  • 전기자동차 (EV)에서 구동용 모터의 토크 제어를 위한 인버터에는 제어 연산 및 고장 진단 기능을 수행하기 위한 MCU가 있으며, MCU는 상위 제어기 차량 제어 유닛 (VCU)에게 현재 모터 및 인버터의 상태를 주기적으로 전달하고, 현재 차량 주행에 적합한 토크 지령을 받아 토크 제어를 수행하게 된다. 이를 위해 MCU는 전류, 전압 및 위치 센서의 값을 읽어 제어를 수행하게 되며, 제어의 결과 값으로 pulse width modulation (PWM)을 생성하여 이를 통해 모터에 전압을 공급하게 된다. 즉 차량의 구동에 있어 PWM 신호는 가장 중요한 부분이다. 하지만 생산 불량 또는 진동에 의한 납땜 불량 또는 MCU 전원 고장 등으로 MCU에 고장이 발생하게 되면 이상 PWM을 생성하게 되고 정상적인 토크 제어가 불가능해진다. 이때 안전하게 EV를 정지 시키는 알고리즘이 필요하게 되며, 이를 수행 할 supervisor control unit (SCU)가 인버터 컨트롤 보드에 추가되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 고속으로 주행하던 차량에서 메인 MCU가 고장 날 경우에 안전하게 EV를 정차시키는 방법에 대해 다루었다.

Evaluation of canalis basilaris medianus using cone-beam computed tomography

  • The aim of this report is to present two cases of canalis basilaris medianus as identified on cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in the base of the skull. The CBCT data sets were sent for radiographic consultation. In both cases, multi-planar views revealed an osseous defect in the base of the skull in the clivus region, the sagittal view showed a unilateral, well-defined, non-corticated, track-like low-attenuation osseous defect in the clivus. The appearance of the defect was highly reminiscent of a fracture of the clivus. The borders of osseous defect were smooth, and no other radiographic signs suggestive of osteolytic destructive processes were noted. Based on the overall radiographic examination, a radiographic impression of canalis basilaris medianus was made. Canalis basilaris medianus is a rare anatomical variant and is generally observed on the clivus. Due to its potential association with meningitis, it should be recognized and reported to avoid potential complications.

A Study on the Electrical and Electronic Architecture of Electric Vehicle Powertrain Domain through Big Data Analysis (빅데이터 분석을 통한 전기차 파워트레인 도메인 전기전자 아키텍처 연구)

  • Purpose The purpose of this study is to select the electronic architecture concept of the powertrain domain of the electronic platform to be applied to electric vehicles after 2025. Previously, the automotive electrical and electronic architecture was determined only by trend analysis, but the purpose was to determine the scenario based on the data and select it with clear evaluation indicators. Design/methodology/approach This study identified the function to be applied to the powertrain domain of next-generation electric vehicle, estimated the controller, defined the function feature list, organized the scenario candidates with the controller list and function feature list, and selected the final architecture scenario. Findings According to the research results, the powertrain domain of electric vehicles was selected as the architectural concept to apply the DCU (Domain Control Unit) and VCU (Vehicle Control Unit) integrated architecture to next-generation electric vehicles. Although it is disadvantageous or equivalent in terms of cost, it was found to be excellent in most indicators such as stability, security, and hardware demand.

Neutralization of Vowels /ɨ/ and /u/ after a Labial Consonant in Korean: A Cross-generational Study

  • This study investigated whether Korean vowels, /ɨ/ and /u/, are distinctively perceived after a labial consonant given the fact that native and Sino-Korean nouns showed only vowel /u/ after a labial consonant while this pattern was massively broken by the recent introduction of loanwords. For this purpose, a perception experiment was conducted with $V_1C_1V_2$ sequences in which different vowels /a, i, u/ and consonants /p, t, k/ occurred in $V_1$ and $C_1$ before the target $V_2$, /ɨ/ and /u/. The data was produced by six speakers each from two different age groups, Age20 and Age40/50 in the read speech style. The results showed that consonant /p/ attracted significantly more responses of /u/ from /VCɨ/ sequences and significantly less responses of /u/ from /VCu/ sequence than the other consonants did in both age groups. Furthermore, Age20 group showed significantly less percentage of /u/ responses than Age40 group when the preceding consonant was /p/ regardless of the target vowel. We suggest therefore that unlike the traditional belief of labial assimilation, there is neutralization after a labial consonant in which vowels /ɨ/ and /u/ are often realized as any sound between two vowels, /ɨ/ and /u/. That is, this vowel change is not categorial but it rather produces an ambiguous stimulus which attracts different responses from different listeners. Ambiguous stimulus was produced due to coarticulatory efforts in speech production and perceptual compensation. We also argue that there is generational difference such that Age40/50 group speakers showed stronger tendency to produce /u/ after a labial consonant regardless of whether the target vowel was /ɨ/ or /u/.

Communication Method for Torque Control of Commercial Diesel Engine in Range-Extended Electric Trash Truck (주행거리 연장형 청소용 전기자동차에 장착된 상용 디젤엔진의 토크제어를 위한 통신 방안)

  • This paper describes new communication methods for transmitting torque commands between the vehicle controller that determines the amount of power generation in a range-extended electric vehicle and the engine controller that performs it. Generally, vehicles use CAN communication, but in this case, the hardware and software of the existing engine controller must be modified. For this reason, it is not easy to apply CAN communication to small and medium sized automotive reorganize companies. Therefore, this research presents a pin-pin communication method for applying the existing mass produced engine controller to range-extended electric vehicles. The pin-pin communication method converts the driver's demand torque control map inside an mass produced engine controller into a virtual accelerator opening position according to the target speed and target torque of the engine, and converts this to a voltage signal for the existing mass produced engine controller to recognize it. The virtual accelerator opening positions are mounted in the form of a control map in the vehicle controller through the reverse conversion process in an offline environment and are determined by the engine generating power requirements and engine optimal operating point algorithm. These algorithms and signal conversion circuits for engine torque transmission have been mounted on the vehicle controller to conduct the virtual accelerator opening position conversion process according to the engine target torque and to establish the virtual accelerator voltage signal using the signal converter.

Predictive Efficacy of Radioisotope Voiding Cystography for Renal Outcome (방사성동위원소 배뇨방광촬영술의 신장예후 예측성능)

  • Purpose: As vesicoureteral reflux (VUR) could lead to renal functional deterioration when combined with urinary tract infection, we need to decide whether operative anti-reflux treatment should be performed at the time of diagnosis of VUR. Predictive value of radioisotope voiding cystography (RIVCG) for renal outcome was tested. Materials and Methods: In 35 children (18 males, 17 females), radiologic voiding cystoure-thrography (VCU), RIVCG and DMSA scan were performed. Change in renal function was evaluated using the follow-up DMSA scan, ultrasonography, and clinical information. Discriminant analysis was performed using individual or integrated variables such as reflux amount and extent at each phase of voiding on RIVCG, in addition to age, gender and cortical defect on DMSA scan at the time of diagnosis. Discriminant function was composed and its performance was examined. Results: Reflux extent at the filling phase and reflux amount and extent at postvoiding phase had a significant prognostic value. Total reflux amount was a composite variable to predict prognosis. Discriminant function composed of reflux extent at the filling phase and reflux amount and extent at postvoiding phase showed better positive predictive value and specificity than conventional reflux grading. Conclusion: RIVCG could predict renal outcome by disclosing characteristic reflux pattern during various voiding phases.
