This paper concerns the design and implementation of a Bandwidth Variable Digital Chirp Generator (DCG) for the radar altimeter. A double SRAM parallel structure is used to breakthrough the upper DCG bandwidth limited by the highest clock frequency of the digital chips. An experimental system working in the waveform storage method has been implemented. We show that the bandwidth changed according to the radar altimeter's requirement and the design released the stringent speed requirement of the chips fur making a variable wide bandwidth DCG.

커널형 회귀함수의 추정법 중에서 국소 다항회귀 추정법이 가장 우수한 것으로 알려져 있다. 국소다항회귀 추정법에서도 다른 종류의 커널추정량과 마찬가지로 평활량이 중요한 역할을 한다. 특히 회귀함수가 복잡한 구조를 가질 때 변수평활량(variable band-width)을 사용하는 것이 타당할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 완전자료기저(fully automatic, fully data-driven) 변수평활량 선택법을 제안한다. 이 선택법은 편향과 분산의 예비추정에 필요한 평활량을 교차타당성 방법으로 선택하여 MSE를 추정하고 그 값을 최소화하는 평활량을 택하는 것이다. 제안된 방법의 우수성을 모의실험을 통하여 확인하였다. 그리고 제안된 방법은 자료점이 성긴(sparse)부분에서 생길 수 있는 문제점 즉 X'X의 비정칙성(non-singularity)을 해결할 수 있는 방법이라는 데에도 큰 의미가 있다.

Modulated components of a speech signal are frequently used for speech coding, speech recognition, and speech synthesis. Time-frequency representation (TFR) reveals some information about instantaneous frequency, instantaneous bandwidth and boundary of each component of the considering speech signal. In many cases, the extraction of AM-FM components corresponding to instantaneous frequencies is difficult since the Fourier spectra of the components with time-varying instantaneous frequency are overlapped each other in Fourier frequency domain. In this paper, an efficient method decomposing speech signal into AM-FM components is proposed. A variable bandwidth filter is developed for the decomposition of speech signals with time-varying instantaneous frequencies. The variable bandwidth filter can extract AM-FM components of a speech signal whose TFRs are not overlapped in timefrequency domain. Also, amplitude and instantaneous frequency of the decomposed components are estimated by using Hilbert transform.

본 논문은 가변게인 회전자 자속관측기를 이용하여 전동기의 영 속도를 포함하는 전 속도대역에서 우수한 성능을 갖는 스핀들 유도전동기의 센서리스 벡터제어기법을 제안하였다. 제안한 유도전동기의 센서리스 속도제어를 위한 고피나스 모델 자속관측기는 전동기의 저속영역에서 추정속도에 따른 가변구조 PI이득을 사용한다. 실험 결과는 제안한 센서리스 알고리즘의 만족스러운 운전 결과를 보여준다.

In this paper, a VBF(variable bandwidth filter) is suggested and analyzed in time-frequency domain. There are four kinds of VBF, which are low-pass VBF, high-pass VBF, band-pass VBF and band-stop VBF. The proposed VBF can extract the components of signals within variable instantaneous bandwidth at a specific time instant. Instantaneous bandwidth is estimated in time-frequency domain. The VBF is represented by rational form in extended Fourier frequency domain.

가변 압축 미디어 특성을 갖는 비디오 서비스는 발생되는 프레임 단위의 트래픽의 유동성 때문에 대역폭 관리에 있어 많은 제약을 수반한다. 특히, MPEG 비디오와 같이 VBR(Variable Bit Rate) 트래픽 특성을 갖는 비디오에 대한 대역폭 관리는 프레임간의 심한 트래픽 변이 때문에 대역폭 활용 이득이 낮아진다. 또한, VOD(Video-On-Demand)와 같은 대화형 비디오 서비스에서 VCR 기능과 같은 대화형 서비스를 제공할 때의 트래픽 변화는 예측하기 힘들기 때문에 효과적인 대역폭 관리가 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 MPEG 비디오와 같이 VBR 트래픽 특성을 지닌 저장 미디어를 기반으로 하는 대화형 비디오 서비스를 위한 동적 대역폭 할당 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법은 선인출 기반의 가변구간 대역폭 할당 기법과 다수 스트림에 대한 동적 대역폭 관리를 통해 주어진 전체 대역폭의 활용율을 극대화시킨다. 또한, 제안하는 기법은 MPEG 스트림의 트래픽 특성을 반영한 대역폭 할당 방법을 적용하며, 다중 스트림에 대해 동적 대역폭 관리를 사용한 네트워크 자원 활용을 극대화시킬 수 있는 방법을 제공한다.

Considerable progress on the problem of data-driven bandwidth selection in kernel density estimation has been made recently. The goal of this paper is to provide an introduction to the methods currently available, with discussion at both a practical and a nontechnical theoretical level. The main setting considered here is global bandwidth kernel estimation, but some recent results on variable bandwidth kernel estimation are also included.

높은 대역폭과 이더넷의 저비용 확장성 그리고 망 구성의 효율성 측면에서 장점을 가지고 있는 Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON)이 새로운 광 가입자망 기술로써 많은 관심을 받고 있다. EPON 시스템의 상향 링크는 다수의 사용자들에 의하여 공유되기 때문에 사용자들에게 상향 링크의 대역을 효율적으로 할당해 주는 대역할당 방식이 매우 중요한 역할을 하고 있다. 또한 사용자들로부터 요구되는 다양한 서비스 요구사항을 만족시키기 위하여 EPON 시스템에서의 QoS 지원에 대한 연구가 요구되고 있다. 최근 EPON 시스템을 위한 다양한 동적대역할당 방식들이 제안되었으나 사용자들에게 만족스러운 QoS를 지원하기에는 부족하였다. 본 논문에서는 EPON 시스템에서의 QoS 지원과 동시에 동적으로 대역할당이 가능한 가변 윈도우 방식을 제안한다. 기존 방식들의 가장 높은 우선순위 클래스 위주의 QoS 지원 방식과는 다르게 가변 윈도우 방식은 가장 높은 우선순위 클래스의 QoS를 보장하는 동시에 우선순위가 낮은 클래스들에게도 필요시 동적으로 대역을 할당하여 향상된 QoS 성능을 제공할 수 있는 장점이 있다. 성능평가를 통하여 가변 윈도우 방식의 QoS 성능을 기존에 제안된 방식들과 비교 평가하여 그 성능의 우수성을 입증하였다.

본 논문에서는 인터넷 상의 분산 비디오 스트리밍 서비스에서 저장된 가변 비트율 비디오의 전송에 대해 고려한다. 스트리밍 서비스에서 전송 중에 대역폭 재조정 프로토콜에 따라 대역폭 할당이 줄게 되면 흔히 재생의 끊김 현상이 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 극복할 수 있는 가변 비트율 비디오에 대한 전송 기법을 제안한다. 이 기법에서는 저장된 가변 비트율 비디오에 대한 사전 정보를 사용하여 재생이 끊김없이 이루어질 수 있도록 전송한다. 또한 제안된 전송 기법 하에서의 수용 제어를 위해 버퍼-대역폭 관계를 근사적으로 계산할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다.
