Effects of a Newly Designed Pelvic Belt Orthosis on Functional Mobility of Adults with Post-Stroke Hemiparesis

  • Purpose : Lower extremity orthoses have been used as conservative methods to recover gait of the stroke patients. The purpose of this study is to examine how newly designed pelvic belt orthosis can improve gait ability and dynamic balance of adults with Hemiparesis after stroke. Methods : 22 patients who had hemiparesis after stroke participated in this study. Two groups were randomly created by assigning 10 subjects to the experimental group and the rest of the 12 subjects to the control group. The control group was treated by conventional physical therapy and occupational therapy. Identical therapy protocols were used to treat the experimental group who were assigned to wear the pelvic belt orthosis during post measurement. This study has a group of independent variables including group, gender, age, height, MAS, lesion side, cause and a group of dependent variables including gait speed, cadence, step length, stride length, and dynamic balance. The GAITRite system was used to measure spatial-temporal gain parameters and the balance system SD to measure dynamic balance. The data was analyzed using R version 3.3.1. Random forest, boosting algorithm, and MANOVA test were conducted to determine the effects of independent variables on dependent variables. Results : This study has a group of independent variables including group, gender, age, height, MAS, lesion side, cause and a group of dependent variables including gait speed, cadence, step length, stride length, and dynamic balance. The independent variable "group" has the most important value, which is approximately 25.42 (%IncMSE) representing a value three times greater than the second important predictor "height." Conclusion : As a result of this research, the hypothesis is validated with conclusion that Pelvic Belt orthosis could be effectively used for improving gait ability and balance of the patients with post-stroke hemiparesis.

무인잠수정의 경로점 유도 법칙 설계 및 HILS 검증 (Development of AUV's Waypoint Guidance Law and Verification by HILS)

  • 본 논문에서는 수중에서 운동하는 무인잠수정의 경로점 유도법칙을 제안한다. 시선각 유도법칙과 수선경로 오차를 줄여가는 경로추종 유도법칙을 조합하여 효과적인 경로점 유도법칙을 설계하였고, 수선경로 오차의 거리에 따라 제어이득을 변화시켜 시스템의 안정성을 증가시켰다. 또한, 관성항법장치와 도플러속도계를 이용한 복합항법 시스템의 성능을 확인할 수 있는 HILS를 구성하였다. 같은 경로점 및 목표점을 입력 후 HILS 수행결과와 실해역 주행시험 결과를 비교하여, 제안한 유도법칙 및 HILS가 올바르게 구성되어 있음을 확인하였다.

선박 무선통신을 위한 Wimax/LTE 5G 용 이중대역 마이크로스트립 안테나 설계 (Dual Band Microstrip Antenna for Design Wimax/LTE 5G for Ship Radio Communication)

  • 본 논문에서는 연안 선박에서 사용 가능한 무선매체 중 Wimax/LTE 5G 시스템에 적용 가능한 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나를 설계하였다. 제안된 안테나의 기판은 FR-4 (er=4.3)이고 크기는 22 mm × 30 mm이며 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나를 이용하여 단순한 구조로 구성함으로서 Wimax/LTE 5G의 대역인 2.4 GHz와 3.5 GHz의 대역에서 사용할 수 있는 특성을 갖도록 설계하였다 시뮬레이션은 CST Microwave Studio 2014을 사용하였으며 시뮬레이션 결과 이득은 2.4 GHz일 때 2.41 dB, 3.5일 때 3.96 dB이다. S-Parameter 또한 원하는 주파수 대역에서 -10 dB (VSWR 2:1) 이하의 결과를 볼 수 있었고, 적은 변수와 소형화된 안테나를 설계하여 안테나를 휴대폰이나 전자기기에서 사용할 수 있도록 하였다.

Factors associated with the weight change trend in the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic: the case of Turkey

  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: To determine the weight change trend among the adult Turkish population after 1 yr of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and factors associated with weight change. MATERIALS/METHODS: This cross-sectional study was conducted between 26 February and 6 March 2021 using an online questionnaire that included questions for sociodemographic variables, eating habits, stress level, and the Three-Factor Eating Questionnaire-R18. Those who weighed themselves 1-2 weeks before the pandemic was declared in Turkey and remembered their weight were invited to participate in the study. Trends in weight and body mass index (BMI) change were calculated. The variables associated with a 1% change in BMI were assessed using hierarchical regression analysis. RESULTS: The study was conducted with 1,630 adults (70.25% female) with a mean age of 32.09 (11.62) yrs. The trend of weight change was found to increase by an average of 1.15 ± 6.10 kg (female +0.72 ± 5.51, male +2.16 ± 7.22 kg) for the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. The rate of participants with a normal BMI (18.50-24.99 kg/m2) decreased to 51.91% from 55.75%. Consuming an "Increased amount of food compared to before the pandemic" was found to be the independent variable that had the strongest association with a 1% increase in BMI (β = 0.23 P < 0.001). The average change in the BMI was higher in older individuals than in those who were younger. A high stress level was associated with a decrease in BMI (β = -0.04 P = 0.048). CONCLUSIONS: In this study, the factors associated with weight change after 1 yr of the pandemic in the Turkish population was reported for the first time. A high stress level and increased weight gain trend still occur in Turkey after 1 yr of the pandemic.

A case of follow-up of a patient with 22q11.2 distal deletion syndrome and a review of the literature

  • Microdeletions of chromosome 22q11.2 are one of the most common microdeletions occurring in humans, and is known to be associated with a wide range of highly variable features. These deletions occur within a cluster of low copy repeats (LCRs) in 22q11.2, referred to as LCR22 A-H. DiGeorge (DGS)/velocardiofacial syndrome is the most prevalent form of a 22q11.2 deletions, caused by mainly proximal deletions between LCR22 A and D. As deletions of distal portion to the DGS deleted regions has been extensively studied, the recurrent distal 22q11.2 microdeletions distinct from DGS has been suggested as several clinical entities according to the various in size and position of the deletions on LCRs. We report a case of long-term follow-up of a female diagnosed with a 22q11.2 distal deletion syndrome, identified a deletion of 1.9 Mb at 22q11.21q11.23 (chr22: 21,798,906-23,653,963) using single nucleotide polymorphism array. This region was categorized as distal deletion type of 22q11.2, involving LCR22 D-F. She was born as a preterm, low birth weight to healthy non-consanguineous Korean parents. She showed developmental delay, growth retardation, dysmorphic facial features, and mild skeletal deformities. The patient underwent a growth hormone administration due to growth impairment without catch-up growth. While a height gain was noted, she had become overweight and was subsequently diagnosed with pre-diabetes. Our case could help broaden the genetic and clinical spectrum of 22q11.2 distal deletions.

LIN/CAN 차량용 인터페이스와 칼만 필터 기능을 통합한 차량용 ECU 설계 (Vehicle ECU Design Incorporating LIN/CAN Vehicle Interface with Kalman Filter Function)

  • 본 논문에서는 자동차의 위치 및 자세 추정에 사용되는 칼만 필터 가속기를 내장한 차량용 ECU(electronic control unit)를 설계하고 구현하였다. 프로세서 코어는 RISC-V를 사용하였으며 칼만 필터의 행렬 연산을 수행하는 가속기, 차량 내 통신에 사용되는 CAN(controller area network) 제어기, 센서 연결에 사용되는 LIN(local interconnect network) 제어기를 내장하였다. 칼만 필터 연산은 시간 업데이트와 측정 업데이트의 두 단계로 나뉘며 시간 업데이트 단계에서는 현재 상태변수와 오차 공분산을 예측하고 측정 업데이트 단계에서는 입력값을 받아 칼만 이득을 계산하여 값을 보정한다. 보통 소프트웨어에서는 곱셈에 부동소숫점 연산을 사용하지만 본 논문에서는 하드웨어 면적을 줄이기 위해 정밀도 분석을 고려한 고정소숫점 곱셈기를 사용하였다. 설계된 ECU는 Verilog HDL을 이용하여 검증하였으며 28nm 실리콘 공정으로 구현하였다. 28nm 실리콘 공정으로 구현하였을 때 동작 주파수는 100MHz, 면적은 0.37mm2, 게이트 수는 76만 게이트였다.

The Role of Digital Literacy on Online Opportunity and Online Risk in Indonesian Youth

  • The Internet and digital devices have become an important part of life among the youth (age 17-24) of today. During the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia, Internet use in youth increased by 19.3%, with an average usage of 11.6 hours per day. Youths gain a lot of opportunities from the Internet, but, it also exposes them to various risks. Therefore, there is a need for measures to make the Internet a safe place for youth, in a balanced way that addresses opportunities alongside risks, through digital literacy. It is expected that through digital literacy, youths can take advantage of online opportunities, without being subjected to any dangers. This study aims to examine the relationship between the digital literacy, online opportunities, and online risks of young people, while at the same time examining the influence of digital literacy on those online risks and opportunities. This study employed the quantitative study approach (explanatory study). Cross-sectional surveys and structured questionnaires were used for data collection. The results showed that youth's (age 17-24) monthly expenses, age, and education levels were important factors for digital literacy and online opportunity; also, the digital literacy variable plays an important role and affects online risk and opportunity positively. Digital literacy has a greater influence on online opportunities than it has on online risks. As youths spend more time online, they become more digitally literate, which can enable them to benefit more from new technology. Unfortunately, those with greater digital literacy cannot find a way to avoid risks while seeking opportunities.

층화추출에 의한 통제변수의 시뮬레이션 성과분석 (Simulation Analysis of Control Variates Method Using Stratified sampling)

  • 본 연구는 층화추출법과 통제변수기법을 시뮬레이션 실험설계에서 동시에 사용하여 파라미터의 추정 효율성을 개선하는 방법을 제안하였다. 시뮬레이션을 수행하는 도중에 수집한 표준화 부가변수를 통제변수기법에 활용하여 파라미터 추정을 위한 반응변수의 오차를 줄이도록 하였으며 통제변수 구성에 사용되지 않은 부가변수를 층화변수로 활용하는 층화추출기법을 적용하여 통제반응변수의 변이성을 추가로 감소하였다. 반응변수와 통제변수 사이의 공분산 관계가 알려진 경우에 두 방법을 동시에 활용하여 파라미터를 추정하는 기법의 시뮬레이션 효율성을 이론적으로 도출하였다. 반응변수와 통제변수 사이의 상관관계 구조가 알려지지 않은 경우 선택된 모형의 시뮬레이션 결과는 제안된 층화 통제 추정기법이 층화추출법이나 통제변수기법을 개별적으로 적용하여 파라미터를 추정하는 것보다 우수한 것으로 나타나고 있다.

아동이 지각한 부모애착, 부모의 행복감이 아동의 자율성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Children's Perceived Parental Attachment and Parents' Happiness on Children's Autonomy)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 아동이 지각한 부모애착, 부모의 행복감, 아동의 자율성 간의 관계가 어떠한지를 살펴보고, 부모애착과 부모의 행복감이 아동의 자율성에 미치는 영향력을 구체적으로 파악하고자 하였다. 한국아동패널 12차년도(2019년) 자료를 대상으로 빈도분석과 기술통계 분석을 하였고, 변인간의 상관분석을 위해 Pearson's의 적률 상관계수를 산출하였다. 아동의 자율성에 관해 부모애착과 부모의 행복감의 영향력을 살펴보기 위해 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동이 지각한 부모애착과 부모의 행복감, 아동의 자율성은 모두 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 부모 애착의 하위 변인 중에서는 모 신뢰감, 부 신뢰감, 모 의사소통이 영향력을 나타내는 것으로 드러났고, 부모 행복감에서는 모 행복감만이 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 부모 애착이 부모 행복감보다 더 중요한 영향력을 미치는 변인으로 작용한다는 것을 의미한다. 이에 우리는 아동이 능동적이고 주도적인 선택과 결정을 통해 삶의 만족감을 얻을 수 있도록 부모와 더욱 친밀하고 안정적인 관계 속에서 아동을 지지해 나갈 수 있도록 끊임없는 관심과 노력이 요구된다.

프랜차이즈 기업의 조직과 직무에 대한 심리적 소유감이 성과 및 고객지향성에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Psychological Ownership of Franchise Corporate on Performance and Customer Orientation)

  • Purpose - Recently, as the franchise market has grown rapidly and competition has intensified, the creation of competitive advantage by companies has become important as a corporate survival strategy. Based on previous studies, this study proposed a theoretical framework for the structural relationship between psychological ownership (organization and job), job performance, and customer orientation. Research design, data, and methodology - This research examines the structural relationship between psychological ownership, job performance, and customer orientation in terms of employees. More specifically, in this model, psychological ownership consists of two sub-dimensions of organization and function. Research models and hypotheses have been developed for this purpose. A total of 409 respondents responded via surveys. 2 out of 409 respondents have been removed and a total of 407 were used for this study. The data were analyzed using frequency analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation modeling with SPSS 21.0 and Amos 21.0 statistical program. Result - The results of the study are as follows. First, psychological ownership (organization and job) has a statistically significant positive effect on job performance. Second, psychological ownership of the job has a statistically significant positive effect on customer orientation. On the other hand, psychological ownership did not have a significant effect on customer orientation. Conclusions - The implications of this study are following as: From the theoretical point of view, this study distinguishes the psychological ownership of employees of a franchise corporate into two dimensions, organization and job, rather than a single dimension. Based on this, we examined the effect of psychological proprieties on job performance and customer orientation. This study also provides several implications. In a fiercely competitive franchise market, it is very important to analyze your employees to gain a competitive advantage over other competitors. It is meaningful to study the employees who work in the franchise. In addition, psychological ownership is an important variable that enhances job performance and leads to customer orientation, so the company needs to pay attention. Therefore, it needs to develop an internal marketing strategy that promotes psychological ownership.
