Two groups of esophagus graft were done in canine esophagus in 34 adult mongrel dogs. For the first group segmental replacement graft was done with fresh autologous pericardium tube, and for the second, patch graft was done utilizing fresh autologous pericardium, fresh homologous pericardium, and dacron piece. All eight dogs in the first segmental replacement graft group died 2 to 5 days after operation with severe empyema caused by anastomosis disruption. Among 26 patch graft dogs 2 died during operation and 7 died 13 to 18 days after operation. For the 17 long-term patch grafted survivors esophagography and postoperative weight check were done. Postoperative stool was collected and examined for dacron patch excretion. One, two, three, and four months postoperative long-term survivors were sacrificed to obtain specimens in each group respectively and the following observations were made. I. Survival; Autologous pericardium patch group showed no mortality but in homologous pericardium and dacron patch group only two thirds were long-term survivors. II. Postoperative swallowing; There was no case which demonstrated postoperative dysphagia. About half of the cases showed postoperative weight increase and in only 3 cases weight decrease followed operation. III. Dacron patch was excreted in the stool 8 to 23 days after operation. Animals which excreted dacron patch up to 9 days after operation all died of empyema due to anastomosis disruption. IV. Postoperative esophagogram; All esophagograms in each group showed no leakage of barium, no passage disturbances and no remarkable stenotic signs. V. Morphological findings; [A] Macroscopical findings; In one month group specimens of each group dense adhesion with surrounding structures was noted and luminal surface was smooth with contraction of the patched area. In two month groups anastomosis sutures were still exposed but patched area showed lesser abnormality. In three to four months groups sutures were covered completely and patched area showed only very slight signs of contraction. [B] Microscopic findings; In one month group luminal surface of the replaced tissue [transplanted tissue] showed almost complete epithelial covering that is composed of several layers of squamous cells with no evidence of keratinization. Basement membrane was also well distinct throughout. Slight to minimal inflammatory cells comprising of large mononuclears, lymphocytes and plasma cells were observed in the subepithelial fibrous stroma consisted entirely of loose fibrous tissue containing many newly formed capillaries and fibroblastic proliferation. Scattered suture granulomas were found, few of which became acutely inflamed. In two months group repairing process progressed with lesser degree of inflammatory cell infiltration and young capillary proliferation. Fibrous tissue was more matured showing even focal collagenization. Suture granuloma persisted but with lesser reactive changes. Epithelial covering was that of a mature non-keratinizing stratified squamous epithelium. In three and four months groups the replaced area showed essentially similar histological findings. However, subepithelial stroma still consisted entirely of connective tissue without evidence of smooth muscle regeneration. In this group, inflammatory cell infiltration was minimal or negligible. Among these patch materials autologous pericardium group showed the most satisfactory repairing process. The above mentioned results may signify the feasibility of autogenous pericardium patch graft in clinical esophageal surgery.
The rat thoracic aorta was harvested to determine whether either hyperkalemla or hypothermia impairs the endothelium-dependent re axation of the vascular smooth muscle. Isolated thoracic aorta segments were studied in five groups(n=10 in each group). In group I(control), the isolated aortic seglnents were suspended in organ bath without any intervention. In group ll(endotheilum removAl). the endothelium of the aortic segment was removed by gentle rubbing of the intimal surface with a pair of forceps. In group III(457), IV(4mST), and V(3757), the aortic segments were exposed for 45minutes to 4$^{\circ}C$ St. Thomas hospital cardioplegic solution(57 : NaCl, 144.3; KCI, 19.6, MgCl:, 15.7 : CaCl, 2.2 mmol/L).4$^{\circ}C$ modified St. Thomas hospital cardioplegic solution(NaCl, 144.3 : KCI. 140.0 : MgCl:, 15.7; CaCl:. 2.2 mmol/L). and 37$^{\circ}C$ 57, before suspending in the organ bath, respectively. Then, aorta segments were suspended in organ baths(physiologic salt solution, 37$^{\circ}C$, 95% oxygen and 5% carbon dioxide) for Isometric tension recording. The vasodilatation to acetylcholine (10-2 to 10-2mol/L) was not impaired in control, 457, 4mST, nd 3757 groups. The vasodilatation to acetylcholine was impaired in endothelium removal group. The vasodilatation to sodium nitroprusslde (10-2 to 10-2 mol/L) was not impaired in all groups. In conclusion, both hyperkalemia and hypothermia do not alter irreversibly the function of the rondothelium of the thoracic aorta of the rat.

In recent years, the Korean Medical Association has undertaken the feat of establishing the Korean Standard Terminology of Medical Procedures with the dedicated help of 32 medical academic societies. However, because the project is being conducted by several different circles, it has yet to see a clear system of classification. This thesis, therefore, proposes the three principles of scientific properties, usefulness and ideology as the basis for classification system and has developed the Classification System of Medical Procedures in Korea upon their foundation. The methodology and organization of this thesis as follows. First, by adopting scientific classification system of Feinstein(1988), an analysis of the classification systems of the medical procedures in the United States, Japan, Taiwan, WHO was carried out to reveal the framework and the basic principles in each system. Second, the direction of classification system has been constructed by applying the normative principle of medical field in order to show the future direction of the medical field and realize its ideology. Third, a finalized framework for the classification system will be presented as based on the direction of classification system. Of the three basis principles mentioned above, the analysis on the principles of usefulness was left out of this thesis due to the difficulty of establishing specific standards of analysis. The results of the study are as follows. The overall structure of the thesis is aimed at showing the 'Prevention-Therapy-Rehabilitation' quality of comprehensive health care and consists of six chapters; I. Prevention and Health Promotion II. Evaluation and Management III. Diagnostic Procedures IV. Endoscopy V. Therapeutic Procedures VI. Rehabilitation Chapter three Diagnostic Procedures is divided into four parts : Functional Diagnosis, Visual Diagnosis, Pathological Diagnosis, Biopsy and Sampling. Chapter five Therapeutic Procedures is divided into Psychiatry, Non-Invasive Therapy, Invasive Therapy, Anaesthesia and Radiation Oncology. Of these sub-divisions, Functional Diagnosis, Biopsy and Sampling, Endoscopy and Invasive Therapy employs the anatomical system of classification. On the other hand, Visual Diagnosis, Pathological Diagnosis, Anesthesia and Diagnostic Radiology, namely those divisions in which there is little or no overlapping in services with other divisions, used the classification system of its own division. The classification system introduced in this thesis can be further supplemented through the use of the cluster analysis by incorporating the advice and assistance of other specialists.
Background: The aim of the current study was to investigate the factors related to the non-practice of cancer screening in cancer survivors, who are at high risk of developing second cancers. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional analysis of 1,125 cancer survivors ${\geq}19$ years old who participated in the Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Surveys IV and V (2007-2012). A Rao-scott chi-square test and a survey logistic regression analysis were employed respectively to analyze the difference of cancer survivors in cancer screening by each characteristic and the factors related to the non-practice of cancer screening in cancer survivors. Results: Among total subjects, 33.5% did not participate in cancer screening in the last two years. Results from a fully adjusted logistic model showed that the non-practice of cancer screening in cancer survivors was significantly associated with variables such as sex, age, marital status, education level, monthly income, and drinking a alcoholic beverage Specifically, the odds ratio of non-practice of cancer screening was higher in males than in females, in the younger group than in older group, in the group with no spouse than in the group with a spouse; in a group with a low level of education than in a group with a high level of education; in a group with the lowest income level than in a group with the other levels of income; or in non-drinkers than in drinkers. Conclusion: Health policies to reduce the non-practice rate of cancer screening in cancer survivors should be designed and implemented with close attention to cancer survivors' socio-economic characteristics such as sex, age, marital status, education, and income, along with a health behavioral characteristic as drinking.
$(NH_4)_{4.5}[H_{3.5}{\alpha}-PtMo_6O_{24}]{\cdot}1.5\;H_2O(A),\;(NH_4)_4[H_4{\beta}-PtMo_6O_{24}]{\cdot}1.5\;H_2O(B),\;and\;K_{3.5}[H_{4.5}{\alpha}-PtMo_6O_{24}]{\cdot}3\;H_2O(C)$ have been synthesized and their molecular structures have been also determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique. The space groups, unit cell parameters, and R factors are as follows: Compound A, monoclinic, $A_{2/a}$, a= 19.074 (3), b=21.490 (3), c=15.183 (2) ${\AA};\;{\beta}$=109.67 (1) ${\AA}$; z=8; R=0.075($IF_0I>4{\sigma}(IF_0I);$ Compound B, triclinic, P$bar{1}$, a=10.776 (2), b=15.174 (4), c=10.697 (3) ${\AA};\;{\alpha}$ =126.29 (2), ${\beta}$=111.55 (2), ${\gamma}$=93.18 (2) ${\AA}$; Z=2; R=0.046($IF_0I>3{\sigma}(IF_0I);$): Compound C, triclinic, Pl, a=12.426 (2), b=13.884 (2), c=10.089 (1) ${\AA}$; ${\alpha}$=102.59 (2), ${\beta}$=110.73 (1), ${\gamma}$=53.93 (1) ${\AA}$; Z=2; R=0.074 ($IF_0I>3{\sigma}(IF_0I)$. Compounds A and C contain the well-known Anderson structure (planar structure) heteropoly oxometalate having approximate $bar{3}_m(D_{3d})$ symmetry, while compound B contains the bent structure heteropoly oxometalate having appproximate $2_{mm}(C2_v)$ symmetry. The bent structure and the planar one are geometrical isomers. These compounds are rot only novel heteroply molybdates containing platinate(IV) but also the first example of geometrical isomerism in the hexamolybdoheteropoly oxometalates. That isomerization surprisingly occurred because of the change of only 0.5 non-acidic hydrogen atom attached to the polyanion such as $[H_{3.5}{\alpha} -PtMo_6O_{24}]^{4.5-}{\to}[H_4{\beta}-PtMo_6O_{24}]^{4-}{\to}[H_{4.5}{\alpha} -PtMo_6O_{24}]^{3.5-}$. It seems that the gradual protonation of the polyanion plays an important role in that isomerism. These heteropolyanions form dimers by strong hydrogen bonds between two heteropolyanions in the respective crystal system.
This study was conducted to estimate carbon stocks of Quercus serrata with drawing volume of trees in each tree height and DBH applying the suitable stem taper equation and tree specific carbon emission factors, using collected growth data from all over the country. Information on distribution area, tree number per hectare, tree volume and volume stocks were obtained from the $5^{th}$ National Forest Inventory (2006~2010), and method provided in IPCC GPG was applied to estimate carbon storage and removals. Performance in predicting stem diameter at a specific point along a stem in Quercus serrata by applying Kozak's model,$d=a_1DBH^{a_2}a_3^{DBH}X^{b_1Z^2+b_2ln(Z+0.001)+b_3{\sqrt{Z}}+b_4e^Z+b_5({\frac{DBH}{H}})}$, which is well known equation in stem taper estimation, was evaluated with validations statistics, Fitness Index, Bias and Standard Error of Bias. Consequently, Kozak's model turned out to be suitable in all validations statistics. Stem volume tables of Quercus serrata were derived by applying Kozak's model and carbon stock tables in each tree height and DBH were developed with country-specific carbon emission factors ($WD=0.65t/m^3$, BEF=1.55, R=0.43) of Quercus serrata. As a result of carbon stock analysis by age class in Quercus serrata, carbon stocks of IV age class (11,358 ha, 36.5%) and V age class (10,432; 33.5%) which take up the largest area in distribution of age class were 957,000 tC and 1,312,000 tC. Total carbon stocks of Quercus serrata were 3,191,000 tC which is 3% compared with total percentage of broad-leaved forest and carbon sequestration per hectare(ha) was 3.8 tC/ha/yr, $13.9tCO_2/ha/yr$, respectively.

Among them, 5 Korean endemic plants, 7 rare plants, 31 taxa were listed as Floristic Target Species in Korea. Naturalized plants was confirmed 73 taxa, their Urbanization Ratio 22.7%, and naturalization ratio 15.4% in the investigated area. The Life form(Dormancy form) review results as follows ; Therophytes 159 taxa, Hemicryptophytes 91 taxa, Hydrophanerophytes 68 taxa, Geophyte 52 taxa, Nanophanerophytes 35 taxa, Megaphanerophytes 32 taxa, Microphanerophytes 25 taxa, Chamaephytes 12 taxa, and Epiphyten 1 taxa.
This study presents a discussion of vascular plants found on Mt. Baekasan, Hwasun-gun, Jeollanam-do, based on specimens collected during 32 separate field trips amounting to a total of 36 days conducted between May of 2011 and October of 2016. There are 651 taxa on Mt. Baekasan, consisting of 109 families, 366 genera, 576 species, 5 subspecies, and 70 varieties. Twelve plants endemic to Korea were found, including Cirsium setidens (Dunn) Nakai and Scutellaria insignis Nakai. There are a total of 61 taxa of floristic regional indicator plants specially designated by the Ministry of the Environment. Rare plants such as Jeffersonia dubia (Maxim.) Benth. & Hook. ex Baker & S. Moore in Mt. Baekasan are 17 taxa in total, and red list plants number 8 taxa, including Cremastra variabilis (Blume) Nakai ex Shibata. Nine calciferous plants were found, including Asplenium ruprechtii Sa. Kurata, Ulmus davidiana var. japonica (Rehder) Nakai and Morus cathayana Hemsl. Thirty-three naturalized plants were also found, including Ambrosia artemisiifolia and Rumex acetosella.
To investigate the effect of seasonal marine environment conditions on the cyanobacteria abundance and diversity in the South Sea, four-seasonal surveys were conducted along the 127.5°E survey transect line in the central South Sea using flow cytometry and 16S-23S ITS on the Miseq platform from August 2016 to May 2017. The average abundance of Synechococcus varied from 3.3 × 103 to 7.4 × 104 cells ml-1. The abundance was the highest in the summer and the lowest in the winter, and the abundance fluctuated according to water temperature. The abundance was high in the outer sea affected by TWC. However, in summer, the Coastal areas affected by the Yangtze River were more populated than the outer sea. Prochlorococcus was rare and could not penetrate into coastal areas due to the fronts, but showed its dominance in the waters influenced by the TWC. Synechococcus clades II, VII, IX, CRD1, and CRD2 were predominant in the outer sea area affected by the TWC. In the coastal area, clades I and IV showed higher dominance whereas clades V, VI, WPC1, and 5.3-MS3 with euryhaline characteristics, showed a high dominance rate in the water masses affected by the low-salinity water of the Yangtze River in the summer. Clade XVI, XVII, CB1, CB5, and 5.3-I/II showed high dominance in nutrient-rich waters in the summer with increased water temperature. The abundance and community composition of cyanobacteria changed in the South Sea due to the influence of the TWC and stratification. In the summer, the abundance and the community composition differed, and were mainly affected by the general influence of the TWC in addition to the influence of the Yangtze River low-salinity water.
