This paper suggests a velocity integration algorithm for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) motion measurement to reduce discontinuity of range error. When using position data from Embedded GPS/INS (EGI) to form SAR image, the discontinuity of the data degrades SAR image quality. In this paper, to reduce the discontinuity of EGI position data, EGI velocity integration is suggested which obtains navigation solution by integrating velocity data from EGI. Simulation shows that the method improves SAR image quality by reducing the discontinuity of range error. INS is a similar algorithm to EGI velocity integration in the way that it also obtains navigation solution by integrating velocity measured by IMU. Comparing INS and EGI velocity integration according to grades of IMU and GPS, EGI velocity integration is more suitable for the real system. Through this, EGI velocity integration is suggested, which improves SAR image quality more than existing algorithms.
This paper is concerned with the analysis of plastic deformation of bimetal co-extrusion process. Two sets of material combination have been adopted for analysis, i.e. combinations of Cu/Al and Fe/Al. In the first set of material combination, the selected materials are AA 1100 aluminum alloy as hard material and CDA 110 as soft one. This type of material selection is to examine the effect of hard core and soft sleeve and vice versa on the deformation pattern in terms of plastic zone and velocity discontinuity along the contact surface between construction materials. Four different cases of co-extrusion process in terms of material combination and interference bonding were simulated to investigate the effect of material arrangement between core and sleeve, and of bonding on the plastic zones and velocity discontinuity. In the other set of material combination, model materials used as core and sleeve were AA 1100 and AISI 1010, which are relatively soft and hard, respectively. Process parameters except diameter ratio of core to sleeve material such as semi-die angle, reduction in area in global sense and die comer radius have been set constant throughout the simulation to concentrate our effort on the analysis of influence of diameter ratio on deformation behavior such as deformation zone, surface expansion, exit velocity discontinuity between composite materials, and extrusion forces.

The GNSS coordinate time series is used as important data for geophysical analysis such as terrestrial reference frame establishment, crustal deformation, Earth orientation parameter estimation, etc. However, various factors may cause discontinuity in the coordinate time series, which may lead to errors in the interpretation. In this paper, we describe the discontinuity in the coordinate time series due to the equipment replacement for domestic GNSS stations and discuss the change in movement magnitude and velocity vector difference in each direction before and after discontinuity correction. To do this, we used three years (2017-2019) of data from 40 GNSS stations. The average magnitude of the velocity vector in the north-south, east-west, and vertical directions before correction is -12.9±1.5, 28.0±1.9, and 4.2±7.6 mm/yr, respectively. After correction, the average moving speed in each direction was -13.0±1.0, 28.2±0.8, and 0.7±2.1 mm/yr, respectively. The average magnitudes of the horizontal GNSS velocity vectors before and after discontinuous correction was similar, but the deviation in movement size of stations decreased after correction. After equipment replacement, the change in the vertical movement occurred more than the horizontal movement variation. Moreover, the change in the magnitude of movement in each direction may also cause a change in the velocity vector, which may lead to errors in geophysical analysis.
The velocity structure beneath the CHNB broadband station is determined by receiver function analysis using by from teleseismic P waveforms. The detailed broadband receiver functions are obtained by stacking method for source-equalized vertical, radial and tangential components of teleseismic P waveforms. A time domain inversion uses the stacked radial receiver function to determine vertical P wave velocity structure beneath the station. The crustal velocity structures beneath the stations are estimated using the receiver function inversion method in the case at the crustal model parameterized by many thin, flat-tying, homogeneous layers. The result of crust at model inversion shows the crustal velocity structure beneath the CHNB station varies smoothly with increasing depth, and there are six discontinuity around 2.5km, 6.25km, 12.5km, 22.5km and 27.5km depth, with Moho discontinuity at about 32.5km depth.

Events divide into 4 groups. four azimuths corresponding to events in group a(southwest), b(south), c(southeast), d(northeast). The conard discontinuity lies around 18 km and moho discontinuity lies range from 30 to 34 km.
Roll drafting, a mechanical operation attenuating fiber bundles to an appropriate thickness, is an important operation unit for manufacturing staple yams. It influences not only the linear density regularity of the slivers or staple yams that are produced, but also the quality of the textile product and the efficiency of the thereafter processes. In this research, the dynamic states of the fiber bundle in the roll drafting zone were analyzed by simulation, based on the mathematical model that describes the dynamic behavior of the flowing bundle. The state variables are the linear density and velocity of the fiber bundles and we simulated the dynamics states of the bundle flow, e.g., the profiles of the linear density and velocity in the draft zone for various values of the model parameters and boundary conditions, including the initial conditions to obtain their influence on the dynamic state. Results showed that the mean velocity profile of the fiber bundle was strongly influenced by draft ratio and process speed, while the input sliver linear density has hardly affected the process dynamics. Velocity variance of individual fibers that could be supposed to be a disturbing factor in drafting was also influenced by the process speed. But the major disturbance occurred due to the velocity slope discontinuity at the front roll, which was strongly influenced by the process speed. Thickness of input sliver didn't play any important role in the process dynamics.
In order to investigate the velocity structure of the southern part of the Korean peninsula, exploded seismic signals were recorded for 120 s along a 294-km WNW-ESE line and 150 s along a 335-km NNW-SSE line in 2002 and 2004, respectively. Velocity tomograms were derived from inverting P-wave and S-wave first arrival times. The raypaths indicate several midcrust interfaces. The shallowest one is at the approximate depth of $2{\sim}3\;km$ with refraction velocities of approximately Vp=6.0 and Vs=3.5 km/s, respectively. The second one of $15{\sim}17\;km$ depth has refraction velocities of approximately Vp=7.1 and Vs=3.7 km/s, respectively. The deepest significant interface varies in depth from 30.8 km to 36.1 km. The critically refracting Vp of $7.8{\sim}8.1\;km/s$ and Vs of $4.2{\sim}4.6\;km/s$ along this interface which may correspond to the Moho discontinuity. The velocity tomograms show (1) existence of a low-velocity zone centered at $6{\sim}7\;km$ depth under the Okchon fold belt and the Yeongnam massif, (2) extension of the Yeongdon fault down to greater than 10 km, and (3) existence of high-velocity materials under the Gyeongsan basin less than 4.2 km thick.
The purpose of this study is to find P-wave crustal velocity structure and the Moho characteristics beneath Seoul (SEO) and Inchon (INCN) stations using broadband teleseismic records. The use of broadband receiver function analysis is increasing to estimate the fine-scale velocity structure of the lithosphere. The broadband receiver functions are developed from teleseismic events of P waveforms recorded at Seoul (SEO) and Inchon (INCN) stations, and are analyzed to examine the crustal structure beneath the stations. The teleseismic receiver functions are inverted in the time domain of the vertical P wave velocity structures beneath the stations. The crustal velocity structures beneath the stations are estimated using the receiver function inversion method (Ammon et al., 1990). The general features of inversion results are as follows: (1) For the Seoul station, the Conrad and Moho discontinuities exist at 22 km and 30 km depth in the south ($BAZ=180^{\circ}$) direction. (2) For the Inchon station, the Conrad discontinuity exists at 22 km depth in the direction of SE ($BAZ=145^{\circ}$) and the Moho discontinuity exists at 30~34 km depth with a 4 km thick, which consists of a laminated velocity transition layers with thickness, whereas a crust-mantle boundary beneath the Seoul station consists of a more sharp boundary compared with the Moho shape of INCN station.
In this paper, two procedures of enumerating the axial rotation are proposed using the unit sphere of the spherical rotation coordinate system specifying 3D rotation. If the trajectory of the movement is known, the integration of the axial component of the angular velocity plus the geometric effect equal to the enclosed area subtended by the geodesic path on the surface of the unit sphere. If the postures of the initial and final positions are known, the axial rotation is determined by the angular difference from the parallel transport along the geodesic path. The path dependency of the axial rotation of the three dimensional rigid body motion is due to the geometric effect corresponding to the closed loop discontinuity. Firstly, the closed loop discontinuity is examined for the infinitesimal region. The general closed loop discontinuity can be evaluated by the summation of those discontinuities of the infinitesimal regions forming the whole loop. This general loop discontinuity is equal to the surface area enclosed by the closed loop on the surface of the unit sphere. Using this quantification of the closed loop discontinuity of the axial rotation, the geometric effect is determined in enumerating the axial rotation. As an example, the axial rotation of the arm by the Codman's movement is evaluated, which other methods of enumerating the axial rotations failed.
