  • In this paper voltage source inverter(VSI)-fed induction motor vector control system is controlled by a derived model tracking controller. The system analysis is discussed from the viewpoints of ideal vector control, adoption of model tracking controller and derivation of linear model. Furthermore, the result is obtained by the model-tracking control compare with that of P-I, I-P control.

  • 본 논문에서는 산간벽지 또는 낙도와 같이 중앙계통으로부터 송 배전선을 이용한 전력공급이 어려운 약 계통(Weak grid)에 주로 사용되는 계통연계형 분산전원시스템의 설계 방법을 설명한다. Weak grid에서는 계통의 전압변동의 폭이 매우 크기 때문에 부하에 안정적으로 정전압을 공급할 수 있는 전압제어형 전압원인버터(VCVSI: Voltage-Controlled Voltage Source Inverter)를 주로 사용한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 계통의 전압에 변동에 따른 각각의 시스템 파라미터 특성을 분석하고 이에 따른 최적의 시스템 용량의 선정방법을 제시한다.

  • In this paper, control scheme of the three phase VSI(Voltage Source Inverter) for 200KVA UPS is described. The proposed controller is designed to robust against parameter variations, disturbances and load change using PI controller. The switching pattern is determined to Ramp Comparison Method. The inverter provides pure sinusoidal output voltage with very low THD (Total Harmonic Distortion). Finally, the performance of the proposed inverter is shown by experimental result.

  • Traction Motor is being transferred to the squirrel cage induction motor from D.C motor, by the improved power semiconductors like GTO, IGBT, etc. In the Induction Motor, inverter system must be used for delivering variable voltage variable frequency. But, by pulsating in the system the harmonics would be produced, and that cause the torque ripple and enfeeble the dynamic characteristics of the motor. So, to use the inverter system, we should take the torque ripple into consideration. To minimize the torque ripple in the VSI fed Traction Motor, the optimal pulsating was presented in this paper. By using the SPWM(Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation) method, feeding the appropriate pulse, we can minimize the torque ripple and improve the transient response.

  • The a PWM VSI, the voltage distortion exists between the reference and output voltage. This distortion is caused by the intended blanking time and the inherent characteristics of the switching devices which are function of the operating condition.   • The paper addresses modeling and analysis of a grid-connected photovoltaic generation system (PV system). PSCAD/EMIDC. an industry standard simulation tool for studying the transient behavior of electric power system and apparatus. is used to conduct all aspects of model implementation and to carry out extensive simulation study. An equivalent circuit model of a solar cell has been used for modeling solar array. A PWM voltage source inverter (VSI) and its current control scheme have been implemented. A maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique is employed for drawing the maximum available energy from the PV array. Comprehensive simulation results are presented to examine PV array behaviors and PV system control performance in response to irradiation changes. In addition, dynamic responses of PV array and system to network fault conditions are simulated and analysed

  • Traditional statistical process control(SPC) applied to discrete part industry in the form of control charts can look for and eliminate assignable causes by process monitoring. On the other hand, engineering process control(EPC) applied to the process industry in the form of feedback control can maintain the process output on the target by continual adjustment of input variable. This study presents controlling and monitoring rules adopted variable sampling interval(VSI) to change sampling intervals in a predetermined fashion on the predicted process levels for integrated EPC and SPC systems. Twelve rules classified by EPC schemes(MMSE, constrained PI, bounded or deadband adjustment policy) and type of sampling interval combined with EWMA chart of SPC are proposed under IMA(1,1) disturbance model and zero-order (responsive) dynamic system. The properties of twelve control rules under three patterns of process change(sudden shift, drift and random shift) are evaluated and discussed through simulation and control rules for integrated VSI EPC and SPC systems are recommended.

  • 본 논문에서는 분산전원용 UPQC(Unified Power Quality Conditioner)에 사용되는 스위칭 알고리즘으로 PRT 기반 전압/제어 알고리즘을 적용한다. 분산전원용 UPQC는 전압제어형전압원인버터(VCVSI:Voltage-Controlled VSI)와 전류제어형전압원인버터(CCVSI:Current-Controlled VSI)를 계통과 직 병렬로 연결한 형태로 PRT 전압/전류 제어 알고리즘을 구동 알고리즘으로 사용하게 되면 회로 구성이 간단하고 제어가 용이한 장점이 있다. 본 논문에서는 PRT 기반 전압/전류 알고리즘을 UPQC에 적용하는 방법을 설명하고, 이의 유용성을 확인하기 위해 시뮬레이션을 수행하였다.

A New Approach for Constant DC Link Voltage in a Direct Drive Variable Speed Wind Energy Conversion System

  • Due to the high efficiency and compact mechanical structure, direct drive variable speed generators are used for power conversion in wind turbines. The wind energy conversion system (WECS) considered in this paper consists of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG), uncontrolled rectifier, dc-dc boost converter controlled with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) and adaptive hysteresis controlled voltage source inverter (VSI). For high utilization of the converter's power capability and stabilizing voltage and power flow, constant DC-link voltage is essential. Step and search MPPT algorithm which senses the rectified voltage ($V_{DC}$) alone and controls the same is used to effectively maximize the output power. The adaptive hysteresis band current control is characterized by fast dynamic response and constant switching frequency. With MPPT and adaptive hysteresis band current control in VSI, the DC link voltage is maintained constant under variable wind speeds and transient grid currents respectively.

A Simplified Modulation Strategy for Three-leg Voltage Source Inverter Fed Unsymmetrical Two-winding Induction Motor

  • This paper presents a simplified modulation strategy for the three-leg VSI fed two-winding induction motor. The strategy provides independent unbalanced voltage control for the main and auxiliary windings. This make the motor can be reversed rotation through the range of motor speed operation without limitation of voltage boost of the auxiliary winding. To study the advantages of the proposed drive, the experimental results such as voltage stresses, hysteresis band of the currents in locus, and also acoustic noise levels of the three-leg VSI are compared with those of the conventional two-leg topology. The results obviously show that the proposed technique achieves superior performance compared with the traditional scheme in case of dramatic increase of DC bus utilization, effective reduction of harmonic voltages content, and also significant enhancement of motor efficiency.
