복합상업시설 내부가로 계획특성 경향 분석 - 서울시 복합상업시설을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Trend on the Planning Characteristics of Internal Streets within Mixed-use Commercial Complexes - Focused on the Mixed-use Commercial Complexes in Seoul City -)

  • The internal streets of mixed-use commercial complexes, which are the extension of urban streets, are being changed from a mediating space aiming at movement to a staying-type space according to the change of mixed-use commercial complexes. And they function as a resting place of user with court and plaza, and act as an urban public space, and accommodate an activity arising from the gathering of many people. As a result, a role of new relaxation and community space is played in the center of the city. And the aspect of publicness is brought into relief. Hence, this study is intended to examine the characteristics that the internal streets of mixed-use commercial complexes have, and furthermore, it is intended to show the planning characteristics in the contemporary mixed-use commercial complexes. With regard to the method of research, first, space configuration and role of internal streets was examined according to the change of mixed-use commercial complexes on the basic of precedent research and literature review. And the internal streets of mixed-use commercial complexes were classified into doorway part, traffic line, and open space. And the characteristics of internal streets in the mixed-use commercial complexes through the concept of architectural 'publicness' were derived as accessibility, amenity, perceptibility, openness, connectivity and symbolism. The internal streets of mixed-use commercial complexes should be changed by the space planning to secure continuity with the city on the basis of accessibility and connectivity and to reinforce visual openness in the internal streets in order to improve amenity and perceptibility, accordingly the mixed-use commercial complexes will be also born again as symbolic public space in the city. Variously changing elements to improve publicness very importantly act on the planning of internal streets in the mixed-use commercial complexes, and therefore researches should be continuously carried out.

아파트 단지의 보행효율성에 관한 연구 - 단지 내 보행로를 중심으로 - (An Study of Pedestrian Efficiency in Apartment Complexes - Focused on Pedestrian Path in Apartment Complexes -)

  • This study aims to investigate how easy pedestrians get around within/through the "Apartment Complexes (AC), " a common style of high-rise multi-family housing in Korea. Over the past six decades, the AC has been the most conventional way to provide standardized housing efficiently to address the problems of the shortage of housing and the substandard housing, due to the explosion of urban population with the rapid industrialization. The AC is a huge chunk of homeogenous multi-family housing, mostly condos with decent infrastructure, including parks, pedestrian passages, schools, ect. Both in the new town development and urban renewal programs have utilized the advantages of the AC. Since the design principals of AC tend to adopt the "protective design" to prevent cars and pedestrians coming outside from passing it, it has been criticised for dissecting the continuity of socioeconomic context in neighborhoods. The neo-traditional planning urbanists, including Jane Jacobs, emphasize that smaller blocks and grid road newtworks are the key in improving social, cultural, and economic vitality of the neighborhoods, because these design concepts allow more pedestrians and different types of people to be mixed in a neighborhood. In this study, we first adopted objective measures for pedestrian accessibility and pedestrian efficiency. These measures were used to calculate the lengths of shortest paths from residential buildings to the edges of AC. We tested the difference in shortest paths between the current pedestrian networks of AC and hypothetical grid networks on the AC, and the relative difference is considered as the pedestrian efficiency, using the network analysis function of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Python programming. We found from the randomly selected 30 ACs that the existing non-grid road networks in ACs are worse than the hypothesized grid networks, in terms of pedestrian efficiency. In average, pedestrians in AC with the conventional road networks have to walk than 25%, 26%, and 27% longer than the networks of $125{\times}45m$, $100{\times}45m$, and $75{\times}45m$, respectively. With the t-test analysis, we found the pedestrian efficiency of AC with the conventional network is lower than grid-networks. Many new urbanists stress, easiness of walking is one of the most import elements for community building and social bonds. With the findings from the objective measures of pedestrian accessibility and efficiency, the AC would have limitations to attract people outside into the AC itself, which would increase dis-connectivity with adjacent areas.

  • To reduce the energy consumption of HVAC system in buildings, thermally activated building system(TABS) has been applied to low energy building because of energy efficient performance and reduction of peak load. DOAS coupled with a parallel sensible cooling could be promising because TABS handles sensible heat load only. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the indoor thermal environment and cooling operation characteristic of TABS with dedicated outdoor air system(DOAS) in Korea climate. Indoor thermal environment and operation characteristic of TABS integrated with DOAS are investigated at different TABS operation schedules and climate conditions by simulation tests. The result shows that the DOAS is more suitable for hot and humid climates. And also it show that the potential of intermittent operation of TABS.

영국 소셜하우징의 지속가능한 디자인 특성에 대한 연구 (A Study on Sustainable Design Characteristics of the UK Social Housing)

  • Currently, the way of providing housing in Korea has been regarded as public rental housing through large-scale development by the government. However, there is an increasing need for qualitative growth not only in quantitative growth but also in policies, systems, and sustainable design. The purpose of this study is to explore the applicable methods for domestic social housing through the policy and design guideline study of UK social housing which has achieved qualitative growth through diversification of development subject. First, the concept of social housing in the UK and sustainable housing design elements will be examined. Second, the characteristics and policy direction, project background, management and sustainability of five social housing projects over the last 10 years in the UK will be analyzed. In conclusion, in order to achieve the sustainable design of social housing, the construction of the social housing in terms of policy and environment must include safe and eco-friendly design adaptability that can secure local identity and respond flexibly to social change. In addition, the social housing in the UK, which forms a sustainable complex through cooperation between the public and the private sector based on its place and history, can be a guideline for establishing policies and design guidelines in terms of urban regeneration.

콜하스와 레오니도프 건축의 연관성에 대한 연구 - 기술적, 사회적, 구성적 측면을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Relationship of the Architecture of Leonidov and Koolhaas - Focused on the Technological, Social and Compositional Aspects -)

  • In 1960s Russian avant-garde architects such as Moisei Ginzburg, Konstantin Melnikov and Ivan Leonidov were rediscovered in the western architectural society. In this period Rem Koolhaas investigated the projects of Ivan Leonidov with great enthusiasm. In late 1920s and early 1930s when the hope and fantasy to the social revolution and technology reached the climax, The third generation of Russian avant-garde intended to find the new synthesis of the technology, the form and the social ideology. In this context, Leonidov proposed audacious projects from the small scale to the urban scale in the influence of Malevich's suprematism, Vesnin's technological fantasy and Ginzburg's concept of "social condenser". These projects seriously affected Koolhaas. This relationship of Leonidov and Koolhaas was indicated but not investigated in concrete manner. This study intends to analyze the projects of Leonidov and to investigate the relationship of Leonidov and Koolhaas in Delirious NewYork and in the projects of Koolhaas. We will analyse this relationship in three categories : hedonistic technology, social collectivity and pure geometry.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the background and nature of residential mobility and its influencing factors in Seoul metropolitan area. Spacial range of this study includes from Seoul to Gyeong-in area(Gyeonggi-do and Incheon). To measure this tendency, this study established hypotheses and two logistic regression models through previous researches and conducted an analysis based on 1,911 and 2,923 samples, which experienced inbound and outbound moving between the two areas. This research found that residential mobility from Seoul to Gyeong-in and those moving from Gyeong-in to Seoul had some differences in the household, socio-economic, environmental, and housing characteristics that affected the moving to each area, as well as the architectural and urban environmental characteristics that affect the Quality of Life(QoL) of the households after the residential mobility was completed.

  • 스마트시티 민관합동사업은 민관합동으로 토지 및 자본을 투자하여 도시기반시설을 건설하고, 이를 바탕으로 다양한 도시서비스를 제공하여 지속가능한 도시를 조성하고 운영하고자 하는 사업이다. 이러한 사업의 성공은 사업에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인을 얼마나 정확하게 분석하고 예측하는가에 따라 달려있다고 볼 수 있다. 그러나 다양한 물리적, 사회적 요인들로 인해 사업의 성공 가능성을 사전에 예측하는 것은 매우 어려운 것이 현실이다. 이러한 문제점들을 해결하고 성공적인 사업을 수행하기 위해서는 사업에 영향을 미치는 다양한 요인을 도출하고 적절한 타당성분석을 통하여 대응할 필요가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 선행연구와 발주현황 분석을 통해 타당성분석 예비 구성요소를 도출하고, 델파이 분석을 통하여 5단계의 프로세스와 10개의 프로세스 항목, 19개의 분석항목, 54개의 세부 분석항목 등 타당성분석 구성요소를 제시하였다. 이를 통해 향후 사업추진 시 발생 가능한 다양한 유형의 리스크에 대응하고 사업을 활성화하는 데 기여할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

국토계획과 환경계획 통합관리 지표의 적용을 통한 통합관리 현황 평가 (Assessment of National and Regional Plans Using Integrated Management Index of Korea National Planning and Environmental Planning for Present Status Evaluation)

  • Integrated management of Korea national and environmental planing for sustainable development is suggested, and basic research is needed. In this study, national and regional plans were assessed using 'integrated management index of Korea national planning and environmental planning' to grasp the current status of integrated management on Korea national planning and environmental planning. As a result of the assessment, it was found that both national and regional plans need to improve considering the natural ecology part and water resource and quality part. In addition, it was derived that the detailed contents of the indicator can not be reflected according to the characteristics in the higher-level plan. Therefore, it has been found necessary to include proclamatory contents so as to be able to establish a detailed plan that reflects environmental goals in the lower-level plan.

GIS 데이터에 기반한 건물인구 가중치 적용 ERAM 모델에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Application of Building Population Weighting to ERAM Model Based on GIS Data)

  • This study proposes a new ERAM model with building population weighting. Previous studies of applying weightings on ERAM model on the scale of urban space were focused on the relationship between the street and the human behavior. However, this study focuses on the influences that buildings give to human behavior and develops a building population weighted ERAM model. This research starts by analyzing ERAM model to its basic compositions, which are adjacency matrix and row vector. It applies building population weighting to the row vector, while previous studies put weightings in the adjacency matrix. Building population weighted ERAM model calculates the building population weighting based on GIS data, which provides objective and massive data of buildings in the urban scale. For the verification of the model, Insa-dong and Myeong-dong were analyzed with both ERAM model and building population weighted ERAM model. The results were analyzed through the correlation test with actual pedestrian population data of the two districts. As a result, the explanation ability of building population weighted ERAM model for the pedestrian population turned out to be higher than the ERAM model. Since building population weighted ERAM model has the structure that can be combined with other weighted ERAM models, it is expected to develop a multi-weighted ERAM model with better explanation ability as a further study.

모바일 데이터를 활용한 도시공원 이용자 핫스팟 분석 - 서울 성동구 공원을 대상으로 - (User Hot Spots of Urban Parks Identified Using Mobile Signaling Data - A Case Study of Seongdong-Gu, Seoul -)

  • 본 연구는 도시공원 이용자 분포를 조사하여 이들이 어디에서 왔는지 알기 어려운 기존 연구의 한계를 극복하고자 모바일 시그널 데이터를 활용하여 이용자 분포를 기반으로 공원 계획 및 관리에 활용할 수 있는 시사점을 제공하는 연구이다. 연구의 대상지는 다양한 물리적 특성을 지닌 서울 성동구 도시공원 5곳을 선정하였다. 서울시 빅데이터캠퍼스에서 제공받은 모바일 신호데이터를 사용하여 이용자 유입분포를 공원별 핫스팟 분석을 통해 파악하고 도시 맥락과 공원 영향권의 관계에 대해 도출했다. 공원 주변 상업비율이 높은 서울숲(P1)과 성수공원(P3)은 주변이 주거지역인 응봉공원(P2), 독서당공원(P4), 대현산공원(P5)보다 넓은 사용자 핫스팟을 보여주었다. 주변에 상업공간이 많은 공원이 넓은 영향권을 보였으며, 공원의 규모가 크고 경사가 완만한 공원은 영향권이 더 넓게 나타났다. 본 연구는 공원 이용자의 유입 분포를 기반으로 도시 공원 계획과 관리에 기존과 다른 자료를 기반으로 한 접근 방식을 제안했다.
