  • The purpose of this study is to ascertain self-healing function on microcracks in bisphenol F-type epoxy-modified mortars using expansive admixtures. The specimens are prepared with various polymer-binder ratios of 0, 5, 10, 20%, expansive admixture contents of 0% and 10%, a sodium carbonate content of 0.25%, and subjected to exposure conditions of CR1, CR2, CR3 and CR4. The specimens are tested for self-healing effect, porosity and FE-SEM analysis. As a result, self-healing effects of bisphenol F-type EPMMs with expansive admixtures are visible in all of the outdoor exposure conditions. In particular, exposure conditions of CR3 and CR4 are most noticeable. And the porosity of EPMMs is reduced with an increase in the polymer-binder ratio, and is considerably smaller than that of unmodified mortar.

  • In this research, the optimum combination of fly ash (FA) and blast furnace slag (BS) was deduced by analyzing the performance of high volume supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) cement mortar depending on various combinations of cement, FA, and BS. As a result, increased workability was shown with increased the portion of FA, while air content, setting time, and compressive strength were decreased.

내한성 혼화제를 이용한 시멘트 모르타르의 초기양생 온도변화에 따른 강도증진 특성 (Properties of Strength Development Under Various Curing Condition at Early Age of Cement Mortar Using Agent for Enduring Cold Weather)

  • In this study, the admixtures for agents for enduring cold weather used widely are collected and applied to cement mortar to analyze the strength development due to variation of curing temperature at early age. The test results show that anti-freezing admixture have some problems due to high chloride content, which may cause the corrosion of reinforcement embedded in concrete. However, the mortar applied by accelerator and another kind of agent for enduring cold weather produced by S company lead to delay of strength development in low temperature. Also, it is clarified that there are no significant problems for cement mortar in strength development due to low temperature if a suitable kind of agent enduring cold weather is used and cement mortar is cured for more than $7.5^{\circ}D.D$ at early age.

  • A potential use of superplasticizing admixture is to produce structural concrete of High-strength concrete,. By using a superplasticizer, more workable mixes can be achieved while permitting a high cement content and a low water/cement ratio both of which are necessary to obtain high strength by conventional manufacturing technique. In this study, therefore, high strength concrete having a 28-day strength in excess of 650kg/$\textrm{cm}^2$ can be obtained using a superplasticzer. However, before such a high strength concrete is recommended for use, engineering properties have to be assessed. This study is aimed to analyze and investigate the engineering properties, such as strength, elasticity, ultrasonic pulse velocity, rebound value of superplasticized concrete having a various cement content.

  • Admixture compounds for shortening setting time and accelerating early strength development of EVA polymer powder-modified mortars were made by mixing various quick setting agents. As a result, the quick setting agents contribute to strength development of the mortars in the early curing age of 168h or less. In the viewpoint of early strength development of EVA polymer powder-modified mortars, an quick setting agent content of 20$\%$ is recommended. Early strength of EVA polymer powder-modified mortars expresses the excellent strength with 5$\%$, 10$\%$ of rates of polymer mixing. The rate of polymer mixing was able to be adjusted and flexural strength which is a predeterminded initial strength was also able to satisfy 3MPa(s).

  • This paper is to investigate the mixture proportion, compressive strength and drying. shrinkage of concrete depending on mineral admixtures such as fly ash (FA), blast furnace slag (BS) and cement kiln dust (CKD) under various contents of admixtures. The use of CKD had little effect on strength development at 3 days, while the use of FA and BS lead to similar compressive strength compared with that of control concrete. Concrete with CKD exhibited a reduction of compressive strength at 91 days, meanwhile concrete with FA and BS had a increase compared with that of control concrete. Drying shrinkage of concrete depending on CKD and BS increase compared with that of control concrete about $10\∼20\%$, while the use of FA exhibited reduce compared with that of control concrete about $10\∼15\%$.

  • 최근의 콘크리트 기술은 시멘트 제조기술의 발전 보다는 화학 혼화제의 기술발전에 의하여 성장하였다. 현재, 콘크리트 산업에 주로 사용되고 있는 4가지 화학 혼화제로서 변형된 리그닌(LS), 나프탈렌계(SNF), 멜라민계(SMF) 및 폴리카르복실레이트계(PC)계가 있다. 본 연구에서는 SMF계 고유동화제를 멜라민과 포르말린의 몰비를 변화 시키며 4단계로 나누어 반응을 진행시켰다. 합성된 SMF계 고유동화제를 시멘트 콘크리트에 적용하여 작업성, 슬럼프 손실 및 압축강도를 SNF와 비교하였다.

  • Recently, the use of ALC has became increasingly popular. ALC is a unique building material. Because of its cellular nature, it is lightweight, self-insulating, sound and fireproof, as well as insect and mold resistant. Furthermore, ALC is free of VOCs and various fibers associated with wood and glass wool construction. However, ALC have high water absorption, low compressive strength and popout the origin of the low surface strength in its properties. These properties make troubles under construction such as cracking and popout. Thus, this study is to improve the fundamental strength by controls of increasing of admixtures, and grain size. Admixtures make use of metakaolin, silica fume, sodium silicate and sodium hydroxide. From the test result, the ALC using admixture have a good fundamental properties compared with plain specimen. Compressive strength, specific strength and abrasion's ratio were improved depending on increasing admixtures ratio's, and grain size.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate pozzolanic reactivity of the rice straw ash. This study focused on rice straw ash properties at various burning temperature and duration as a mineral admixture for mortar and concrete, and provide the crystalline state and molecular structure of rice straw ash. X.R.D and N.M.R were performed on rice straw ashes to identify pozzolanic reactivity.

  • Recently, climate change have increased consumption of building heating and cooling energy. Therefore, various actions to reduce greenhouse gas and energy consumption have been prepared by world developed countries. The energy consumption by buildings approximately reaches 25% of total korea energy consumption. The greatest part in the buildings of the energy consumption is building facade. Especially the outer covering of the building has been made of concrete more than 70%. But a few research projects on concrete comprising more than 70% of outsider of buildings has been tried. This research is structural insulation concrete what improved insulation performance using Micro Form Admixture and Calcined Diatomite Powder and Lightweight Aggregate.
