  • Active body control system is an important system for determining the driving stability and ride comfort of the vehicle. Active body control system is composed of a cylinder unit power supply unit, and control valve unit. Control valve is a proportional pressure control valve, the dynamic characteristics of the valve affects the performance of the active body control system. We have developed an analytical model, we analyzed the design parameters of the proportional pressure control valve. Further, by knowing the design parameters effect on the system and to optimize the design parameters, and improved performance of the dynamic properties.

  • This paper introduces the development of the analysis and design program of valve train system. In order to verify the stability of design and improve the performance of system efficiently, it is required that integrated and interactive simulation program. The presented program is developed in the base of the object-oriented, capsulation, modulization, OLE (objected linking and embedding) and various design theory. It contains the expandability and flexibility of the structure. In addition to that, it is programmed to make the convenient user interface by using the visualization programming. This program can support the modification of the valve element as well as the development of the valve train system in the beginning of design. It is expected to save the cost and time for the design of valve train system.

  • An expert system to design compressor valve systems has been developed. Design process is viewed as a chain of devisions based on the results of necessary analyses. Actual design is implemented by the interaction between the expert system and the user. In this work, it is demonstrated how a final design is achieved by utilizing the rule bases and analysis capability of the system. The structure of the rule bases and related parameter studies are also explained. Advantages of using an expert system approach for valve designs are explained using a practical example.

Modelling of Optimum Design of High Vacuum System for Plasma Process

  • Electronic devices used in the mobile environments fabricated under the plasma conditions in high vacuum system. Especially for the development of advanced electronic devices, high quality plasma as the process conditions are required. For this purpose, the variable conductance throttle valves for controllable plasma employed to the high vacuum system. In this study, we analyzed the effects of throttle valve applications on vacuum characteristics simulated to obtain the optimum design modelling for plasma conditions of high vacuum system. We used commercial simulator of vacuum system, VacSim(multi) on this study. Reliability of simulator verified by simulation of the commercially available models of high vacuum system. Simulated vacuum characteristics of the proposed modelling agreed with the observed experimental behaviour of real systems. Pressure limit valve and normally on-off control valve schematized as the modelling of throttle valve for the constant process-pressure of below 10-3 torr. Simulation results plotted as pump down curve of chamber, variable valve conductance and conductance logic of throttle valve. Simulated behaviors showed the applications of throttle valve sustained the process-pressure constantly, stably, and reliably in plasma process.

  • As the analysis and design technologies for electro-magnetic actuation has advanced over the years, proportional solenoid valve is gaining acceptance in wide range of industrial and commercial applications because of its superior characteristics over the conventional AOV or MOV, such as improved performance, reduced maintenance costs. This research deals with the position controller design of two-stage flow control solenoid valve. Investigation of steady-state characteristics and dynamic model identification for pilot disc is performed. Least square method to minimize the error magnitude of frequency response between the closed-loop and target system is applied to the design of PI-controller gains. From the experiments of step and frequency response, it is concluded that the controller meets the performance specification of target system, which verifies the usefulness of controller design method for proportional solenoid valve.

  • Almost every hydraulic system is equipped with a pressure relief valve, to maintain working pressure of the system at a pre-determined level. Thus, dynamic characteristics of such a relief valve, in conjunction with other hydraulic components, are important in designing the hydraulic control system. The single stage pressure relief valve is dynamically undesirable, due to relatively low viscous damping, that causes high frequency oscillations. This problem is overcome by introducing orifices in the inner pilot line, and drain line. In this study, for the single stage spool type pressure relief valve, the system equations were derived through an adequate linearisation and several simplifications were made, to use the transfer function formulation technique. All coefficients were evaluated and used, to make some results by using Matlab software. Results of analysis are compared with experimental results. In this study, parameters affecting stability of valve design are determined and suggested relative to the design.

It is essential to verify the stability of the design and to improve the performance of the system. In order to do that effi챠ently, it is required that integrated and interactive simulation analysis program. IV-TAP is developed in the base of the object-oriented, capsulation, modulization, OLE(objected linking and embedding) and variational design theory. So it contain the expandability and flexibility of the structure. In additon to that, it is programed to make the convenient user interface by using the visualization programming.   • Throughout the practical process engineering design and commissioning 8E startup experiences focused on chemical process safety, the review of design and installation of the thermal relief valve with its surrounding facility in a chemical plant piping system is made to help the better understanding of the piping system of characteristics of thermal relief valve which Is consisting of theoretical approach, correlation in terms of temperature and pressure increase caused by external heat supply in a piping system, consideration of thermal relief valve design, pressure relieving system of serial thermal relief valves and exception of their installation. It is earnestly recommended that following topic should be implemented during thermal relief valve design, installation and normal operation as well.

  • Hydrogen energy is the clean energy source of the future. Ultra-high-pressure hydrogen is used in hydrogen stations, with its parts being developed. On the other hand, ultra-high-pressure ball valve, which is one of its parts, depends on overseas, with the level of domestic research on this being only about 10% of advanced technology research on this abroad. In this study, the shape of an ultra-high-pressure ball valve for a hydrogen station was designed to improve its structural strength. The valve body was designed according to distance between both processed body holes along inlet and outlet ports. The designed vale body was then analyzed using ANSYS to check whether points with stress were concentrated. In addition, the valve with improved body was analyzed to confirm that the valve satisfied the design condition.

  • In this study, the authors investigate the basic characteristics of a two stage directional control valve with pilot spool assembled in main spool coaxially. The step response characteristics and effects of major design parameters' values on valve performances arc clarified through numerical simulations. In addition, the authors examined the possibility of applying the object valve for this study as a proportional control valve. Based on the numerical simulation results, new design values for the reformed design as a proportional control valve were suggested.
