SCV를 장착학 가솔린 가시화엔진에서의 연소특성 (Combustion Characteristics Using a S.I. Optically Acessible Engine with SCV)

  • This study describes the combustion characteristics under various condition of air excess ratio and ignition timing in a 2-valve gasoline optically accessible engine with swirl control valve(SCV). It adapted three different types of SCA(open ration 72.5%, 78%, 89%) to strengthen a swirl flow. Pressure data were acquired using pressure sensor to investigate the effect of swirl flow on combustion, and from these pressure data, IMEP(indicated mean effective pressure) and MFB(mass fraction burnt)were calculated to explain burn rate and flame speed. From acquired flame images, inspected the flame propagation direction, flame area, and flame centroid, Flame propagation direction was shown different tendency between with/without SCV, and flame area with SCV was faster and larger than that of conventional engine. Finally, the representative flame image at each crank angle were acquired by PDF method to verify flame growth process. It is found that strengthened swirl flow is more beneficial for faster and stable combustion.

  • 버터플라이 밸브는 다른 밸브에 비해 작동의 용이성으로 각종 산업에서 유량 조절을 목적으로 많이 활용되고 있다. 버터플라이 밸브를 통과하는 유량을 제어하기 위해서는 디스크 각에 따른 용량계수에 따라 유량을 제어하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 고품질 밸브 제작을 위해 성능 지표 중에 하나인 용량계수를 기존의 제품의 3D 모델을 이용하여 유동 해석 및 분석을 수행하였고 이를 검증하기 위해 용량계수 측정 장비 측정을 통해 해석의 신뢰성을 확인하였다.

터보엔진의 저소음 흡기 RCV 시스템 개발 (A Development of an Intake RCV System for the Low Noise Turbo Engine)

  • In this paper, an intake RCV system for low noise turbo engine was developed through optimization process of a geometric path of compressor housing and an open rate of recirculation valve. At first, the critical customer requirement from voice of customer was defined and quality function deployment of an intake RCV system was executed. And then, the renovative concept design using pugh matrix method was selected as final concept for satisfaction of requirement. Simultaneously, system analysis was carried by function diagram and fishbone diagram. Next, control factors and levels for the optimal design were performed. And, the optimal design of an intake RCV system was studied using design of experiment. Conclusively, we achieved not only cancellation tip-out noise at the driving condition but also improvement of NVH commodity through optimization process of an intake RCV system, which is optimal configuration of compressor housing and recirculation valve.

  • We developed the micro CSF (celebrospinal fluid) shunt valve with surface and bulk micromachining technology in polymer MEMS. This micro CSF shunt valve was formed with four micro check valves to have a membrane connected to the anchor with the four bridges. The up-down movement of the membrane made the CSF on & off and the valve characteristic such as open pressure was controlled by the thickness and shape of the bridge and the membrane. The membrane, anchor and bridge layer were made of the $O_2$ RIE (reactive ion etching) patterned Parylene thin film to be about 5~10 microns in thickness on the silicon wafer. The dimension of the rectangular nozzle is 0.2*0.2 $\textrm{mm}^2$ and the membrane 0.45 mm in diameter. The bridge width is designed variously from 0.04 mm to 0.12 mm to control the valve characteristics. To protect the membrane and bridge in the CSF flow, we developed the packaging system for the CSF micro shunt valve with the deep RIE of the silicon wafer. Using this package, we can control the gap size between the membrane and the nozzle, and protect the bridge not to be broken in the flow. The total dimension of the assembled system is 2.5*2.5 $\textrm{mm}^2$ in square, 0.8 mm in height. We could precisely control the burst pressure and low rate of the valve varing the design parameters, and develop the whole CSF shunt system using this polymer MEMS fabricated CSF shunt valve.

  • 가스발생기용 산화제 개폐밸브는 파일롯 공압으로 포핏을 열고 스프링 힘에 의해 닫음으로써 로켓엔진의 추진제 유량을 제어한다. 현재 개발 중인 산화제 개폐밸브는 액추에이터에서 압력을 제거하면 닫히도록 설계되어 있다. 그러므로 밸브의 성능을 평가하기 위해 밸브가 열리고 닫히는 특성에 따라 힘 평형 상태를 분석할 필요가 있다. 밸브가 닫히기 시작하는 시점의 작동 유체의 압력을 결정하고, 포핏이 열리는 시점의 압력을 결정되어 힘평형이 설계되어 있다. 인증시험 수준에서의 극저온 유동 시험 하에서 채터링 현상은 금속 기밀부에서 다량의 누설이 발생했다. 힘평형 계산을 이용한 산화제 밸브의 채터링이 발생된 시점의 압력은 약 11 bar로 예측 된다.

승모판막질환의 판막재건술36례 성적 (Clinical Results of Mitral Valve Repair)

  • From January 1962 to March 1987, 97 patients underwent operation for mitral valve disease. Of these patients, 61 [62.9%] required mitral valve replacement. Thirty-six patients [37.1%] had mitral valve repair. The mean age was 26.9*11.6 years [range 5 months to 48 years]. There were 32 [88.9%] cases of rheumatic valve disease, 4 [11.1%] cases of congenital mitral valve disease. Valve dysfunction was classified into three types: type I [normal leaflet motion], 6 patients; type II [prolapsed leaflet], 1 patient; type III [restricted leaflet motion], 29 patients. Twenty-nine patients [80.6%] had pure or predominant stenosis and 7[19.4%] had pure regurgitation. No patient was in NYHA functional class I. Three patients [16.7%] were in functional class II, 15[83.3%] were in functional class II. The techniques used included closed mitral commissurotomy [16 patients], open mitral commissurotomy [13 patients], localized Wooler type annuloplasty [4 patients], suture repair of leaflet defect [3 patients], chordal shortening [1 patient], Carpentier ring annuloplasty [1 patient], and fenestration of fused chordae [1 patient]. There were two perioperative deaths [5.6%], related to left ventricular failure and reoperation. The survivors were followed up for 94 patient-years [mean 4.68*5.54 years]. One late death [1.1*1.1% per patient-year] occurred and was valve related. Reoperation was required in 3 patients, of whom 2 were deaths. There was 1 case [1.1*1.1% per patient-year] of thromboembolism. No patient received anticoagulant after operation. At 10 year, 92*7.4% of the patients were still alive. The actuarial survival rate of patients free of valve-related complication was 79*6.4% at 6 years, 27*12.1% at 11 years. After surgery, 18 patients [88.9%] were in NYHA functional class I or II.

승모판막질환의 재수술에 대한 임상적 고찰 (Clinical Evaulation of Reoperation for Mitral Vavular Disease)

  • Total 20 cases of reoperation for mitral vavular disease, which had been performed during the period from May 1983 till October 1991, were reviewed. This study contained 1 case of previous balloon valvuloplasty and 1 case of death with bleeding from right ventricle during sternal reenrty. The average time intervals between reoperation and previous operation was 19 years in closed mitral commissurotomy[n=4], 7 years and 2 months in mitral valve replacement[n=10], 1 year and 8 months in mitral valvuloplasty[n=4], 3 years and 10 months in open mitral commissurotomy [n=2]. The cause of reoperation in closed mitral commissurotomy was progression of the disease, and residual stenosis with progression was the cause in open mitral commissurotomy cases. Technical failure might be the cause in the cases of valvuloplasty. In prosthetic valve replacement group the causes of reoperation were primary failure. Also two cases of suggested valve thrombosis and one case of failure of tricuspid annuloplasty was noted in prosthetic valve replacement group. The used valves for reoperation were Ionescue-Shiley in 3 cases, Bjork-Shiley in 6 cases, St. Jude Medical in 2 cases and CarboMedics in 8 cases. The mortality rate was 20%[n=4] and the causes of death were low output syndrome in 1 case, multiple organ failure in 2 cases and bleeding in 1 case during sternal reentry. During follow up 1 case of sudden death was observed.

보조동력장치 연료 공급용 서보밸브 토크모터의 기초 수치모사 연구 (Priliminary Numerical Simulation of the Torque Motor for a Servo Valve in the Fuel Supply System of APU)

  • The APU(Auxiliary Power Unit) needs a set of complex pipeline for the fuel supply system where some of the main valves controlling the flow rate consist of the servo valve worked with a torque motor. The input electric current produces an induced magnetic field almost perpendicular to the background magnetic filed generated by fixed permanent magnets. The induced torque deforms the tubular bushing, and directly rotates an armature, which can open and close the valve. In this study, we start from a basic analytic model using a simple electro-magneto-statics, and expand our model to the three-dimensional one computationally applying a commercial code named COMSOL. The result is compared with each other, and reasonable numerical data are obtained for the dynamic behavior and multi-physics system.

LPG 용기용 밸브의 밀봉부품 크랙 및 결함에 관한 실험적 고찰 (Experimental Investigation on Cracks and Defects of a Valve Sealing Components for a LPG Cylinder)

  • 본 본문에서는 LPG 용기용 가스밸브의 O-링과 밸브패킹의 밀봉결함과 크랙에 관련된 실험적 연구를 수행하고자 한다. LP 가스의 누출을 방지하기 위해 사용하는 O-링은 LPG 밸브의 밀봉 안전성을 확보하는 핵심부품으로 대단히 중요하다. 밸브패킹은 LPG 연료의 공급과 충전을 하는데, 가스 공급구를 열고 닫는 중요한 역할을 담당한다. 이들 두개의 밀봉부품에 대한 성능은 밸브의 누설 안전성과 장수명에 밀접한 관련이 있다. 연구결과에 의하면, O-링의 대부분은 파티션 부근의 결합불량과 과도한 압축률로 인해 원주방향으로 크랙이 발생하는 것으로 분석되었다. 그 이외의 결함으로 거론된 경우는 LP가스의 과도한 가스압력으로 인한 압출현상의 발생은 압출크랙을 일으키는 원인으로 작용하고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 가스밸브의 누설 안전성을 확보하고 수명을 연장하기 위해 O-링과 밸브패킹에 대한 엄격한 품질관리와 인증제도의 도입을 권장하고자 한다. 결국에는 LPG용기용 밸브의 품질과 안전성 확보를 위해 밀봉장치에 대한 품질안전 보증제도를 도입해야 밸브를 오랫동안 사용할 수 있을 것이다.
