A Study on the Reading Education Program on Middle School Students' Attitudes toward School Violence and Empathic Ability (독서교육 프로그램이 중학생의 학교폭력태도와 공감능력에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to present the need of developing reading education programs for preventing school violence that reading education program has on teenagers' attitude, awareness and empathy of school violence. According to the analysis results is as follows. First, Reading education program influenced on the attitude of the school violence. They had a meaningful effect about the sub-factor of the school violence permissive, attitude for the victim and attacker. Second, Reading education program had an influence on empathy ability. They had a meaningful effect about the sub-factor of the empathy ability take view point, empathic concern, individual anguish and imaging.

  • The physical disabled are using various types of assistive devices and reading assistance device is have been researched and development. After all reading assistance device which being marketed present for the physical disabled's features is simply limited to turing the page. In this paper, Implemented prototype model of the reading assistance device for the physical disabled that is have designed to modify to improve the success rate of turing page and conjunction with mobile devices such as PDA to provide more convenient and useful features. And not only for the disabled then take a look at Universal design concept of view of the tool can be useful the public also.

The Effect of Interpretive Style Scientific Reading Materials on the Change of High School Students' Philosophical Viewpoints on Science (해석적인 서술방식으로 구성된 과학 읽기 자료가 고등학생의 과학철학적 관점에 미치는 영향)

  • The main purpose of this study was to examine the effects of interpretive style reading materials on high school students philosophical viewpoints on science. Subjects for this study were 137 girl students in four classes of a high school located in Daejeon city. The classes were divided into two groups: experimental groups and control groups. Students in the experimental groups were administered a series of the reading materials over thirty-six sessions. Additionally, PPP(Philosophical Perspectives Prove) was used in order to assess students philosophical viewpoints on science. Results of the study showed that the interpretive style reading materials takes effect on the change of students philosophical viewpoints on science. At the initial stage, a number of students exhibited viewpoints inclined toward inductivism. As time goes by, however, viewpoint of inductivism was decreased and view of falcificationism and view of relativism were increased. The results also indicated that the effect of intervention was stable.

  • As we enter the 21st century. Korean libraries have embarked on a journey of change. The reason that libraries in Korea have sought to achieve dynamic changes is that various citizens' organizations have analyzed the issue from their point of view deduced the problem. conveyed this to the general public and thus revitalized the structure of mutual understanding in reaching a solution. The two most notable civilian organizations active in the Korean library area are 'the National Union for Revival of School Libraries' and 'the Citizen Action for Reading Culture'. This study examined the history and activities of these organizations and investigated how they worked with the central and local governments for improving school and public libraries and for promoting reading.

  • 본 논문에서는 가정에서 사용되는 검침 가능한 유틸리티의 원격검침을 위한 전자식 원격검침기의 구현과 지그비 및 LabVIEW를 활용한 모니터링 시스템 구축을 목표로 한다. 가정에 공급되는 유틸리티의 검침방법은 대부분 검침원에 의한 개별방문을 통하여 이루어지고 있어 방문검침 방식에 따른 민원발생과 검침데이터의 정확성 문제, 가정보안 문제 등으로 인하여 효율적으로 검침이 이루어지지 않는 실정이다. 이러한 문제점을 해소하기 위해서 지그비 및 LabVIEW를 활용하여 원격검침하게 되면 검침 데이터에 대한 신뢰성문제, 인건비 절약, 가정 보안문제가 해결될 뿐만 아니라 U-city구축에도 일조를 할 것으로 기대된다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 지그비를 활용한 무선원격검침 시스템 구축과 LabVIEW를 이용한 데이터 모니터링 환경을 구축하여 향후의 검침 지능화를 위한 토대를 마련하였다.

Some Problems of Reading Donguisusebowon (『동의수세보원(東醫壽世保元)』 해석의 몇 가지 문제들)

  • Objectives Two conflicting readings of "Donguisusebowon" so far have been presented that Sasang Constitutional Medicine inherited the traditional Five Elements theory and that it was a new perspective on its own right. The main purpose of this paper is to review the theoretical ground of Sasang Constitutional Medicine to see whether it has inherited the Traditional Korean Medicine, and show that it had been developed as an original view independent of the Five Elements theory. Methods To do this, I inquired into the theoretical background of Sasang Constitutional Medicine as well as its philosophical premises and its leading ideas. Results and Conclusions As a result, I have found that Sasang Constitutional Medicine is an original medical theory developed in empirical terms on its own right, divorced from the transcendental view of the Five Elements theory, while borrowing some concepts from I-Ching and Neo-Confucianism only for technical tools. In short, Sasang Constitutional Medicine may well be put as calling for a reappraisal of the Han-medical and Confucian accounts of human being, and a transition from speculative method based on the Five Elements theory to a verifiable empirical method. In this vein, my reading of Sasang Constitutional Medicine in empirical perspective may well be appraised as presenting a new way to further inquiries into the theoretical nature of it, and to getting itself across with Western medicine as well.

A Polyphonic Approach to French Proverbs and the Readings of the Combination ′Opinion Verb + Proverb′ (다성적 관점에서 본 프랑스어 속담과 ′의견동사+속담′ 구문의 해독)

  • This article aims to define the nature of proverbs from a polyphonic point of view and examine different readings of the complement involved in the combination of a proverb with a verb of personal opinion. An utterer of a proverb is not himself the author of the proverb. He may well be a 'speaker' of a proverb, but from a polyphonic view point he is not an 'enunciator' of the principle that underlies it. When we say that a speaker of a proverb is not its enunciator, we do not simply mean that he is not the author of the 'content' of the proverb he speaks: we mean that he is not the author of its 'form' either. The fact that a proverb loses its proverbial character when one paraphrases it proves that its form is not at the speaker's disposal. But a single factor cannot be held responsible for what a proverb is. As an indicator of the 'wisdom of the nation,' or vox populi, a proverb is the achievement of the 'collective enunciator.' The polyphony inherent in the proverb pits a particular speaker against a collective enunciator. This collective character of the proverb as a vox populi comes from its character as a phrasal denomination. Given that a proverb reflects a collective judgment and not a personal opinion, how do we interpret the combination of a proverb with a verb of personal opinion such as I think that ...\ulcorner Such a combination gives rise to readings at distinct levels: two types of metalinguistic reading and a reading based on the content of the proverb. The first level of reading, being applicative in nature, can be local or general, depending on the speaker's opinion as to the applicability of the proverb to a situation, particular or general. These applicative readings always involve polyphonic dissociation between the speaker and the enunciator. The second level of reading, which depends on the content of the proverb, is the result of the operation of deproverbialization, which makes the proverb lose its denominative status to preserve only its status as a generic phrase. The proverb, thus deproverbialized, looks like the series 'NP + VP.' For this reading, the speaker of the proverb takes into consideration the possibility of attributing a predicate to a nominal syntagm. Here occurs an identity between the speaker and the enunciator. It is not the case, however, that one can deproverbialize just any proverbs. In approaching to a locally typifying generic phrase, a proverb admits of being deproverbialized by an opinion verb only when its form does not render it difficult, either syntactically or metaphorically, to incorporate that proverb into the relevant combination, and when the proverb intrinsically possesses the traits that meet the conditions for the use of the opinion verb at hand. One can also maintain, based on the notion of deproverbialization, that a proverb expresses a collective judgment, a deproverbialized individual judgment.

On Franco Moretti's World Literature: Seen from the Perspective of Periodical Studies (프랑코 모레티의 세계문학론 비판 - 매체론의 관점에서 -)

  • The works of a literary and cultural historian Franco Moretti are conspicuous in many ways. Trained in Marxism and Russian formalism, he participated in the construction of the New Left in England. Also, he interestingly interpreted the socialization of the individual through the genre of bildungsroman. Then, he shifted his research interest to the notion of world literature, and to explore its global scale, he developed his own quantitative approach combined with advanced computer technology in digital humanities. His recent publication reveals that Moretti conducted a social critique of the European bourgeois culture with his new quantitative method. His macroscopic view of literature and use of cutting-edge technology in his research inspire historians of Korean literature located in the so-called periphery of world literature. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the idea of world literature outlined by Franco Moretti by reviewing his method called "distant reading" and examples of such an approach. His distant reading is to construct a macroscopic archive through inclusion of forgotten works from literary history and to analyze morphological patterns that frequently appear in the archive. His book entitled Graphs, Maps, Trees is a collection of examples of which he applied distant reading. By delving into such cases, I will raise questions about Moretti's macroscopic perspective of world literature in conjunction with Korean literature. As located at the periphery of global circulation of literary knowledge, Korea appropriated Western genres, established its literary institutions, and developed book markets through modern newspapers and magazines. This experience of furthering modern literature through periodicals would provide another view to revisit Moretti's world literature.

Sustaining Effect of Reading Comprehensive Strategy Program for Underachieving Gifted Students (중학교 미성취영재를 위한 읽기 이해 전략 프로그램 효과의 지속성 탐색)

  • This study examines the sustaining power of program effects of Reading Comprehensive Strategy Program, for underachieving gifted students in middle schools, which was developed and applied by Choi(2015). The study was a kind of follow up study of Choi(2015) as this study traced and collected all data from the same samples that Choi(2015) used since Choi(2015) stopped his program and data collection from 31 participants for 9 to 12 months. As the results, Among 11 subjects, who overcome underachievement through Choi(2015)'s Reading Comprehensive Strategy Program, 5 subjects could consistently maintained their performance level. However, 3 subjects could not maintain their performance and went back to the underachieving level, and another 3 showed instability as they went up and down around the border line. And among 20 subjects, who could not help the underachieving level through Choi(2015)'s program, 5 subjects could reach the achieving level. But 15 subjects still remained in their underachieving level. In conclusion, we may say that at least 16.1%(5 among 31) of underachieving gifed students could overcome their underachiving issue by Choi(2015)'s program even in the most pessimistic view, and 51.6%(16 amoung 3) in the most optimistic view. After all, at least about 50% cases could not be explained only by cognitive factors such as absence of reading comprehensive strategy. We suggest that we should handle the underachieving issues of gifted students by more comprehensive approaches.

A Study on the Spatial Configuration by Investigation and Analysis of user's behavior of Public Libraries in Korea (국내 공공도서관의 이용자 행위조사.분석에 따른 공간구성에 관한 연구)

  • The study aims to find out the changing aspects of contemporary Korean libraries so called public in terms of their spatial configuration. In so doing, it analysed 14 recently built libraries by investigation of user's behavior. Interview and observation were conducted as a method of investigation. The method of analysis was based on statistics by mapping spatial data. As the result, it could be said that most users have a clear goal in Korea. In some libraries, the distinct characteristics of behavior show that users visit other functional rooms including functional rooms for the purpose. It could be said that the configuration of space in recently public libraries become more public as a place. In view of domestic affairs, in terms of users need, the reading room for personal study have features of the most private room and a static activity. so that the reading room separate from the other functional rooms in floor, but it adjoin other functional rooms in the horizontal configuration. so its location make offset a role of functional rooms can be interactive with each other, except reading room.
