach using Disturbance Observer)

  • A visual servoing method has been proposed based on disturbance observer to eliminate the effect of the off-diagonal component of image feature Jacobian, since performance indices such as measurement sensitivity of visual features, sensitivity of the control to noise and controllability could be improved when an image feature Jacobian was given as a block diagonal matrix. In this paper, experimental results of disturbance observer-based visual servoing are discussed where Samsung FARAMAN-AS1 6-axis industrial robot manipulator is employed. Also, the feature saturator is proposed to stabilize the disturbance observer loop by saturating the differential changes of the image features.

  • This paper proposes a visual servoing method based on QR decomposition and disturbance observer. The QR decomposition factors the image feature Jacobian into a unitary matrix and an upper triangular matrix. And it is shown that several performance indices such as measurement sensitivity of visual features, sensitivity of the control to noise and controllability can be improved for any general image feature Jacobian by QR decomposition and disturbance observer. To show the validity of the proposed approach, visual servoing with stereo vision is carried out for a Samsung FARAMAN 6-axis industrial robot manipulator.

일시적 시력장애를 경험하는 안과환자의 불안에 대한 음악요법의 효과 (The Effect of Music Therapy on the State Anxiety in Ophthalmic In-patients Experiencing Momentary Visual Disturbance)

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of music therapy on the state anxiety and the vital signs in ophthalmic inpatients experiencing momentary visual disturbance. The patients listened to the music for or over 30 minutes a time for 3 days The subjects for this study were twenty-eights experiencing momentary visual disturbance in ophthalmic department of a hospital in Kwangju. They were assigned to two groups, fourteen to a experimental group and fourteen to a control group. The data were collected from November 22 to December 4, 1999 by means of state anxiety scale questionnaire and measurement of vital signs. The data were analyzed with SPSS programs. The results were as follows; 1. There were significant differences between the two groups on anxiety score after music therapy(t=-2.95 p=.007). 2. The first hypothesis that the experimental group who received music therapy would have less anxiety score than the control group who did not receive music therapy was supported (t=8.98, p=.000). 3. There were no significant differences between the two groups on change of vital signs after music therapy. 4. The second hypothesis that the experimental group who received music therapy would have more relived vital signs than the control group who did not receive music therapy was not supported. In conclusion, music therapy can be effective nursing intervention in decreasing anxiety of ophthalmic in-patients experiencing momentary visual disturbance.

Visual Disturbance Caused by a Nail Gun-Induced Penetrating Brain Injury

  • Penetrating brain injury caused by a nail gun is an uncommon clinical scenario reported in the literature. A 36-year-old male presented with a nail that had penetrated through the occipital bone. He was alert and neurologically intact except for visual disturbance. Computed tomography (CT) of the brain showed the nail lodged at the occipital lobe and the parietal lobe, with minimal intracerebral hemorrhage. The nail was placed in the occipital lobe close to the superior sagittal sinus. We removed the nail with craniotomy since the entrance of the nail was close to the superior sagittal sinus. There were no newly developed neurological deficits postoperatively. Immediate postoperative CT showed no newly developed lesions. The patient recovered well without any significant complications. Two weeks postoperatively, magnetic resonance imaging showed no remarkable lesions. The visual disturbance was followed up at the outpatient department. To summarize, we report a rare case of penetrating head injury by a nail gun and discuss relevant aspects of the clinical management.

시각과 평형각이 융합된 다이나믹한 시각 시스템에 관한 연구 (A Study on Dynamically Visual System that Vision and Sense of Equilibrium are Fused)

  • 카메라로 얻어진 화상을 근거로 계산된 속도분포를 시각정보로 이용하였으며, 이것으로부터 얻어진 대상물의 속도에 시선속도를 일치시켜 실험하였다. 즉 외란을 받은 환경에서도 안정된 화상을 얻기 위해서 외란이나 카메라 자체의 운동에 의해서 발생한 두부의 운동을 보상할 수 있는 눈의 운동이 필요하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 외란이 있는 환경에서 인간의 시선제어법 즉 시각과 평형각이 융합된 시선제어 알고리즘을 제안하고, 그에 대한 실험 결과에서 시각과 평형각이 융합된 시선제어가 시선제어만을 한 것과 비교하여 위치 편차가 적다는 것을 확인하였다. 이것은 카메라 받침대의 움직임이 각속도 센서에 의하여 보상되어 겉보기 속도가 적게 되어 속도의 추정오차도 적게 되는 효과가 있기 때문이었다.

  • To improve the visual servoing performance, several strategies were proposed in the past such as redundant feature points, using a point with different height and weighted selection of image features. The performance of these visual servoing methods depends on the configuration between the camera and object. And redundant feature points require much computation efforts. This paper proposes the visual servoing m based on the disturbance observer, which compe the upper off-diagonal component of image fe Jacobian to be null. The performance indices su sensitivity for a measure of richness, sensitiv the control to noise, and controllability are sho improved when the image feature Jacobian is giv a block diagonal matrix. Computer simulation carried out for a PUMA560 robot and show results to verify the effectiveness of the pro method.

자연형 IVB(Independent Visual Background)의 Simulator Sickness 감소효과 (Effects of Natural Independent Visual Background for Reducing Simulator Sickness)

  • Several studies indicated that an independent visual background (IVB) reduced simulator sickness (SS) and balance disturbance associated with exposure to virtual environments (VEs) and motion simulators. A recent study showed that an IVB comprised of an earth-fixed grid was less effective in a complex driving simulator than in a simple VE. Subjects' post-experiment reports indicated that the VE motion "induced" motion of the earth-fixed grid m. This led to the suggestion that an IVB comprised of clouds would be less subject to induced motion and therefore would alleviate nausea more effectively than a grid IVB. Clouds are "natural" and are usually perceived as relatively stable, whereas a grid has no inherent stability. 12 subjects were exposed to complex motion through a simulated environment in a driving simulator under 3 IVB conditions: grid, less clouds, many clouds. They reported less nausea when the many-cloud IVB was used relative to the grid IVB condition. grid IVB condition.
