  • Diaphragm type noncontact automatic control valve is a valve for controling acidic PR(Photo Resist) liquid used in the semiconductor process. PR is photosensitive liquid that changes phases depending on light transmittance. PR is very toxic and expensive; the purpose of this paper is to address methods that prevent loss due to leaks. The design of noncontact precise automatic control valve is expected to play an important role in controlling fluid flow, therefore influencing energy conservation and environmental improvement. In this paper, diaphragm type automatic control valve's part design, assembly and simulation are introduced. Also, through the analysis of fluid flow the valve's internal velocity, pressure, and turbulent intensity are interpreted. This paper proposes to contribute to the improvement of the valve's performance.

  • Damping characteristics of ER dampers and flow rates inside ER valve with two different valve types were analyzed and compared with test results. Fluid flow inside ER valves was modeled by Bingham plastic model and Hagen-Poiseulli flow, while the equations of motion of total ER damper system were modeled by flow and hydraulic force balance. A general straight valve case was compared with a bended valve case which is newly tested for a possible improvement of ER damping force. As expected, the bended ER valve generates higher damping force and lower flow rates than the conventional straight ER valve due to additional flow restriction at the bended section. Analytical models of ER valve and ER damper generally predict reasonable performance characteristics of tested results. Therefore, developed analysis can be used for designing new ER dampers and simulation of ER semi-active suspension system as well.

박용 디젤기관의 캠-밸브기구 하중특성 (The Chacteristics of Load on the Cam-Valve Mechanism for the Marine Diesel Engine)

  • In this study both the experimental and the analytic approach to find load characteristics on the cam-valve mechanism for matrine diesel engine were demonstrated. The experiment was per-formed with a test rig consisted of real engine components for cam-valve mechanism of overhead valve type. The 9-degree of freedom lumped mass model was developed to simulate cam-valve motion throughly. Behavior of the load acting on the cam-valve mechanism was estimated for the various cam speed. The load variation was getting deeper with the higher cam speed and the jumping of the follower was shown both in the experiment and in the simulation.

  • In this study, the authors investigate the basic characteristics of a two stage directional control valve with pilot spool assembled in main spool coaxially. The step response characteristics and effects of major design parameters' values on valve performances arc clarified through numerical simulations. In addition, the authors examined the possibility of applying the object valve for this study as a proportional control valve. Based on the numerical simulation results, new design values for the reformed design as a proportional control valve were suggested.

3-way 초고압 밸브의 유로제어를 위한 니플 파단 특성에 관한 연구 (Study on Characteristics of Nipple Fracture for Fluid Path Control of 3-Way Ultra-High Pressure Valve)

  • The 3-way valve have been used as a valve for opening and closing the valve by the flow control in the pressure system of the cryogenic and high pressure environment. In this paper, numerical analysis and experimental study on fracture nipple of 3-way ultra high pressure valve applied to space launch vehicle was carried out. We have developed a 3-way valve numerical simulation modeler of cryogenic environment using commercial software ANSYS 18.2. As results of numerical analysis, optimum nipple condition was derived. In addition, a 3-way valve prototype was fabricated and the fracture test was performed and compared with the numerical analysis results.

  • For optimizing the performance of SI engine such as engine torque, fuel consumption, and emissions, systems for variable valve timing were developed by many automotive researchers. In this work, we investigated the relationship between valve timing and intake orifice noise to improve the NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness) performance as well as engine torque and power. Two approaches are conducted, which are engine dynamometer testing and 1-D simulation analysis. Experimental data were measured on about 21 different operating conditions. This experiment shows that the intake and exhaust valve timing related to overlap period influence on the NVH performance, especially intake orifice noise of engine at given range of operation conditions. Similar results are achieved by using 1-D simulation analysis. It is concluded that the optimal strategies of controlling valve timing and tuning intake systems, are necessary to develop engines or vehicles with good sound quality.

  • In this paper, it has been investigated that the design and simulation of vacuum pump driven by linear motor. Vacuum pump consists of unified plunger and piston part, coils, inlet valve and outlet valve. Operating principal of vacuum pump show that air is to flow to go inside through the inlet valve when the magnetic force (16N) is exerted, whereas, air is to flow to go outside through outlet valve when spring farce (14.8N) is exerted. The results of simulation. it was turned out that reached vacuum pressure was about -0.55 bar at 150 seconds, magnetic force was loaded with 16 Newton, displacement of actuator was about 8mm.

  • Hydrostatic Bearings have been applied to ultra high precision machine tools and precision instruments, because of their low friction characteristic, high load carrying capacity and high moving accuracy at all range of speed. In regard to realizing the Hydrostatic Bearing, various restrictors such as capillary, orifice, diaphram valve, spool valve, and etc can be used. However, their stiffness and flexibility are not sufficient in practical use for ultra precision machine tool elements. In this study dynamic equations were derived and the dynamic characteristics were simulated for both orifice and flow control servo valve. Simulation was carried out on the condition that static and sinusoidal dynamic loads were applied to the table of CNC jig Boring machine. The simulation results indicate the improvement of the performance of the Bearing system when flow control servo valve has been used as restrictor of Hydrostatic Bearing.

  • A pneumatic servo valve which is widely applied in industrial field. And It is consist of force motor, spool & sleeve and servo controller. In this study. we developed the force motor which is consume to low power for a pneumatic servo valve. We could reduce the number of turn of the solenoid by using ferromagnetic permanent magnet and took different direction of each other using one coil instead of two coil. we modeled a system consisting of various electro-mechanical subsystems. The appropriateness of the model was verified by simulation. The simulation model resolved the motion of spool, the winding current and the magnetic force. Also, we calculated the displacement and velocity of the spool, flux contour line, b vector. flux density. flux linkage, back EMF etc.

  • The purpose of this study is to bring out the optimal design factors which effect on dynamic characteristics in the design of proportional flow control valve with high response characteristics, and to verify the validity of the design factors. In this study, force feedback type flow control valve with nozzle-flapper is studied. And, the influences which fixed orifice, nozzle diameter, and maximum displacement between nozzle and flapper effect on dynamic characteristics are analyzed. We have done simulations using the optimal design factors and simulink(Matlab) as a simulation tool, and verified the validity of our simulations by means of comparison our simulation results with an experimental results of another similar valve.
