양극파형의 펄스폭 변화에 따른 피에조 구동형 잉크젯 노즐의 액적 토출 특성 (Droplet Formation of a Piezoelectric Inkjet Nozzle According to the Variation of Pulse Widths in Bipolar Waveform)

  • In this study, a piezoelectric inkjet nozzle with a rectangular shaped channel has been developed, and the characteristics of droplet formation have been investigated according to the variation of pulse widths in bipolar waveform. The channel of the nozzle was fabricated transparently by a precision machining technique. A tantalum membrane which was attached to a piezoelectric material covers the channel. By applying two types of bipolar waveforms to the piezoelectric actuators, droplet formation through the nozzle was monitored by a CCD camera. For the variety of the first and second pulse widths in the bipolar waveforms, the regimes of single and double droplet formations are presented. The change of droplet velocity which depends on the pulse width and the type of waveform is also discussed.

  • This paper describes the variation of lubricant's temperature effects on elastohydrodynamic lubrication. The Newton-Raphson technique was used to solve the simultaneous system of Reynolds and elasticity equations. To show effects of lubricant's temperature, average temperature across the oil film was calculated using the energy equation. Pressure distribution, film shape, and temperature distribution were obtained for fully flooded conjunctions, and various dimensionless speed parameters while load and material parameters were held constant. Minimum film thickness were obtained for various material properties while load and velocity were held constant. It is drawn that the thermal effects have a strong influence on a minimum film thickness under high rolling velocity and slip ratio.

  • The characteristics of train-wind in the underground shopping center(UGSC) connected to subway station is investigated by field measurement for the case of train movement such as arrival and departure, etc. Also air curtain installed at the pass way between underground shopping center and subway station were considered as the parameter in order to analysis the effect on indoor air quality and thermal condition. The measurement data such as velocity, relative humidity, wind-pressure were plotted as quantity variation with time scale. The train-wind affected wind velocity, air pressure and relative humidity at the connecting area of underground shopping center and subway station, and the variation was about 4.5 m/s, 8%, 40 Pa. Also the result showed that the air curtain is not proper to reduce influence of train-wind

Gait Type Classification Using Pressure Sensor of Smart Insole

  • In this paper, we propose a gait type classification method based on pressure sensor which reflects various terrain and velocity variations. In order to obtain stable gait classification performance, we divide the whole gait data into several steps by detecting the swing phase, and normalize each step. Then, we extract robust features for both topographic variation and speed variation by using the Null-LDA(Null-Space Linear Discriminant Analysis) method. The experimental results show that the proposed method gives a good performance of gait type classification even though there is a change in the gait velocity and the terrain.

  • During summer season, the weather condition of Korea is hot and humid. So humidity elements are very important relating to building envelope condition. The purpose of this investigation is to measure and analyze characteristics of summer's environmental elements such as relative humidity, dry bulb temperature and air velocity in the clay/cement envelope materials using a granite dome model. According to the variation of exterior humidity, the state of interior relative humidity for clay model has an equal tendency, although a little range of variation is shown in comparison to the cement model.

부산 연안에서의 3차원 해륙풍 수치 모의 (A Three Dimensional Numerical Simulation of the Land and Sea breeze over Pusan Coastal Area, Korea.)

  • The land and sea breeze over the Pusan coastal area is studied by three dimensional mesoscale numerical model. According to the results of the simulation experiments, both Pusan areas and Kimhae areas, the sea breeze began at 0800LST and the strongest at 1500LST and then at 1800LST. After midnight, the sea breeze changed about the land breeze and become weaker than that of the sea breeze in the daytime. Comparisons between calculations and observations showed that the characteristics of diurnal variation and v-component of the wind velocity relatively is similar to the Pusan areas. On the Kimhae areas, however, observations showed time lag which compared to the results of simulation experiments in the velocity of sea breeze and diurnal variation. From the above results, comparisons between calculations and observations is much more similar to the coastal areas than on the inland area.

지반의 투수성에 따른 제체 침투류의 변화 (Variation of Seepage Line through Embankments by Permeability of Layer)

  • The movement of water through a river embankment and its influenced upon the stability of the slope of the embankment are described. The stability of the embankment is depended upon the location of seepage line. As the seepage flow occurs in the embankment, the slope of the embankment loses its stability. Of particular interest is the stability following a rapid change of water level. The variation of seepage line in the embankment model by a fluctuation of water level is discussed. The experimental models were construction with slopes of 1 : 1.5, 1 : 2.0, 1 : 2.5 and the flow velocity was turned from 60cm/sec~90cm/sec. Based on the experimental study, the following conclusions are drawn. 1) When water level is raised, the seepage line of downstream slope Is raised rapidly as flow velocity increases. 2) For the case of permeable layer, the seepage line raised rapidly as compare with impermeable layer when water lever is raised.

  • Factors governing the rate of heat exchange comprise the air temperature, the speed of air movement, relative humidity, and relation indoors. Recently, there are many researches on the transient analysis of indoor environmental factors such as the dry bulb temperature, relative humidity and air velocity in miniature models. The purpose of this study is to measure the environmental factors and to analyze and evaluate the characteristics of indoor environment with the different envelope structures using a granite dome model. According to the variation of humidity, the state of interior relative humidity for clay model has an equal tendency, although a little range of variation is shown in comparison to the cement model.

플라스틱 온실(溫室)의 열저장(熱貯藏) 시스템 개발(開發)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究)(I) -수막식(水膜式) 열교환(熱交換) 시스템의 개발(開發)- (Development of Thermal Storage System in Plastic Greenhouse (I) -Development of Air-Water Heat Exchange System-)

  • For efficient use of solar energy in plastic greenhouse, thermal storage system was developed. The system was constructed with the counter-flow type air-water heat exchanger using a thin polyethylene film as a medium of heat exchange parts. Experiments were carried out to investigate the heat exchange rate, optimum water flow rate, overall heat transfer coefficient, and the effectiveness of the counter-flow type air-water heat exchanger with polyethylene film bags. Mathematical model to predict air temperature leaving heat exchanger was developed. The results obtained in the present study are summarized as follows. 1. Heat exchange rate in the counter-flow type air-water heat exchanger with polyethylene film bags was compared to that of polyethylene film. Heat exchange rate was almost identical at air velocity of 0.5m/s on polyethylene film surface. But, heat exchange rate of heat exchanger with polyethylene film bag was $32{\sim}55KJ/m^2$ hr higher than that of polyethylene film at air velocity of 1.0m/s. 2. Considering the formation of uniform water film and the sufficient heat exchange rate of polyethylene film bags, optimum water flow rate in polyethylene film bags was $3.0{\sim}6.0{\ell}/m^2$ min. 3. The overall heat transfer coefficient of polyethylene film bags was found to be $35.0{\sim}130.0KJ/m^2\;hr\;^{\circ}C$ corresponding to the air velocity ranging 0.5 to 4.0 m/s on polyethylene film surface. And the overall heat transfer coefficient showed almost linearly increasing tendency to the variation of air velocity. 4. Mathematical model to predict air temperature leaving the heat exchanger was developed, resulting in a good agreement between the experimental and predicted values. But, the experimental results were a little lower than predicted. 5. Effectiveness of heat exchanger for the experiment was found to be 0.40~0.81 corresponding to the number of transfer units due to the variation of air velocity ranging 0.6 to 1.7 m/s.

  • 열선유속계를 이용하여 디이젤 기관 연소실내의 한점에서 유속을 측정한 결과는 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 연소실내의 유동은 cylinder의 원주방향의 속도 성분이 크며, 유속변화는 밸브 timing과 피스톤 속도등에 밀접한 관계가 있다. 2. 유속은 흡입시부터 증가하여 압축행정중 흡입밸브가 닫히는 60$^{\circ}$ABDC에서 최대치를 갖고 이후 피스톤의 속도가 감소함에 따라 유속도 감소하여 팽창행정중 배기 밸브가 열리는 120$^{\circ}$ATDC에서 다시 증가하였다. 3. 평균유속은 shroud 밸브 사용시가 no shroud 밸브 사용시보다 낮지만 shroud 밸브 사용시 흡입행정에서 난류강도가 가장 크게 나타났다. 4. 90$^{\circ}$shroud 밸브 사용시가 120$^{\circ}$shroud 밸브 사용시보다 난류강도는 더 크고, 90$^{\circ}$shroud의 180$^{\circ}$위치에서 난류강도가 제일 크게 나타났다.(이 논문의 결론부분임)
