  • The purpose of this study was to achieve regarding the environmental problem due to excessive economic development for human being's continous life and to try to enhance the quality of life. The major findings of this study are as followings: 1) Environmental consciousness and activity are closely correlated and also postively related to quality of life. Accordingly, environmental consciousness should be inspired and the environmental activities performed successfully to enhance the quality of life so that we can lead higher quality of life. 2) Income takes the highest position in the life-influncing factor with the following sequence of environmental consciousness, preservation acitivity, housekeeper's education level and age. So, earlier and steady education are important in raising the education level to have people equipped with environmental consciousness and activity. Moreover, we should be able to create income through education to enhance the quality of life. Accordingly, we should take a positive measure for enhancing environmental preservation and quality of life to meet two solutions, such as mankind's continuous development and value-oriented life.

한국가족의 재산상속 의식에 관한연구 (A Study on the Consciousness of the Property Inheritance of the Korean Family)

  • The Purpose of this study is to clarify what a difference the individual family value and relationship make on the inheritance consciousness by focussing on right succeed property among the inheritances rights of family. Questionnaire were distributed to about 450 married person with children over 40 year and among them 384 cases are used in final analysis. Inheritance consciousness of the Korea family shows that the property inheritances to greatly different from the inheritance the family head rituals according to consciousness of the individuals. That is to say the succession of the property is decided by inheritances of the individuals where-as these of the family head and rituals are done by the family norm. such results tend to be made due th the fact that Koreans think of a duty to father a son and make him succeed th the heat of the family on the basis of the strong blood tie of the family that Koreans think t important to keep their family fame and to contain the fam ly existence I. e. they respect their patriarchal system.

  • We carried out this study for recognizing the staue of child inpatient nursing and providing child inpatient with better qualified nursing. We study this research from March 29, 93 to April 23, 93 to April 23, '93. First admission day in hospital, we ask 50 mothers of hospitalized child inpatient about the value of nursing and self-consciousness of mothers, also ask 10 nurse in charge about the satisfaction of tending child inpatient Two times-third admission day in hospital and leaving day, we inquired mothers the value of nursing of mothers by inquiry papers, each measurement was made up of five indexes. The result of research was as follow: 1. The subjects of research had following peculiarities. Average age : 2.5 years 0~ 1 years : 32.0% Baby girl : 56.0% first baby : 58.0% Experienced inpatient : 52.0% The number of hospitalization times was 1~2 times : 61. 5% The average period of hospitalization : 7 days Infected inpatient with respiratory organ disease : 40.0% The mother's average age of child inpatient : 30.5 years Mother's who finished high school : 90.9% Family that income about 600,000-700,000 won : 32.0% Mothers who belived an religion : 50.0% 2. As hospitalization time goes by, mothers gradually failed to recognize the value of nursing. 3. Self-estimated tending satisfactions have no connection with the value of nursing that mothers recognized. 4. The value of nursing was effected by mothers own personnality-salf-consciousness care, experience of hospitalization, academic background & religoin. So, we find out that the value of nursing had no connection with satisfaction of tending. Nurses must make every effort to provide child inpatient with nursing of good quality, that mothers confirm and nurses satisfy themselves. Also, we have to emphasize the importance of home and school education, because these education have a great influence upon mother s self-consciousness.

Effect of a Career Value Clarification Program on Career Consciousness Maturity and Career Decision-Making of Female College Students

  • 이 논문에서 우리는 진로가치명료화 프로그램이 여대생의 진로의식성숙과 진로의사결정에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 제안하고자 한다. 연구대상은 K여자대학교 70명을 대상으로 프로그램 사전·사후 검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 진로가치명료화 프로그램은 여대생의 진로의식성숙의 하위 요인 가운데 진로결정성, 진로관여성, 진로독립성, 진로성향성에서 유의한 차이를 보였으며, 진로의사결정의 하위 요인 가운데 합리적 유형에서 유의한 차이를 나타냈다. 이와 같은 결과는 진로가치명료화 프로그램이 여대생의 진로의식성숙과 진로의사결정에 통계적으로 유의미한 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여 준다. 여대생들의 진로의식성숙과 진로의사결정을 긍정적으로 향상시키기 위해서는 진로가치명료화 프로그램으로 지역사회에 여러 기관들을 방문하여 진로에 필요한 자격증과 활동들을 알고 실질적으로 진로준비를 할 수 있도록 도와야 할 것이다. 그리고 대학에서는 현장 전문가들을 적극적으로 초청하여 그 직업이 추구하는 가치가 무엇이고 어떤 일을 하는지를 알 수 있도록 기회를 제공해 주어야 할 것이다.

G-induced Loss of Consciousness(G-LOC) 예측을 위한 신체 부위별 Electromyogram(EMG) 신호 분석 (Analysis on Electromyogram(EMG) Signals by Body Parts for G-induced Loss of Consciousness(G-LOC) Prediction)

  • G-induced Loss of Consciousness(G-LOC) can be predicted by measuring Electromyogram(EMG) signals. Existing studies have mainly focused on specific body parts and lacked of consideration with quantitative EMG indices. The purpose of this study is to analyze the indices of EMG signals by human body parts for monitoring G-LOC condition. The data of seven EMG features such as Root Mean Square(RMS), Integrated Absolute Value(IAV), and Mean Absolute Value(MAV) for reflecting muscle contraction and Slope Sign Changes(SSC), Waveform Length (WL), Zero Crossing(ZC), and Median Frequency(MF) for representing muscle contraction and fatigue was retrieved from high G-training on a human centrifuge simulator. A total of 19 trainees out of 47 trainees of the Korean Air Force fell into G-LOC condition during the training in attaching EMG sensor to three body parts(neck, abdomen, calf). IAV, MAV, WL, and ZC under condition after G-LOC were decreased by 17 %, 17 %, 18 %, and 4 % comparing to those under condition before G-LOC respectively. Also, RMS, IAV, MAV, and WL in neck part under condition after G-LOC were higher than those under condition before G-LOC; while, those in abdomen and calf part lower. This study suggest that measurement of IAV and WL by attaching EMG sensor to calf part may be optimal for predicting G-LOC.

소비자 가치와 스포츠웨어 추구혜택 및 속성평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on Consumer's Value, Sportswear's Benefit Sought and Attribute Evaluation)

  • The purpose of this study were to investigate the relationships between consumer's value and sportswear's benefit sought/attribute evaluation, and to examine how sportswear's benefit sought were influenced by consumers' value and demographic variables. Subjects were 468 males and females in their teens to 30's in Seoul. Consumer's value was classified into four dimensions by using factors analysis: materialism, achievement orientation, traditionalism, and other consciousness. The value of materialism and achievement orientation had positive relations with brand orientation, fashion, appearance attraction, enterprise image, and brand advertisement of sportswear in both male and female. Achievement orientation had, in case of the male, positive relations with economics, practicality, fabrics, and quality of sportswear. In case of the female, traditionalism had positive relations with economics and practicality, and other consciousness value had positive relations with brand advertisement. Materialism was the most important in predicting brand orientation, followed by social class in both male and female. Age was the most important in predicting practicality, followed by achievement orientation in case of the male. Materialism(-) was, in case of the female, the most important in predicting practicality, followed by traditionalism, achievement orientation, and age.

미국 소비자의 건강관심도에 따른 패스트푸드 소비가치 차이에 관한 연구 (Consumption Values of Fast Food according to Health Consciousness in American Consumers)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the consumption values of fast foods among American consumers and compare the consumption values according to the levels of health consciousness. Methods: An online survey using a self-administered questionnaire was conducted on 351 American consumers. Based on the median health consciousness score (3.83 out of 5 points), the subjects were classified into the low health-conscious group (Low group) and the high health-conscious group (High group). Factor analysis was used to extract factors for the five consumption values (functional, social, emotional, conditional, and epistemic values). The differences in the consumption values between the two groups were analyzed. Results: A total of 14 factors were extracted for the five consumption values and 9 factors among them (convenience, healthiness, and taste in functional values; health-conscious people, young, busy, obese people, low class, and budget restricted people in social values; guilt in emotional values; accidental situations in conditional values) showed significant differences between the two groups. The Low group had a higher perception of the factor of healthiness (P < 0.001) than the High group. The High group had a relatively higher perception of the factors of convenience (P < 0.001), taste (P < 0.001), and guilt (P < 0.001). In addition, the High group perceived the social values of fast foods more negatively. The High group consumed fast foods less frequently than the Low group and perceived their health status and healthiness of eating habits more positively. Conclusions: The results reveal that the health consciousness level significantly influences consumption value perceptions about fast foods in American consumers. Policymakers and marketers can develop effective strategies based on the results of this study.

가족주의 가치관에 따른 한국인의 복지의식 연구 : 서울지역 기혼자를 중심으로 (Familism and Welfare Consciousness in Korea)

  • 본 연구는 한국인 대부분이 공유하고 있는 전통적 가치관이라고 알려진 가족주의 가치관이 한국인으로 하여금 복지제도와 복지정책에 대한 인식을 갖게 하는데 어떤 관련이 있는가에 대한 연구이다. 가족간의 결속력이 유난히 강하고 가족중심적인 사고가 모든 사회관계에서도 지배적으로 자리잡고 있는 한국사회에서의 가족주의 가치관은 다른 가치관이나 이념 및 의식을 구축하는데 영향을 미치는 것으로 여겨지고 있다. 특히 가족이 그 구성원을 돌보고 양육, 부양하는 것을 당연한 의무와 책임으로 여기고 있는 가족주의적 사고가 복지의식을 형성하고 구체화하며, 복지국가 형태의 수준을 갖게 하는데 제한을 가한다는 비판의 소리가 높다. 이에 본 연구에서는 한국인의 복지의식을 전통적 가족주의 가치관과의 관련성 속에서 재조명해보고 그 특성을 파악하고자 하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 분석을 위하여 서울지역의 기혼 여성과 남성을 체계적 층화표집과 할당표집으로 표본추출하였으며, 총 1,131명이 분석대상이 되었다. 분석결과 한국인의 복지의식은 가족주의 가치관과 많은 관련이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 복지제도에 관한 인식에서 가족주의 가치관은 부적 관계를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 가족주의 가치관이 낮은 집단에서 복지제도 인식이 높게 나타난 것이다. 복지책임주체에 관해서는 가난한 사람과 노인영역에서는 가족주의 가치관이 높은 경우 가족책임 성향도 높게, 그리고 장애인과 실업자의 경우에는 가족주의 가치관이 낮은 경우 정부책임 성향을 높게 지적하였다. 그러나 복지정책 욕구에서만은 가족주의 가치관이 낮은 경우 정부책임 성향을 높게 지적하였다. 그러나 복지정책 욕구에서만은 가족주의 가치관의 관련성이 뚜렷이 나타나지 않았다. 가족주의가 높은 집단에서조차 복지정책 욕구가 크게 보여졌다. 이 같은 결과는 가족주의 가치관이 한국인들의 복지의식에 영향을 주는 개념으로 자리잡고 있다는 결론을 내리게 하며, 그럼에도 불구하고 이 전통적 사고가 국가의 복지제공 의무를 회피하는 수단으로서가 아니라 오히려 가족의 기능을 긍정적으로 강화하는 기제로 활용되어야 하는 정책적 함의를 제공한다. 이는 한국인에 맞는 복지모형의 개발을 시사한다.

기성세대와 대학생의 가족생활에 대한 가치의식 비교연구 (A Comparative Study on Value Orientation about Family Life between the Older Generations and College Students.)

  • The purpose of this study is to clarify the value orientation about family life between the older generations and college student. For this purpose, questionnaire were distributed to the older generations and college students in Seoul. Among them 920 data were obtained To obtain the family value scale, item analysis through pearson's correlation and factor analysis were used in pretest, frequency distribution, percentile, mean , t-test , and step-wise multiple were used for data analysis. The results are summarized as follows. 1) Male college students show traditional tendency and female college students show modern tendency especially sex-role attitude, ancestor worship attitude, patriarchy attitude. 2) Male and female of the older generations how traditional tendency. 3) The older generations show traditional tendency, college students show modern tendency, especially sex-role attitude and kinship attitude. 4) Male adults and male college students show traditional tendency. 5) Female adults show traditional tendency , female college students show modern tendency. In female, generation gap is more serious than males. 6) the most influencial socio-demographic variables on family value consciousness of the older generations are the religion and education, In case of college students, sex, major, religion, family income grown-up area effect on their value consciousness about family life, Based on the above findings , we should develop school education and many social programs to reduce the generation gap.

Personality-Culture Interaction as a Predictor of Emotion Suppression on Facebook

  • Although personality and culture have been employed as independent predictors of emotion regulation, less is known about the interplay between them. Thus, the present study tests their interaction by focusing on the match between personality (public self-consciousness) and culture (valuing independence vs. interdependence) in modulating an emotion regulation strategy, namely, emotion suppression, on Facebook. Furthermore, relationship concern related to the expression of positive and negative emotions on Facebook is explored as a potential underlying mechanism. An online survey on Facebook users in the United States (n = 320) and South Korea (n = 336) was conducted through two professional survey companies. The results revealed that the positive association between public self-consciousness and emotion suppression was stronger among respondents who value interdependence (vs. independence), which led to a significant interaction between the two predictors. Furthermore, public self-consciousness was associated with emotion suppression through relationship concern for the expression of positive, but not negative, emotions. Furthermore, this mediated relationship was stronger among respondents who value interdependence (vs. independence). Lastly, the study discussed the importance of exploring the interplay between personality and culture and the implication of dialectic emotions.
