  • Crude oil-degrading microorganisms, Acinetobacter sp. A132, Pseudomonas aeruginosa F722, and Acinetobacter calcoaceticus OM1 were isolated from soil and sea. The optimal temperature of strain A132 and strain F722 on growth isolated from soil was $35^{\circ}C$ both, and also their growth were optimized at pH 8 and 9, respectively. The growth of the strains, A132 and F722, showed that crude oil of 2% (w/v) in culture broth in which crude oil was used as carbon and energy sources appeared to be an optimum. Optimal culture conditions of strain OM1 were different from those of the soil microorganisms except for temperature. The growth of strain OM1 was optimized at pH 7 and crude oil of 3.0% (w/v). The degradability to crude oil by strain A132 showed maximum $5.49g/\;l\;{\cdot}\;day$ under the conditions of $25^{\circ}C$, NaCl of 1.0% (w/v), and crude oil of 2.0% (w/v). The highest degradability of strain F722 to crude oil was $1.19g/\;l\;{\cdot}\;day$ under the culture conditions at $35^{\circ}C$, NaCl 1.0% (w/v), and crude oil of 2.0% (w/v). The degradation characteristics of kerosene $(nC_9-nC_{20})$ and diesel $(nC_9-nC_{28})$ by strain OM1, and F722 were analyzed by gas chromatography. Strain OM1 degraded more than 95% of kerosene and 75% of diesel for 7 days cultivation. Strain F722 showed degradation of more than 80% to kerosene in 10 days.

  • This paper wanted to test the reality of English schwa by phonetic and phonological methods. Phonetically it wanted to see acoustic evidence of the relationship between the full vowels and their reduced vowels in the unstressed positions. Phonologically it wanted to prove how systematic the schwa sound is by the constraint-based grammar. As a result, the schwa phenomenon in English was supported both phonetically and phonologically. In the phonetic analysis no relationship Was found in the distribution of the F1 and F2 of the full vowels and their reduced vowels in the unstressed syllables of the derived words. The reduced vowels tended to converge into a target of F1 516 and F2 1815. The view that the schwa sounds have a target was supported. On the phonological side the constraint-based tableau produced the successful output by using FAITH (V), (equation omitted)V, FAITH V[-BACK+HiC], V[-Low, -TNS]#, REDUCE V[-STR, -TNS] as constraints. No ranking was found. Any violation of the constraints ousted the candidates.

  • Three-dimensional thermoluminescence(TL) spectra of LiF: Mg, Cu, Na, Si TL material based on temperature, wavelength and intensity were measured and analyzed. The glow curves were obtained by integration of luminescence intensity for wavelength at each temperature, and various trapping parameters related to the trap formation were determined by analyzing these curves. Computerized glow curve deconvolution(CGCD) method which based on general order kinetics(GOK) model were used for the glow curve analysis. The glow curves of LiF:Mg, Cu, Na, Si TL material were deconvoluted to six isolated glow curves which have peak temperature at 333 K, 374 K, 426 K, 466 K, 483 K and 516 K, respectively. The 466 K main glow peak had an activation energy of 2.06 eV and a kinetic order of 1.05. This TL material was also found to have three recombination centers, 1.80 eV, 2.88 eV and 3.27 eV by TL spectra analysis based on Franck-Condon model. It showed that 2.88 eV is the dominant center, followed by 3.27 eV level, and 1.80 eV center is ascertained as emission center of this material even though its very weak emission intensity.

  • The aim of this study is to find the condition of forming the favorable nanotubes by anodizing with NaF and $H_3PO_4$. Machined Ti discs were used for anode, and Platinum net was used for cathode. For electrolyte, $H_3PO_4$ and NaF solution were mixed. We controlled voltage, electrolyte concentration, anodizing time and formed nanotubes on Ti discs. After that, these were washed with distilled water for 24 hours and dried in the $40^{\circ}C$ oven for 24 hours. The surface structure of specimens were analyzed. The results were as follows : At 0.5 wt % NaF, according as increasing voltage and anodizing time, early state of nucleating pores were generated. At 1.0 wt % NaF, 20 V, 20 & 25 min, well-formed nanotubes were observed. At 1.0 wt % NaF, 30 V, structure of nanotube became bigger and interconnected. At 2.0 wt % NaF, no nanotubes were formed and it was unrelated with voltage and time. At 1.0 wt % NaF, 20 V, 20 - 25 min, well-ordered nanotubes were generated on Ti discs. For the formation of favorable nanotubes, it is considered that proper parameters such as electrolyte concentration, voltage, anodizing time are necessary according to the kind of electrolytes.

  • The phenomenon of vocal vibrato may be regarded as an acoustic representation of one of the most rapid and continuous changes in pitch and intensity that the human vocal mechanism is capable of producing. Singers are likely to use vibrato effectively to enrich their voice. The purpose of this study was to obtain acoustic measurements (vF0 and vAm) of 45 subjects (15 trot and 15 ballad singers and 15 non-singers) and to compare acoustic measurements of the vowel /a/ produced by 3 groups on 2 voice sampling conditions (prolongation and singing of /a/). Thirty singers of trot and ballad were selected by a producer and a concert director working for the KBS (Korean Broadcasting System). The MDVP was used to measure the acoustic parameters. A two-way MANOVA was used for statistical analyses. The results were as follows; Firstly, there was no significant difference among the 3 groups in vF0 and vAm in prolongation of /a/, but in singing voice, there was a significant difference among 3 groups in vF0 and vAm. Secondly, there was an interaction between music genre and voice sampling condition in vF0, and vAm. Finally, trot singers sing with more vibrato than ballad singers. It was concluded that it is very important to analyze singers' voice including various voice conditions (prolongation, reading, conversation, and singing) and to identify differences of singing voice characteristics among music genre.

  • An integrated circuit for magnetic stripe storage system is implemented. All the analog and digital circuits are integrated in one chip. The analog block contains preamplifier, peak detecter, comparator and reference generater. And digital block includes reference window signal generater, up/down counter for F/2F signal measurement, bit-error detection logic, and control logic. Both the encoding and decoding functions for F/2F signal processing are provided. An AGC(automatic gain control) circuit which was included in conventional circuits is eliminated due to optimized circuit design. Misreading prevention circuits are also proposed by fixing up new reference bit when broken bits are detected. The prototype chip is implemented using $0.8{\mu}m$ N-well CMOS technology and operates from 3.3 V to 7.5 V of supply voltage. It occupies a die area of $3.04mm^2(1.6mm{\times}1.9mm)$ and dissipates 8 mW with a 5 V supply voltage.

  • New electron deficient moiety, 6,7-difluoro-2,3-dihexylquinoxaline, was developed for the push-pull type copolymer for organic photovoltaics (OPVs). The PFDTQxF with lower HOMO energy level was synthesized using fluorene and 6,7-difluoro- 2,3-dihexylquinoxaline by Suzuki polymerization. The PFDTQxF thin film shows two absorption peaks at 368 and 493 nm. The HOMO and LUMO energy levels of PFDTQxF are calculated -5.55 and -3.91 eV, respectively. The device comprising PFDTQxF showed a $V_{OC}$ value of 0.47 V, a $J_{SC}$ value of $4.48mA/cm^2$, and a FF of 0.32, which yielded PCE of 0.78%, under the illumination of AM 1.5.

  • A Total Mean Cordial labeling of a graph G = (V, E) is a function $f:V(G){\rightarrow}\{0,1,2\}$ such that $f(xy)={\Large\lceil}\frac{f(x)+f(y)}{2}{\Large\rceil}$ where $x,y{\in}V(G)$, $xy{\in}E(G)$, and the total number of 0, 1 and 2 are balanced. That is ${\mid}ev_f(i)-ev_f(j){\mid}{\leq}1$, $i,j{\in}\{0,1,2\}$ where $ev_f(x)$ denotes the total number of vertices and edges labeled with x (x = 0, 1, 2). If there is a total mean cordial labeling on a graph G, then we will call G is Total Mean Cordial. Here, We investigate the Total Mean Cordial labeling behaviour of prism, gear, helms.

  • A radio k-labeling f of a graph G is a function f from V (G) to $Z^+{\cup}\{0\}$ such that $d(x,y)+{\mid}f(x)-f(y){\mid}{\geq}k+1$ for every two distinct vertices x and y of G, where d(x, y) is the distance between any two vertices $x,y{\in}G$. The span of a radio k-labeling f is denoted by sp(f) and defined as max$\{{\mid}f(x)-f(y){\mid}:x,y{\in}V(G)\}$. The radio k-labeling is a radio labeling when k = diam(G). In other words, a radio labeling is an injective function $f:V(G){\rightarrow}Z^+{\cup}\{0\}$ such that $${\mid}f(x)=f(y){\mid}{\geq}diam(G)+1-d(x,y)$$ for any pair of vertices $x,y{\in}G$. The radio number of G denoted by rn(G), is the lowest span taken over all radio labelings of the graph. When k = diam(G) - 1, a radio k-labeling is called a radio antipodal labeling. An antipodal labeling for a graph G is a function $f:V(G){\rightarrow}\{0,1,2,{\ldots}\}$ such that $d(x,y)+{\mid}f(x)-f(y){\mid}{\geq}diam(G)$ holds for all $x,y{\in}G$. The radio antipodal number for G denoted by an(G), is the minimum span of an antipodal labeling admitted by G. In this paper, we investigate the exact value of the radio number and radio antipodal number for the circulant graphs G(4k + 2; {1, 2}).

  • A radio labeling of a graph G is a function $f:V(G){\rightarrow}\{1,2,{\ldots},k\}$ with the property that ${\mid}f(u)-f(v){\mid}{\geq}1+diam(G)-d(u,v)$ for every pair of vertices $u,v{\in}V(G)$, where diam(G) and d(u, v) are diameter and distance between u and v in the graph G respectively. The radio number of a graph G, denoted by rn(G), is the smallest integer k such that G admits a radio labeling. In this paper, we completely determine radio number of all transformation graphs of a path.
