Auto-Covariance Analysis for Depth Map Coding

  • Efficient depth map coding is very crucial to the multi-view plus depth (MVD) format of 3-D video representation, as the quality of the synthesized virtual views highly depends on the accuracy of the depth map. Depth map contains smooth area within an object but distinct boundary, and these boundary areas affect the visual quality of synthesized views significantly. In this paper, we characterize the depth map by an auto-covariance analysis to show the locally anisotropic features of depth map. According to the characterization analysis, we propose an efficient depth map coding scheme, in which the directional discrete cosine transforms (DDCT) is adopted to substitute the conventional 2-D DCT to preserve the boundary information and thereby increase the quality of synthesized view. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme achieves better performance than that of conventional DCT with respect to the bitrate savings and rendering quality.

수학관의 요인에 관한 연구 (A study on the factor in a view of mathematical learning)

  • 본 논문에서는 초등학생을 대상으로 수학관의 요인을 규명하고, 이들 하위 요인에 대해 학년 및 성별 차이를 알아보았다. 수학관의 하위요인들로는 자신감, 유용성, 수학의 거부감, 활용능력, 전통적 수학 학습관이라는 5개의 하위 요인으로 설명되어진다. 그리고 3학년, 6학년 각각을 대상으로 수학관에 대한 요인분석을 실시하여 학년 간 요인의 특성을 알아보았다. 분석 결과 요인들은 조사대상자가 처한 상황과 특성에 따라 다를 수 있음을 알 수 있었다. 3학년이 6학년보다 자신감과 활용능력 측면에서 보다 긍정적임을 알 수 있었으며, 이는 곧 현장의 수학교육은 수학함이 실행되고, 수학 학습 방법을 강화하여 지도하는 것이 필요함을 시사하는 것임을 알 수 있다.

자료처리/저장장치 방열판의 View Factor 분석 (Analysis on the View Factor of Data Storage and Handling Units's Radiators)

  • 지구관측위성에 탑재되는 자료처리/저장장치 방열판은 장비의 주기적인 고발열, 배치, 장착성 등 설계 특성으로 인해 쉴드가 장착된 홈 형태를 갖는다. 홈 형태 방열판의 영향성과 쉴드 방열판의 열성능을 확인하기 위해, 평판 방열판을 기준으로 홈 형태의 방열판과 쉴드 방열판을 비교하여 열진공 시험을 실시하였다. 시험결과를 바탕으로 view factor에 의한 열교환과 방열판의 온도를 이론해석적으로 분석하여 열 설계 성능비교의 타당성을 입증하였다.

Philosophical Views on Science of Major Science Curriculum Documents in USA

  • The purpose of this study was to examine philosophical views on science of two influential curriculum documents, AAAS' s Benchmarks for Scientific Literacy (Benchmark) and NRC's National Science Education Standards (Standard), and to get educational implications about a desired philosophical view on science at a school science level. In order to determine the philosophical views on science explicitly suggested in the documents, Soh's Philosophical Perspectives Probe (PPP) was used as a framework for analysis. Forty preservice teachers reviewed the documents, extracting paragraphs with which statements of the PPP' s questions would agree. The results of the study were as follows: First, the Benchmark's philosophical view on science corresponds to the borderline between inductivism and eclecticism, or eclecticism close to falsificationism. The philosophical positions by the PPP' s themes are very different. Second, the Standard's philosophical position on science corresponds to inductivism close to eclecticism. Its philosophical position by the themes of the PPP is very different like the Benchmark. These results indicate that philosophical positions of the documents are more complex than popular conceptions would have it. That is to say, the results suggest that the science curriculum documents hold not only a contemporary philosophical view on science but also a traditional view on science, and that the philosophical positions on science are different from each other by documents and even by the PPP's themes in the same document. The results suggest that the philosophical views on science in school science contexts need to be adjusted and presented to K-12 students according to topics related to philosophy of science.

LabVIEW를 이용한 자동 부화시스템의 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Automatic Incubator using LabVIEW)

  • 최근에는 컴퓨터를 이용한 자동 제어나 계측기의 활용이 급격히 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 데이터의 수집 및 제어가 쉽고 데이터 분석 및 적용이 용이한 LabVIEW 그래픽 프로그램을 사용하여 계측장비 제어 및 모니터링, 측정 데이터의 분석, 자동제어가 가능한 자동 부화 시스템을 설계하고 시스템의 검증을 위해 Incubator를 제작하였다. 센서를 통해 Incubator 내부 환경을 측정하고 부화를 위해 선택한 개체의 부화환경을 데이터베이스 파일에서 불러와 최적의 환경 조성을 위해 각 장치들을 초기화 및 제어한다. 이를 통해 미세한 부화 환경의 변화가 부화율과 품질에 주었던 단점을 극복할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 효율적인 시스템 관리로 인한 인력과 비용의 절감도 기대된다.

지하수 해석 모델을 이용한 지하수 관리시스템의 개발 (A Development of Underground Water Management System Using an Analytic Model)

  • 지하수 분석에서 투수도, 저류 계수, 경계조건 등의 입력 자료를 잘못 추정할 경우 수학적 해석해를 사용하는 수계산 방법보다 부정확한 결과를 얻을 수 있기 때문에 정확한 시스템 모델을 적용하기 위해서는 현장의 파라미터에 대한 정확하고 방대한 조사 작업이 필요하다. 최근 이러한 파라미터를 쉽게 다루고자하는 연구가 활발히 진행되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 모델운영에 있어서 이러한 문제점을 방지하기 위하여 대표적으로 많이 사용되고 있는 MODFLOW 모델에 대한 조사를 수행하고, ArcView와 연계방법을 개발하여 입력자료 및 파라미터 등을 정확하고 쉽게 입력할 수 있는 방법을 제안한다. ArcView의 기능과 연계하여 구축된 시스템의 수행결과를 시각적으로 서비스 할 수 있도록 하였다.

Virtual portraits from rotating selfies

  • Selfies are a popular form of photography. However, due to physical constraints, the compositions of selfies are limited. We present algorithms for creating virtual portraits with interesting compositions from a set of selfies. The selfies are taken at the same location while the user spins around. The scene is analyzed using multiple selfies to determine the locations of the camera, subject, and background. Then, a view from a virtual camera is synthesized. We present two use cases. After rearranging the distances between the camera, subject, and background, we render a virtual view from a camera with a longer focal length. Following that, changes in perspective and lens characteristics caused by new compositions and focal lengths are simulated. Second, a virtual panoramic view with a larger field of view is rendered, with the user's image placed in a preferred location. In our experiments, virtual portraits with a wide range of focal lengths were obtained using a device equipped with a lens that has only one focal length. The rendered portraits included compositions that would be photographed with actual lenses. Our proposed algorithms can provide new use cases in which selfie compositions are not limited by a camera's focal length or distance from the camera.

여대생의 自我實現性에 따른 결혼관에 관한 연구-서울시를 중심으로- (A Study of college Women's view on Marriage According to Self-Actualization Degree -centering around seoul city-)

  • The purpose of this study is to apprehend college women's views on marriage in order to systematize the view theoretically, and to investigate the relationship between the self-actualization and their marriage perspective. Futhermore, it is my hope to provide some basic materials for making an desirable view on marriage. The measuring tools used for preparing this study are self-actualization test, which were designed originally by Shostrom and standardized to be suitable for Korean society by Kim Jae Ean and Lee Kwang Ja and a questionnaire about one's view on marriage. Statistical methods such as frequency, percentile, arithmetic mean, analysis of variances(X2 and F values)were used for data analysis. The results of this study are as follows; 1) It is revealed that more than half(59.7%) of the college women achieve normal or above normal degree of self-actualization. 2)It is revealed that most college women's attitude toward matrimony is positive and they have a large acquaintance with the opposite sex. Especially, they are eager to became employed after entering into matrimony. 3) It is revealed that the more satisfaction a college woman's mother feels about her own matrimony, the more positive attitude her daughter has toward marriage. some college women who do not want to have a child have a positive attitude toward divorce. This means that their matrimony depends upon their view of marriage. 4) It is revealed that the more self-actualization college women feel, the more negative attitude they have toward selecting their husband. 5)It is revealed that the less self-actualization college women feel, the more negative attitude they have toward having a large acquaintance with the opposite sex and they have a dependent attitude toward living with their parents 6) It is revealed that most college women want their husband to have higher academic career than hers regardless of her own self-actualization degree and they want have a job after entering into matrimony. It seems to be dispassionate reflection of contemporary thought.

An Analysis of 'The Phase Changes of the Moon', the Contents in Science Textbook of the 9th Grade

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze illustrations, contents, and experiment in 6 kinds of science textbook from the 9th grade covering the phase change of the Moon (on the phase change of the Moon in six 9th grade science textbook) and to suggest coherent and effective contents and frame of the science textbook. Hence, the researcher decided the study problem. The study problems are as follows; 'Are the illustrations in the science textbook presented to help understand the phase change of the Moon depending on the position of the observer?', 'Does the contents of the book clearly mention the phase change of the Moon?', 'Can students understand the phase change of the Moon through the experiments in the science textbook?', 'Do illustrations, contents, and experiment of the science textbook consistently explain phase change of the Moon?'. 10 persons (9graduate students including the researcher) took part in this study. All things unanimously agreed upon by all participants were reflected in the results. The results are as follows. First, the universe observer's view point is mixed with the earth observer's view in illustration of these science textbook regarding the phase change of the Moon. Moreover, illustrations of some textbooks are presented with such words as 'sunrise', 'midnight' and consequently contain too much contents. Second, the contents of the science textbook concerning the phase change of the Moon is not described clearly. In addition, they don't give clear and detailed explanations for the reason of the phase change of the Moon. Third, all of the textbooks, except one textbook, describe the experiment regarding the phase change of the Moon with the earth observer's view point but don't specifically mention that the view point is that of the earth observer's view point. Fourth, illustrations, contents, and experiments in the science textbook don't coherently explain the phase change of the Moon. In addition, it is confirmed through the process of the result analysis that the described contents in the science curriculum is not well constructed or logical.

스타트업 해외시장 진출성과 경로에서 제도기반관점의 융합적 접근 (The convergence approach of institution based view toward the path of performance of the start-up in the foreign market)

  • 본 연구는 해외시장 진출 스타트업의 지식학습 특성에 영향을 주는 요인을 분석하였다. 제도기반 관점과 지식기반관점의 융합적 분석을 목적으로 했다. 기존문헌 고찰을 통해 제도기반 관점 특성의 조절효과를 포함한 6개의 가설을 설정했다. 이후 설문조사를 진행하여 101개 기업을 분석 표본으로 선정했다. 구조방정식 모형인 PLS(Partial Least Square)를 사용하여 가설검정을 진행했다. 분석 결과 외부지식 특성은 모두 지식부호화역량에 긍정적 영향을 지식부호화역량 역시 스타트업 성과에 긍정적 영향을 주었다. 제도기반 특성은 외부지식 혁신성과 지식부호와 역량에 조절효과를 나타냈다. 본 연구는 제도기반 특성의 조절효과를 지식기반관점 요인과 융합적으로 통합하여 분석한데 기여도가 있다. 향후 연구에서는 제도기반 특성을 공식적, 비공식으로 나누어 분석할 필요가 있다.
