In this paper, the dispersion characteristics of elastic waves propagation in sandwich nano-beams with functionally graded (FG) face-sheets reinforced with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is investigated based on various high order shear deformation beam theories (HOSDBTs) as well as nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT). In order to align CNTs as symmetric and asymmetric in top and bottom face-sheets with respect to neutral geometric axis of the sandwich nano-beam, various patterns are employed in this analysis. The sandwich nano-beam resting on Pasternak foundation is subjected to thermal, magnetic and electrical fields. In order to involve small scale parameter in governing equations, the NSGT is employed for this analysis. The governing equations of motion are derived using Hamilton's principle based on various HSDBTs. Then the governing equations are solved using analytical method. A detailed parametric study is conducted to study the effects of length scale parameter, different HSDBTs, the nonlocal parameter, various aligning of CNTs in thickness direction of face-sheets, different volume fraction of CNTs, foundation stiffness, applied voltage, magnetic intensity field and temperature change on the wave propagation characteristics of sandwich nano-beam. Also cut-off frequency and phase velocity are investigated in detail. According to results obtained, UU and VA patterns have the same cut-off frequency value but AV pattern has the lower value with respect to them.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of balancing interference on the mandibular movement and masticatory muscle activity. 5 subjects(male. average age of 24.3) without dysfuction in masticatory system were selected. The balancing interference was provided by construction of cast metal crown and onlay on the upper and lower first molars. Clinical examination, changes displacement and velocity, and muscle activity were recorded and analyzed by means of BioPak system(Bioresearch Inc., Milwaukee Wisconsin. USA). The results were as follows ; 1. In clinical examination, various symptoms were reported by all subjects after application of interference. Almost symptoms were subsided after elimination of interference. 2. In the border movements in frontal plane, lateral border movement toward non-interference side was changed according to the interference after application of interference. Immediately after removal of interference, border movements' pattern was recovered as same as before experiment. 3. During gum chewing on the non-interference side, horizontal movement was decreased immediately after application of interference(p<0.05). 1 week after application of interference, horizontal movement was more decreased in 3 subjects and showed a chopping type masticatory stroke. But in 2subjects, horizontal movement was increased to avoid interference. 4. In EMG of the mandibular rest position, no significant changes were showed in the experiment period(p>0.05). 5. During gum chewing on the interference side, the activity of opposite temporal muscle was increased immediately after application of interference(p<0.05). 1 week after application of interference. The activity of ipsilateral temporal muscle and left and right masseter muscles was increased (p<0.05). 1 week after elimination of interference, increased muscle activity was recovered about the same level as before experiment. 6. During gum chewing on the non-interference side, 1 week after application of interference, the activity of ipsilateral temporal muscle was increased (p<0.05). 1 week after elimination of interference. increased muscle activity was returned about the same level as before experiment.

This study was conducted to investigate whether mat exercise and field exercise have effectiveness on the balance and gait in older adults. Thirty subjects were participated in this study. And they were all randomly divided into mat exercise and field exercise group. To evaluate the effects of mat and field exercise, subjects were evaluated by using One Leg Stand test which was static balance test, and Berg Balance test which was dynamic balance test. Finally Gait pattern was assessed by using 3-dimensional gait analysis system. The assessment parameters were evaluated before, after 3 weeks, and after 6 weeks treatments. And we received a consent form from all subjects. The results of repeated measures analysis of variance showed that One Leg Stand, Berg Balance, Stride length, Cadence, Velocity were significantly increased after than before exercise in both groups. So we conclude that therapeutic exercise that is mat and field exercise has effectiveness on the balance and gait in older adults.

Ultrasonic backward radiation profile is frequency-dependent when the incident region has deptional gradient of acoustical properties or multi-layers. Until now, we have measured the profiles of principal frequencies of an used transducers so that it was not easy to characterize the frequency dependence of the SAW(surface acoustic wave) from the backward radiation profile. We tried to measure the spectral backward radiation profiles using DFP(digital filer package) in a Lecroy DSO(digital storage oscilloscope). The measured spectral profiles showed that the steel specimen of #1200 surface treatment have 2% SAW velocity dispersion of the loaded case and the severly rusty steel specimen have the very big changes in the shape and pattern of the spectral profile. It is concluded that the spectral backward radiation profiles could be very effective tool to evaluate the frequency dependence of surface area.
The applied model for this study area is WINFLOW using mite element method, It is thought that the simulation result by WINFLOW model under the steady flow state reflects well the ground water distribution within the reliability level which shows the error range of 1.1% to 8.0% from the comparison between the computed values and the observed, and analyzed that the constant head distribution is shown along the east-west direction and gentle and stable head gradient along the north-south direction. Ground water of the study area shows stable movement from the south to the stream area, and the particle trace for each location shows relatively linear shape from the upstream to the pumping location while the radius of influence according to the pumping amount shows a significant difference at the down stream area from the pumping location. The simultaneous pumping from P and P1 shows more complicated appearance, not the increase of the radius of influence than pumping from a single well P or P1, and it is analyzed that the particle path takes nearly linear form. It is known that the flow direction of the ground water and the velocity of the flow affect on the magnitude of the radius of influence of the wells from the fact that the more decreasing pattern of the ground water head is observed at the side of the well and the down stream area than the upstream area when the ground water moves from south to north regarding the radius of influence according to the pumping amount. Satisfactory results in analyses of ground water movement are obtained through the significant reduction of the physical uncertainties in the flow system as well as the relatively convenient model application using WINFLOW model which is proposed in this study.

Clustering is one of important data mining techniques known as exploratory data analysis and is being applied in various engineering and scientific fields such as pattern recognition, remote sensing, and so on. The method organizes data by abstracting underlying structure either as a grouping of individuals or as a hierarchy of groups. Weather radar observes atmospheric objects by utilizing reflected signals and stores observed data in corresponding coordinate. To analyze the radar data, it is needed to be separately organized precipitation and non-precipitation echo based on similarities. Thus, this paper studies to apply clustering method to radar data. In addition, in order to solve the problem when precipitation echo locates close to non-precipitation echo, fuzzy logic based clustering method which can consider both distance and other properties such as reflectivity and Doppler velocity is suggested in this paper. By using actual cases, the suggested clustering method derives better results than previous method in near-located precipitation and non-precipitation echo case.

Deposition condition of YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) films on moving IBAD templates (CeO$_2$/IBAD-YSZ/SS) was studied in a hot-wall type metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) process using single liquid source. The reel velocity was 40 cm/hr and the source mole ratios of Y(tmhd)$_3$:Ba(tmhd)$_2$:Cu(tmhd)$_2$ were 1:2.3:3.1 and 1:2.1:2,9, Two different types of IBAD templates with thin CeO$_2$ and thick CeO$_2$ layers were used, The YBCO films were successfully deposited at the deposition temperatures of 780~89$0^{\circ}C$ ; the a-axis growth was observed together with the c-axis growth up to 83$0^{\circ}C$. while the c-axis growth became dominant above 83$0^{\circ}C$. The top surface of the c-axis film was fairly dense and included a small amount of the a-axis growth, although the peaks of the a-axis grains were not observed in XRD pattern, The YBCO film deposited on IBAD template with thin CeO$_2$ layer showed low critical current of 2.5 A/cm-width. while the YBCO film deposited on IBAD template with thick CeO$_2$ layer showed higher critical current of 50 A/cm-width. This result indicates that thick CeO$_2$ layer is thermally more stable than thin CeO$_2$ layer at the high deposition temperature of the MOCVD process.s.

Circulation phenamena in open channel with abrupt variation in flow section are studied by solving numerically two dimensional Navier-Stokes equations integrated over depth. Galerkin type finite element method is used as numerical scheme. Numerical results by both implicit and explicit schemes tested in one-demensional rectangular channel agree closely with the known solution. The numerical experiments carded out in the open channel with a pool indicate the expected flow pattern and the center of the circulation coincides with the geometrical center, but the vectors of velocity appear father small, and it remains to be further investigated. Numerically simulated flow profiles along the channel with constrictions such as bridge piers and abutments are shown to be close to hydraulic experimental results. Thus further refined numerical technique is expected to be able to serve as a tool to evaluate the effect of bridge backwater.
Backgrounds and objectives: POEMS (polyneuropathy, organomegaly, endocrinopathy, M protein, and skin changes) syndrome is the rare cause of polyneuropathy. Although the polyneuropathy is essential for the diagnosis of the disease, the pattern of electrodiagnostic abnormalities has not been characterized in detail. The purpose of this study was to elucidate the features of nerve conduction abnormalities in POEMS syndrome. Methods: We reviewed the medical records and nerve conduction studies (NCS) of 12 consecutive patients with POEMS. Results: A total of 68 motor and 46 sensory nerves were examined. Compound muscle action potentials (CMAPs) and sensory nerve action potentials were abnormally attenuated or not elicited in majority of motor and sensory nerves (80.88% in motor, and 82.6% in sensory nerves). Frequency of the nerves with no potential was significantly higher in lower limbs than in upper limbs (p<0.01 in both motor and sensory nerves), and CMAP amplitude was more reduced in lower limbs than in upper limbs (p<0.01). Conduction slowing was very frequently observed with 95% and 76% of motor and sensory nerves, respectively, having the abnormally reduced values of conduction velocity. Distal motor latencies were abnormally prolonged in 75% of motor nerves, and terminal latency indices were significantly higher in patients than in normal controls (p < 0.05). Conduction block was observed only in 5% of motor nerves. Conclusions: NCS in POEMS syndrome showed characteristic patterns, in which conduction abnormalities were more frequently and severely affected in the lower limbs, and more predominantly in the intermediate nerve segments than in the distal portions. The recognition of these characteristic patterns may be helpful in early diagnosis of polyneuropathy in POEMS syndrome.
In this study, we analyzed the $CH_4$and $C_4$$H_{10}$ sensitivity measurement and voltage variation using catalytic type gas sensor characteristics in catalytic combustion type gas detecter sensors. Gas detector shall operate as intended when exposed for 24 hours to air having a relative humidity of 65 percent at a temperature of $20^{\circ}c$ and humidity of 85 percent at a temperature of $40^{\circ}c$. The gas detecter sensors are to be subjected to operation for 210 days in an area that has been determined to be equivalent to a typical residential atmosphere with an air velocity of 50 cm/sec. The source of energy for a gas detector sensors employing a supplementary basic circuit is energized from a seperate source of supply direct applied voltage 2.1V, 2.2V, 2.3V. As a result, it was confirmed that the relative humidity and temperature by regression each analysis, compared to the isobutane characteristic graph and methane characteristic graph by a relative humidity of 65% and 85% at a temperature($20^{\circ}c$, $40^{\circ}c$) show a similar linear pattern on the whore.
