  • Decision Analysis(DA) using Value Focused Thinking(VFT) can be an excellent process to deal with hard decisions. The intent of this research is to provide better understanding of the United States Air Force(USAF) officer retention problem. This thesis effort involves building a VFT model to find out more effective alternatives in retaining pilots and non pilots. This model, in conjunction with the results of the post analysis, shows an example of the application of a VFT approach to the USAF officer retention problem.

  • Main elements in definition of space value were physical, formal, and reasonable characteristics in the past. Howener recently, definition of space value is changing by being advanced about study concerned with human's cognition and thinking way in definition and analysis of space. As you see, cognitive psychologists have emphasized the importance of human's cognitive structure and process and studied diverse aspects of human's thinking ; consciousness, perception, memory, image, language, decision-making, inference, and so on. Therefore main elements in definition of space value are five-dimensional, psychological, symbolic, mental, emotional characteristics above physical, formal, and reasonable characteristics. As mentioned above, the conversion of thinking focused on reason to thinking focused on human's spirit and emotion is achieved in contemporary architecture and 'human's experience' in space becomes a very important factor. For that reason, the purpose of this study is consideration of human's cognitive process in space by conversion of thinking and gives a definition about experience. And, I would like to define 'experience design' whose main attribute is experience in space and establish theoretical basis of experience design through theoretical researches about experience. This study on experience design that induces users to participate in space and stimulate human's spirit is a important point in definition of space value not only contemporary interior architecture but also prospective generation.

Information Systems Planning Method Based on Value-focused Thinking

  • In the existing ISP methods, the important' role of enterprise value is usually ignored or not recognized in the information systems planning (ISP). Besides, in some ISP methods, there is a connotative precondition that the main body of value is always the enterprise stakeholder. Thus, in ISP, the enterprise stakeholders‘ value has been recognized while the value of other main bodies has been neglected, which has resulted in boycott and other problems in normalization construction. Based on the existing ISP analysis frame and ways, this article analyzes the enterprise fundamental principle of enterprise value acting on ISP and defines the formation of enterprise value. On the basis of Keeney's analysis way of value focused thinking for decision-making, we induct the factors of enterprise value into the ISP method and set forth such an ISP process: (1) identify the aggregation of enterprise value; (2) conform the objective structure of enterprise levels; (3) determine the appraisal standard for enterprise fundamental objectives; (4) determine the basic structure for information systems ; (5) confirm the data requirements for information systems; (6) give appraisal and comment.

유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 관한 사용자 가치구조 연구 (Developing a User-Perceived Value Framework for Ubiquitous Computing)

  • 본 연구에서는 차세대 기술로서 각광을 받고 있는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 대하여 사용자들이 어떠한 가치를 부여하는지를 탐색하여 그 가치 프레임워크를 구성하여 제시하였다. Keeney가 제시하였던 "가치중심사고(value-focused thinking)"의 방법을 활용하여 22명의 사용자들을 인터뷰하였고 이러한 인터뷰들에서 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 바라는 바를 중심으로 435개의 진술을 확보하였다. 정형화되어 있지 않은 진술들을 정성적 방법으로 정화하여 166개의 '가치' 진술을 도출하였고 이어서 이들의 클러스터링을 통하여 사용자들이 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅에 부여하는 가치를 내재하고 있는 37개의 목적 (objectives)을 확정하였다. 이 목적 진술들간의 관계가 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅을 바라보는 가치의 구조이므로 이를 도출하기 위하여 포커스그룹을 시행하여 수단목적(means-objective)와 목표 목적 (ends-objective)들로 분류하였고 수단과 목적을 한 눈에 볼 수 있도록 네트워크다이어그램으로 구성을 하여 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅을 바라보는 가치의 프레임워크를 제시하였다. 이 프레임워크는 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅을 활용하여 비즈니스의 기회를 창출하고 심화하는 데 활용할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

가치 중심 사고를 적용한 RFID 시스템의 가치 모형 개발 (Modeling the Value of RFID System using Value-Focused Thinking)

  • Recently, more and more firms are considering the adoption of RFID technology because it is expected to make process automation easier and has many different application areas. A review of existing studies about RFID adoption methodology shows that the most of the proposed methodologies are mainly based on economic evaluations. However, in the near future when the adoption and diffusion of RFID become major forces among business firms, it would surely have some limits to decide its adoption solely on the basis of economic considerations. In order for all the important strategic objectives to be considered during the major decision processes, it is necessary to make explicit what the decision makers really want to achieve from the RFID system. In this paper, we propose a general value model of RFID system which can provide an overall vision of all values RFID adoption may offer and a way to search and evaluate alternatives on the basis of these values. Especially, this model contains not only opportunities but also risks of RFID adoption so that a balanced consideration can be made. The model building process was essentially based on the 'value-focused thinking' approach proposed by R. Keeney. The proposed model is expected to provide insights about what to do in the process of introduction in order to maximize the potential benefits and minimize the negative risks. Referring to this value model, the important decisions would have greater chance to be based on a balanced consideration of opportunities and risks.

과학 기반 STEAM의 '날씨와 우리생활' 학습이 창의적사고 및 창의적 인성에 미치는 효과 (The Effects of the Creative Thinking and Creative Personality Using the 'Weather and our life' on Science-Based STEAM)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of science-based STEAM on creative thinking and creative personality. For this study the 3 grade, 2 class was divided into a research group and a comparative group. The class was pre-tested in order to ensure the same standard. The research group had the science class with science-based STEAM, and the comparative group had the class with teacher centered lectures for 5 months. The science-based STEAM was focused on finding stories in lifes, composition of knowledge, completion of knowledge. The results of this study are as follows. First, science-based STEAM was effective in creative thinking. Second, science-based STEAM was effective in creative personality. Also, after using science-based STEAM was good reaction by students. As a result, the elementary science class with science-based STEAM had the effects of developing creative thinking and creative personality. it means the science class with creative personality has potential possibilities and value to develop creative thinking and creative personality.

중학교 근사값 단원 학습 지도 방향 탐색: 남북한 교과서 비교를 중심으로 (A Study on the Teaching "Approximate Value" in Secondary School: Focused on the Comparison of Mathematics Textbooks of South and North Korea)

  • This study attempts to compare the topic "approximate value" in mathematics text-books of the 2nd year of South Korean junior high schools and that of the 3rd year of North Korean high schools. In addition, a survey questionnaire was distributed to junior and senior high school students as well as to mathematics teachers in South Korea. Based on the results of the survey, this study attempts to uncover the issues within the current teaching methods of "approximate value" and proposes the directions in which the teaching of approximate value should go in order to enhance mathematical thinking power and creativity of the students. First, it Is necessary to teach students how an error applies to the real world. To accomplish this end, it may be worthwhile to consider introducing the relative errors with more seriousness. Second, it is more important to teach the way of thinking which is concealed in the background of the calculation methods of approximate values than to simply teach mere calculation methods. Third, it is necessary to teach the calculation of approximate value with more realistic examples. Fourth, It is needed to teach students what the differences are when the terminology of "approximately" and "about" is used in real life and in mathematics.

초등과학 수업에서 통합적 사고 학습을 위한 R.G.B. 기법 개발 및 적용 (The Developing and Applying of the R.G.B. Technique for Combined Thinking Learning in the Elementary Science Classes)

  • The purpose of this study was to research applying possibility of the R.G.B. technique for combined thinking learning in the elementary science classes. For this, R.G.B. technique which was designed to mark students' output with red, green and blue colors depending one's judgement was developed and applied in elementary science classes. The results were follows. Firstly, the propriety of questionnaires constitution which was developed to achieve study objects in science classes was given credit by experts. Secondly, the evaluating results of student's outputs which had been done during science classes were credible on focused achieving the objects of science classes. Thirdly, in a point of view achieving creative thinking skill as well as knowledge, R.G.B. technique was effective. Fourthly, the combined thinking learning joined R.G.B. technique has possibility of applying to general science classes. Fifthly, the students who were participating in combined thinking learning science classes based on R.G.B. technique said with great satisfaction. Consequently, combined thinking learning based on R.G.B. technique should be paid attention to the value of possibility to achieve study effects both creative thinking skill and knowledge.

수열의 교수.학습을 위한 교수단원 소재 연구 - 다각수와 각뿔수 (A study on teaching unit material for teaching and learning of sequences - polygonal numbers and pyramidal numbers)

  • In this paper, a series of tasks related on polygonal numbers and pyramidal numbers are suggested for using them as teaching unit materials for teaching and learning of sequences in junior high school mathematics. Especially, finding n-th term in those seque-nces, relations among polygonal numbers, and relations among Pyramidal numbers are focused on. A series of tasks related on polygonal numbers and pyramidal numbers have three math-eucational values. First, they have a value as natural materials for teaching and teaming of finding nth term of original sequences using pro-gression of differences. Second, they have a value as materials for teaching and learning of mathematical thinking such as general-ization, analogy, etc. Third, they have a value as materials for teaching and learning of algebraic operation, proof, and connecting mathematical knowledges.

모바일 커머스의 성공 요인들에 관한 연구 : 가치 중심적인 분석 (Mobile Commerce Success Factors: A Value-Focused Analysis)

  • 최근 모바일 핸드셋을 포함한 모바일 서비스의 보급률이 향상되고, 소비자들의 다양한 욕구를 충족시키기 위한 모바일 데이터 서비스들이 우리의 생활 전반에 급격히 확산되고 있다. 이러한 모바일 커머스의 환경에서 기업은 효과적 인 상품 개발과 서비스를 위해 사용자들이 모바일 커머스에서 중요하게 고려하는 가치가 무엇인지를 파악할 필요가 있다. 모바일 커머스에 관한 연구들이 활성화 되어가고는 있지만 아직까지 사용자 관점에서 접근한 모바일 커머스의 가치에 대하여 학술적으로 합의된 분석 프레임웍은 없는 것으로 보이며 기존의 연구들은 기술 중심적인 연구에 치중되어 있거나 모바일 커머스에 적합하지 않을 수 있는 기존의 프레임웍을 적용하여 실증하기 위한 연구들이 주류를 이루고 있다. 본 연구에서는 Keeney의 가치 중심적인 사고(Value-focused thinking) 기법을 활용하여 70명의 모바일 커머스 사용자들에게 모바일 커머스 사용의 장단점에 대하여 인터뷰를 실시하였고 그 결과 738개의 문장을 수집하여 중복되는 내용을 제거하고 182개의 일반 형태를 추출하여 이를 다시 그룹화 하여 11개의 근본적인 목표들(fundamental objectives)과 18개의 중간 수단의 목표들(means objectives)로 분류하여, 최종 목표의 가치와 그것을 달성하는 데 필요한 수단 목표 가치를 체계화하여 수단-최종 목표 네트워크(means-ends network)를 도출하였다. 이러한 사용자의 관점에서 접근한 모바일 커머스의 가치 프레임웍은 학문적으로 뿐 아니라 실무에서도 유용한 구성 개념으로 고객이 기꺼이 지불할 의사가 있는 모바일 커머스 서비스의 관심사로서 향후 기업이 모바일 비즈니스에 추구할 수 있는 모바일 커머스의 기술 및 서비스 상품개발과 설계에 도움이 될 것이다.
