This study has focused on the possibility for recycling of tailings from the Sangdong tungsten mine as powder(TA) of self-compacting concrete(SCC). The experimental tests for slump-flow, time required to reach 500 mm of slump flow(sec), time required to flow through V-funnel(sec) and filling height of U-box test(mm) were carried out in accordance with the specified by the Japanese Society of Civil Engineering(JSCE). The results of this study, slump-flow of SCC was satisfied a prescribed range. And time required to reach 500 mm of slump flow(sec) and time required to flow through V-funnel(sec) decreased with increasing replacement of TA. But filling height of U-box test(mm), replacement of TA up to 30% were satisfied a prescribed range. The mechanical properties including compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and elastic modulus were checked with the requirements specified by Korean Industrial Standards(KS). The compressive strength of SCC decreased with increasing replacement of TA, splitting tensile strength and elastic modulus were similar to those of normal concrete. The fundamental durability was reviewed through the dry shrinkage rate and accelerated carbonation tests. As the result dry shrinkage rate and accelerated carbonation depth increased with increasing replacement of TA.

This research presents the results of the strength and drying shrinkage properties to study the effect of ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBFS), fly ash(FA) and calcium sulfoaluminate(CSA) for activated ternary blended slag cement. The activated ternary blended cement(ATBC) mortar were prepared having a constant water-cementitious materials ratios of 0.4. The GGBFS contents ratios of 100%, 80%, 70% and 60%, FA replacement ratios of 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%, CSA ratios of 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% were designed. The superplasticizer of polycarboxylate type were used. The activator was used of 10% sodium hydroxide(NaOH) + 10% sodium silicate($Na_2SiO_3$) by weight of binder. Test were conducted for mini slump, setting time, V-funnel, water absorption, compressive strength and drying shrinkage. According to the experimental results, the contents of superplasticizer, V-funnel and compressive strength increases with an increase in CSA contents for all mixtures. Moreover, the setting time, water absorption ratios and drying shrinkage ratio decrease with and increase in CSA. One of the major reason for the increase of strength and decrease of drying shrinkage is the accelerated reactivity of GGBFS with alkali activator and CSA. The CSA contents is the main parameter to explain the strength development and decreased drying shrinkage in the ATBC.

This research presents the results of an investigation on the characteristic of multi-component blended high fluidity mortars. The binder was blended ordinary Portland cement(OPC), ground granulated blast furnace slag(GGBFS), calcium sulfoaluminate(CSA) and ultra rapid setting cement(URSC). The GGBFS was replaced by OPC from 30%(P7 series), 50%(P5 series) and 70%(P3 series), CSA and URSC was 10% or 20% mass. The superplasticizer of polycarboxylate type were used. A constant water-to-binder ratio(w/b)=0.35 was used for all mixtures. Test were conducted for mini slump, setting time, V-funnel, compressive strength and drying shrinkage. According to the experimental results, the contents of superplasticizer, V-funnel and compressive strength increases with an increase in CSA or URSC contents for all mixtures. Moreover, the setting time and drying shrinkage ratio decrease with and increase in CSA or URSC. CSA decreased dry shrinkage but URSC had less effect. However, the mixed binders of CSA and URSC had a large effect of reducing drying shrinkage by complementary effect. This is effective for improving the initial strength of URSC, and CSA is effective for the expansion and improvement of long-term strength.

This paper evaluates the workability and hardened properties of self-compacting concrete (SCC) containing silica fume as the partial replacement of cement. SCC mixtures with 0, 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10% silica fume were tested for fresh and hardened properties. Slump flow with $T_{500}$ time, L-box and V-funnel tests were performed for evaluating the workability properties of SCC mixtures. Compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and modulus of rupture were performed on hardened SCC mixtures. Experiments revealed that replacement of cement by silica fume equal to and more than 4% reduced the slump flow diameter and increased the $T_{500}$ and V-funnel time linearly. Compressive strength, splitting tensile strength and modulus of rupture increased with increasing the replacement level of cement by silica fume and were found to be maximum for SCC mixture with 10% silica fume. Further, residual hardened properties of SCC mixture yielding maximum strengths (i.e., SCC with 10% silica fume) were determined experimentally after heating the concrete samples up to 200, 400, 600 and $800^{\circ}C$. Reductions in hardened properties up to $200^{\circ}C$ were found to be very close to normal vibrated concrete (NVC). For 400 and $600^{\circ}C$ reductions in hardened properties of SCC were found to be more than NVC of the same strength. Explosive spalling occurred in concrete specimens before reaching $800^{\circ}C$.
To predict the rheological behaviours along with the compressive strength of self-compacting concrete that incorporates environmentally friendly ingredients as cement substitutes, a comparative evaluation of machine learning methods is conducted. To model four parameters, slump flow diameter, L-box ratio, V-funnel time, as well as compressive strength at 28 days-a complete mix design dataset from available pieces of literature is gathered and used to construct the suggested machine learning standards, SVM, MARS, and Mp5-MT. Six input variables-the amount of binder, the percentage of SCMs, the proportion of water to the binder, the amount of fine and coarse aggregates, and the amount of superplasticizer are grouped in a particular pattern. For optimizing the hyper-parameters of the MARS model with the lowest possible prediction error, a gravitational search algorithm (GSA) is required. In terms of the correlation coefficient for modelling slump flow diameter, L-box ratio, V-funnel duration, and compressive strength, the prediction results showed that MARS combined with GSA could improve the accuracy of the solo MARS model with 1.35%, 11.1%, 2.3%, as well as 1.07%. By contrast, Mp5-MT often demonstrates greater identification capability and more accurate prediction in comparison to MARS-GSA, and it may be regarded as an efficient approach to forecasting the rheological behaviors and compressive strength of SCC in infrastructure practice.

This study examines the properties of high-fluidity concrete after adding copper slag as a mineral admixture. For this purpose, the replacement ratio of cement to copper slag was varied to 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50%. A slump flow test, reach time slump flow of 500 mm, and a U-Box and O-lot test were conducted on the fresh concrete. The compressive strength of the hardened concrete was determined at 3, 7, 14 and 28 days. According to the test results, the workability, compaction, and compressive strength of the high-fluidity concrete increased when replacing 30% of the cement with copper slag. These parameters decreased for all material ages with more than 30% copper slag, which was the optimal mixture ratio.

Self-compacting concretes (SCC) are highly fluid concrete which can flow without any vibration. Their composition requires a large quantity of fines to limit the risk of bleeding and segregation. The use of crushed sand rich in limestone fines could be an adequate solution for both economic and environmental reasons. This paper investigates the influence of quarry limestone fines from manufactured crushed sand on rheological, mechanical and durability properties of SCC. For this purpose, five mixtures of SCC with different limestone fines content as substitution of crushed sand (0, 5, 10, 15 and 20%) were prepared at constant water-to-cement ratio of 0.40 and $490kg/m^3$ of cement content. Fresh SCC mixtures were tested by slump flow test, V-funnel flow time test, L-box height ratio, segregation resistance and rheological test using a rheometer. Compressive and flexural strengths of SCC mixtures were evaluated at 28 days. Regarding durability properties, total porosity, capillary water absorption and chloride-ion migration were studied at 180 days. For the two test modes in fresh state, the results indicated compatibility between slump flow/yield stress (${\tau}_0$) and V-funnel flow time/plastic viscosity (${\mu}$). Increasing the substitution level of limestone fines in SCC mixtures, contributes to the decrease of the slump flow and the yield stress. All SCC mixtures investigated achieved adequate filling, adequate passing ability and exhibit no segregation. Moreover, the inclusion of limestone fines as crushed sand substitution reduces the capillary water absorption, chloride-ion migration and consequently enhances the durability performance.
In this study, limestone powder (LS) and fly ash (FA) were used as powder materials in self-compacting concrete (SCC) in increasing quantities in addition to cement, so that the two powders commonly used in the production of SCC could be compared in the same study. Considering the reduction of the maximum aggregate size in SCC, 10 mm or 16 mm was selected as the coarse aggregate size. The properties of fresh concrete were determined by slump flow (including T500 time), V-funnel and J-ring experiments. The experimental results showed that as the amount of both LS and FA increased, the slump flow also increased. The increase in powder material had a negative effect on V-funnel flow times, causing it to increase; however, the increase in FA concretes was smaller compared to LS ones. The increase in the powder content reduced the amount of blockage in the J-ring test for both aggregate sizes. As the hardened concrete properties, the compressive and splitting strengths as well as the modulus of elasticity were determined. Longitudinal and transverse deformations were measured by attaching a special frame to the cylindrical specimens and the values of Poisson's ratio, initiation and critical stresses were obtained. Despite having a similar W/C ratio, all SCC exhibited higher compressive strength than NVC. Compressive strength increased with increasing powder content for both LS and FA; however, the increase of the FA was higher than the LS due to the pozzolanic effect. SCC with a coarse aggregate size of 16 mm showed higher strength than 10 mm for both powders. Similarly, the modulus of elasticity increased with the amount of powder material. Inelastic properties, which are rarely found in the literature for SCC, were determined by measuring the initial and critical stresses. Crack formation in SCC begins under lower stresses (corresponding to lower initial stresses) than in normal concretes, while critical stresses indicate a more brittle behavior by taking higher values.
The leaves of Paulownia coreana Uyeki were collected, extracted with acetone-$H_2O$ (7:3, v/v), concentrated under reduced pressure and successively fractionated using n-hexane, methylene chloride, ethyl acetate and water on a separatory funnel. A portion of the ethyl acetate soluble powder was chromatographed on a Sephadex LH-20 column using aqueous methanol and ethanol-hexane as washing solvents. Two isomeric phenylpropanoid glycosides were isolated and elucidated as verbascoside and isoverbascoside by NMR and MS spectrometers.
