  • We have studied an emission spectra of top-emssion organic light-emitting diodes(TEOLED) due to a change of cathode and organic layer thickness. Device structure is Al(100nm)/TPD(xnm)/$Alq_3$(ynm)/LiF(0.5nm)/cathode. And two different types of cathode were used; one is LiF(0.5nm)/Al(25nm) and the other is LiF(0.5nm)/Al(2nm)/Ag(30nm). While a thickness of hole-transport layer of TPD was varied from 35 to 65nm, an emissive layer thickness of $Alq_3$ was varied from 50 to 100nm for two devices. A ratio of those two layer was kept to be about 2:3. Al and Al/Ag double layer cathode devices show that the emission spectra were changed from 490nm to 560nm and from 490nm to 560nm, respectively, when the total organic layer increase. Full width at half maximum was changed from 67nm to 49nm and from 90nm to 35nm as the organic layer thickness increases. All devices show that view angle dependent emission spectra show a blue shift. Blue shift is strong when the organic layer thickness is more than 140nm. Devece with Al/Ag double layer cathode is more vivid.

  • Purpose: To present radiographic characteristics and report the clinical results of the operative treatment of M$\ddot{u}$ller-Weiss disease. Materials and Methods: This is a retrospective study including 13 patients, 14 feet who had been operated for M$\ddot{u}$ller-Weiss disease between April 2006 and December 2011. Osteoarthritis of the peri-navicular joints were radiographically evaluated. Various range of peri-navicular fusion and joint-preserving surgeries according to patients' symptoms and radiographic findings were done. The clinical results were evaluated by American Orthopaedics Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) midfoot scale and visual analogue scale (VAS). Results: On radiographs, osteoarthritic changes were presented at talonavicular joint in 11 cases, calcaneocuboid joint in 7 cases, subtalar joint in 6 cases, naviculo-cuneiform joint in 1 case. The mean anteroposterior talocalcaneal angle was 16.6 degrees. On hindfoot alignment view, 6 cases were varus, 5 cases were neutral and 3 cases were valgus alignment. Fusion comprised 6 cases in triple fusion, 1 case in talonavicular-cuneiform fusion, 2 cases in talonavicualr fusion and 1 case in talonavicular & calcaneocuboid fusion. Joint-preserving surgeries were bony fragment excision of the lateral part of navicular & medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy in 1 case, bony spur excision of talonavicular joint in 1 case and medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy in 2 cases. The postoperative AOFAS and VAS score were improved significantly (p=0.000, p=0.000). Conclusion: In cases of M$\ddot{u}$ller-Weiss disease without osteoarthritic changes at peri-navicular joints, fragment excision of navicular, bony spur excision with or without medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy were effective operative treatments.

  • Odontogenic keratocysts are developmental odontogenic cysts which derived from rests of dental laminas and often found in posterior area of mandible. Because this lesion has tendency of frequent recurrence, treatment of choice is often radical removal of the lesion. Sometimes in case of large cysts, however, conservative therapy like marsupialization is often selected in treatment plan. A 39-years old woman referred to our department for evaluation of large radiolucent lesion that occupies the areas from mandible angle to upper part of ramus and condyle. In cytology, the lesion was identified as odontogenic keratocyst. Marsupialization was our treatment of choice, and the result was so favorable. 2 years later, there was small radiolucent lesion on upper part of mandibular ramus on panoramic view. It was suspected as recurred lesion, and excisional biopsy was done. On biopsy result, it was not a cystic lesion but fibrosis.

  • Stereotactic radiotherapy is required to irradiate a small tumor accurately. The radiotherapy showing improves when making an accidental error little boundlessly. It is performed according to treatment planning that is established by the outside landmark of head. At present, when stereotactic radiotherapy for a head is done, the Leksell Flame is fixed on the head, and positioning based on the point and so on which it is in that fixed implement is performed. However, there are problems on the method done at present in the point such as reappearance when the fractionated irradiation method in which the Leksell Flame is removed and installed at every treatment is done because there are landmarks outside the head. Landmarks in the skull were decided, and that precision was examined for the purpose of the improvement of the radiation therapeutic gain. Linac-graphy with longitudinal and lateral view were taken with 6 MV photon beams. A distance to base point inside the skull, each film measured the angle from a center of the small irradiation field, and comparison was done. From the results, a large accidental error wasn't seen as a result of the measurement by every film. Stereotactic radiotherapy for a head treatment had an accidental error of about several millimeters when treatment positioning was done. Therefore, it was thought that there was no problem about an accidental error to arise by putting a landmark in the skull. And, because an accidental error was easy to discover, we thought that modification could be done easily. It was suggested that a landmark in the skull on thus study were useful for improvement of stereotactic radiotherapy.

  • The frequency dependency of the Rayleigh surface wave was investigated indirectly by measuring the angular dependency of the backward radiation of the incident ultrasonic wave in the abrasion specimens, which was explained in view of the residual stress distribution. The peak intensity of the backward radiation profile decreased and the right half width of the profile increased with an increase of the variational rate of residual stress for the scuffing specimen. The peak intensity was also affected by the surface wave scattering during the propagation around the micro-damages. The peak angle might depend on not only the amount of residual stress but also the micro-structure. The result observed in this study demonstrates the high potential of the backward radiated ultrasound as a tool for the nondestructive evaluation of the subsurface gradients of materials.

  • Pedestrian detection has largely been researched as one of the important technologies for autonomous driving vehicle and preventing accidents. There are two categories for pedestrian detection, camera-based and LIDAR-based. LIDAR-based methods have the advantage of the wide angle of view and insensitivity of illuminance change while camera-based methods have not. However, there are several problems with 3D LIDAR, such as insufficient resolution to detect distant pedestrians and decrease in detection rate in a complex situation due to segmentation error and occlusion. In this paper, two methods using GM-PHD filter are proposed to improve the poor rates of pedestrian detection algorithms based on 3D LIDAR. First one improves detection performance and resolution of object by automatic accumulation of points in previous frames onto current objects. Second one additionally enhances the detection results by applying the GM-PHD filter which is modified in order to handle the poor situation to classified multi target. A quantitative evaluation with autonomously acquired road environment data shows the proposed methods highly increase the performance of existing pedestrian detection algorithms.

  • This study proposed a more stable robust recognition algorithm which detects faces reliably even in cases where there are changes in lighting and angle of view, as well it satisfies efficiency in calculation and detection performance. The algorithm proposed detects the face area alone after normalization through pre-processing and obtains a feature vector using (PCA). Also, by applying the feature vector obtained for SVM, face areas can be tested. After the testing, the feature vector is applied to LDA and using Euclidean distance in the 2nd dimension, the final analysis and matching is performed. The algorithm proposed in this study could increase the stability and accuracy of recognition rates and as a large amount of calculation was not necessary due to the use of two dimensions, real-time recognition was possible.

  • This study have goal with conceptual design for Offshore Structures of high pressure control valve for localization. Ball valve for development accomplished with flow analysis based on provision of ANSI B16.34, ANSI B16.10, ANSI B16.25 In order to localize the Offshore Structures high pressure control valve. Numerical simulation using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) in order to predict a mass flow rate and a flow coefficient form flow dynamic point of view. The working fluid assumed the glycerin (C3H8O3). The valve inlet and outlet setup a pressure boundary condition. The outlet pressure was fixed by atmospheric pressure and calculated until increasing 1bar to 10bar. CFD analysis used STAR-CCM+ which is commercial code and Governing equations were calculated by moving mesh which is rotated 90 degrees when ball valve operated opening and closing in 1 degree interval. The result shows change of mass flow rate according to opening and closing angle of valve, Flow decrease observed open valve that equal percentage flow paten which is general inclination of ball valve. Relation with flow and flow coefficient can not be proportional according to inlet pressure when compare with mass flow rate. Because flow coefficient have influence in flow and pressure difference. Namely, flow can be change even if it has same Cv value. The structural analysis used ANSYS which is a commercial code. Stress analysis result of internal pressure in valve showed lower than yield strength. This is expect to need more detail design and verification for stem and seat structure.

  • If we look into genre movie, we can see that almost similar forms are repeated in a movie. Such similar elements are largely divided into three units from a mass of story to a very small camera angle. Those can be explained as Formula, Convention, and Iconography. Among those three, convention means custom and it is a structure or an incident in which one story can be divided into second one. Convention is an incident visualized in individual genre, and a movie director tunes audiences through the incident. The director leads a familiar story but all of a sudden, he transforms the familiar scene to a new story. As a product established from the beginning of movie history, movie convention helps communication between audiences and a director. Audiences familiarize themselves with movie convention through repeated activities of watching movies, and the director utilizes it to provide audiences with familiarity. Director Bong Joon-ho not only tunes audiences through traditional convention but also creates a new art work through transformation of convention. A study is conducted on how he used traditional convention and transformation to get a new idea and to engage in his work through his work .

  • Sun sensors are frequently implemented by satellites for attitude sensing, due to its simple manufacturability and light weight. A modeling of sun sensors has an important effect on the accuracy of satellite attitude determination. This paper addresses a new modeling of a 2-axis miniature fine sun sensor with improved accuracy. Unlike other previous algebraic modeling methods, the newly suggested physical modeling method takes into account the shadowing effect of the slit thickness. It was shown that a newly proposed sun sensor modeling provides a substantial accuracy improvement of 29% compared to the generic algebraic modeling. The proposed sensor modeling was validated using 2-axis fine sun sensors with FOV(Field of View) of ${\pm}60^{\circ}$ mounted on HAUSAT-2 small satellite, currently under development by SSRL(Space System Research Lab.) at Hankuk Aviation University, Korea.
