  • Network virtualization enables autonomous and heterogeneous Virtual Networks (VNs) to co-exist on a shared physical substrate. In a Network Virtualization Environment (NVE), the fact that individual VNs are underpinned by diverse naming mechanisms brings about an obvious challenge for transparent communication across multiple VN domains due to the complexity of uniquely identifying users. Existing solutions were mainly proposed compatible to Internet paradigm with little consideration of their applications in a virtualized environment. This calls for a scalable and efficient naming framework to enable consistent communication across a large user population (fixed or mobile) hosted by multiple VNs. This paper highlights the underlying technical requirements and presents a scalable Global Naming Framework (GNF), which (1) enables transparent communication across multiple VNs owned by the same or different SPs; (2) supports communication in the presence of dynamics induced from both VN and end users; and (3) greatly reduces the network operational complexity (space and time). The suggested approach is assessed through extensive simulation experiments for a range of network scenarios. The numerical result clearly verifies its effectiveness and scalability which enables its application in a large-scale NVE without significant deployment and management hurdles.

  • The complementary DNA (cDNA) of potato virus Y- vein necrosis strain (PVY-VN) replicase gene (Nlb) was transformed into tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum cv. Burley 21) plants. Out of 25 putative transformants regenerated, 3 were resistant to PVY-VN, one highly resistant plant with no symptom until seed harvest time and the other two with mild chlorotic spot symptoms at late stages after infection. No symptom was observed in the highly resistant plant, while mild vein necrotic symptoms were developed on suckers of the moderately resistant plants after seed harvest time, In the first generation (T1) via self fertilization, resistance to susceptibility frequency in transgenic plants from the highly resistant transformant was about 3 : 1, while it was lowered much (about 1:2 and 1:19) in T1 of the moderately resistant transformants. In the second generation (T2) of the highly resistant plant, resistance frequencies were similar to T1, but resistance levels varied greatly and appeared to be decreased. Key words : potato virus Y, viral replicate gene, transgenic tobacco plants, resistance.

  • Effect of the two PVY strains(PVY-VB and PVY-VN) on yield and chemical constituents of tobacco plants was determined in roar. NC2326 and Burley 21. The virus was inoculated 6 and 8 weeks after transplanting, respectively. The strains and time of inoculation were most critical factors for yield reduction. The greatest reduction was caused by the necrotic strain (PVY-VN) inoculated 6 weeks after transplanting, accounting for the loss of 40% in var. NC2326 and of 45% in var.. Burley21. When inoculated 8 weeks after transplanting with the necrotic strain, only 17% reduction was recorded in roar. Burley21, but no reduction occurred in roar. NC2326. Generally less reduction was caused by the PVY-VB strain, ranging 12-16% depending on the time of inoculation and/or variety. Compared to healthy tobacco, PVY infected tobacco contained higher concentrations of total nitrogen, protein nitrogen, nitrate nitrogen, and lower total sugar in cured leaf of roar. NC2326. Total alkaloid, P, Mg, Ca, and K levels were not altered. In var. Burley21, protein nitrogen and nitrate nitrogen increased, but other chemical components were not changed. Necrotic strain-infected tobacco with a severe symptom had higher nitrogen than did mild strain-infected tobacco.

  • This study was carried out to provide the fundamental information for development of proper vaccination program against infectious bursal disease(IBD) to the local chicken farms. The antigen detection was peformed from 8 samples of bursa of Fabricius with agar gel precipitation(AGP) and indirect immunofluorescent assay(IFA), And also, the antibodies in serum samples were detected by the various serological methods such as commercial ELISA assay, AGP and virus neutralization(VN) test. 1. The antigen detection rates were 25% for AGP which is 2 out of 8 farms and 10 out of 40 bursas, and 25% which Is 2 out of 8 farms and 20% 8 out of 40 bursas for IFA, respectively. 2. The mean titer of maternal antibody (>3,000) existed until 10 days of the age with ELISA-GMT. 3. The antibody positive rates which are over 80% showed until 5 days of the age with ELISA and at 10 days of the age with AGP except one, but none of them showed from 1 day of the age. This report came to conclusions that both the protective maternal antibody titers and the antigen positive rates were significant until at the 10 days of the age.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare the ability of an engineered Escherichia coli to degrade chlorpyrifos (Cp) using an organophosphorus hydrolase enzyme, encoded in both Flavobacterium sp. ATCC 27551 or Pseudomonas diminuta, by employing the Lpp-OmpA chimera and the N-terminal domain of the ice nucleation protein as anchoring motifs. Tracing of the expression location of the recombinant protein using SDS-PAGE showed the presentation of OPH by both anchors on the outer membrane. This is the first report on the presentation of OPH on the cell surface by Lpp-OmpA under the control of the T7 promoter. The results showed cell growth in the presence of Cp as the sole source of energy, without growth inhibition, and with higher whole-cell activity for both cells harboring plasmids pENVO and pELMO, at approximately 10,342.85 and 10,857.14 U/mg, respectively. Noticeably, the protein displayed by pELMO was lower than the protein displayed by pENVO. It can be concluded that Lpp-OmpA can display less protein, but more functional OPH protein. These results highlight the high potential, of both engineered bacteria, for use in the bioremediation of pesticide-contaminated sources in the environment.

  • A hardware architecture is presented to decode (N, K) polar codes based on a low-density parity-check code-like decoding method. By applying suitable pruning techniques to the dense graph of the polar code, the decoder architectures are optimized using fewer check nodes (CN) and variable nodes (VN). Pipelining is introduced in the CN and VN architectures, reducing the critical path delay. Latency is reduced further by a fully parallelized, single-stage architecture compared with the log N stages in the conventional belief propagation (BP) decoder. The designed decoder for short-to-intermediate code lengths was implemented using the Virtex-7 field-programmable gate array (FPGA). It achieved a throughput of 2.44 Gbps, which is four times and 1.4 times higher than those of the fast-simplified successive cancellation and combinational decoders, respectively. The proposed decoder for the (1024, 512) polar code yielded a negligible bit error rate of 10-4 at 2.7 Eb/No (dB). It converged faster than the BP decoding scheme on a dense parity-check matrix. Moreover, the proposed decoder is also implemented using the Xilinx ultra-scale FPGA and verified with the fifth generation new radio physical downlink control channel specification. The superior error-correcting performance and better hardware efficiency makes our decoder a suitable alternative to the successive cancellation list decoders used in 5G wireless communication.

  • Potato virus Y (PVY) distribution, areas where the virus occurred, and incidence, Percentage of plants infected, on burley tobacco in Korea was surveyed in 1982. Most of the fields Investigated were infected with PVY. The virus incidence was 12.5%. District)union and incidence generally were sporadic, but Onyang, Hongseung and Iksan area virus incidence was higher than that of other areas. For strain identification, approximately 95% was nonnecrotic (PVY-VB) and 5olo necrotic strain (PVY-VN) .

  • We provide another unified proof that $A_{\gamma}(G)$ and $A_{\Delta}(G)$ are Banach algebras for a compact group G, where $A_{\gamma}(G)$ and $A_{\Delta}(G)$ are images of the convolution and the twisted convolution, respectively, on $A(G{\times}G)$. Our new approach heavily depends on analysis of co-multiplication on VN(G), the group von-Neumann algebra of G.
