A Study on Effect of Vibration Reduction with Ballast Mat of Ballasted Track in Tunnel (터널내 자갈도상제도의 자갈도상매트 시공 후 진동 저감 효과에 대한 연구)

  • Due to the travelling of the train with high speed the period of maintenance activities of the ballasted track is coming to be short, and more from the residential area of the ballasted track tunnel circumference the civil appeal is increasing with railroad vibration problem. To reduce the vibration problem and a maintenance cost establishes the ballast mat in the tunnel within part segment. In this study, to estimate the vibration reduction effect of the ballast mat we have done a comparative analysis with the vibration field test by the transit train by at the ballasted track with ballast mat and the standard ballasted track without vibration protection in tunnel.

  • Vibration and noise of gears is doc to the transmission error and the vibration exciting force caused by the periodically alternating tooth stiffness. Transmission error is the rotation delay between driving and driven gear caused by manufacturing error, alignment error in assembly and so on. Tooth stiffness changes with the proceeding mesh of teeth. The purpose of this study is to develop how to calculate simultaneously the optimum amounts of tooth profile modification. end relief and crowning by minimizing the vibration exciting force of helical gears. We estimate the vibration exciting force by the meshing analysis of gears. Formulated constraints of this problem consist of contact ratio and strengths of gear teeth such as tooth bending strength, surface durability, and scoring. ADS(Automated Design Synthesis) is used as an optimization tool. We also investigate the relation between the aspect ratio and the optimum values of tooth modification. The proposed method can calculate the optimum amount of tooth modification automatically and is expected to be practically useful to resolve the problem of vibration of helical gears.

  • The vibration and noise of gears is due to the vibration exciting force caused by the tooth stiffness which changes periodically as the mesh of teeth proceeds and by the transmission error, that is, the rotation delay between driving gear and driven gear caused by manufacturing error and alignment error in assembly and so on. The purpose of this study is to develop how to calculate simultaneously the optimum amounts of tooth profile modification, end relief and crowning by minimizing the vibration exciting force of helical gears.   • The differential planetary gear reducer as a main component of the concrete mixer driving mechanism requires a strong torque to mix concrete compounds. As this component is currently dependent on imports, it is necessary to develop it by conducting a study on vibration analysis and the resonance problem. The noise and vibration of a concrete mixer reducer increase owing to the transmission error of planetary gears, and the damage of components occurs owing to the problems in design and production. In this study, the tooth-passing frequency is calculated to evaluate the noise and vibration of a mixer reducer, and a fast Fourier transform (FFT) analysis is conducted through a vibration test using an acceleration sensor. The vibration of the reducer is measured at three points of input and output of the shaft and planetary gear housing with fixed and variable revolutions per minute. The operating conditions of gears and bearings are evaluated by performing the FFT analysis, and the resonance problem is verified. The results show that No. 1 pinion and ring gears revolve disproportionately. The amplitude values appear high, and the wear of tooth faces occur in tooth-passing frequencies and harmonic components of No. 1 and No. 2 pinion-ring gears. Therefore, we conclude that design changes in the reducer and a correction of tooth profiles are required.

  • In our previous paper, we developed a robust saturation controller for the linear time-invariant (LTI) system involving both actuator's saturation and structured real parameter uncertainties. This controller can only guarantee the closed-loop robust stability of the system in the presence of actuator's saturation. But we cannot analytically make any comment on control performance of this controller. In this paper, we suggest a method to use linear matrix inequality (LMI) optimization problem which can analytically explain control performance of this robust saturation controller only in nominal system. The availability of design method using LMI optimization problem for this robust saturation controller is verified through a numerical example for the building with an active mass damper (AMD) system.

  • When the structure supporting the rotor as well as the rotor itself is in the resonant range, it cause the vibration problem. Although the static characteristics of structures was considered during the design process, we must consider the resonance problem between the excitation(the main revolution frequency of the rotor) between the dynamic characteristics of its structures. This paper presents we improved the dynamic characteristic of a bearing support system to remove a resonance problem so that stabilized the turbine-generator system.

Stochastic vibration suppression analysis of an optimal bounded controlled sandwich beam with MR visco-elastomer core

  • To control the stochastic vibration of a vibration-sensitive instrument supported on a beam, the beam is designed as a sandwich structure with magneto-rheological visco-elastomer (MRVE) core. The MRVE has dynamic properties such as stiffness and damping adjustable by applied magnetic fields. To achieve better vibration control effectiveness, the optimal bounded parametric control for the MRVE sandwich beam with supported mass under stochastic and deterministic support motion excitations is proposed, and the stochastic and shock vibration suppression capability of the optimally controlled beam with multi-mode coupling is studied. The dynamic behavior of MRVE core is described by the visco-elastic Kelvin-Voigt model with a controllable parameter dependent on applied magnetic fields, and the parameter is considered as an active bounded control. The partial differential equations for horizontal and vertical coupling motions of the sandwich beam are obtained and converted into the multi-mode coupling vibration equations with the bounded nonlinear parametric control according to the Galerkin method. The vibration equations and corresponding performance index construct the optimal bounded parametric control problem. Then the dynamical programming equation for the control problem is derived based on the dynamical programming principle. The optimal bounded parametric control law is obtained by solving the programming equation with the bounded control constraint. The controlled vibration responses of the MRVE sandwich beam under stochastic and shock excitations are obtained by substituting the optimal bounded control into the vibration equations and solving them. The further remarkable vibration suppression capability of the optimal bounded control compared with the passive control and the influence of the control parameters on the stochastic vibration suppression effectiveness are illustrated with numerical results. The proposed optimal bounded parametric control strategy is applicable to smart visco-elastic composite structures under deterministic and stochastic excitations for improving vibration control effectiveness.

  • The recent national contract (Ecotechnopia 21) supported by the ministry of environment puts much significance on new issues for the assessment of human effects arising from vibration and noise exposed to human. This paper focuses only on hand-arm vibration since it has been a major problem in protecting vibration exposure to human. To set up a systematic way of assessing adverse effects of hand-arm vibration, surveys were made on recent international standards and researches related to hand-arm vibration. The measurement and evaluation methods of hand-arm transmitted vibration, the relationship between vibration exposure and effects on health, and the assessment methods of nerve dysfunctions are addressed in this paper. Those methods are linked into a logical way of assessing effects of hand-arm vibration on human. Finally, the current activities and achievements in this work are briefly summarised.

  • The reducers are widely used to reduce output speed and to amplify driving torque of actuator for industrial robots and many industrial units. But the vibration of robot, which is affected by the reducer, becomes a problem for robot which has to move a driven part with high accuracy.
