전문가 경험지식을 활용하는 확장성 있는 가상훈련 평가 분석 시스템 (Extensible Evaluation and Analysis System for Virtual Training using Experiential Knowledge of Expert)

  • 실제 환경보다 더 안전하고 적은 비용으로 실제 훈련과 유사한 학습효과를 기대할 수 있는 가상훈련(Virtual Training)이 최근 주목받고 있다. 그러나 기존의 가상훈련 시스템들은 학습자의 훈련결과에 대한 평가를 평가자의 정성적인 판단에 의존해온 경우가 대부분이었다. 또한, 평가와 분석 기능이 해당 시스템에 국한이 되어 시스템마다 별도의 평가 분석 시스템이 필요했다. 본 논문에서는 가상훈련의 효과적인 평가와 분석을 위해 전문가의 경험지식을 활용하는 확장성 있는 가상훈련 평가 분석 시스템을 제안한다. 우선, 제안하는 시스템이 다양한 형태의 가상훈련 시스템과 연동될 수 있도록 Open API의 적용 방안을 다룬다. 그리고 가상훈련에 대해 전문가 경험지식을 별도로 구성하여 평가 분석 시 비교 대상과의 평가 효율성을 높였다. 구성된 전문가 경험지식은 제안된 평가 분석 절차에 따라 학습자의 훈련수행 결과와 정량적으로 비교 분석할 수 있게 했다.

  • Training is one of the representative application fields of virtual reality technology where users can have virtual experience in a training task and working environment. Widely used in the medical and military fields, virtual-reality-based training systems are also useful in industrial fields, such as the aerospace industry, since they show superiority over real training environments in terms of accessibility, safety, and cost. The shipbuilding industry is known as a labor-intensive industry that demands a lot of skilled workers. In particular, painting jobs in the shipbuilding industry require a continuous supplement of human resources since many workers leave due to the poor working environment. In this paper, the authors present a virtual-reality-based training system for spray painting tasks in the shipbuilding industry. The design issues and implementation details of the training system are described, and also its advantages and shortcomings are discussed based on use cases in actual work fields.

  • A quantitative evaluation of postural balance training using a virtual reality bicycle system was performed. In the experiment, the effectiveness of virtual reality bicycle system on postural balance training was analyzed with four male subjects in their twenties. The parameters measured during cycling were cycling time, average velocity, number of times subject deviated from path, and weight shift. Those parameters were evaluated for the quantification of the extent of control. We also measured the parameters on postural control capability after 5th trial and 10th trial in a balance testing system with a force plate to find out the effectiveness of the training. In the balance test with force plate, it was found out that the weight shift was almost zero and the deviation from the target trace reduced significantly after the training with the virtual cycle. The result showed that the virtual bicycle system was an effective system as a rehabilitation training device.

  • 가상훈련(Virtual Training)은 특정한 훈련을 목적으로 훈련에 필요한 환경이나 상황을 가상으로 구현하여 실제상황처럼 진행하는 교육 훈련으로서 최근 가상현실 기술의 급격한 발전으로 현실세계에서 직접 경험하지 못하는 상황을 실감적으로 체험하는 것에 대한 요구가 더욱 증대하고 있다. 특히, 가상훈련 시스템은 가상현실 기술을 활용하여 몰입감과 상호작용 제공을 통한 학습 효과가 높아 직접 관찰이 어렵거나 텍스트와 2D 자료로 설명하기에 어려운 학습내용, 가시화하기 어려운 내용, 추상적인 학습개념, 고위험 및 경비가 많이 드는 시험 등의 교육 분야에 매우 효과적이다. 본 연구에서는 수요를 반영한 가상훈련 시스템 개발을 위해 최근 교육의 패러다임인 국가직무능력표준 NCS (National Competency) 교육 분야를 분석하여 적용 가능한 가상훈련 콘텐츠를 제안한다. 향후, 제안한 가상훈련 콘텐츠들이 개발되어 NCS 교육과정을 가장 잘 반영하고 있는 폴리텍 대학등 대학 교육에 적용 가능할 것이라 사료된다.

  • This paper describes a development of rehabilitation training system for the postural balance control. A new rehabilitation training system, designated as a virtual cycling system, was developed to improve postural balance control by combining virtual reality technology with an unfixed bicycle. In this experiment, 20 normal adults were tested to investigate the influencing parameters of postural balance control.   • The Republic of Korea (ROK) Army is developing the Army Synthetic Battlefield Training System and plans divisional-level Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) integrated training. This study proposes a plan to apply VR/AR/MR (Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality/Mixed Reality) technology to LVC integrated training systems to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of future LVC integrated training. The study investigated immersive military training systems in the ROK and advanced countries. As a result, we confirm that immersive technology can significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of military training. Accordingly, we review the key technologies required for building a defense training system with immersive features and propose training subjects that can be enhanced in effectiveness and efficiency when built with an immersive approach. We also propose a plan to apply immersive technology to the Live, Virtual, and Constructive systems for the development of future LVC integrated training system.

  • In the real environment, it is very limited for the trainees to participate the effective training using actual training equipments by themselves and also to simulate several hazard situations for safety because of the direct exposure to the hazards of the actual system. But the virtual environment(VE) can help the trainees to get the effective training participating by themselves and to simulate all kind of possible situation without the exposure to the hazards of the actual system. In this paper, the nor· developed VE system for safety training is introduced. The system is more effective and economic one than the other system developed in Japan.
