  • The café has become an important representative "third place" where people study and rest. Hence, it is worthwhile for researchers to understand the needs of individual users as well as the requirements of people who visit such venues in groups. The identification of strategies that can help achieve larger, wider, higher, or deeper interior spaces in small and compact locations can generate benefits for both users and designers. In this study, where 56 interior design students participated, we used an eye-tracker and images of cafes to explore the relationships between spatial depth and the intention to visit a cafe space. The researchers digitally developed fifteen different conditions of space and measured the eye movements of the participants using an eye-tracker when they examined images that appeared to convey the most depth. Participants were also asked to imagine the proposed space images as cafes and to select one of the 15 images as the location that they would be most likely to visit individually and one that they would frequent in the company of other people. The research results revealed that certain ways of using interior design elements altered the participants' perceptions of spatial depth without any change being effected to the actual volume or the size of the space. The participants tended to perceive a space with a small decorative artwork on a dark toned wall with unconnected furniture as deeper than a space with no or large artwork on a light toned wall with contiguous furniture. Spatial depth was a more important consideration for an individual visit than for a group visit. The results of this exploratory study will help scholarly understanding of the role played by spatial depth in customer intentions to visit a cafe.

  • Social media is one of the important marketing channels for companies, changing the way interacting with customers. Marketers attract participation from customers' in social media platforms by producing branded content, which helps them gain various marketing results such as brand awareness, web traffic, and sales. The number of the empirical studies on the effects of social media on marketing performance is still low although various success stories and studies have been published. In particular, IT companies are trying to attract users onto their websites with social media content and promotions; however, they regard the number of the visitors as a vanity metric, which has little effectiveness. The study examined the Effect of the site introduced via Facebook, a typical social medium, on customers' revisit. Precedent studies proved that revisit, one of forms of major visit for satisfactory results of a website, is suitable for analyzing the operational output on Facebook pages. The results of the study demonstrated that Facebook content has a positive impact on website inflows and revisits. Also, it turns out that the higher the average website visit depth reinforces the positive relationship between the rate of the inflow and that of the site revisit.

  • This study investigated the differences in patient experience by arrangement type of medical tourism facilitators(MTF) from the pre-visit to visit stages. Specifically, patient experiences from each stage with different service providers (MTFs and medical institutions) were measured: provision of information and respect for patient preferences as pre-visit experiences with the facilitators, communication and concierge services as visit experiences with the facilitators, and medical services as medical institution experiences. The scale to measure foreign patients' experiences was modified from the 'Picker in-patient questionnaire(PPE)' and the 'Picker patient experience questionnaire(PPE-15)'. Quantitative data were collected by conducting a self-administered questionnaire on 173 patients from China, Russia, Mongolia, and Kazakhstan. Qualitative data were collected by conducting in-depth interviews with 9 patients and 9 service providers. The data were collected between January and October in 2019. Quantitative data was analyzed by SPSS 25 for Chi-squared test and ANOVA, and qualitative data were analyzed based on keywords. The main results are as follows. When foreign patients used only overseas MTFs, they had a relatively positive patient experience in respect of receiving pre-visit information(F=7.47, p<.01) and respect for patient preferences(F=3.11, p<.05). Looking at both domestic and overseas facilitators during the visit, the patient experience was relatively negative for communication(F=3.75, p<.05). Regarding medical institutions, patients had a relatively negative patient experience with regards to medical services when they used both domestic and overseas facilitators(F=6.49, p<.01). The implications of this study are as follows. Patients should have a seamless and high-quality experience regardless of the facilitator arrangement type. This can be prepared through service standardization for the service providers. It would be also necessary to consider each other's features and problems at the institutional level and to improve service coordination by having service providers periodically communicate with each other.

  • The contents of prescription service were comparatively analysed between health centers(HC) and private clinics(PC). Medical chart review was done for 330 otu-patients diagnosed with upper respiratory tract infection(UR) of 120 adults and 90 children, and gastritis or duodenitis of 120 adults. Emphasis on comparison was the prime cost of medication which used in prescription service. The results were as follows; 1. The prime costs fro the medication per visit of HC group were significantly higher than PC group in all three diseases, and the out of pocket payments of patients per visit were significantly lower in the HC group than PC group. 2. The reason for high prime costs of medication per visit of HC in adult case of URI were due to the idverse use of medication and long prescription period per visit. And high medication costs in children cases of URI in HC group were due to the longer prescription day. In cases of gastritis, the prime cost of medication was also higher because of longer prescription period and the higher prime cost of medication. The proportions of medications for injection in the HC and PC groups showed similar features. 3. In depth analysis of the prescription services showed the differences of the contents of medication. In adults cases of URI, the averaged cost of oral medication was significantly lower in HC group, but that of medication for injection was higher in HC group. In children cases of URI, the averaged cost of oral medication and medication for injection was lower in HC group than in PC group. But in the cases of gastritis it was was higher in HC group than in PC group. The prescription periods were longer in HC group than in PC group in all three diseases. As a conclusion prime medication cost and quality of prescription services of HC group were higher than PC group. In terms of health care the cost containment and quality assurance in physician visit for common disease, public sector utilization is good option for those perspectives. But it should not be generalized unless future study about structure and outcome research for quality assurance.

  • The objective of this study is to develop water saving irrigation method using water balance model in order to save rural water. Daily water balance components such as irrigation water, drainage water, effective rainfall, ET, and infiltration were measured in paddy fields. Model simulations were performed for different outlet heights and ponding depths. The outlet heights and the ponding depths are 2 cm, 4 cm, 6 cm, 8 cm, and 10 cm, respectively. Based on the simulation very shallow ponding depth of 2 cm with 10 cm outlet height showed the largest effective rainfall ratio and the smallest irrigation amount. Until the introduction of laser leveling dozer and automatic inlet control devices, it would be desirable to adopt 4cm ponding depth because of difficulty of land leveling and frequency of farmer's field visit. The results of this study will be applied in the paddy farming and can improve water use efficiency.

  • This research, with the participants of the female elderly using a home-visit bath among long-term care services, made an in-depth analysis of what they experience while getting a home-visit bath. We conducted in-depth interviews with 8 elderly people. According to the result, the female elderly experienced the absence of a caregiver, difficulty in carrying out daily life due to physical diseases, getting what they need by themselves, getting comfortable in body and mind, accepting their given situation though feeling shame at getting a bath, and expressing their desires. In addition, they had a close relationship with a care helper. On the basis of the results, a systematic training system which could intensify the professionalism of care helpers was suggested. For the enhancement of the elderly's emotional stability in a long-term care, an integrated case management system was also suggested, which supports the family by organizing an integrated network by region between a long-term care service, home-visit care service, welfare center, and the National Health Insurance Corporation.

  • In this paper, we derive i) a function to estimate snow cover fraction (SCF) from a MODIS satellite image that has a wide observational area and short re-visit period and ii) a function to determine snow depth from the estimated SCF map. The SCF equation is important for estimating the snow depth from optical images. The proposed SCF equation is defined using the Gaussian function. We found that the Gaussian function was a better model than the linear equation for explaining the relationship between the normalized difference snow index (NDSI) and the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI), and SCF. An accuracy test was performed using 38 MODIS images, and the achieved root mean square error (RMSE) was improved by approximately 7.7 % compared to that of the linear equation. After the SCF maps were created using the SCF equation from the MODIS images, a relation function between in-situ snow depth and MODIS-derived SCF was defined. The RMSE of the MODIS-derived snow depth was approximately 3.55 cm when compared to the in-situ data. This is a somewhat large error range in the Republic of Korea, which generally has less than 10 cm of snowfall. Therefore, in this study, we corrected the calculated snow depth using the relationship between the measured and calculated values for each single image unit. The corrected snow depth was finally recorded and had an RMSE of approximately 2.98 cm, which was an improvement. In future, the accuracy of the algorithm can be improved by considering more varied variables at the same time.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the prognostic factors related to tooth loss after 5 years of periodontal surgery in periodontal disease patients. Materials and Methods: From January to December 2017, 22 patients and 124 teeth who underwent periodontal treatment through periodontal surgery were targeted. At the time of treatment, the measured values were evaluated after recording the maximum probing depth, average periodontal probing depth, number of root, furcation involvement, pulp vitality, and prosthesis state on the day of periodontal surgery. Based on the initial records at the time of visit, patient-related factors were gender, age, smoking, tooth loss due to periodontal disease at the time of first visit, diabetes, and maintenance period. The influence of each factor on tooth loss was evaluated. Results: As a result of examining the influence of tooth-related factors on tooth loss, the maximum probing depth depth (P: 0.000), bone loss (P: 0.021) was found to have a significant effect on tooth loss. Conclusion: As a result of examining the influence of patient-related factors on tooth loss, any variables had no significant effect. Bone loss, maximum probing depth acted as statistically significant prognostic factors for tooth loss in patients who underwent periodontal surgery.
