Recommendation Method considering New User in Internet of Things Environment (사물인터넷 환경에서 새로운 사용자를 고려한 정보 추천 기법)

  • With the popularization of mobile devices, the number of social network service users is increasing, thereby the amount of data is also increasing accordingly. As Internet of Things environment is expanding to connect things and people, there is information much more than before. In such an environment, it becomes very important to recommend the necessary information to the user. In this paper, we propose a recommendation method that considers new users in IoT environment. In the proposed method, we recommend the information by applying the centrality-based social network analysis method to the recommendation method using the social relationships in the social IoT. We describe the seven-step recommendation method and apply them to the music circle scenario of the IoT environment. Through the music circle scenario, we show that we can recommend more suitable information to new users in the IoT environment than the existing recommendation method.

  • In this paper we studied English listening and speaking test part of foreign language using web and VoiceXML-based education testing system, which is irrespective of time and space. The testing system interface based on VoiceXML consists of user registration module, testing module, and testing result module. User registration module registers user's name and ID, password in user database, and when a tester calls for testing, the User listens to the telephone sound supported by vxml scenario. After that, if a tester logs in, the tester is verified, In the VoiceXML-based education testing system, the manager can reduce time and effort for gaining testing result. The tester listens to the voice by scenario supported by VoiceXML markup language using wire/wireless telephone at any time or anywhere and can improve the effect of foreign language studying by valuating in voice directly. verified. The Use of Persona Based Scenario Method for the Development of Web Board Game for the Pre-elderly

  • This study defined the pre-elderly as middle age people from 50 to 59. Because it is difficult to produce a design to satisfy the pre-elderly without deeply understanding them, their financial and physical characteristics and persona-based scenario method was studied. An experimental study about persona based scenario method was conducted, and as a result, the types of personas found were as follows: 1) Users enjoy the same games online and offline. 2) Users enjoy playing alone on the computer. 3) Users prefer games that end quickly with win or loss. Writing the situation scenario for each type, the pre-elderly's problems and needs occurring while they play web board games were obtained. The obtained user requests were as follows: users would like the level of difficulty to be simpler in the game of baduk; users wanted unlimited credit and refrainment from using English words in go-Stop; and there were simple comments about game screen design.

Joint Subcarrier and Bit Allocation for Secondary User with Primary Users' Cooperation

  • Interference between primary user (PU) and secondary user (SU) transceivers should be mitigated in order to implement underlay spectrum sharing in cognitive radio networks (CRN). Considering this scenario, an improved joint subcarrier and bit allocation scheme for cognitive user with primary users' cooperation (PU Coop) in CRN is proposed. In this scheme, the optimization problem is formulated to minimize the average interference power level at the PU receiver via PU Coop, which guarantees a higher primary signal to interference plus noise ratio (SINR) while maintaining the secondary user total rate constraint. The joint optimal scheme is separated into subcarrier allocation and bit assignment in each subcarrier via arith-metric geo-metric (AM-GM) inequality with asymptotical optimization solution. Moreover, the joint subcarrier and bit optimization scheme, which is evaluated by the available SU subcarriers and the allocated bits, is analyzed in the proposed PU Coop model. The performance of cognitive spectral efficiency and the average interference power level are investigated. Numerical analysis indicates that the SU's spectral efficiency increases significantly compared with the PU non-cooperation scenario. Moreover, the interference power level decreases dramatically for the proposed scheme compared with the traditional Hughes-Hartogs bit allocation scheme.

  • A script language, which represents and controls avatar behaviors in a natural language style, is especially remarkable, because it can provide a fast and easy way to develop an animation scenario script. However, the studies that consider avatar behavior interactions with various virtual objects and intuitive interface techniques to design scenario script have been lack. Therefore, we proposed a context-based avatar-object behavior model and layered script language. The model defines context-based elements to solve ambiguity problems that occur in abstract behavior interface and it provides user interface to control avatar in the object-based approach. Also, the proposed avatar behavior script language consisted of a layered structure that represents domain user interface, motion sequence, and implement environment information at each level. Using the proposed methods, the user can conveniently and quickly design an avatar-object behavior scenario script.

Developing Scenario for Implementation of Counseling Chatbot and Verifying Usefulness (상담 챗봇 구현을 위한 시나리오 개발 및 유용성 검증)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the scenario for implementation of the rule-based counseling chatbot and to verify its usefulness. For this purpose, counseling scenario for exploring problems triggering depression and establishing early counseling relationships was built and user evaluations for the rule-base counseling chatbot were conducted on 10 counseling psychologists. As a result, clear counseling structuring, appropriate use of selective and narrative responses, and active listening were identified as important components of counseling chatbot. To the next step, the usefulness of counseling chatbot developed in the previous step was examined with 78 college students. As a result, active listening was found to be an important factor in improving user satisfaction and positive mood change. In addition, through qualitative analysis of user evaluation, the unique advantages of counseling chatbot were identified and the limitations of counseling chatbot that should be overcome were identified. Based on the results of the study, the implications of the study and suggestions for future research were discussed.

Collaborative Filtering for Credit Card Recommendation based on Multiple User Profiles (신용카드 추천을 위한 다중 프로파일 기반 협업필터링)

  • Collaborative filtering, one of the most widely used techniques to build recommender systems, is based on the idea that users with similar preferences can help one another find useful items. Credit card user behavior analytics show that most customers hold three or less credit cards without duplicates. This behavior is one of the most influential factors to data sparsity. The 'cold-start' problem caused by data sparsity prevents recommender system from providing recommendation properly in the personalized credit card recommendation scenario. We propose a personalized credit card recommender system to address the cold-start problem, using multiple user profiles. The proposed system consists of a training process and an application process using five user profiles. In the training process, the five user profiles are transformed to five user networks based on the cosine similarity, and an integrated user network is derived by weighted sum of each user network. The application process selects k-nearest neighbors (users) from the integrated user network derived in the training process, and recommends three of the most frequently used credit card by the k-nearest neighbors. In order to demonstrate the performance of the proposed system, we conducted experiments with real credit card user data and calculated the F1 Values. The F1 value of the proposed system was compared with that of the existing recommendation techniques. The results show that the proposed system provides better recommendation than the existing techniques. This paper not only contributes to solving the cold start problem that may occur in the personalized credit card recommendation scenario, but also is expected for financial companies to improve customer satisfactions and increase corporate profits by providing recommendation properly.

  • Lighting in indoor space is being changed to system lighting converged with IT technology. Office space lighting with incandescent lamps and fluorescent lamps was completed through overall lighting plan by illumination in most cases, but convergence between LED lighting and IT technology enables the technology of responding to user requirements to be realized. Optical physical quantity suitable for humans and the lighting environment in accordance with user's sensibility, based on space function and user's behavior, would contribute to the improvement of service productivity, energy reduction, and enhancement of emotional satisfaction by providing user optimized lighting solution. Thus, user-customized system lighting guidelines to be applied with integration indicators of optics and sensibility are required. For the design elements required by users, environmental factors, product characteristics, optical characteristics, and sensibility factors are drawn from the design cases for office space and the survey, and the design check list and evaluation indicators are considered to reflect the requirements in the design and requirement indicators to give integrated satisfaction for optics and sensibility are developed. Purpose-centered design method from the user's viewpoint is applied to function-focused design through scenario, and it should be applied flexibly, as the new lightning design method solutions, to the concept design stage of space lighting design and device development. This paper, therefore, presents user-customized guidelines by pursuing the optics and sensibility evaluation and design method combining the requirement conditions and scenario, to be used for lighting content development and design.
