A New Level Shifter using Low Temperature poly-Si TFTs

  • We proposed a new cross-coupled level shifter circuit using low temperature poly-Si(LTPS) TFT. The proposed level shifter can operate on low input voltage in spite of low mobility and widely varying high threshold voltage of LTPS TFT. Also, the proposed level shifter operates at high frequency and reduces power consumption for having fast rising and falling time and shortening period flowing short-circuit currents.

Efficient Eye Location for Biomedical Imaging using Two-level Classifier Scheme

  • We present a novel method for eye location by means of a two-level classifier scheme. Locating the eye by machine-inspection of an image or video is an important problem for Computer Vision and is of particular value to applications in biomedical imaging. Our method aims to overcome the significant challenge of an eye-location that is able to maintain high accuracy by disregarding highly variable changes in the environment. A first level of computational analysis processes this image context. This is followed by object detection by means of a two-class discrimination classifier(second algorithmic level).We have tested our eye location system using FERET and BioID database. We compare the performance of two-level classifier with that of non-level classifier, and found it's better performance.

PISA 2009에서 ICT 활용능력과 학습목적 컴퓨터 사용 영향요인에 대한 다층분석 (Multi-level Analysis on the Using ICT Ability and Using Computers for Learning through PISA 2009 Data)

  • 본 연구는 ICT 활용능력과 학습목적 컴퓨터 사용영향 요인을 파악하기 위해 PISA 2009 한국자료 141개 학교의 학생 4,298명을 대상으로 다층분석을 실시하였다. 연구의 결과로 첫째, ICT 활용능력은 여학생, 사회경제문화적지위, 온라인 자료읽기, 컴퓨터 태도 하위항목의 중요성과 관심은 정적으로 유의하였고, 재미 및 시간왜곡은 부적으로 유의하였다. 학교수준에서는 사회경제문화적지위만이 유의하였다. 둘째, 가정에서 학습목적의 컴퓨터 사용은 ICT 활용능력의 학생수준 영향변인들의 결과와 같았으나 컴퓨터 태도 하위항목의 중요성은 유의하지 않았다. 학교수준에서는 사회경제문화적지위가 정적 영향, 지역규모는 부적 영향을 나타내었다. 셋째, 학교에서 학습목적 컴퓨터 사용은 성별 차이가 없었고, 온라인자료읽기는 정적 영향, 재미와 시간왜곡은 부적인 영향을 주었다. 학교수준에서는 사회경제문화적지위와 컴퓨터 비율은 정적 영향, 지역규모와 학생-교사비율은 부적 영향을 주었다. 연구결과는 다층적 접근을 통해 개인차와 학교 간 차이를 고려한 정보교육 정책이 이뤄져야 함을 시사한다.

  • Computer technology in mathematics teaching-learning is not for teaching computer but for improving mathematics teaching-learning with computer. It is shown the use of computer technology comparing with traditional approach provides students more opportunities in order to approach abstract structure. Computer activity provides not only understanding concepts of analysis and opportunity to investigate theory but also effective background in teaching analysis. We analyze students' computer usage level on analysis education by using computer usage level according to role of computer technology. We try to get an useful educational implication on analysis education applying MATLAB through qualitative research.

  • In this study, the ultrasonic transducer was fabricated with piezoceramic-polymer 1-3 type composites. Pulse-echo response of that transducer in water was investigated with variable water-level. Output of LED was under the control of the signal, which was analyzerd by the self-made Electric Unit. This paper represents automatically water-detecting system with variable water level. There was in good agreement water level between the virtual level and output signal by using the self-made water-detecting system.

  • An ultra low-power down-conversion level shifter using low temperature poly-crystalline silicon thin film transistors is proposed for mobile applications. The simulation result shows that the power consumption of the proposed circuits is only 17% and the propagation delay is 48% of those of the conventional cross-coupled level shifter without additional area. And the measured power consumption is only 21% of that of the crosscoupled level shifter.

  • 본 연구는 기업이나 공공단체 학교 등 대량의 PC를 보유하고 있는 곳에서 PC의 고장에 대한 효율적이고, 체계적인 유지보수 기능을 갖는 시스템의 개발과 운영을 설계하였다. 네트워크 유지보수 계약에 활발히 사용되고 있는 서비스 수준 협약(Service Level Agree : SLA) 기법을 활용하여 서비스 제공자의 서비스 제공 수준에 대한 투명한 측정과 관리를 할 수 있게 설계하였으며, 서비스 요구 점수, 유지보수 활동, 사용자 만족도, 확인 과정에 이르기까지 서비스의 전체 과정이 하나의 시스템에서 이루어지도록 One Stop Service가 가능하도록 시스템을 설계하였다.

  • This paper describes a control method of tank level using Fuzzy Inference Technique. In General, to control tank level without a dangerous overflow and with a high accuracy is difficult because of high order time delay and nonlinearity. None the less, the hardware controller using 80586 Microprocessor with DT-2801 board in this paper was successfully implemented, through a series of simulations and experiments, the superiority of the proposed fuzzy controller ta a conventional PID one was investigated.

  • This study presents states-of-the art overview of the system level electrostatic discharge (ESD) analysis and testing. After brief description of ESD compliance standards and ESD coupling mechanisms, the study provides an in-depth review and comparison of the various techniques for the system level ESD coupling analysis using time and frequency domain techniques, full wave electromagnetic modeling and hybrid modeling. The methods used for improving system level ESD testing using troubleshooting and determining the root causes of soft failures, the optimization of ESD testing and the countermeasures to mitigate ESD problems are also discussed.

Speech Enhancement Using Level Adapted Wavelet Packet with Adaptive Noise Estimation

  • In this paper, a new speech enhancement method using level adapted wavelet packet is presented. First, we propose a level adapted wavelet packet to alleviate a drawback of the conventional node adapted one in noisy environment. Next, we suggest an adaptive noise estimation method at each node on level adapted wavelet packet tree. Then, for more accurate noise component subtraction, we propose a new estimation method of spectral subtraction weight. Finally, we present a modified spectral subtraction method. The proposed method is evaluated on various noise conditions: speech babble noise, F-l6 cockpit noise, factory noise, pink noise, and Volvo car interior noise. For an objective evaluation, the SNR test was performed. Also, spectrogram test and a very simple listening test as a subjective evaluation were performed.
