  • Recently, deformation of operating railway structures has occurred due to adjacent excavation works such as new structures and utility tunnel expansion concentrated around downtown areas. However, most of them are focused on structural review, repair and reinforcement of structures. A review of the Track is insufficient. In particular, in the case of the gravel track on the earthwork subgrade, the subgrade and the ballast are not solidified. A slight level of deformation can cause ballast relaxation. Sleeper support conditions may lead to unstable conditions. Sufficient safety must be ensured. In addition, it is a track type with a high risk of train derailment due to unstable support conditions. In this study, the correlation between the deformation characteristics of gravel tracks and track support performance according to subgrade deformation is experimentally and analytically verified. In addition, an evaluation technique that can evaluate the condition of the gravel track and the track support stiffness is presented.

  • This paper studies a fire detection system using an optical fiber linear detector which can minimize damage from a fire by the most adaptable even in poor environmental conditions such as a tunnel or utility-pipe conduit vulnerable to fire. Using a strand of optical fiber, temperature can be displayed in intervals of meters and a fire can be detected remotely from a distance of several kilometers. Thanks to its strengths such as high reliability and long life, it is widely applied in harsh environments in the overseas. Therefore demands are expected to grow greatly in Korea as well. However, all optical signal drive and analysis module except for the optical fiber linear detector, tend to rely on import. Firstly this study deduced the location and the method of processing signals measuring temperature by using the optical fiber linear detector in order to develop a technology for a domestic model of fire detection system. Secondly this study designed and manufactured the optical analysis test module, and then we checked its performance.

  • The framework plan for the development of an integrated underground space map was established of preventing ground subsidence. The mapping process is expected to be completed to the level of nationwide municipal government standards by end of this year. To facilitate the utilization of the integrated underground space map, paper-based drawings for specialized organizations in underground safety impact assessment have been provided since September 2018, and services for local government officials have been provided in the underground information utilization system since May 2019. However, the map is utilized based on the information at the time of the initial development of the map, without any updates, thereby resulting in a lack of accuracy and latest information. This has led to a decrease in the utilization and reliability of the information. Therefore, in this study, for the underground structures(subway, underground shopping mall, underground passage, underground roadway, underground parking lot, utility tunnel), which are the key components of the integrated underground space map, a standard format for the submission of completed drawings is designed in accordance with Article 42 (2) of the Special Act on Underground Safety Management, which aims at laying the foundation for establishing the updated system of the integrated underground space map. In addition, through the verification of the automatically updated underground structure data based on the standard format, the reliability of the data can be assured. This format is expected to contribute to the improved utilization of the integrated underground space map in the future.
