클라우드 클러스터에서 가상머신 재배치시간을 단축하기 위한 재매핑 기법 (A Virtual Machine Remapping Scheme for Reducing Relocation Time on a Cloud Cluster)

  • 본 논문에서는 클라우드 클러스터에서 가상머신(VM: Virtual Machine)의 재배치시간을 단축할 수 있는 VM 재매핑 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 입력으로 주어진 VM 맵으로부터 순차적으로 이주해야 하는 VM들을 찾고 그 중 일부 VM들의 목적지를 교환함으로써 VM 재배치시간을 단축한다. 목적지가 교환될 VM은 이주 완료시간시간과 물리머신들의 가용 자원량을 근거로 하여 선정된다. 그리고 목적지 교환은 VM 재배치 시간이 더 이상 단축될 수 없을 때까지 반복된다. 시뮬레이션을 통하여 VM 맵을 제안한 기법으로 재매핑 했을 때 재매핑 전에 비해 VM 재배치 시간이 최대 42.7% 단축되었음을 확인한다.

  • Visualized information platforms through building information modeling (BIM) such as virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) improves the efficiency of architectural information exchange. Despite that, less effort has been directed to evaluate the effectiveness of different BIM visualization platforms for architectural design review. This study fills these gaps and compares three BIM visualization tools for reviewing diverse architectural review factors and technology acceptance degree. Three main BIM visualization tools, which are desktop-based, virtual reality-based and augmented reality-based, were employed and different architectural review factors and user's technology acceptance degree was measured. As a result, VR and AR environment showed better visual presentation than desktop environment during design review. In terms of the technology acceptance level, VR and AR environments have received higher ratings compared to desktop environments. The detailed findings provide guidelines for participants and researchers involved in design review process to selectively adopt VR and AR system to various architectural design review components.

Time-Series Estimation based AI Algorithm for Energy Management in a Virtual Power Plant System

  • This paper introduces a novel approach to time-series estimation for energy load forecasting within Virtual Power Plant (VPP) systems, leveraging advanced artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms, namely Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA). Virtual power plants, which integrate diverse microgrids managed by Energy Management Systems (EMS), require precise forecasting techniques to balance energy supply and demand efficiently. The paper introduces a hybrid-method forecasting model combining a parametric-based statistical technique and an AI algorithm. The LSTM algorithm is particularly employed to discern pattern correlations over fixed intervals, crucial for predicting accurate future energy loads. SARIMA is applied to generate time-series forecasts, accounting for non-stationary and seasonal variations. The forecasting model incorporates a broad spectrum of distributed energy resources, including renewable energy sources and conventional power plants. Data spanning a decade, sourced from the Korea Power Exchange (KPX) Electrical Power Statistical Information System (EPSIS), were utilized to validate the model. The proposed hybrid LSTM-SARIMA model with parameter sets (1, 1, 1, 12) and (2, 1, 1, 12) demonstrated a high fidelity to the actual observed data. Thus, it is concluded that the optimized system notably surpasses traditional forecasting methods, indicating that this model offers a viable solution for EMS to enhance short-term load forecasting.

  • The objective of this research is to construct and build a software platform to enable collaboration among enterprise headquarters, product designers, software engineers, manufacturing plants, and suppliers which are located at different remote locations via internet. In specific, agent technology is adopted as a software vehicle to automate demand as a software vehicle to automate demand and supply process in the internet environment. Agents are programs that act an behalf of their human users to perform laborious tasks such as information locating, accessing, filtering, integrating, adapting and resolving inconsistencies. Global competition is forcing the present day industry to produce high quality product more fast and inexpensively. In Korea, most labor-intensive industries have moved to China and other Asian countries for cost reduction. The need for fast information exchange has increased among the remote locations for the cooperation and coordination. In this research, a virtual global manufacturing system will be constructed that distributes production schedule among remote places, acts as a bridge between the headquarters and manufacturing plants, distributes tasks and collates different solutions between demand and supply using agent. The external communication protocol takes HTML format, internal message handling requires SGML for document exchange, and KQML for agent implementation. The expected benefits will be : reduced cost of real-time information exchange, realization of global manufacturing environment, the maximum utilization of internet for the enterprise data exchange.

The Trend of Blockchain in Vietnam and Its Implications for ROK

  • Bitcoin and blockchain are often making headlines not only on TV or media but also among the public in today's society. These technologies have been developed after the risk of the centralized financial system came to the fore during the 2007 global financial crisis. Since then, an anonymous inventor called Satoshi Nakamoto penned the bitcoin white paper where a blockchain-based reference implementation was introduced. Bitcoin was able to achieve unprecedented growth by positioning itself as one of the top global currencies in terms of market capitalization after five years since its development. The pace of Vietnam's economic development is notably fast among Asian nations, while the nation was expected to be a Southeast Asian blockchain hub but they have banned virtual currency trading recently. However, they've also designated the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) as a responsible agency for the research of blockchain-based cryptocurrencies, the construction of a service ecosystem, and their test operations. The fast-growing economy, increasing number of smartphone users, and the Vietnam government's support policies for startups substantiate these efforts. Therefore, this paper attempts to study the current status of Vietnam's blockchain technology that has been considered to be the center of blockchain systems right behind Singapore, and its implications for Korean companies.

  • As the automation of ship production system proliferates, it is unavoidable to move the real machinery, facility, application software, and virtual environment from the heterogeneous data environment to the integrated one. However, it is a prevailing situation that each component operates under the different environment, due to the inability of interchanging the data in a structured manner between the components. The issue is obstacles to improvement of the application system. To facilitate seamless exchange of data among the manufacturing systems, STEP, PDML, and XML has been tried by other studies. This study has investigated how XML data can be applied to exchange the data among the ship production system components. XML data is applied to the forming shop in shipyard to overcome the present difficulties on sharing and exchanging of the information. An example of forming information is represented by XML to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed approach. In addition, an application of XML information applicable to virtual factory and electronic work order sheet is included.

  • 가상머신 마이그레이션 과정에서 무단 접근, 데이터 변조 등의 보안 위협이 발생할 수 있다. 특히, 가상머신 마이그레이션은 사용자의 주요 데이터 및 중요 인프라 정보를 전송해야하기 때문에 해당 보안 위협이 발생할 경우 다른 클라우드 서비스에 비교적 위험성이 높다. 이러한 이유로 최근 가상머신 마이그레이션을 위한 동적인증의 필요성이 제기되고 있다. 이에 따라, 본 논문은 기존의 가상머신 마이그레이션을 위한 인증 기법의 취약점을 개선하기 위해 OTP 기반의 동적인증 프레임워크를 제안한다. 이는 가상머신 마이그레이션 요청 모듈 및 동작 모듈로 구성된다. 요청 모듈에서는 사용자가 마이그레이션 요청 시 OTP 기반의 사용자의 인증 과정 및 데이터 센터로의 마이그레이션 요청 과정을 포함한다. 동작 모듈에서는 SPEKE을 이용한 데이터 센터 간 안전한 키 교환 과정과 데이터 센터와 물리 서버 간 TOTP 기반의 상호인증 과정을 포함한다.

  • 가상화폐는 금융분야에서 블록체인(Block chain), 인공지능(Artificial Intelligence: AI), 빅데이터(Big Data) 등의 신기술이 접목되면서 등장하게 되었다. 본 연구는 최근 세계적으로 대두된 가상화폐에 대한 쟁점들을 탐구하였고, 중앙정부로부터 벗어나 분권화된 개별 거래로 보안이 강화된 블록체인의 장점과 이를 악용하여 여러 문제가 발생되는 단점에 관련된 내용을 포함하였다. 가상화폐는 인터넷에서 익명으로 거래되는 특성상 랜섬웨어, 사기, 마약거래, 탈세, 자금세탁 등 범죄에 크게 노출되어 있다. 범죄자들은 익명으로 거래되는 가상화폐를 이용하여 수사기관의 추적을 쉽게 피하고 있다. 정부의 규제 안이 계속 발표되고 있고, 가상화폐 거래소에서도 자율 규제 안이 발표되었으나 근본적인 해결방안이 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문의 목적은 가상화폐의 악용사례에 대한 문제점을 고찰하여 가상화폐의 건전한 거래를 활성화할 수 있는 방안을 찾는 것이다. 그러나 가상화폐 거래를 활성화시키고 제도적으로 안정화시키는데 있어서 한 국가의 노력만으로 이루어지지 않는다는 한계가 있다. 미성년자 및 외국인의 거래금지와 사용자 실명화는 상당히 환영 할만한 조치이나 이는 단순한 디지털 상품이 아닌 화폐 본연의 기능을 증대하는 수단으로 거듭나는 계기가 되기 위해서 아직까지 많은 과제들이 산재하다. 가상화폐의 음성적인 측면보다는 양성적인 측면이 더욱 활성화 될 수 있도록 전 세계 공통의 노력이 필요하다.

IoT 가상환경 플랫폼에서의 무결성 보장 시스템:Hyperledger Indy와 MQTT를 통하여 (Integrity Guarantee System in IoT Virtual Environment Platform: Through Hyperedfger Indy and MQTT)

  • 본 논문에서는 Hyperledger Indy와 MQTT를 결합하여 가상환경에서의 IoT(Internet of Things) 디바이스의 데이터 무결성을 높이는 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템은 발행-구독(pub/sub) 패턴의 통신에서 분산형 네트워크를 활용한 DPKI(Decentralized Public Key Infrastructure) 구조를 실현하여 중앙집중형 시스템의 한계를 보완한다. IoT 디바이스의 데이터 무결성을 보장하기 위해 디지털 서명 기술을 적용하였고 클라이언트, IoT 디바이스, 브로커, 블록체인의 네 가지 핵심 요소 간의 통신 시나리오와 분산 식별자(Decentralized Identifier)를 활용한 토픽 구조를 통해 가상 환경에서 안전화고 투명한 데이터 교환을 위한 체계적인 방법을 제시한다. 본 논문은 제안된 시스템의 성능을 입증하기 위해 네 가지 시나리오에 대해서 실험을 수행하고 가상환경에서의 통신 성능을 평가하였다. 실험 결과 제안된 시스템이 가상환경에서 신뢰성 있는 IoT 데이터 통신구조를 제공함을 확인하였다.
