  • Recently, an attack to an application incapacitates the intrusion detection rule, the defense policy for a network and database and induces intrusion incidents. Thus, it is necessary to study integration security to ensure the security of an internal network and database from that attack. This article is about building an integration security system to prevent an attack to an application set with intrusion detection rules. It responds to network-based attack through detection, disperses attack with the internal integration security system through virtual clustering and load balancing, and sets up defense policy for attacking destination packets, analyzes and records attack packets, and updates rules through monitoring and analysis. Moreover, this study establishes defense policy according to attacking types to settle access traffic through virtual machine partition policy and suggests an integration security system applied to prevent attack and tests its defense. The result of this study is expected to provide practical data for integration security defense for hacking attack from outside.

  • Due to the 4th industrial revolution and an aged society, many studies are being conducted to apply virtual reality to medical field. Research on dementia is especially active. This paper proposes virtual reality based on cognitive rehabilitation contents using image recognition and clustering method to improve cognitive and physical disabilities caused by dementia. Unlike the existing cognitive rehabilitation system, this paper uses travel photos that reflect the memories of the subjects to be treated. In order to generate automated cognitive rehabilitation contents, we extract face information, food pictures, place information, and time information from photographs, and normalization is performed for clustering. And we present scenarios that can be used as cognitive rehabilitation contents using travel photos in virtual reality space.

  • We introduce a way to construct a supercomputing capable system with some networked PCs, running the Linux operating system and computing power comparable with expensive commercial workstations, and with the Parallel Virtual Machine (PVM) software which enables one to control the total CPUs and memories of the networked PCs. By benchmarking the system using a PVM parallel program, we find that the system's parallel efficiency is close to 90 %.

  • The virtual memory system in 4.4 BSD operating systems exploits a clustering scheme to reduce disk I/Os in paging out (or flushing) modified pages that are intended to be replaced in order to make free rooms in memory. Upon the page out of a victim page, the scheme stores a cluster (or group) of modified pages contiguous with the victim in the virtual address space to swap disk at a single disk write. However, it fails to find large clusters of contiguous pages if applications change pages not adjacent with each other in the virtual address space. To address the problem, we propose a new clustering scheme called Multiple-Object Clustering (MOC), which together stores multiple clusters in the virtual address space at a single disk write instead of paging out the clusters to swap space at separate disk I/Os. This multiple-cluster transfer allows the virtual memory system to significantly decrease disk writes, thus improving the page-out performance. Our experiments in the FreeBSD 6.2 show that MOC improves the execution times of realistic benchmarks such as NS2, Scimark2 SOR, and nbench LU over the traditional clustering scheme ranging from 9 to 45%.

  • In this paper, we present a virtual laboratory platform (VLP) baptized Mercury allowing students to make practical work (PW) on different aspects of mobile wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Our choice of WSNs is motivated mainly by the use of real experiments needed in most courses about WSNs. These experiments require an expensive investment and a lot of nodes in the classroom. To illustrate our study, we propose a course related to energy efficient and safe weighted clustering algorithm. This algorithm which is coupled with suitable routing protocols, aims to maintain stable clustering structure, to prevent most routing attacks on sensor networks, to guaranty energy saving in order to extend the lifespan of the network. It also offers a better performance in terms of the number of re-affiliations. The platform presented here aims at showing the feasibility, the flexibility and the reduced cost of such a realization. We demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithms that contribute to the familiarization of the learners in the field of WSNs.

  • We develop a low complexity cooperative diversity protocol for low energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH) based wireless sensor networks. A cross layer approach is used to obtain spatial diversity in the physical layer. In this paper, a simple modification in clustering algorithm of the LEACH protocol is proposed to exploit virtual multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) based user cooperation. In lieu of selecting a single cluster-head at network layer, we proposed M cluster-heads in each cluster to obtain a diversity order of M in long distance communication. Due to the broadcast nature of wireless transmission, cluster-heads are able to receive data from sensor nodes at the same time. This fact ensures the synchronization required to implement a virtual MIMO based space time block code (STBC) in cluster-head to sink node transmission. An analytical method to evaluate the energy consumption based on BER curve is presented. Analysis and simulation results show that proposed cooperative LEACH protocol can save a huge amount of energy over LEACH protocol with same data rate, bit error rate, delay and bandwidth requirements. Moreover, this proposal can achieve higher order diversity with improved spectral efficiency compared to other virtual MIMO based protocols.

  • As one of the new self-organizing and self-configuration broadband networks, wireless mesh networks are being increasingly attractive. In order to solve the load balancing problem in wireless mesh networks, this paper proposes a novel multi-path routing algorithm based on clustering (Cluster_MMesh) for wireless mesh networks. In the clustering stage, on the basis of the maximum connectivity clustering algorithm and k-hop clustering algorithm, according to the idea of maximum connectivity, a new concept of node connectivity degree is proposed in this paper, which can make the selection of cluster head more simple and reasonable. While clustering, the node which has less expected load in the candidate border gateway node set will be selected as the border gateway node. In the multi-path routing establishment stage, we use the intra-clustering multi-path routing algorithm and inter-clustering multi-path routing algorithm to establish multi-path routing from the source node to the destination node. At last, in the traffic allocation stage, we will use the virtual disjoint multi-path model (Vdmp) to allocate the network traffic. Simulation results show that the Cluster_MMesh routing algorithm can help increase the packet delivery rate, reduce the average end to end delay, and improve the network performance.

  • In this paper, we propose the obstacle database management module for obstacle estimation and clustering. The proposed G-eye manager system can create customized walking route for blind people using the UI manager and verify the coordinates of the path. Especially, G-eye management system designed a regional information module. The regional information module can improve the loading speed of the obstacle data by classifying the local information by clustering the coordinates of the obstacle. In this paper, we evaluate the reliability of the walking route generated from the obstacle map. We obtain the coordinate value of the path avoiding the virtual obstacle from the proposed system and analyze the error rate of the path avoiding the obstacle according to the size of the obstacle. And we analyze the correlation between obstacle size and route by classifying virtual obstacles into sizes.

  • In this paper, we study the methodology of distributing the requests of clients based on the state of real server in the LVS(Linux virtual server) clustering system. The WLC(weighted least connection) algorithm in the LVS cluster system is studied. The load distributing algorithm which assigns a weight into each real server is devised by considering the load of real servers. The load test is executed to estimate the load of real servers using a load generating tool. Throughout the result of the experiment, we suggest new load distributing algorithm based on the usage of physical memory of each real server. It is shown that the correction potentiality of new algorithm is somewhat better than that of the WLC algorithm.
