In recent years, with the continuous integrative development of e-commerce and social media, social commerce, as a trust-centered social transaction mode, has become an important performance form of e-commerce. The good experience of online community and abundant user-generated content (UGC) attract more and more users and businesses to participate in the community contribution. In this context, the cost of accessing information is continuously decreasing, which not only makes the purchase process more concise and efficient, but also greatly increases the possibility of consumers' impulsive consumption. However, there are very few empirical studies on the internal influencing mechanism of consumers' impulsive consumption based on the characteristics of UGC for social commerce. In view of this, based on S-O-R model, this study constructs a model of consumers' impulsive consumption in the context of social commerce from the characteristics of UGC, with perceived risk as the mediating variable and tie strength as the moderating variable. The results show that content authenticity, content usefulness, and content valence of UGC have significant negative impacts on consumers' risk perception in the process of purchase decision-making, and consumers' perceived risk has a significant negative impact on consumers' impulsive consumption. Meanwhile, the tie strength between UGC producer and UGC receiver plays a moderating role between content usefulness and perceived risk, as well as between perceived risk and impulsive consumption. Finally, combined with the above findings, this study provides effective suggestions for relevant participants in social commerce in terms of business management.
The amount of information on the Web is explosively growing as the Internet gains in popularity. However, only a small portion of the information on the Web is truly relevant or useful to the user. Thus, offering suitable information according to user demand is an important subject in information retrieval. In e-commerce, the recommender system is essential to revitalize commercial transactions, raise user satisfaction and loyalty towards the information provider. The existing recommender systems are mostly based on user data collected at servers, so user data are dispersed over several servers. Therefore, web servers that lack sufficient user behavior data cannot easily infer user preferences. Also, if the user visits the server infrequently, it may be hard to reflect the dynamically changing user's interest. This paper proposes a novel personalization system analyzing the user preference based on web documents that are accessed by the user on a user device. The system also identifies non-content blocks appearing repeatedly in the dynamically generated web documents, and adds weight to the keywords extracted from the hyperlink sentence selected by the user. Therefore, the system establishes at an early stage recommendation strategies for the web server that has little user data. Also, user profiles are generated rapidly and more accurately by identifying the information blocks. In order to evaluate the proposed system, this study collected web data and purchase history from users who have current purchase activity. Then, we computed the similarity between purchase data and the user profile. We confirm the accuracy of the generated user profile since the web page containing the purchased item has higher correlation than other item pages.

Sentiment analysis is one of the promising approaches for developing a point of interest (POI) recommendation system. It uses natural language processing techniques that deploy expert insights from user-generated content such as reviews and feedback. By applying sentiment polarities (positive, negative, or neutral) associated with each POI, the recommendation system can suggest the most suitable POIs for specific users. The proposed study combines two models for POI recommendation. The first model uses bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM) to predict sentiments and is trained on an election dataset. It is observed that the proposed model outperforms existing models in terms of accuracy (99.52%), precision (99.53%), recall (99.51%), and F1-score (99.52%). Then, this model is used on the Foursquare dataset to predict the class labels. Following this, user and POI embeddings are generated. The next model recommends the top POIs and corresponding coordinates to the user using the LSTM model. Filtered user interest and locations are used to recommend POIs from the Foursquare dataset. The results of our proposed model for the POI recommendation system using sentiment analysis are compared to several state-of-the-art approaches and are found quite affirmative regarding recall (48.5%) and precision (85%). The proposed system can be used for trip advice, group recommendations, and interesting place recommendations to specific users.
These days, online media, such as blogospheres, online communities, and social networking sites, provides the uncountable user-generated content (UGC) to discover market intelligence and business insight with. The business has been interested in consumers, and constantly requires the approach to identify consumers' opinions and competitive advantage in the competing market. Analyzing consumers' opinion about oneself and rivals can help decision makers to gain in-depth and fine-grained understanding on the human and social behavioral dynamics underlying the competition. In order to accomplish the comparison study for rival products and companies, we attempted to do competitive analysis using text mining with online UGC for two popular and competing ramens, a market leader and a market follower, in the Korean instant noodle market. Furthermore, to overcome the lack of the Korean sentiment lexicon, we developed the domain specific sentiment dictionary of Korean texts. We gathered 19,386 pieces of blogs and forum messages, developed the Korean sentiment dictionary, and defined the taxonomy for categorization. In the context of our study, we employed sentiment analysis to present consumers' opinion and statistical analysis to demonstrate the differences between the competitors. Our results show that the sentiment portrayed by the text mining clearly differentiate the two rival noodles and convincingly confirm that one is a market leader and the other is a follower. In this regard, we expect this comparison can help business decision makers to understand rich in-depth competitive intelligence hidden in the social media.

Using flow theory as our foundation, we empirically tested the impact of three personality traits on the level of flow state experience and three user-generated content (UGC) usage types. Findings indicate that extroversion is positively related to the use of UGCs for entertainment, and negatively related to the use of UGCs for communication and information; neuroticism is positively related to the use of UGCs for entertainment and communication; and psychoticism is negatively related to the use of UGCs for information. In addition, only extroversion has an influence on flow, which is positive, and flow has a positive influence on UGC usage for entertainment and communication. This study extends flow theory by exploring antecedents and outcomes of the flow state experience.

This study develops an effective method for sentiment analysis of user-generated content on drug review websites, which has not been investigated extensively compared to other general domains, such as product reviews. A clause-level sentiment analysis algorithm is developed since each sentence can contain multiple clauses discussing multiple aspects of a drug. The method adopts a pure linguistic approach of computing the sentiment orientation (positive, negative, or neutral) of a clause from the prior sentiment scores assigned to words, taking into consideration the grammatical relations and semantic annotation (such as disorder terms) of words in the clause. Experiment results with 2,700 clauses show the effectiveness of the proposed approach, and it performed significantly better than the baseline approaches using a machine learning approach. Various challenging issues were identified and discussed through error analysis. The application of the proposed sentiment analysis approach will be useful not only for patients, but also for drug makers and clinicians to obtain valuable summaries of public opinion. Since sentiment analysis is domain specific, domain knowledge in drug reviews is incorporated into the sentiment analysis algorithm to provide more accurate analysis. In particular, MetaMap is used to map various health and medical terms (such as disease and drug names) to semantic types in the Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) Semantic Network.

With the rapid development of AI technology, ChatGPT and other AI content creation tools are becoming common, and users are becoming curious and adopting them. These tools, unlike search engines, generate results based on user prompts, which puts them at risk of inaccuracy or plagiarism. This allows unethical users to create inappropriate content and poses greater educational and corporate data security concerns. AI content detection is needed and AI-generated text needs to be identified to address misinformation and trust issues. Along with the positive use of AI tools, monitoring and regulation of their ethical use is essential. When detecting content created by AI with an AI content detection tool, it can be used efficiently by using the appropriate tool depending on the usage environment and purpose. In this paper, we collect data on AI content detection tools and compare and analyze the functions and characteristics of AI content detection tools to help meet these needs.
Even in a single day, an enormous amount of content including digital videos, posts, photographs, and wikis are generated on the web. It's getting more difficult to recommend to a user what he/she prefers among these contents because of the difficulty of automatically grasping of content's meanings. CF (Collaborative Filtering) is one of useful methods to recommend proper content to a user under these situations because the filtering process is only based on historical information about whether or not a target user has preferred an item before. Collaborative Tagging is the process that allows many users to annotate content with descriptive tags. Recommendation using tags can partially improve, such as the limitations of CF, the sparsity and cold-start problem. In this research, a CF method with user-created tags is proposed. Collaborative tagging is employed to grasp and filter users' preferences for items. Empirical demonstrations using real dataset from del.icio.us show that our algorithm obtains improved performance, compared with existing works.

Online image dictionary has become more and more popular in concepts cognition. However, for existing online systems, only very few images are manually picked to demonstrate the concepts. Currently, there is very little research found on automatically choosing large scale online images with the help of semantic analysis. In this paper, we propose a novel framework to utilize community-generated online multimedia content to visually illustrate certain concepts. Our proposed framework adapts various techniques, including the correlation analysis, semantic and visual clustering to produce sets of high quality, precise, diverse and representative images to visually translate a given concept. To make the best use of our results, a user interface is deployed, which displays the representative images according the latent semantic coherence. The objective and subjective evaluations show the feasibility and effectiveness of our approach.
